Sony LinkBuds S renders leak revealing a traditional design, ANC & Ambient modes

A new Sony LinkBuds model seems close to its unveiling, according to a recent leak. The Sony LinkBuds S bears some semblance to the LinkBuds but comes with ANC and Ambient modes.Sony LinkBuds S

The Sony LinkBuds are designed for extended use but noise cancellation functionality is absent. The new leak indicates a similar but possibly cheaper model that offers added features. As per the leak, the Sony LinkBuds S, unlike its predecessor, will not come with a hole in the middle of each ear tip. Therefore ambient sound is not allowed unimpeded. Instead, the LinkBuds S features an Ambient Mode to achieve ambient sound access. The Ambient Mode will be triggered automatically to switch between ANC mode and Ambient. Essentially, the buds will learn the user’s behavior to know the switching preferences.

The Active Noise Cancellation feature in the new LinkBuds S opens up the device to a larger customer base. In addition to ANC functionality, the LinkBuds S will offer a better audio experience when listening to music. The leak was silent on pricing and availability details for the LinkBuds S. The leaked images indicate that the LinkBuds S will come in gold, black and white colors. It is not clear at this time whether the LinkBuds S will be pricier than the Sony LinkBuds which retails at about $190.

The younger sibling of the previously launched Motorola Edge 30 Pro, the vanilla Edge 30 shares many design similarities with the Pro variant while going for a flatter and cleaner look. The device has a pill-shaped camera island slightly protruding from the back. The edges of the device are slightly curved and the right side houses the power button and volume rocker. Motorola has claimed the device to be the thinnest 5G phone yet with a thickness of just 6.79mm (excluding the camera bump).

Motorola Edge 30

Motorola Edge 30

The Edge 30 has another 50-megapixel sensor for its ultra-wide camera with 118° FOV which can also be used as a macro camera. Both the primary and ultrawide cameras are capable of 4K video recording at 30 FPS and 1080P video recording at 60FPS. The third cutout houses a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Honor seeks a $45 billion evaluation for its listing in China

Earlier this week, news surfaced regarding Honor planning a domestic listing. The company is apparently seeking an evaluation of a sizeable 45 billion US Dollars for its listing in China.

Recently, a new market research report from CINNO (Via ITHome) showed the quarterly sales result within the Chinese smartphone market. In this list, the Chinese smartphone maker ranked second overall, closing the gap between Oppo which had ranked first. The company had managed to sell over 12 million smartphone units during the first quarter of this year. This marks a 20.9 percent quarter on quarter growth and a whopping 176 percent growth year on year. In simpler terms, it’s clear that the company has come a long way since its independence from Huawei.

The brand had struggled with its operations within the first six months after it separated from its former parent company. India in talks with Intel & TSMC to setup local semiconductor plants

India is apparently in talks with major chip makers Intel, GlobalFoundries, and even TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) over possibly setting up advanced local semiconductor plants in the region.

India

According to an ETTelecom report, the move from India arrives as it seeks to bring more high tech manufacturing into the nation. Just last year, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government announced that it is setting up a 10 billion US Dollar incentive plan. This large sum would seek to cover around half of any chipmakers’ costs. To put things simply, the fund was an attempt in attracting display and semiconductor manufacturers to set up a plant in the country.

Through these incentives, the Indian government aims to rival its neighbor, China, and also become a notable figure in the electronics production segment. According to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a former Intel engineer, “Most of the pitches to these big companies, I’m making myself. We’re meeting the CEOs, talking to them, making presentations.” But unfortunately, the attempts at attracting any major chip giant are still questionable since firms like Samsung and TSMC invest tens of billions of dollars every year to expand their production capacity.

Furthermore, semiconductor production also requires high demand from the region the plants are set up. This includes logistics, water, and energy supply. At the moment, the venture between Vedanta Group and Foxconn Technology Group has shown interest in setting up semiconductor foundries within the nation. Although, Intel and TSMC have yet to show a similar level of commitment as of right now, but negotiations are still underway.

Watch: Ola S1 Pro e-scooter tied to donkey by owner after it breaks down

In a weird act of protest, the owner of an Ola S1 Pro walked around a town in India after the electric scooter broke down and stopped working. The owner made the public stunt against Ola Electric.

The S1 Pro user also shared the video online. The man from the Beed district of Maharashtra tied a donkey to the new electric scooter and walked it across town. Furthermore, the man claims that he faced lackluster after sales services from the EV unit of the popular ride hailing platform. Notably, the owner also attached a banner on the donkey and the S1 Pro electric scooter, which read “Beware of this fraudulent company, Ola” and, “Do not buy two wheelers of Ola Company.”

The man in question is Sachin Gitte, who bought the new yellow S1 Pro back in September 2021 but the delivery of the electric scooter was completed on 24th March 2022. However, Gitte said that the EV stopped working just a few days after, on April 8. The reason for this public stunt also arrived due to poor responses from the company regarding his electric scooter, not functioning. Sachin added that Ola Electric did not provide any solution even after the company sent a mechanic.

This news arrives just a couple of days after the company recalled 1,441 scooters in India. For those unaware, the brand’s S1 Pro model had caught fire in Pune, while other reports also highlighted other issues with the electric scooter. So, it remains to be seen just how Ola Electric responds to this stunt.
