Dubai-based luxury smartphone manufacturer Caviar has once again pushed the boundaries of opulence with its latest release: a solid gold iPhone 16 Pro in the exclusive Desert Titanium color. This limited-edition device is part of Caviar’s “Art & Gold” collection, which combines exquisite craftsmanship with the latest technology.
Caviar’s Art & Gold Collection
Inspired by Apple‘s September 9th presentation, Caviar’s designers sought to complement the iPhone 16 Pro’s new color palette with variations in white, red, and yellow gold. The result is a stunning collection of smartphones that are truly works of art.
The flagship model of this collection is the iPhone 16 Pro, whose case is entirely crafted from 18-karat gold in a shade that perfectly matches the new Desert Titanium color introduced by Apple. Caviar’s artisans have drawn inspiration from various artistic epochs, incorporating motifs from medieval Gothic, Art Deco, and modern parametric designs into the gold ornamentation.
The “Symphony” model, for example, features a parametric pattern based on an Archimedean spiral, combining symmetry and the golden ratio. The phone’s Apple logo is also crafted from 18-karat gold in the Desert Titanium color.
In addition to the Symphony model, Caviar is offering two other limited-edition iPhone 16 Pro models: the Duomo and the Paramount. Each model boasts unique gold ornamentation and is available in both 18-karat and 24-karat gold versions.
The custom iPhone 16 Pro/Max models are priced between $10,630 and $62,740, depending on the gold purity and design. With extremely limited availability, these devices are sure to be highly sought after by collectors and those who appreciate the finer things in life.

The Tensor G4 was released with the Pixel 9 series in August. The tech community, including us at Gizmochina, was expecting some significant improvements over last year’s Tensor G3, but the benchmark results surprised us.
The Google Tensor G4 lags behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by a good margin on benchmarks (see the Tensor G4 vs. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 comparison).
According to Google, the new Tensor chip offers 20% faster web browsing, 17% faster app launching, and up to 20% improved power efficiency. But how does it perform on benchmarks against the Tensor G3? And is it worth spending extra cash for Tensor G4? Let’s compare the two chips to find the answer.
Let’s begin our comparison with the spec sheet:

Tensor G4 vs Tensor G3: Benchmarks
[Note: For testing on different benchmarks, we picked the Pixel 9 Pro XL (powered by the Tensor G4) and the Pixel 8 Pro (powered by the Tensor G3).]
[Geekbench 6]
It’s a CPU-centric test that runs a device through a series of computation workloads, including compression (text & images), encryption, physics simulations, rendering, ray tracing, and speech recognition.
The benchmarking platform outputs single-core and multi-core results. The single-core score shows the device/chip capability when a single core is used, and the multi-core score tells the CPU performance when multiple cores are at work.
The latest Tensor G4 manages to pull off higher points in both single-core and multi-core tests than last year’s Tensor G3. However, the difference is not significant. Let’s look at some more benchmarks for better understanding.

AnTuTu is a popular benchmarking platform that measures the CPU, GPU, memory, and UX performance of devices.
It’s quite surprising to see the Tensor G3 leading the CPU chart on AuTuTu 10, that too, by a significant margin. While GPU, memory, and UX scores went in favor of Tensor G4.

Tensor G4 vs Tensor G3: Key Differences
Samsung has manufactured the Tensor G4 and Tensor G3 using its 4 nm process node. However, the Tensor G4 has been manufactured using a newer technology, which translates to better efficiency.
The Tensor G3 has nine CPU cores, while the Tensor G4 has one less CPU core. It doesn’t mean lower performance or efficiency on the latest Tensor chip as it has high-performance and more efficient cores.
The latest Tensor chip has one Cortex-X4 prime core clocked at 3.1 GHz (vs. Cortex-X3 @ 2.91 GHz). The four Cortex-A720 performance cores also run at a higher clock speed than the Cortex-A715 in the Tensor G3. The remaining Cortex-A520 cores are more power-efficient than Cortex-A510 in Tensor G3.
Both chips have the same 7-core Mali-G715 GPU, although the newer chip runs at a higher clock frequency for better peak performance.
Tensor G4 doesn’t bring a big performance leap over last year’s Tensor G3, and Google is okay with it. Tensor chips have never been about blazing-fast performance; they’re more about unique features. “When we are designing the chip, we’re not designing it for speeds and feats. We’re not designing it to beat some specific benchmark that’s out there. We’re designing it to meet our use cases,” said Soniya Jobanputra, a key member of Google’s Pixel product management team.
The focus with Tensor G4 was not to beat benchmarks but to improve the speed and efficiency of opening apps. “We knew that we had a pain point with opening apps. And so as we built G4, we really focused on, okay, what do we need to do to make sure that experience is better for users,” Jobanputra added.
Besides CPU and GPU performance, some key changes have been made to improve connectivity. Tensor G4 has a new Exynos 5400 modem, which offers a 50% higher peak download speed. The new chip also supports satellite connectivity, which will be enabled when upgrading to Android 15, which is lacking on Tensor G3.
Tensor G4 vs Tensor G3: Verdict
Even though Tensor G4 has the latest ARM CPU cores, performance has not gone up drastically compared to last year’s Tensor G3. The GPU is unchanged, but it now runs at a higher clock frequency that might offer better peak performance, but again, it’s not a big deal.
On benchmarks, the Tensor G4 can’t even match the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, released in 2022. So, Google seems a generation behind the latest chips from Qualcomm and Apple as far as performance is concerned. However, Tensor chips enable AI features you wouldn’t find on non-Pixel devices.
The bottom line is Tensor G4 is not a major upgrade over Tensor G3. However, we see big improvements coming next year, as Google will reportedly switch to TSMC for the manufacturing of Tensor G5 using its cutting-edge technology.

Acer has launched a new gaming laptop in India. It is called the Acer Aspire 7. The device packs powerful specifications and caters to gamers on a budget who don’t want to burn a hole in their wallet. Some key highlights of the laptop include a high refresh rate display, an Intel Core processor along with a Nvidia GPU, and more. Read on to know all the technical details below.
Acer Aspire 7 specifications and features
The Acer Aspire 7 boasts a 15.6-inch screen bearing an FHD+ display resolution. It has a 144Hz refresh rate for a smooth and immersive gaming experience. The laptop features a full-sized backlit keyboard with a dedicated number pad. The device comes with dual stereo speakers and a 1MP webcam. The machine weighs just 1.99 kg.
Internally, the Acer Aspire 7 houses the 13th generation Intel Core i5 processor. There is an option to opt for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 GPU with 4GB VRAM or GeForce RTX 3050 with 6GB VRAM. The laptop packs 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The Aspire 7 is backed by a 54Wh battery unit that is claimed to last 7 hours on a single charge. It ships with Windows 11 OS.
The Aspire 7 packs a host of connectivity options including WiFi-6, USB 3.2 Type-C, Type-A port, HDMI, Ethernet, and Bluetooth.
The Acer Aspire 7 with RTX 2050 costs Rs 61,990 whereas the RTX 3050 model is priced at Rs 67,990. The laptop can be purchased from the brand’s online store and Flipkart starting today. It comes in a Steel Gray color.
The rumor mill for upcoming flagship processors continues to churn. Hot on the heels of leaked results for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, MediaTek‘s contender, the Dimensity 9400, has made an appearance on Geekbench.
This time, however, it’s not a traditional CPU test but an AI benchmark score that’s surfaced on the benchmarking platform.
The results show the Dimensity 9400 scoring 1,501 points in Single Precision, 1,906 points in Half Precision, and 1,793 points in Quantized tasks. Since Geekbench’s AI benchmark is a new tool, we don’t have enough data to compare these results against competitors like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
What’s notable is that the benchmark confirms the octa-core CPU configuration of the Dimensity 9400. The setup is a three-cluster affair, with a single high-performance Cortex-X5 core running at 3.63 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores at 2.80 GHz for additional power, and four Cortex-A725 cores at 2.10 GHz for handling everyday tasks.
At a glance, the 3.63 GHz peak speed for Dimensity 9400 seems underwhelming compared to the competition. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 rumors suggest a top clock of 4.32 GHz, and Apple’s A18 series supposedly reaches 4.04 GHz.
However, if we look at previous leaks, the SoC is still claimed to offer 30% performance improvement, 35% better energy efficiency, and a whopping 40% uplift in AI performance. Now is that improvement enough to beat or level the play with Qualcomm and Apple rivals? We must wait to see.
The wait might not be long now since the first phone with the Dimensity 9400 is expected to launch in early October. It’s the Vivo X200 series that’s rumored to be the first. It will then likely be followed by the Oppo Find X8 line which also uses the same chip.
A report earlier this week revealed that Samsung‘s upcoming Galaxy S24 FE will be priced higher than last year’s Galaxy S23 FE. Reliable tipster Arsene Lupin has now shared what could be the official prices for the phone.
Lupin posted on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the Galaxy S24 FE will cost €749 for the 128GB version and €809 for the 256GB version in Europe. These prices confirm the earlier rumors that the S24 FE will be more expensive than its predecessor.
The tipster also revealed that the phone will come in Graphite, Mint, Yellow, and Blue, and shared renders of all color variants, which we have attached below:
Galaxy S24 FE Specifications
The S24 FE is rumored to boast a larger display – a 6.7-inch panel compared to the S23 FE’s 6.4-inch. This would be the biggest display ever seen on a Galaxy Fan Edition phone, nearing the size of the flagship S24 Ultra.
Under the hood, the S24 FE is expected to pack either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or the Exynos 2400 – the same chips powering the flagship S24 lineup.
However, there might be a slight caveat. The Exynos chip on the Galaxy S24 FE is expected to have a lower clock speed than the one found in the regular S24 series. By 100MHz, it’s rumored. This variant will likely be sold in Europe and Asia.
The same could apply to the Snapdragon variant in the US. Basically, you might get a slightly detuned version of the flagship chip.
Moreover, previous leaks suggest the camera setup will remain the same as the S23 FE. You can expect a 50MP main with OIS, an 8MP telephoto a 12 MP ultrawide lens on the back, and a 10MP camera for selfies. If you were hoping for a major camera upgrade to justify the price hike, you might be disappointed.
The South Korean tech giant has released the One UI 6.1.1 update for last year’s Galaxy S23 series (Via AndroidAuthority). In other words, the older flagship Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are now receiving this update. Apart from these three models, Samsung has also rolled out the update for the previous gen Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Availability & Download Size
Unfortunately, this update is currently only available in South Korea. So we can expect a wider release soon in regions like US, UK, Asia, and Europe. The One UI 6.1.1 update is over 2GB in size, so make sure you have enough space before downloading and installing the software upgrade.
The Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are getting the S918NKSU4CXH7/S918NOKR4CXH7/S918NKSU4CXH7 firmware versions respectively. Even the Galaxy S23 FE is receiving the S711NKSU3BXH7 build number. Owners of this Samsung device in the US should get the One UI 6.1.1 update on their Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Fold 5 within this week.
What’s New?
Samsung’s One UI 6.1.1 is a major update that brings a bunch of new features. This includes a series of AI powered tools with Galaxy AI. Users get a Composer, Interpreter Listening Mode, Suggested Replies, Sketch to Image, and much more. The update also brings the September 2024 Android security patch.
Vivo today expanded its T3 series lineup with the launch of the T3 Ultra in India. It’s the fifth phone in the series, following the T3, T3x, T3 Lite, and T3 Pro. The T3 Ultra positions itself in the upper mid-range segment and goes head-to-head against the phones like the OnePlus Nord 4 and Poco F6.
Vivo T3 Ultra Specifications

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC, the same chipset found in Vivo’s flagship V40 Pro. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM with additional “extended RAM” technology and up to 256GB of storage.
As for the cameras, the rear setup features a 50MP Sony IMX921 primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) alongside an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. The phone also has Aura ring LED light along with AI-powered features like AI Photo Enhance and AI Erase. On the front, you’ll find a 50MP selfie camera.

Price and Availability

The phone comes in two color options – Lunar Grey and Forest Green – with three storage variants: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage (Rs 31,999), 8GB RAM + 256GB storage (Rs 33,999), and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage (Rs 35,999).
Samsung is working on several new entry-level and mid-range products. Today, we got our first look at the Galaxy M55s, and shortly after, another upcoming Samsung phone surfaced in high-quality renders.
This time, it’s the entry-level Galaxy A16 5G, whose render has come to light courtesy of the publication Android Headlines. As is typical for Samsung now, the phone features vertically aligned triple camera rings on the back, with a glossy finish.
The frame is flat, and there’s a raised bar on the right for the volume controls and the power/fingerprint button. Samsung calls it a “Key Island” design. Up front, the screen has a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera. The bezels are also noticeable, especially the chin at the bottom.
The leak doesn’t reveal anything about the phone’s specifications. But it is expected to have a 5000mAh battery. It also appeared on Geekbench with two different chips: the Dimensity 6300 (SM-A166P) and the Exynos 1330 (SM-A166E).
We are not sure if Samsung will ship the phone with different chips on different markets, but that could be the case going by benchmark.
The phone is also rumored to feature a 50 MP primary camera, 5 MP secondary camera, and 2 MP macro camera. On the front, it will likely feature a 13 MP selfie sensor.
A 4G variant of the Galaxy A16 has also appeared in the UK carrier database, though details about it are scarce at the moment. However, we expect the phone to share design elements with the 5G model.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 is rumored to launch in December. That’s about three months from now. By then, we’ll likely learn more about its specs.

Huawei unveiled the Mate XT Ultimate Designthis week as the world’s first tri-fold smartphone. It’s undeniably a technological marvel with a unique design, unlike anything we’ve seen before.
The innovation unsurprisingly comes at a cost – a hefty one in fact. The starting price for the phone itself sits at a cool CNY 19,999, translating to a staggering $2,809 or €2,549.
However, the sticker shock doesn’t stop there. The Mate XT Ultimate brings a whole new level of “ouch” when it comes to repairs. According to official repair prices released by Huawei, a cracked screen replacement will cost a staggering CNY 7,999 ($1,123 or €1,019).
Huawei Mate XT
There are some cost-saving options, though limited. A select number of screen replacements are available for CNY 6,999 ($983, €892), but these are likely in short supply. Additionally, users can purchase screen replacement insurance for CNY 3,499 or CNY 3,999 ($491-$561, €446-€509) which covers one replacement within the first year.
The high cost extends beyond the screen. A motherboard replacement carries a hefty price tag of CNY 9,099 ($1,278, €1,160) – more than the cost of many mid-range smartphones. Thankfully, a battery replacement is a more reasonable CNY 499 ($70, €63).
The unique tri-fold design also means multiple back covers. Replacing the back with the camera module will cost CNY 1,379 ($193, €175), while the other two sections cost CNY 399 each ($56, €50).
Individual camera repairs also come with a price: CNY 578 for the telephoto lens ($81, €73), CNY 379 for the selfie camera ($53, €48), CNY 759 for the main rear camera ($106, €96), and CNY 269 for the ultrawide ($37, €34).
For those considering the Mate XT Ultimate, the message is clear: handle it with care. The innovative design comes with premium costs, not just upfront but throughout its lifespan.
TECNO, a leading technology brand, has extended its partnership with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to support its global primary education program. Since the collaboration began in 2020, the initiative has been focused on providing quality education for refugee children and young people across Africa.
In the past four years, the partnership has positively impacted 17,370 refugee children and 40 refugee scholars from the DAFI program. It has also provided essential support to teachers and schools. In 2024, TECNO’s contributions will help over 7,000 children in Kenya as part of an effort to enroll 11,500 new refugee students this year.
Kenya, which hosts 774,370 refugees as of May 2024, is the fifth largest refugee-hosting country in Africa. Refugee camps like Dadaab and Kakuma, as well as the Kalobeyei Settlement Center, house more than 217,000 school-aged children. Despite efforts, only 53% of these children are enrolled in schools, highlighting the urgent need for educational support.
TECNO’s 2024 financial contributions are aimed at improving educational outcomes by providing students with materials, hygiene kits for girls, better school infrastructure, and resources for teachers. These efforts are crucial in giving refugee children the opportunity to thrive.
UNHCR Deputy Representative in China, Adriani Wahjanto, praised TECNO’s continued support, stating, “Their commitment helps bridge the gap in access to education for refugee children and creates opportunities for a brighter future.” Jack Guo, TECNO’s General Manager, added, “Education is the key to changing the destiny of refugee children, and we are proud to support this cause.”
With this renewed partnership, TECNO and UNHCR are working together to help improve education for refugee children in Kenya and beyond, providing them with a chance for a better future.
Samsung launched the Galaxy M55 and Galax F55 earlier this year. Looks like the company is prepping another device in that same vein. The phone in question is the Galaxy M55s that just showed up in leaked renders revealing a bit of a unique design from its siblings.
Like most Samsung mid-range phones, the M55s’ back panel is likely made of plastic. But it gets a unique textural treatment. There are at least three distinct textures visible on the renders, and that is very different from the matte finishes of the M55 and F55.
While the design is a clear differentiator, the leaked specifications paint a more familiar picture. The M55s are expected to mirror the existing M55 and F55 in terms of core hardware.
It is said to come with a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and a triple rear camera system featuring a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor.
For selfies, there will be a 50MP front-facing camera. Memory option is said to include 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (with likely microSD expansion capabilities) while the device will be fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging support.
This isn’t the first time that the Galaxy M55s has made headlines. Back in July, it received Wi-Fi Alliance certification. Last month, a Geekbench listing seemingly confirmed a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset under the hood. Now, we have also got a look at its design.
However, it’s unclear when the company is planning to launch the smartphone. We will keep you updated on the matter.
