Both devices have been making rounds on various certification sites recently, with reports even sharing their design renders. In the latest development, schematic images of both Galaxy A05 and A05s have leaked online, revealing a handful of specifications.

As can be seen in the images, the A05 features a dual-camera system on the rear, similar to what we saw in leaked spy shots. The Google Play Console reveals that the display on the Galaxy A05 will offer a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels (20:9 aspect ratio), and it could measure 6.6 inches. Both models are expected to be dual-SIM phones with a dedicated slot for a microSD card; however, there’s no information available regarding the built-in storage capacity at this time.

Samsung is yet to announce the launch date for both of the phones. We should be getting an official confirmation in the coming days. Stay tuned for the updates!

Android-to-iPhone Cross-Platform Battery Sharing is Now a Reality

The long-standing barrier between Android and iPhone users has been slightly lowered with the new iPhone 15 series adopting USB-C. This means both types of smartphones can now share battery power, a function Android users have enjoyed since around 2015. While this might not be any big news, it’s a huge step in what could be one of many new features.

Companies are offering short USB-C connecting keychains for convenience

Previously, iPhones used USB-C to Lightning cables, which allowed Android phones to share power with iPhones but not vice versa. The new iPhone 15 series has effectively changed the game. A recent test by PetaPixel confirmed that an iPhone 15 could share its battery with a Google Pixel Fold via a USB-C cable.

iPhone 15

Why does this matter? For one, it enhances the utility of carrying a smartphone. With this feature, your phone doubles as a portable battery bank capable of charging other devices, whether it’s another phone or accessories like smartwatches. Android phones even offer a “charge connected device” option, making the process straightforward.

Although not a feature you’ll use daily, it’s beneficial in situations where, for instance, a friend’s phone is critically low on battery, and no wall socket is nearby. It’s also useful for charging smaller devices when on the go.

Companies like Nomad are capitalizing on this trend by offering keychain-sized USB-C cables, making it easier than ever to share power between devices.

Irrespective of utility, this symbolizes a step toward bringing together the world of mobile technology. Android and iPhone users can now share something as basic yet vital as battery power, perhaps opening doors for more cross-platform interactions in the future.

The Classic Mini Gets an Electric Makeover – at a Whopping Cost of $150,000

The classic Mini, originally designed as an affordable car for the British public, has gone electric—but not without losing sight of its budget-friendly roots. David Brown Automotive, known for luxury restorations, has launched an all-electric version named the Mini eMastered.

The car might be a classic, but the cost definitely forces people to raise their eyebrows

Equipped with a 72-kilowatt electric motor and an 18.8-kilowatt-hour battery, this revamped Mini can go up to 110 miles on a single charge. It accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 8.5 seconds and has a top speed of 92 mph. Despite the modern amenities, such as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, what really catches the eye is the sticker price. It is priced at a whopping $154,500 (£125,000), excluding all the extra charges and taxes. That’s a far cry from its origins as a budget-friendly vehicle. The Mini eMastered is handcrafted and customized per the owner’s specs, but at that price, it’s clear this car isn’t for everyone.

Mini Electric

This luxury revamp is definitely deviating from the Mini’s original mission to provide economical personal transport. The Mini eMastered does stay true to its classic design, down to its weight of 1,411 pounds, equal to the original gas model. However, its premium pricing clearly marks it as a luxury item, rather than a car for the average driver.

Trek Enters The E-Bike Game, & The Popular Marlin Gets an Electric Upgrade

Trek, a cycling giant renowned for decades of quality and affordability, finally electrified its best-selling Marlin model with the introduction of the Marlin+ Electric bike. This move comes as a surprise to many, given the long-standing popularity of the Marlin as an all-rounder bike. But hey, there’s a first time for everything.

The electric bike starts at just over $3,000 on Trek’s official website

While the original Marlin was a do-it-all machine, the Marlin+ aims to keep that legacy alive, but with an electric twist. Unlike its sibling that has conquered all terrains—from cross-country to technical tracks—the Marlin+ is fitted with a Bosch Active Line Plus mid-drive unit. Don’t expect a super-charged experience, though. The motor pumps out a modest 50 Newton-meters of torque. But what it lacks in raw power, it gains in customization, as users can fine-tune settings via the Bosch e-Bike Flow app.

Electric Trek

One area that might raise eyebrows is the battery. With just a 400-watt-hour pack, it’s not a long-range champion. However, it is compatible with Bosch’s 250Wh PowerMore range extender. So if you’re planning a day-long adventure, take a sigh of relief; this e-bike‘s got you covered.

Now let’s talk about riding comfort. The Marlin+ offers a 120-millimeter suspension fork, making it suitable for moderate terrains. It’s not a downgrade from its unassisted version but adds a layer of premium feel with a thru-axle system for mounting the wheels.

The cherry on top? Versatility remains key. Just like the Marlin, the electric version also has a frame that accommodates a variety of accessories. So, whether it’s a luggage rack or fenders, customize the Marlin+ to fit your riding style.

As for the price tag, the Marlin+6 is listed at £2,500 ($3,093 USD) on Trek’s UK website, while its more premium sibling, the Marlin+8, will set you back £3,000 ($3,712 USD). However, those waiting for it in the United States will have to exercise some patience; availability and pricing are still in the air.

Kia’s Global Sales and EV9 Exports are on the Rise with 82% YoY Growth in August

Kia Motors is gaining speed in the global vehicle market. In August, the company sold 255,481 units, a 5.2% increase compared to last year. Year-to-date, sales have risen by 8.9%, totaling 2,092,200 vehicles.

In the month of August alone, Kia sold close to 16,000 Electric Vehicles

However, the real headline is Kia’s booming electric vehicle (EV) sales. In August alone, the company sold over 15,900 electric cars, marking an 82% year-over-year growth. This includes a significant surge in the wholesale sales of their new EV models, the EV6 and EV9, which together sold 9,578 units.

Kia

The EV9 is gaining international attention, with its first major export of over 2,250 units. Most of these were shipped outside South Korea, highlighting Kia’s global ambitions in the electric market.

In overseas retail sales, the EV6 is leading the pack with 7,479 units sold, including 2,449 in the U.S. Other models like the Niro EV and Soul EV also performed well, contributing to more than 7,000 retail sales outside South Korea.

The numbers suggest that Kia’s electric lineup is likely to surpass the current monthly average of 10,000 units soon, especially with the positive market response to the new EV9.

Oppo Find X3 Pro gets Android 14 beta

Oppo was the first non-Google OEM to begin the Android 14 public beta program in August. Since then, the company has been adding new devices to the initiative every other week.

Today, the brand’s 2021 flagship smartphone Oppo Find X3 Pro joins the program. Interested users of this phone in China can enroll themselves to try out the latest version of Android before the general public.

ColorOS 12 Review GizmoChina OPPO Find X3 Pro 04
Oppo Find X3 Pro

Android 14 is the third major software update for the Oppo Find X3 Pro. The device will most likely not receive any more Android update going forward.

That’s because the new 4 Android update policy only covers flagship smartphones that were released in 2023. Anyway, the phone will receive its final major software update quickly as beta builds are already ready.

As mentioned earlier, the Android 14 beta program for Oppo Find X3 Pro is currently limited to China, just like other devices. But a similar program for global markets should begin shortly.

Oppo’s take on Android 14 is expected to be called ColorOS 14. However, the company is not using this name so far.

As of now, not much is known about the new features of Oppo’s next-gen mobile software. The brand should tease the features once we near the official announcement day, the date for which is yet to be revealed.

OnePlus also subtly confirmed the name as the OnePlus Open. Now the launch date of the device has been leaked. It was supposed to debut last month but was delayed due to the change of display panel supplier.

OnePlus Open launch date leaked

As per tipster Max Jambor, the OnePlus Open is set to debut next month. The date is set for October 19, Thursday. However, OnePlus is yet to share an official word on its foldable phone. If the leak indeed turns out to be true, then the brand will miss its third-quarter launch timeline that was earlier announced. We can expect official details in the coming weeks.

Past leaks and rumors have revealed information about the OnePlus Open left, right, and center. Leaked renders revealed a compact form factor, a wider aspect ratio, and a bigger protruding circular camera module on the rear. It is also said to have a fold lifecycle of 400,000 times. As for the core specifications, the foldable phone is rumored to come with a periscope camera lens, quad speakers, and an alert slider. It will reportedly have a 7.8-inch 2K internal display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The foldable phone is tipped to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The device is expected to be backed by a 4,800mAh battery unit with support for 67W fast charging.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Honor X50 GT will not be the only GT-branded handset from the brand. There will be also an Honor 100 GT.
