YouTube lowers monetization eligibility requirements for creators to make money

YouTube has recently announced a significant update to its monetization policies, making it easier for small creators to earn money from their content. The platform has lowered the eligibility requirements for its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and introduced new monetization methods for creators with smaller followings.

YouTube Partner Program: Lower Eligibility Requirements for Monetization

Under the revised policy, creators will now be eligible to join the YPP once they reach 500 subscribers, which is half the previous requirement. Additionally, the threshold for valid watch hours has been reduced from 4,000 to 3,000, and the number of Shorts views required has been adjusted from 10 million to 3 million. These changes will initially be implemented in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea.

While the lower requirements allow smaller creators to monetize their channels, it’s important to note that revenue sharing through the YPP will still necessitate meeting the existing criteria. However, creators who achieve the higher requirements will not be required to reapply to the program. YouTube has been actively promoting its ad revenue-sharing program for Shorts, a move aimed at encouraging creators to produce short-form content.

YouTube’s decision to expand monetization opportunities follows a similar trend seen on platforms like TikTok. TikTok recently introduced its video paywall feature, Series, which was initially available to creators with over 10,000 followers. However, the company extended the eligibility to users with 1,000 followers who meet additional requirements. This feature enables creators to offer premium content that fans can access by paying a fee.

The introduction of monetization features like tipping, paywalls, and shopping affiliations provides small creators with additional avenues to generate income from their content. Such features have become commonplace across various creator platforms and rely on an engaged audience willing to support their favorite creators financially.

YouTube’s shopping affiliate program, previously accessible to select creators by invitation only, has also become available to YPP participants in the US with at least 20,000 subscribers, further expanding monetization opportunities for eligible creators.

By lowering the bar for monetization and introducing new features, YouTube aims to empower smaller creators to turn their passion into a sustainable income source. These changes reflect a broader industry trend toward increasing support for content creators across various social media platforms.

BYD Yangwang Sedan Unveiled in Spy Photos: Equipped with LiDAR and Luxury Interior

Leaks are a common occurrence in the technology world. Even the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD, is not immune to leaks. Recently, spy photos of BYD’s new luxury sedan, the “Yangwang,” were released online. The spy photos reveal that the Yangwang is equipped with LiDAR and other advanced technologies. Here are the details…

New Luxury BYD Yangwang Sedan to Shake Up the Luxury Car Market

A Chinese auto blogger on Weibo recently obtained a set of spy photos of a new sedan from BYD’s luxury brand, Yangwang. The car is fully camouflaged, but its size and stance suggest that it is likely to be a mid-to-large sedan. The car’s overall shape can be seen through the camouflage, and it appears to have a fastback-like design.

The front of the car is equipped with LiDAR, which suggests that it may be equipped with self-driving technology. The length and width of the car are also likely to be significant, given the size of the LiDAR system. The leakster also provided close-up photos of the wheel hub, which clearly shows the Yangwang brand logo. This is the first time that the Yangwang brand logo has been seen, and it suggests that the car is nearing production.

In terms of the interior, the cabin of the new car is also well concealed, but the overall layout of the cabin is quite similar to that of Yangwang U8. The new model also adopts a three-screen layout similar to the Yangwang U8, with the co-driver screen embedded in the central control panel. Unfortunately, it is currently unclear when the product will be available for sale. However, considering that tests are being conducted, it is possible to say that it may happen soon.

Why Apple’s iPhone 15 Could Be the Most Successful iPhone Ever, Despite Being the Most Expensive

Apple’s iPhone 15 series is coming soon! The company is expected to unveil its new devices in September, and they are sure to set new standards in the smartphone market. However, there is one downside: prices are likely to increase. The standard iPhone 15 is rumored to cost the same as last year’s iPhone 14 Pro. Despite the price hike, analysts believes that Apple is still on track for another monster sales cycle.

Apple’s iPhone sales have been slowing down, but one analyst believes that the iPhone 15 could be a big seller

If you’re thinking about buying a new iPhone, you might be wondering if you should wait for the iPhone 15 to come out. You’re not alone. Many people are in the same boat, and a lot of them are choosing to wait for the new model. This is having a big impact on sales of the iPhone 14 series. In fact, sales have declined even more this year than they did in previous years.

iPhone 15

Revenue for the iPhone was down 4% in the last six months compared to the same period in the previous year. Despite this, one analyst believes that the iPhone 15 could be a big seller, even if it is more expensive than the iPhone 14. Dan Ives, a respected Wall Street analyst, believes that there are around 250 million people who are still using iPhones that are at least four years old.

He thinks that these people, as well as the loyal iPhone users who upgrade every year, will be tempted to buy the new iPhone 15 when it comes out. Ives also believes that Apple will raise the price of the iPhone 15. He predicts that the average sale price will be around $925, which is $100 higher than the average sales price for new iPhones over the past 18 months.

If Ives is right, then the iPhone 15 could be a huge success for Apple. The company could sell millions of units and its stock price could soar. Of course, there are no guarantees. But the fact that a respected analyst like Ives is so bullish on the iPhone 15 is a good sign for Apple.

Exynos W930 Chipset Spotted in Bluetooth Certification, Could Power Galaxy Watch 6

The new Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to launch in July at the Unpacked event. Over the past few months, leaks have hinted at various upgrades in the new lineup, including improved battery life and the return of the fan-favorite bezel. Now, it appears that the Watch 6 series will also be equipped with a new chipset, as the Exynos W930 has made an early appearance on the Bluetooth SIG website.

Exynos W930 could offer 10% faster performance than W920

An Exynos chipset with model number S5E5515 has appeared on the Bluetooth SIG, a regulatory board for products equipped with Bluetooth. This chip, known as the Exynos W930, is a successor to Samsung’s Exynos W920, which was used in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5. Previously referred to as the “W980,” the Exynos W930 is expected to provide a performance increase of approximately 10% for the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 series.

Samsung-Exynos-W930

The Exynos W930 chip could bring notable improvements to Samsung’s wearables. As per the listing, it supports Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi. Like its predecessor (the W920), the W920 will be manufactured using the advanced 5nm process. However, according to the certification, to achieve a comprehensive Bluetooth and Wi-Fi solution, the processor requires an additional RF chip.

Samsung could unveil its next generation of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 6, on July 26. The new watches will run on OneUI 5 Watch, based on Wear OS 4, and will bring back the rotating bezel that was a popular feature on previous Galaxy Watch models but was missing on the Watch 5 series.

The Galaxy Watch 6 family will have all the activity and health tracking features that are available in the Galaxy Watch 5 series, including heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and GPS.

No! Huawei is not getting 5G chips from Qualcomm, but there is good news

In response to recent rumors claiming that Qualcomm has resumed supplying 5G chips to Huawei, Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Executive Director and CEO of the Consumer Business Group, has refuted these claims, stating that they are fake news. While the specific mention of 5G may be disputed, Huawei’s smartphone business continues to show signs of improvement.

Huawei CEO Denies Qualcomm 5G Chip Supply Rumors, Focuses on Smartphone Business Growth

Insiders from the industry chain have revealed that Huawei has raised its 2023 smartphone shipment target to 40 million units, a significant increase from the initial target of 30 million units set earlier this year. This positive adjustment can be attributed to the promising prospects of Huawei’s P60 series and Mate X3 smartphones. Additionally, Huawei’s supply chain has experienced a corresponding recovery, further supporting the company’s positive outlook.

Amidst these developments, the release of Huawei’s Mate 60 series remains a possibility. Huawei has demonstrated an intensive schedule of new device releases over the past year, giving hope to enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the Mate 60 series in the near future.

Huawei Mate 60 Pro render

Recently, a digital blogger shared a conceptual image of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro, which exhibits similarities to its predecessor, the Mate 40 Pro. However, it is important to note that this image is not the final design of the Mate 60 Pro and should be regarded only as a reference.

Final Fantasy 16 Demo is now live on the PlayStation Store

During the Final Fantasy XVI Pre-Launch Celebration event, it was announced that a playable demo will also go live for the latest entry in the popular Final Fantasy franchise. The upcoming RPG game’s demo is currently available for download. So here are all the details.

Final Fantasy 16 Demo brings 4 hours of gameplay

The studio behind the FF16 have released a new demo on the PlayStation store, which consists of two segments from the full game. This first segment alone offers 2 hours of gameplay, which is set during a playable prologue of the game. Furthermore, the save data from this segment can even be carries forward to the full game when the game drops later this month. On the other hand, the second part of the demo is another 2 hour long segment.

Final Fantasy

Although, this part of the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI is more action focused and is based around a mission that shows Clive’s infiltration of a fort. But unlike the prologue, this section of the game’s save data will not be transferred to the final game. This makes sense considering the fact that this part takes place later in the story unlike the prologue. The second segment of the demo is also primarily focused on showcasing the combat of the game and was action packed.

For those unaware, the Final Fantasy XVI is set to hit the stores for the Sony PlayStation 5 on 22nd June 2023. So one can check out this demo on their PlayStation before deciding on purchasing the full game.

Here’s why Xiaomi Pad 6 is a better deal than OnePlus Pad in India

The Xiaomi Pad 6 went official in India earlier today. The latest tablet from the company comes with several upgrades over its predecessor Xiaomi Pad 5 for the same price.

It costs under ₹30,000 and still offers flagship-level hardware. In fact, there’s no other product on the market with a similar set of features in this price segment.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 sort of competes with the OnePlus Pad despite being much more affordable. Even the accessories are cheaper making them more accessible.

Excellent pricing makes the Xiaomi Pad 6 a better deal than the costlier OnePlus Pad in India. Here’s why we think this way.

Xiaomi Pad 6

Disclosure: Our team has tested OnePlus Pad, Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, and Xiaomi Pad 6. We even have reviews of the first two products on our website. The opinions stated below are based on our experience with the devices.

Better for Media Consumption

The OnePlus Pad has a slightly larger 11.61-inch display with more pixels (2800 x 2000) than the 11-inch screen with 2880 x 1800 pixels on the Xiaomi Pad 6. However, you will find the latter better to consume content.

Because though panels on both tablets support HDR10 and Dolby Vision, you can stream content in these HDR standards only on Xiaomi Pad 6. For some reason, OnePlus has not certified its device to play DRM-protected content in HDR.

Secondly, Xiaomi Pad 6 gives you an option to force HDR for standard content too. Also, the display is brighter at 550 nits compared to 500 nits.

Well-optimized for Gaming

The MediaTek Dimesnity 9000 SoC present inside the OnePlus Pad is more powerful than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset found inside the Xiaomi Pad 6. However, the latter chip is well-optimized for games.

Developers are known to optimize their games more for Qualcomm Snapdragon chips. That’s because most high-end smartphones feature Qualcomm chips.

As a result, despite being less powerful, the gaming experience on the Xiaomi Pad 6 is comparatively better than the OnePlus Pad. Almost all games can be played in the highest ever quality possible with little to no frame drops and lower thermals.

Comparatively Finer Software

The Xiaomi Pad 5 boots MIUI 14 for Pad compared to OxygenOS 13.1 on OnePlus Pad. Xiaomi’s software has well thought tablet-focussed features heavily inspired by iPadOS.

These features enable you to be more productive. For instance, you can multitask better in split-view along with floating windows.

Anyway, it is worth noting that the Android app library for tablets still pales against what you get on iPadOS.

The Pricing

The Xiaomi Pad 6 not only offers an overall better experience but is also ₹11,000 cheaper than the OnePlus Pad in India. The Xiaomi tablet starts at ₹26,999 (6GB + 128GB) as opposed to ₹37,999 (8GB + 128GB) for OnePlus’ offering.

For the price of the base OnePlus Pad, you can get the base Xiaomi Pad 6,  Xiaomi Smart Pen 2nd Generation (₹5,999), and Xiaomi Pad 6 Keyboard (₹4,999).

Even if you opt for the higher 8GB + 256GB variant of the Xiaomi Pad 6 (₹28,999) along with the aforementioned accessories, it will only cost you the same as the 12GB + 256GB version of the OnePlus Pad (₹39,999).
