Reports have revealed that iQOO plans to launch a flagship phone named the iQOO 9T in India. It may launch by the end of this month. The specifications of this device have already leaked. Now, a fresh tweet by tipster Mukul Sharma has revealed some more details about the smartphone.
iQOO 9T key features
The iQOO 9T could be one of the first phones to arrive with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship chipset in India. The tipster claimed that it would be the segment’s first smartphone to feature the AMOLED E5 display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate.
The device will be equipped with a 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 ultra-sensing camera with real-time extreme night vision. It will also feature the Vivo V1+, which, according to Vivo, is a chip that enhances the photography experience. The smartphone will have support for 120W fast charging.
A report by GSMArena revealed that the iQOO 9T will debut by the end of July this year in India. Hence, it appears that the company will start teasing the arrival of the iQOO 9T in the third or fourth week of July. With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 onboard, it will be the company’s most powerful flagship iQOO phone since India’s iQOO 9 lineup featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 888+, and Snapdragon 888 chipsets.
According to reports, the iQOO 9T will house a 6.78-inch AMOLED E5 LTPO 2.0 panel that offers a Quad HD+ resolution. The SD8+G1 powered device is likely to arrive in two configurations: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. In all likelihood, the device will be equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The specifics of its cameras and battery capacity have yet to be revealed.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Dual SIM slot, 5G
Dual SIM slot, 5G, mechanical pop-up triggers
Dual SIM slot, 5G, waterproof IP68
Design
The vanilla Xiaomi 12S and the Pro variant come with the same design with the exception of the dimensions: the former is a compact phone, while the latter is a standard device with a wide display. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is totally different and, with its rear side made of leather and its huge camera module, it looks like a Leica camera. Among these phones, the Ultra variant is the only one with the IP68 certification making its design waterproof and dustproof. The dimensions are more or less the same as the Pro variant and the front glass is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus on each of these phones. There is no curved display, but the screen to body ratios are very high.
Display
The Xiaomi 12S Pro and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra have exactly the same display. It is an LTPO2 AMOLED panel with one billion colors, a diagonal of 6.73 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of 1,500 nits, as well as a great in-display fingerprint reader. It is one of the best displays you can find in the whole smartphone market. The original Xiaomi 12S has a different and inferior panel: an AMOLED display with a small 6.28-inch diagonal, 68 billion colors, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, the HDR10+ certification, Dolby Vision, an in-display fingerprint reader, and a peak brightness of 1,100 nits.
Specs & Software
All of these phones, as mentioned above, are powered by the best Qualcomm chipset to date: the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It is a mobile platform built at 4 nm with a max frequency of 3.19 GHz and an octa-core architecture composed of one Cortex-X2 CPU, two Cortex-A710 CPUs, 4 Cortex-A510 CPUs, and an Adreno 730 GPU. The most advanced memory configuration sports 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage, but there are lower-end versions available at more affordable prices. All of these phones run Android 12 out of the box, customized by MIUI 13, and they will be among the Xiaomi phones with the longest software support because they are its latest flagships.
Camera
Each of these phones can be considered a great camera phone, but the best and the most interesting is the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. It sports a 50.3 MP main camera with OIS and Leica Lens, a 48 MP periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom, a 48 MP ultrawide camera, and a TOF 3D sensor for depth calculation. Right after, we got the Xiaomi 12S Pro with three 50 MP sensors including a telephoto lens and an ultrawide camera. The Xiaomi 12S is the most disappointing one due to its midrange-class secondary sensors, but it has a great 50 MP main camera co-engineered with Leica.
The longest battery life is provided by the Xiaomi 12S Ultra simply because it has a bigger battery, with a capacity of 4860 mAh. But if you need the fastest charging speeds, then you should go for the Pro variant because it is the only one to feature 120W fast charging, while the others come with 67W fast charging.
Price
The starting price of the vanilla Xiaomi 12S in China roughly translates to €570/$580, the Pro variant starts from about €670/$682, and the Ultra is priced at €950/$967 in its base configuration with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage. Now that you know the differences, which one would you pick?

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is expanding on all frontiers and its latest push has seen the company launch the Mi Laser Ultra-Short Throw FHD Projector in the West African nation of Ghana. The Mi Laser Projector isn’t in any way a new product with the first Mi Laser Projector appearing in China in 2017. Since then, Xiaomi has released successive models bringing some improvements over their predecessors. The new laser projector launched in India features Android TV.
The Mi Laser Projector is an ultra-short throw projector that can be placed between 5 and 50cm away from the wall. The device is capable of producing an image up to 150 inches measured diagonally in 1080p resolution. Xiaomi promises up to 5,000 lumens of brightness and 3000:1 contrast. Picture quality is assured as a result of the use of advanced laser fluorescence display technology (ALPD 3.0) and several other features. The Mi Laser Ultra-Short Throw Projector is priced at Gh 14,239 (~$1770).
The launch of the Mi Laser projector in Ghana is significant because it is the first time the Chinese brand would be launching a non-smartphone product in the region. Xiaomi phones are selling pretty well in West Africa, boosted by their superior quality over existing brands such as Tecno and Infinix. The brand may soon become a market leader in that segment if it boosts its promotion mechanism and perhaps works on offering after-care services and open more Mi stores and experience centers in major cities in the region. Xiaomi has got a rich catalog of Smart products that are likely to sell extremely well if they are released.

Samsung is aiming to sustain its position at the summit of the foldable smartphone segment. The South Korean tech giant is developing cheaper alternatives to the Galaxy Z Fold/ Flip models. The Galaxy A Fold and Galaxy A Flip model are reportedly under development.
Samsung currently accounts for about 80% of the foldable smartphones market but could be facing a stiff challenge from its competitors. There are rumors that Apple could be developing a foldable device, coupled with a raft of cheaper foldables already on the market. The Galaxy A Fold and Flip models will help sustain, and possibly expand Samsung’s stranglehold on the market.
Apart from the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3 foldable phones, Samsung also has the OG Fold model, but these smartphones do not come cheap. The OG Fold from 2019 is selling at $1,800 while the Z Flip3 retails at around $1,000. There had been feelers that Samsung could release a less-expensive version of the Z Fold3 when it was released. Up till now, however, Samsung has not unveiled a cheaper foldable. But it would seem that the likelihood is quite high that indeed a foldable could be in the works.
A tipster has hinted that the affordable Galaxy A lineup will include foldable models. This is further corroborated by news from a Korean news outlet ET News. The ET News article stated that Samsung is working on a foldable smartphone priced around 1 million won ($767).
Samsung will likely provide less powerful components like chipsets and cameras to achieve a cheaper device. Samsung will also exclude premium features from the Galaxy A Fold/ Flip models with only core foldable functionalities present. A 2024 release is projected for the release of the Galaxy A Fold and Flip models. Samsung remains mum at this time on its foldable plans.

Xiaomi recently launched the Xiaomi 12S series smartphones in China. Now, Chinese tipster, Digital Chat Station reports that the brand’s upcoming Xiaomi 13 series might come with a ceramic body. It is tipped to be manufactured by BYD. The tipster adds that this is just a prototype and it remains to be seen whether the final product indeed features a ceramic back panel. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra was also expected to come with a ceramic body but the brand ditched it.

The Xiaomi 13 series is tipped to launch later in November this year. It will reportedly be powered by an SM8550 processor which could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The lineup is expected to consist of standard and Pro models with codenames Nuwa and Fuxi respectively. The former has model number 2211133C.
It’s still quite early for the Xiaomi 13 series launch, so we recommend taking this news with a pinch of salt. We should hear more about the smartphones in the coming months.

A teardown video of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has revealed its huge camera module. The video was posted by WekiHome and shows a teardown of the flagship revealing its main camera setup. The 1-inch sensor is quite bigger than most of the sensors around like the ISOCELL 13 GNV.
Xiaomi 12S Ultra teardown
Wekihome had shown a complete teardown video of Xiaomi’s latest 12S Ultra flagship showing the size of the triple camera setup and other internal components. The compact arrangement consists of the main camera module, a 5x periscope sensor, and the 48MP ultra-wide camera. The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has a 4,860mAh battery which is also accommodated.
The arrangement also sees the RAM, storage, and the SD 8+ Gen 1 chip on the same side. A customized vapor chamber, copper sheets, and thermal paste combine to provide optimal heat management for the device. The main camera module of the 12S Ultra is 1.1cm thick revealing a huge camera bump. A complex 8P lens covers the length of the IMX989 sensor. The teardown video of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra shows that Xiaomi was able to manage its space given the huge main camera module.
Earlier this year, Nubia‘s sub-brand Red Magic announced its plans to diversify its product range to cater to a broader gaming and e-sports community.
The brand had teased an upcoming e-sports monitor, e-sports routers, gaming keyboards and mice, and XR goggles. Out of these products, Red Magic is preparing to launch its gaming keyboard along with the mouse and the gaming monitor on July 11 in China. So, let’s take a look at what we know so far.
Red Magic Gaming Mouse
The official teaser has revealed the design of the gaming mouse. It has a traditional and symmetrical design with sharp curve lines at the sides to help make for a firmer mouse grip. There are LED lights on the scroll wheel, mouse buttons, and palm rest.
Spec-wise, the brand has teased that the mouse uses Pixart’s latest PAW3395 sensor which is a flagship-grade optical sensor. It stands out from other sensors offered by the brand because of the MotionSync feature. MonitorSync basically synchronizes the sensor readings with polling events making the dragging motion of the curser feel more consistent.
For switches, the mouse will use Kaihua GM 8.0 Black Mamba micro switch that offers a massive lifespan of 80 million clicks and has a short travel distance of just 0.3mm making for a quick rebound. Other than that, it comes with programmable side switches and supports wired, 2.4G wireless, and Bluetooth connectivity.
Red Magic gaming monitor
Coming to the monitor, the brand has revealed some of its key details. According to Red Magic, the Red Devils gaming monitor is the first 27-inch 4K 160Hz refresh rate Mini LED monitor in the world. Other than that, the teaser image reveals that it is bezel-less on three sides and carries a moderate chin.
Red Magic gaming mechanical keyboard
Lastly, the mechanical keyboard from Red Magic is a full-size keyboard with a small LED display up top. It will feature gaming-grade switches from TTC.
Notable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals that future mid-range iPhone models will not come with the company’s latest chipsets. This suggests that the processor will be exclusive to the high-end iPhone models. Kuo states that the strategy will result in people buying these models instead of cheaper ones. If the report indeed turns out to be accurate, the days of having an entire next-generation lineup of iPhones with the latest chipsets might be over.
iPhone 14 Series prototypes
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 14 series this fall. The lineup will consist of iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max. Previously, Kuo had reported that the non-Pro models will be powered by the older A15 processor. On the other hand, the Pro variants will be equipped with the A16 SoC. As a result of the latest chip, Kuo says that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be more popular, accounting for 60 percent sales. It will also allow the Cupertino-based brand to generate more revenue.
The higher proportion will also benefit component suppliers such as Sony, Largan, and LG Innotek, which will generate 20 to 30 percent more revenue than last year. Kuo revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro models will be equipped with Sony’s camera sensors and LG Innotek’s colour correction matrix.
As per past reports, there are expected to be design differences between the non-Pro and Pro models of the iPhone 14 with the latter coming with a pill-shaped cutout on the display.
OnePlus is expected to launch a new device in its flagship numbered series dubbed the OnePlus 10T. High-resolution renders of the device were spotted online last week and the smartphone also made an appearance on the Amazon UK site for a little while.
Now, popular Weibo tipster, Digital Chat Station has posted an AnTuTu score screenshot of an unreleased OnePlus device which could be the upcoming OnePlus 10T. The screenshot reveals that the device has the PGP110 model number.
Coming to the benchmark score itself, the device has managed to score a mind-boggling 1,131,151 points leaving behind every other smartphone currently on the market. It appears that the rumors regarding the 10T having better gaming performance are likely true.
