Many manufacturers are trying to experiment with new designs or elements for laptops to make them more productive. Such devices are not for everyone but they are targeted to a niche audience. Now, it appears that Lenovo is working on a new design for a laptop.
The latest leak coming from Evan Blass shows an image of the upcoming 17-inch Lenovo ThinkBook Plus laptop with a secondary screen. The additional screen is located on the right side of the keyboard and has a size of a tablet.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Render
It further adds that the process, which started sometime last week, is currently limited to a small number of parts, such as flex cables. Also, the report says that the company is currently focusing on the US variant and will then work on other models.
As for the launch date, there’s no confirmation about it. Some reports indicate that the devices will go official towards the end of January 2022 while there are other reports indicating the launch sometime in February.
Earlier, there were reports about the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup getting launched in January but apparently, the launch has been pushed back to February as the company is now gearing up to launch the much-delayed Galaxy S21 FE in January 2022. This could happen during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022.
Coming to the specifications, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is rumored to sport a 6.8-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display with a 120HZ refresh rate. The phone will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC or the Exynos 2200 depending on the region.

Xiaomi has launched the Hey Plus Watch under crowdfunding at the Youpin platform. The smartwatch is perhaps the brand’s first smartwatch but we can’t confirm that. The Hey+ brand sprang into the limelight in 2018 when it launched the Hey+ Smartband. The brand later launched the Hey Plus 1s smart band in 2019 both packing AMOLED screens.
The Hey Plus watch comes equipped with a 1.78-inch AMOLED super retina full-screen display. The screen is a regular rounded rectangle with ultra-thin bezels at the edges. The smartwatch weighs about 38g and utilizes an aluminum alloy middle frame. The device supports custom short video dials and features up to 100 sports modes. It also supports Alipay payment
The watch packs an array of colorful straps which buyers can choose from. In terms of the battery life, the Hey+ watch’s battery can last up to 21 days in the Heavy use mode while in the Typical use mode, the battery life can go up to 29 days.
In addition, the watch also supports blood oxygen detection, 24-hour heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, breathing training, and message reminders. Each screen can display 72 Chinese characters, and messages, WeChat, QQ and other messages can be seen at a glance.
As stated earlier, the Hey Plus Watch is already up for crowdfunding on Xiaomi Youpin and is priced at 399 yuan (~$62). The wearable device is expected to start shipping before December 13, 2021.
A square-up of the just-released Google Pixel 6 Pro and the Galaxy S21 series in relation to their wireless charging capability and fingerprint detection has put the S21 ahead of the latest flagship offering from Google. Both smartphones are powered by Samsung-produced chips, among a few other similarities. Both devices also come with a 5,000mAh battery, with 30W fast charging available with the Pixel 6 Pro.
A tech industry insider has now placed both smartphones side by side by testing their charging speeds and it seems the Galaxy S21 trumps the Pixel 6 Pro, which is a bit unexpected. With the 30W fast charging potential of the Pixel 6 Pro, it is expected to ultimately be faster than the normal wired charging. The results showed that the Galaxy S21 achieved 30% charging by the 15-minute mark while the Pixel 6 Pro had just 24%. The Pixel 6 had only achieved 84% charge by the 66-minute mark when the S21 had already reached 100%.
There is no mention of whether this experiment was replicated and this could be misleading if not interrogated within the context of the charging test itself. The Galaxy S21 series, according to the report, also had faster recognition speeds for fingerprints than the Pixel 6 Pro. This difference in speed could at best be marginal, as both devices are capable of quick fingerprint detection within seconds.
The conditions under which these tests were carried out were not fully specified, and it is difficult to make a direct conclusion on the charging speeds for both devices. The conclusions are therefore not definitive.
Founder of audio accessories maker Nothing, Carl Pei has accused an unnamed competitor of its ear (1) earbuds of attacking the company’s supply chain for the product. Pei made the revelation in a blog post to mark the first anniversary of the founding of the company. Obviously, as per the Pei blog post, the company has seen tremendous growth in the first year of its operation and has an overall great outlook, even if industry watchers feel the founder’s optimism may be overstretching the reality.
Pei stated that a major competitor was attacking the Nothing brand in the supply chain by trying to block the company’s access to important components needed to build the ear (1) earbuds. He also alleged that a proximate reason for the alleged action by the competitor could be the price tag of the Nothing ear (1). With loads of functionality available in the Nothing ear (1) including active noise cancellation, its price of $99 was seen as highly competitive for a start. Much of the established products with similar features were priced up to or even more than twice the price of the ear (1).
Pei says the goal within its first year of operations was to make the Nothing brand to be visible and this has been achieved. The Nothing ear (1) earbuds priced at $99, in the words of the founder, are selling like hotcakes, with up to 320,000 orders received for the true wireless earbuds since the product unveiling. About 180,000 of the Nothing ear (1) earbuds have been shipped so far, with up to 600,000 units forecasted to be shipped overall. The company has surmounted several challenges culminating in its formation and eventual manufacture of the Nothing ear (1) true wireless earbuds with ANC.
Pei continues to project an improved second year for the company and there are hints that the company may release a smartphone soon. This will shift the perception of the company as an audio/ headphone company and open it up for more investments. One note reminder however is apt – Carl Pei has had a seemingly flawless performance as the co-founder of OnePlus, and he could well replicate the OnePlus success story with his new company.
