Since its introduction, smartwatches have advanced significantly, and Samsung has been at the forefront of innovation in this field. A recent patent application filed by the tech giant raises the possibility of a future Galaxy Watch with an integrated projector. These smartwatches may soon be introduced to the market, and we may even have the opportunity to use one.

According to the patent application, the projector will be built within the watch strap, making it simple to operate and practical for users who are constantly on the go. The patent also implies that the watch will have a variety of sensors that can detect surfaces and automatically change the projected image’s focus and orientation.

The patent schematics also show a number of lenses and LEDs arranged in two rows that would enable the Galaxy Watch’s built-in projector to project an image or piece of material onto the hand without any distortion. However, for the image to be correctly presented, your wrist might need to be absolutely straight. Vivo has started teasing the V27 series smartphones in India. The series will have three devices – the V27e, the V27, and the V27 Pro. The brand is yet to confirm a launch date for the devices, however, a recent teaser confirms that the devices will be available to purchase from Flipkart.

A new report from Thetechoutlook has now tipped the launch date of the Vivo V27 Pro while also revealing some information about the V27 and V27e. The report cites tipster Debayan Roy as the source. It mentions that the Vivo V27 Pro will launch on February 25.

Other devices in the series like the V27 and V27e will launch later down the line. The exact date is still a mystery. The last bit of info in the leak mentions that the V27 Pro will be priced under ₹40,000 in India. Rumors suggest that this device is a rebranded version of the Vivo S16 Pro which launched back in December 2022 in China.

The upcoming Vivo V27 Pro is anticipated to come with a large 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display, boasting a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels and a high refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Additionally, the screen will have a 360Hz touch sampling rate and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC and offer 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. A 4600mAh battery and 66W fast charging will also be included.

The smartphone is expected to feature a triple camera setup, including a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. Selfie enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a 50MP front-facing camera. The phone will measure 164 x 74.8 x 7.4mm and weigh approximately 183 grams.

Twitter is apparently planning on making some changes to its advertising policies. The company is set to allow cannabis companies to promote their brand and services on the popular platform.

According to the microblogging website’s new blogpost, “Going forward, Twitter is allowing advertisers to promote brand preference and informational cannabis related content for CBD, THC, and cannabis related products and services”. In other words, the companies that sell products related to cannabis and other related items can freely advertise on the social media giant’s platform. Although, there will still be some restrictions on what you can or cannot advertise.

As per a separate report, the advertisements are restricted from directly promoting or even offering the sale of cannabis itself. However, there are some exceptions to certain types of CBD based products. Apart from this, there will even be restrictions based on age and location to limit who sees the ads related to cannabis. This new shift in policy is one of the latest changes on Twitter after the company got acquired by billionaire Tesla CEO, Elon Musk.

In the official announcement, the Twitter hinted that cannabis companies could use their platform to reach a broader audience. It also added that conversations related to cannabis is “larger than the conversation around topics such as pets, cooking, and golf, as well as food and beverage categories including fast food, coffee, and liquor.”

Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge Gets MIUI 14 Update in India

MIUI 14 update is now available for two more devices in India. These phones are Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge.

For the unaware, the two smartphones are rebranded versions of the Chinese Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus. They are getting the latest MIUI software after the original models.

The MIUI 14 update for the Xiaomi 11i series in India also brings along Android 13. Thus, the device has now received two MIUI and Android updates each.

The update comes with build number V14.0.1.0.TKTINXM. As per Xiaomiui, it is currently only available for ‘Mi Pilot Testers’.

If this software build doesn’t have major issues, it will be pushed to a limited number of public users as ‘Stable Beta’. Later, it will be rolled out to all users gradually. In other words, the update should reach all units within the next few weeks.

The Xiaomi 11i and the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge debuted with MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. They were updated to MIUI 13 and Android 12 last year.

We are not sure if these two phones will receive any further major software updates. But there’s a chance they will as newer Xiaomi smartphones are eligible for three Android updates. They may at least get access to a third MIUI update.

That said, users of the handsets can periodically head over to Settings to check whether their unit has got the latest OTA system update.

The new OS is specifically designed for the financial terminal industry and has received the China UnionPay Financial Digital Service Terminal Operating System Authentication certificate.

FlyHong OS Lite has tested by the Bank Card Testing Center (BCTC) to ensure that it meets all industry requirements. The review of operating system covered various aspects such as basic functions of the operating system, financial service functions, interface layers, system services, layers, security, component functionality, stability, and compatibility. FlyHong OS passed all tests successfully.

FlyHong OS Lite also offers a wide range of financial capabilities, security capabilities, and system customization capabilities based on OpenHarmony. Financial digital service terminals provide all-around protection for system security, data security, and application security.

This means that financial institutions can be confident that their data and applications are secure and protected from unauthorized access. FlyHong OS has also received the OpenHarmony 3.1 release version compatibility review and received the OpenHarmony Ecosystem Product Compatibility Certificate.

The main question is whether the number of devices using this HarmonyOS will increase. In fact, it all depends on the success of projects like FlyHong OS Lite. Earlier today, Vivo officially launched the Y100 mid-range smartphone in India. The brand has another smartphone in the pipeline called the Vivo Y56 5G which is teased to debut soon. Ahead of the official launch, it appears that the device is already available to purchase via an offline store.

Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom has shared an image of the new Vivo Y56 5G in its packaging box. The image informs that the device has a single 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant that costs ₹19,999. Additionally, the brand has also listed it on its official website with all the specifications and features. Let’s take a look at the details.

Vivo Y56 5G specs

The Vivo Y56 5G is built with a plastic frame and body, with two circular camera cutouts and an LED flash module on the back. On the front, there is a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution of 2408 × 1080 pixels, 60Hz refresh rate, and a waterdrop notch. The display has a thick chin and moderate bezels.

It runs on an entry-level 5G processor, the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, and supports seven 5G bands in India. The device also has 8GB of physical RAM, and with Extended RAM 3.0, it can offer an additional 8GB of virtual RAM. It has a large 5000mAh battery but only supports 18W fast charging via the USB Type-C port. Samsung introduced the Galaxy S Fan Edition (FE) series in 2020 with the launch of the Galaxy S20 FE. During the announcement, the company revealed that it will bring more FE phones down the line.

But unfortunately, the plan did not go well. The South Korean Electronic giant only released a single successor in the form of Galaxy S21 FE. Even this device was on the brink of getting canceled but somehow it went official much later than the planned timeline.

Further, the Galaxy S22 FE had a rough start since the beginning. It was said to be axed a few months ago. Amidst this, a new report now suggests that Samsung may debut the Galaxy S23 FE later this year.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE All Colors — Samsung Galaxy S21 FE

According to a report by a South Korean publication called Hankooki (via SamMobile), Samsung will release the Galaxy S23 FE in the second half of 2023. If this is true, the Galaxy S FE series is still alive and intact.

The affordable Galaxy S lineup was said to be discontinued for once and all last year. Thus, this piece of information is good news for targeted consumers.

The report also confirms the fate of the rumored Galaxy A74. The successor of Galaxy A73 is most likely canceled. This is expected to prevent cannibalism among Samsung’s own phones. For the unaware, the A7x handsets are usually priced closer to the Galaxy S FE devices.

Additionally, the report also says that the upcoming Galaxy S23 FE will be sold in more markets than ever before. This is to compensate for the absence of Galaxy A74.

Unfortunately, not much is known about the next-gen Galaxy S Fan Edition smartphone. There’s a chance it could be powered by an unreleased Exynos 2300 SoC. However, we could not rule out the possibility of Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Snapdragon Gen 2 for Galaxy chipsets either.

According to a new report, the Japanese tech giant is working on a new pair of gaming earbuds that have been codenamed Project Nomad. These are a pair on in-ear earphones that will offer a premium audio experience. Sony is a known brand in the hearables market, so its expertise will likely been seen in these upcoming earbuds as well. The report adds that the battery life on these earphone will be around five hours, which is the average with most earbuds.

This device could even rival the Apple AirPods. The AirPods offers spatial surround sound support, which the PS5 also offers. In other words, it is also possible that the new PS5 earbuds could come with this feature as well. The wireless earphones would likely house a USB Type-C port for charging. As of right now, it is unclear when Sony would launch these PS5 earbuds, although the report claims that the announcement isn’t planned for anytime this year.

Rather, the release could be set for around March or April 2024. So far, the company only offers gaming headsets that are built for the PlayStation 5 along with its InZone series. After much weight, iQOO has launched the Neo 7 smartphone for India. This device is the rebranded version of the iQOO Neo 7 SE which was launched back on December 8 in China. Let’s take a look at all the specs and features present on the device.

iQOO Neo 7 specs & features

The iQOO Neo 7 comes with a 6.78-inch center-aligned punch-hole AMOLED display featuring FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has thin bezels, HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 1300 nits, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The back panel has a square camera module, and the smartphone is equipped with a three-dimensional stereo speaker for audio.

In terms of optics, the iQOO Neo 7 has triple rear cameras, which include an OIS-enabled 64MP primary sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP front-facing camera.

Under the hood, the iQOO Neo 7 is the first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 processor, which is based on a 4nm process. The device comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It also features a heat dissipation system and an X-Axis linear motor. The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. The iQOO Neo 7 runs on Android 13-based Origin OS 3.0.

Connectivity options on the iQOO Neo 7 include WiFi, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, NFC, GPS, and a USB-C port.

Pricing & availability

The iQOO Neo 7 has a starting price of ₹29,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. On the other hand, the 12GB + 256GB model will cost ₹33,999. HDFC, ICICI, and SBI credit and debit card holders will get an instant discount of ₹1,500 on the purchase of either model.

The Neo 7 smartphone will be available for purchase in India starting at 1 PM today (February 16). It can be purchased from Amazon India as well as iQOO’s website.

Update: OnePlus reached out to us today saying that they miscommunicated the software update cycle for the OnePlus 11R previously. The correct update cycle is three years of Android OS versions and four years of security updates. This means that the OnePlus 11R will receive up to Android 16 version.

OnePlus had announced a new software update policy last December. During the Cloud 11 launch event, the brand revealed that the OnePlus 11 5G will be the first phone to receive four future Android OS versions. However, the same was not announced for the OnePlus 11R 5G which also debuted at the event. Now the OnePlus support team has officially confirmed the software update cycle for the latest R-series device.

Replying to a user on Twitter, OnePlus says that the latest 11R will get four major Android updates and five years of security updates. It ships with the latest OxygenOS 13-based Android 13 out of the box. The guaranteed four years of updates mean that the smartphone will be eligible to run on the Android 17 OS version. This puts the OnePlus 11R 5G on par with the 11 5G in terms of software support. Additionally, there are not many devices under the Rs 45,000 segment (considering the top variant of the 11R 5G) to get as many as four years of Android OS updates. Most of them offer two or three versions at max.

The longer software update cycle of the OnePlus 11R 5G makes it a great option for those who want to use the phone longer while also experiencing new software features with every version of future Android. Software updates are a major parameter that influences customers buying decisions. Longer support allows users to keep using their devices for a longer period of time after paying a premium. Back in September 2022, the Realme C33 budget-range smartphone was launched in India. The smartphone is currently available in 3 GB + 32 GB and 4 GB + 64 GB RAM and storage options. However, it appears that the brand will soon be launching a 128GB storage option for India as well as other Global markets.

The device has appeared on multiple certification websites with an RMX3627 model number and 128GB storage onboard. Now, the same has made an appearance on Geekbenck.

According to a recent Geekbench 5 benchmark database listing, the Realme C33 has a single-core score of 274 points and a multi-core score of 1269 points. The listing confirms that the phone will have an octa-core processor with a peak frequency of 1.82GHz.

The Realme C33 128GB will be powered by a UniSoC T612 processor, which is the same as the current Realme C33 models. Additionally, the benchmark listing also reveals that the phone will come with 4GB of RAM and run on Android 12 operating system.

The Realme C33 features a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a Unisoc T612 chipset, offering up to 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM that can be expanded with a microSD card.
