At the WWDC 2022, Apple finally announced the new M2 chipset and also put all the rumors to rest with the launch of the redesigned Apple MacBook Air. With this, the company has updated the laptop which was last refreshed a couple of years ago.
The new Apple MacBook Air comes powered by the new M2 chip and continues to have a fanless design. Instead of the regular 13.3-inch display, the laptop comes with a new 13.6-inch display with up to 500 nits of brightness.
The screen is said to be 25 percent brighter than its predecessor and it comes with support for 1 billion colors. As for the design, the device looks quite similar to the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models of last year.
Powered by the new M2 processor, Apple claims that the Final Cut Pro performance is nearly 40 percent faster than on the M1 Air and Photoshop is up to 20 percent faster.
There are two Thunderbolt ports on the left side, along with a headphone jack with support for high-impedance headphones. It also has added support for the MagSafe connector for charging. However, it still misses out on some of the ports, such as HDMI and SD Card reader, among others.
It also comes with an updated 1080p camera along with four speakers and three microphones. Apple said that there’s also support for Dolby Atmos spatial audio. The Magic Keyboard now has a full row of function keys with Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad.
The laptop measures just 11.3 millimeters thick and weighs 2.7 pounds (1.2 kilograms). As for the battery life, the company is promising up to 18 hours of video playback and with an optional 67-watt power adapter it can charge up to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
The new Apple MacBook Air comes in four color options — Silver, Space Gray, Midnight, and Starlight. It will be available for purchase from next month with a starting price of $1,199.
Apple has officially announced its new M2 chipset at the company’s annual developers’ conference named Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The introduction of the M2 chip marks the debut of the second-generation Apple Silicon processors.
As the name itself indicates, Apple M2 is a successor to the M1 chipset announced a couple of months ago and comes with a promise of major performance improvements.
The new Apple M2 chip is using Apple’s custom ARM silicon and is built using the 5nm process with 20 billion transistors, which the company says is 25 percent more than the original M1 processor.
The company is also promising an 18 percent faster CPU and a 35 percent faster GPU compared to the M1. Apple also says that the performance is about 1.9x faster than the “latest 10-core PC laptop chip” but hasn’t directly named the competition.
Apple is also using new performance and efficiency cores on the M2. There are four high-performance cores, with four high-efficiency cores on the M2, with a shared 16MB cache on the performance cores, and a shared 4MB cache on the efficiency ones.
Coming to the GPU, there are now up to 10 cores, two more than the original M1. It also boosts graphics performance through a larger cache and higher memory bandwidth. Apple is promising up to 35 percent better performance compared to its predecessor.
It also comes with 100Gbps of memory bandwidth and 24GB of unified memory, which is 50 percent more bandwidth than the predecessor. The chip also features a next-generation secure enclave and neural engine. It also has an updated media engine that supports 8K H.264 and HEVC video. This means that it will be able to play multiple streams of 4K and 8K video simultaneously.
The new Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are the first devices from the company to come powered by the new Apple M2 chipset. Similar to its predecessor, we expect Apple to launch a few more variants of this new chip in the coming months.

Realme C30 design

The Realme C30’sv rear shell sports a distinct vertical grid design. In the top-left corner is a single camera module with an LED flash. As can be seen, it does not feature an unnecessary secondary macro or depth sensor. The renders confirm that the Realme C30 will come in blue and green colors, which could be marketed as Lake Blue and Bamboo Green. It is also rumored to arrive in Denim Black color.
Realme C30 specifications (rumored)
The new leak has no information on the Realme C30’s specifications. Reports have revealed that it will be equipped with a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel that offers an FHD+ resolution. It is likely to be powered by a Unisoc chip. However, the exact name of the chip is not known yet. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. The device will run on Android Go OS with Realme UI on top.

For photography, it may feature a 5-megapixel selfie camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The device is expected to hit the Indian market in two options: 2 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage. Lastly, the device will measure 8.48mm in thickness and weigh around 181 grams. It is expected to launch this month (June) in India.
Since the beginning of this year, the rumor mill has been leaking the design of the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra flagship. Most leaks including GizmoChina’s exclusive have revealed that its back panel will not feature a secondary display. Instead, it will come with a huge circular camera module with multiple cutouts for cameras and sensors. Well-known tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer has teamed up with publication Zoutonto leak the CAD renders of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The new images corroborate many of the previous leaks.
Xiaomi 12 Ultra design
Beginning from the front, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra can be seen sporting a punch-hole display with curved edges. The device measures 161.9 x 74.3 x 9.5mm. This means that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is thicker and slightly smaller than last year’s Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, which has a 164.3 x 74.6 x 8.4mm. This indicates that it may not feature the massive 6.81-inch screen, which was made available on the predecessor. The new leak states that it could house a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel.

Design
The design of the Honor 70 is very lovely and original. It comes with amazing textures on the rear side which vary depending on the chosen color option. It looks very elegant and futuristic and it wins the design comparison not only for its original look but also because it comes with a great curved screen with a very high screen to body ratio. Last but not least, it is thinner and lighter than its rival. The Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus has an important added value: it is splash resistant and dust resistant thanks to the IP53 certification, but there is no way for it to compete with the Honor 70 in terms of aesthetics. So if you are looking for the most beautiful phone, you know what to choose.
Display
Do you care about having the best possible image quality? If so, you should definitely go for the Honor 70. It has a stunning OLED display that shows up to one billion colors with a 6.67-inch diagonal, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It provides brighter colors and deeper blacks thanks to its OLED panel, while the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus has a more disappointing LCD display with inferior image quality. On the other hand, it features a higher 144 Hz refresh rate and this is a good element for gamers and for those seeking the smoothest viewing experience. The Honor 70 has an in-display fingerprint reader, while on the Redmi Note it is side-mounted.
Specs & Software
The device with the highest performance here is the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus, thanks to the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max mobile platform running at a max frequency of 2.85 GHz. This chipset is an upgrade of the Dimensity 8100 with better AI performance and it is actually the best MediaTek SoC after the Dimensity 9000. Inside the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus, it is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of native storage. The Snapdragon 778G+ found on the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus is just a midrange chipset, even though it is the best Qualcomm midrange chipset if we exclude the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Both the phones run Android 12 out of the box with customized user interfaces on top.
Camera
The best camera phone in this comparison and even the only one which can be considered a high-end camera phone in this duo is the Honor 70. It comes with the new 54 MP Sony sensor paired with a great 50 MP ultrawide camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. The Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus is equipped with a 64 MP triple camera including an 8 MP ultrawide sensor. The Honor 70 wins even when it comes to the selfies, thanks to a 32 MP front camera.
The Honor 70 is the handset with the longest battery life because it is equipped with a 4800 mAh battery and it comes with a more efficient OLED display. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus is able to provide faster charging speeds thanks to 120W fast charging. Do you prefer having a longer battery life or faster charging speeds? You can let us know by using the comment box below.
Price
For now, the Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus and the Honor 70 are only sold in the Chinese market and their global availability is yet to come. The Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus hitten the shelves with a starting price of €300/$320 at the actual change, while the Honor 70 starts from €380/$407 in its base variant. The latest Honor mid-ranger wins the comparison because it offers a better OLED display and superior cameras, as well as a bigger battery. But the Redmi Note is a better option for a lot of gamers because of its higher refresh rate, better chipset, and faster charging tech.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is conducting tests on US-made electric bikes for mail delivery. The new electric cargo bikes are meant to reduce their reliance on gas-powered trucks.
The USPS had come under intense criticism after it announced plans to purchase 165,000 trucks from Oshkosh Defense Corp. It had stated plans of having up to 10% of the first batch accounting for electric vehicles. The percentage was increased to 20% of the first 50,000 deliveries. There was an uproar and litigation when the USPS announced its initial expansion plans.
The USPS electric cargo bike is a sturdy and well-suited bike for heavy loads. It is built by Montana-based Coaster Cycles. The electric mail bikes are built on the Freighter A W Platform. Its cargo compartment can take up to 73 sq. Ft. The compartment can hold up to 181kg of cargo.
Hydraulic disc brakes provide firm control for the cargo bike. The bike is powered by Bosch’s Cargo Line e-bike drive system. A 500Wh battery is on offer in the new e-bike. This can be scaled up with additional batteries. Automatic transmission based on Enviolo CVT provides less distraction for riders, while a backup camera and rear view mirrors are featured.
The USPS is expected to further embrace eco-friendly options in a less controversial manner. The lawsuit against USPS had shown that USPS had not carried out due diligence before signing the contract. There were indications that the environmental impact assessment was done after the contract was signed, which was unacceptable.
There seems to be a massive demand for the MA1 wireless Android Auto dongle. The device was released in January on Amazon and Target originally. Stocks for the MA1 have continued to be exhausted due to pent-up demand. A quiet launch of the Motorola MA1 wireless Android Auto adapter was done on Best Buy. The device has however been sold out, with the last units purchased by June 3.
The rapid demand for Motorola’s MA1 adapter is spurred by its affordability and plug-and-play capability. The MA1 costs $89.99 and has enjoyed a 5-star performance since its release. It has been only available on shelves for at most one month. It offers an excellent and convenient way of connecting Android Auto to a car.
Even with the shortages, the MA1 can still be purchased at Amazon through scalpers, albeit at a higher price. One observable challenge currently for the MA1 adapter is the lack of updates to its firmware. This could be the reason for observed lag issues when the MA1 is paired with some smartphones. This is in addition to the unavailability of the device amidst other difficult alternatives.

In response to the Xiaomi TV screen falling off, the company has announced a new self test application in China for its smart TV. This new app will help notify users if their Xiaomi TV is at risk of having its panel falling apart.
The Chinese tech giant released the new EA70 Self Check application in China last weekend. For those unaware, we had reported on two incidents in which smart TVs from the brand had their display panel fall off. The first incident was at a firm’s reception area and the second was at a user’s home. In both cases, the screen fell off without any external forces.
Xiaomi had initially stated that these two accidents were isolated incidents and were rare cases. But now, the brand came forward and stated that two batches with a production date between February 14th and March 20th faced a defect. This has prompted it to launch the self check app on the App Store, which will help users check if their smart TV are in any risk of falling apart.
Furthermore, the company also announced that it will be providing free on site maintenance service for EA70 TVs that are under the exclusive service plan. Users can also contact the official customer support to make an appointment for on site maintenance. It is even offering an additional two year extended warranty service for EA70 TVs as well.
