The new update is not compatible with iOS devices according to Huawei.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-463596" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3.png?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3" width="1384" height="766" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3.png 1384w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3-300x166.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3-1024x567.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3-768x425.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3-696x385.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3-1068x591.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/huawei-watch-3-759x420.png 759w" sizes="(max-width: 1384px) 100vw, 1384px" /></a></p>
<p>Users of the Huawei Watch 3 can update their devices by first opening the Huawei Health app and checking for updates. They will then follow the prompts to download and install the software update. It has to be noted that the smart car key function currently supports only AITO M5 electric vehicles.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-aito-m5.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-432852" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-aito-m5.png?x44794" alt="Huawei AITO M5 EV" width="549" height="519" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-aito-m5.png 549w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-aito-m5-300x284.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/huawei-aito-m5-444x420.png 444w" sizes="(max-width: 549px) 100vw, 549px" /></a></p>
<p>The Wenjie M5 is a culmination of Huawei’s partnership with AITO. It grossed over 5,000 deliveries for the first time last month. The Wenjie M5 currently stands at over 11,000 units delivered, which is quite impressive.</p>

<p>The new release (via: <a href="https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_watch_3_gets_harmonyos_2_in_china-news-51007.php">GSMArena</a>) brings along a couple of cool feature additions. SMS reply from the watch itself is now possible and the support for playing a wide variety of music formats from the local storage has been added. The raise-to-wake function has also been further improved.</p>

<p>The watch also gains a new hand-washing detection feature that can help your wash your hands more effectively, based on scientific research. And last but not the least, you can now try out paid watches before having to purchase them. The trial period lasts for 5 minutes.</p>
<p>Last month, the Huawei Watch 3 <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/08/31/huawei-watch-3-series-latest-update-brings-smart-gesture-control/">bagged an update</a> that added the gesture control feature. If for some reason, you have missed the feature, you can simply head over to the application menu and click on Settings &gt; Accessibility &gt; Gestures to access it.</p>

<p>The three smart gestures that will be available to users include raising your wrist and rubbing your fingers on the screen to open the Alipay QR code for contactless payment. The second one is making a fist and releasing it to answer an incoming call and finally, flipping the wrist to mute the call instantly is the third gesture. These are pretty cool and we expect the company to add more gesture control options in the future.</p>
<p>The Huawei Watch 3 series comprising of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/02/huawei-watch-3-watch-3-pro-flagship-smartwatches-harmonyos-2-launched/">Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro</a> was released in June this year after a hiatus since 2017 when the Watch 2 was released. The four-year wait was apparently worth it as the watch comes with several interesting features including a 3D rotating crown as well as a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 X 466 pixels, a pixel density of up to 326PPI, a maximum brightness of 1000nit, and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The watch also features a stainless steel body, a 3D large-curvature mirror design, a 450mAH battery and is available in different strap options.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/huawei-watch-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-409616" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/huawei-watch-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3" width="600" height="4227" /></a></p>
<p>It runs on Huawei&#8217;s homegrown HarmonyOS 2 which is availing users of this cool new feature. Apart from gesture control, the watch also features 100+ sports modes, supports temperature, heart rate monitoring, fall detection, sedentary reminder among others. You also get support for remote camera shutter, music control, remote car control, smart home control, etc.</p>
<p>There is no release schedule yet for this update but since the watch is sold in markets outside China, we expect this feature to be available on the global version too.</p>

The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-matepad-pro-12-6-2021/">MatePad Pro 12.6</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-matepad-pro-10-8-2021/">MatePad Pro 10.8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-matepad-11-2021/">MatePad 11</a> as well as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/06/09/huawei-watch-3-review-a-premium-smartwatch-powered-by-harmony-os/">Watch 3</a> series are mong the first products that were announced to be powered by the latest cross-device HarmonyOS 2. The self-developed OS comes with a distributed data management and task scheduling capabilities which will allow the Watch 3 and MatePad Pro to be able to pair with other intelligent devices such as smartphones, PCs, monitors. The potential which this cross-device capability brings is just enormous.</p>

Indeed, the newly-announced <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/huawei-watch-3">Huawei Watch 3</a> runs HarmonyOS 2.0 out of the box. Does the new version of Huawei&#8217;s proprietary operating system make the Huawei Watch 3 a better smartwatch than <a href="http://gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-watch-3">Samsung Galaxy Watch 3</a>? Here is a specs comparison between the two smartest wearable devices without Wear OS which will give you a  glimpse of the differences between these wearables.</p>

<h3>Design</h3>
<p>Huawei Watch 3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 are not so different in terms of aesthetics. If you love minimalistic designs, then you will like the Huawei Watch 3 due to its higher screen-to-body ratio. But if you prefer having better usability and a sophisticated watch, then you may like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 more due to its rotating bezel which can become very helpful while navigating through the user interface. The Huawei Watch 3 is built with a glass front, a  ceramic back, and a stainless steel frame. With the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, you get either a stainless steel frame (316L) or a titanium frame, as well as a glass front protected by Corning&#8217;s Gorilla Glass  DX. Both the smartwatches are waterproof: the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 has the IP68 certification which makes it 50m water resistant, and so is the Huawei Watch  3. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is thinner because it packs a smaller battery and it is even lighter, which makes it even more elegant and ergonomic.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Display</h3>
<p>The Huawei Watch 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 come with great displays: they are AMOLED panels with sizes of 1.43 and 1.4 inches, respectively, showing vibrant colors and deep blacks. The Huawei Watch 3 has a higher resolution with 466 x 466 pixels, so it has a higher level of definition. That is why it wins the display comparison. But the rotating bezel of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 makes it easier to navigate the user interface. In each case, you get a touch screen. As mentioned above, Huawei Watch 3 has narrower bezels around the display.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Specs &amp; Software</h3>
<p>The Huawei Watch 3 has more powerful hardware than Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. It packs 2 gigs of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, while you get just 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. You can save a lot more data with the Huawei Watch 3 and you should also get better performance. Which is the best operating system between HarmonyOS 2.0 and Tizen OS? It is still too early to say it because HarmonyOS 2.0 just went official and no one had the chance to test it thoroughly. Note that HarmonyOS 2.0 is currently an operating system present not only in the Chinese market but in the global market too. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is sold globally as well and it comes with Tizen OS which supports several globally available apps, including the payment service Samsung Pay. Huawei Watch 3 supports a lot more sports modes than Samsung Galaxy Watch 3.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Sensors and connectivity</h3>
<p>Huawei Watch 3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 are equipped with a lot of sensors and modules to track physical activity better than with other activity trackers. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is actually a better smartwatch for those who want to track health and wellness because it is one of the few ones supporting the ECG function. Further, it is able to monitor blood pressure monitor. On the other hand, Huawei Watch 3 is able to measure body temperature with a thermometer, which is useful when it comes to Covid-19. But it does not support the ECG feature which is definitely more advanced. However, Huawei Watch 3 is a more advanced device for sports tracking because it supports more sports modes. Both the smartwatches have the GPS, the SpO2 sensor, and the eSIM connectivity allowing you to use cellular connectivity without a physical SIM inside.</p>

</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Battery</h3>
<p>The battery of the Huawei Watch 3 is way bigger than the one found on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, that is why it should offer a longer battery life. We are talking about 450 mAh against just 340 mAh. Both the wearables support wireless charging.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Price</h3>
<p>Huawei Watch 3 is priced at €369/$438 in the global market, while Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 costs €279/$332. Overall, Huawei Watch 3 should offer better usability due to its bigger battery, better memory configurations. But with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3, you can pay with Samsung Pay, monitor ECG stats, and pressure level, which are very useful and advanced features. Which one would you pick?</p>

Although with its limited display size, it’s not suitable for complicated scenarios but as the technology matures, we are able to squeeze out more features from the compact smartwatch.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of our most anticipated smart wearables this year has finally arrived, the HUAWEI Watch 3. And we think it’s an excellent example to showcase how a smartwatch can be much more than a fitness tracker. </span></p>
<p><iframe loading="lazy" title="HUAWEI Watch 3 Review: All-round player powered by Harmony OS" width="696" height="392" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/F5QKZFHa9nY?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Huawei Watch 3 is the company’s first smart wearable running Harmony OS, a brand new platform for all kinds of smart devices including smartwatches. This is actually the main reason why we’re so curious about this new watch. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">And we finally have it in our hands!</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-394001" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3 featured Review 24" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-24-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In addition to Huawei’s excellent fitness tracking features, the Huawei Watch 3 brings smartwatch-centric features including running apps and eSIM support for mobile data and independent calls. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In this review, we will tell you a couple of good reasons why you should consider getting this new watch. And of course, as usual, we’ll highlight its drawbacks too.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anyway, after wearing it for a few days, we have to admit that it’s one of the most versatile smartwatches we have had and it could be one of the best alternatives to the Apple Watch. </span></p>
<h4><strong>Huawei Watch 3 Review: Design</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-394000" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3 featured Review 23" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-23-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The model in our hand is a standard version that features a 1.43-inch round 60Hz AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1000nits. The display is slightly bigger and brighter as well while retaining the same 326PPI resolution.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The dial body is made of stainless steel, while </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">the skin-friendly silicone strap is removable. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">In terms of hardware, the Watch 3 has few upgrades over the GT2. The operating memory gets a solid boost up to 2GB and internal storage is 16GB for both models. </span></p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17.jpg?x44794'><img width="300" height="169" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-300x169.jpg?x44794" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On the right side of the dial, we can see a very familiar button combination, including a crown button for page scrolling and another down button for feature shortcuts. When rolling the crown button, the animation of the interface is very smooth with similar vibration feedback to the Apple watches.</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">When compared to its predecessor, the dial is a bit thicker and heavier. But considering the increase of functions, it’s still acceptable.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The watch has a typical classic watch box containing the usual set of user manuals, a wireless magnetic wireless charger, and the device itself. </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393989" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3 Review 15" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-15-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">An interesting detail we accidently came across was that the watch supports wireless charging using third-party chargers. This wasn’t clearly mentioned in its product description. However, we found that when charging with a third-party wireless charger, the watch easily heated up and shut down after a short time. So we’re still unsure if it’s safe to charge the watch using a regular Qi wireless charger. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Given the fact that the watch did charge up, we really hope that Huawei can fix the heating issue via a future firmware update and make it an officially supported feature.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Watch 3 comes with a 5ATM waterproof rating, which means that it can be used for shallow-water activities such as pool swimming. But it is not suitable for underwater activities like diving. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As for its connectivity and audio features, it is just like a mini-smartphone, supporting Bluetooth, NFC, WiFi, mobile data, and independent calling powered by the eSIM. To independently work like a smartphone, it also features a microphone and speaker for calls, text speech, and voice assistants. As for NFC, it seems that most NFC features are restricted to China. </span></p>
<h4><strong>Huawei Watch 3 Review: Fitness Features</strong></h4>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393984" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-11-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As with Huawei Watch GT 2 Series and other wearables from the brand, reliable fitness tracking has always been one of our favorite features on Huawei watches &#8212; including step count, all-day heart rate, caloric burn, and other exercise statics. In addition to the existing fitness tracking features, the Watch 3 offers continuous blood oxygen monitoring, new body temperature detection features, a </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">breathing tracker</span><span style="font-weight: 400;">, as well as AI-based health diagnosis. But note that specific health diagnosis features may only be available in China, such as the heart health reports.  </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393988" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-14-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As for exercise tracking, the Huawei Watch 3 offers over 100 sports modes and provides plenty of extra courses for running. In every sports mode, you are able to set up a goal in terms of distance, calories, time, and so on. And after using it for tracking a run and other exercises, we felt that the new Harmony OS didn’t bring any major changes when compared to its predecessor. But we believe that the GPS and statistics are more accurate on the new model.  </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">When tracking a run, it can give you an accurate route, pace frequency and length, training stress, recovery time, and more. And all this data will immediately sync to the connected smartphone, which is even more detailed. Further, using this data, the app can generate a short video about the dynamic route on the map. </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393987" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-13-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, let’s talk about its new fitness tracking features. You can turn on the continuous blood oxygen monitoring, and set up an alert to remind you of any potential risks when the figure drops below a risk value. And another new feature, the body temperature detection, is extremely useful considering the covid pandemic. With the watch, you can immediately detect your skin temperature and a rough body temperature anytime and anywhere, and then set up alerts for informing about a fever or hypothermia. </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393978" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-07-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Also in our experience, Huawei’s TruSleep<img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/13.1.0/72x72/2122.png" alt="™" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> technology feels more accurate and detailed in sleep tracking. It can detect the user’s breathing patterns, and diagnose 6 types of sleeping problems. And you can check the quality assessments and view some suggestions for your sleep in the official Health app. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">  </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393992" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-17-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Except for the Apple Watch, most smartwatches have to run the Google’s Wear OS platform if they want to support a lot of third party apps. But since Google’s Wear OS platform has failed to deliver a satisfying user experience, most of these watches don’t perform well. And now thanks to the latest Harmony OS, the Huawei Watch 3 is a Brand-new option for users. </span></p>
<h4><strong>Huawei Watch 3 Review: HarmonyOS for smartwatches</strong></h4>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Let’s take a deeper look at the watch OS. The Harmony OS at this point is not really about a revolution, but it’s focused on helping Huawei get rid of the limits of Google’s Android with a complete alternative. It’s pretty amazing that Huawei is able to develop its OS in such a short time, though it remains to be seen whether it’s more innovative and better than the Android platform. To be honest, initially it’s not really important if it&#8217;s better than Android. What really matters is that we have a viable alternative. And after seeing the Huawei Watch 3 and the Harmony OS Beta version on smartphones, we think it’s very much possible for Huawei to become a major market player with its HarmonyOS in the near future. </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393977" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-06-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Coming back to the Huawei Watch 3, the software experience is pretty delightful, which is also partly attributed to the 60Hz display. But anyway, it ran so smoothly that we didn’t really find any obvious lags or glitches on the Watch 3. Huawei has also optimized the animation of the watch interface to better fit the round display. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Running apps is a new feature for the series. So far, there aren’t many apps on the watch’s apps gallery, and the apps available vary depending on your region. But Huawei claims more apps will be added to this list.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We also found that most apps still play a role of reminder or controller for the smartphone, which usually needs to interact with the phone apps. As for LTE network and native calling, you have to make sure that your carrier supports the e-SIM function. It’s extremely useful for those who wanna stay online when exercising, without carrying a bulky phone.  </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393973" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-02-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">With most features turned on, the watch didn’t last very long on a single charge. In the smart mode it ran out of charge after 3 days. But when compared to other smartwatches that come with similar features, like the Apple watch, you may find the battery is already long enough. </span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-393972" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="3840" height="2160" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01.jpg 3840w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Huawei-Watch-3-Review-01-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3840px) 100vw, 3840px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Besides the normal mode that runs with most features on Harmony OS, the watch offers an ultra-long battery life mode to extend the usage time. And under the long battery life mode, you can still get a well-performed fitness tracker and enjoy almost all the fitness tracking features. In this mode, the watch can last over 10 days. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">So that’s the new Huawei Watch 3. We think it’s one of the best alternatives to Apple Watch. And if you are a Huawei phone user, no doubt it’s the best smart wearable product that you can buy in the market. Although Harmony OS is new, we do see great possibilities in this platform.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span></p>

<p>Huawei launched its first smartwatch &#8211; the Huawei Watch in 2015. This was followed by the Huawei Watch 2 launched in 2017. Since then, the company hasn&#8217;t launched a smartwatch until now. The two smartwatches won&#8217;t be selling in China only. Huawei will be releasing the models in the UK and other markets.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/huawei-watch-3-pro.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-392794" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/huawei-watch-3-pro.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3" width="1000" height="569" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/huawei-watch-3-pro.jpg 1000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/huawei-watch-3-pro-300x171.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/huawei-watch-3-pro-768x437.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/huawei-watch-3-pro-696x396.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/huawei-watch-3-pro-738x420.jpg 738w" sizes="(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px" /></a></p>
<p>The Huawei wearables come with several professional health and fitness monitoring features and on top of these features, you get ultra-long battery life. For the first time, Huawei included a high-precision temperature sensor that detects skin temperature. The watch also comes with several new features like handwashing detection and fall detection. Users can also monitor their workout sessions as well as health and fitness parameters.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-392800" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3" width="2340" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube.jpg 2340w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube-300x138.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube-768x354.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube-1024x473.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube-696x321.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube-1068x493.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube-910x420.jpg 910w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-01-44-052_com.google.android.youtube-1920x886.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2340px) 100vw, 2340px" /></a></p>
<p>In terms of the design, the sleek Watch 3 series packs a polished stainless steel watch body with ultra-curved 3D glass and a large display. The Watch 3 series also comes with a 3D rotating crown that offers tactile feedback. The rotating crown has a high-precision finger movement recognition which affords users the ability to zoom in and out of images and slide across the menu options accurately. These features are made possible, thanks to HarmonyOS 2. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/IMG_20210602_140434.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-392799" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/IMG_20210602_140434.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3" width="954" height="532" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/IMG_20210602_140434.jpg 954w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/IMG_20210602_140434-300x167.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/IMG_20210602_140434-768x428.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/IMG_20210602_140434-696x388.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/IMG_20210602_140434-753x420.jpg 753w" sizes="(max-width: 954px) 100vw, 954px" /></a></p>
<p>During the press conference, Huawei disclosed that it stayed four years without releasing a smartwatch due to the unavailability of an intuitive OS for its watches. The HarmonyOS 2 solves this challenge with the avalanche of features it brings. The OS introduces a whole new user interface with a grid launcher app menu, which complements the 3D rotating crown to deliver a smoother and more intuitive user experience.  <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-392802" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3" width="2340" height="1080" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube.jpg 2340w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube-300x138.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube-768x354.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube-1024x473.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube-696x321.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube-1068x493.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube-910x420.jpg 910w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Screenshot_2021-06-02-14-00-43-224_com.google.android.youtube-1920x886.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2340px) 100vw, 2340px" /></a>The Watch 3 series also comes with several watch faces and watch straps, allowing users to personalize their smartwatch. <p>These images were spotted by <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/554/410.htm" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>ITHome</em></a>, which found that a number of bloggers on Weibo, a Chinese microblogging website, have shared these images on the platform. The images of the wearables are allegedly for the Huawei Watch 3 and Watch 3 Pro that was taken in an offline store. Looking at these images, it can be observed that the brand is going with a round display, similar to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/watch-gt-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Watch GT 2</a> series that it launched previously.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-392351 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/494cb89e-2ce1-43f7-9e96-7f1c7928deb6.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="820" height="531" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/494cb89e-2ce1-43f7-9e96-7f1c7928deb6.jpg 820w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/494cb89e-2ce1-43f7-9e96-7f1c7928deb6-300x194.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/494cb89e-2ce1-43f7-9e96-7f1c7928deb6-768x497.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/494cb89e-2ce1-43f7-9e96-7f1c7928deb6-696x451.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/494cb89e-2ce1-43f7-9e96-7f1c7928deb6-649x420.jpg 649w" sizes="(max-width: 820px) 100vw, 820px" /></p>
<p>Furthermore, the smartwatch will also sport a single knob dial along with a secondary flat button that will reside right below it. The design of the Watch series is somewhat minimalistic but with a sleek and classy look. Notably, the images of the packaging box have also been observed and it sports the phrase &#8220;Powered by HarmonyOS.&#8221; One image showcases the home screen of the device, which displays the time, date, and direct shortcuts to certain apps.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-392353" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/614371b8-98c3-4b6c-a1a6-e32a9557cbc8.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="486" height="648" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/614371b8-98c3-4b6c-a1a6-e32a9557cbc8.jpg 820w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/614371b8-98c3-4b6c-a1a6-e32a9557cbc8-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/614371b8-98c3-4b6c-a1a6-e32a9557cbc8-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/614371b8-98c3-4b6c-a1a6-e32a9557cbc8-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/614371b8-98c3-4b6c-a1a6-e32a9557cbc8-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 486px) 100vw, 486px" /></p>
<p>Similarly, the notifications can also be seen with alerts for missed calls and messages from the WeChat app. The leaked images also showcase the readings for what appears to be a SpO2 monitoring system that would track the users&#8217; blood oxygen levels. This has been a rumored feature for the device. The Watch 3 series from the Chinese tech giant is set to be unveiled on 2nd June 2021, so stay tuned as we will be covering the launch event and offering more updates regarding the device.</p>

Huawei is now gearing up to launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/25/harmonyos-to-debut-on-june-2-for-smartphones/">HarmonyOS for smartphones</a> in a few days.</p>
<p>Now, ahead of the launch of HarmonyOS for smartphones next week, the company has teased the arrival of its next-generation smartwatch &#8212; Huawei Watch 3, which will also be running the HarmonyOS.</p>

<p>For those who are unaware, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> started selling smartwatches in the year 2015 and the first device was launched as Huawei Watch, powered by the Snapdragon Wear chipset and Android Wear. In 2018, the Huawei GT series debuted with HiSilicon Kirin SoC and running the Huawei LiteOS. Now, the company is re-launching the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-watch">Huawei Watch</a> lineup to address the shortcomings of previous versions.</p>
<p>The upcoming smartphone, which will be running the new HarmonyOS, will come with a newly improved user interface and also comes with support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/online-payments/">mobile payments</a> and support for more third-party applications.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-391739 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer.jpeg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 3 HarmonyOS Teaser" width="1440" height="810" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer.jpeg 1440w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Huawei-Watch3-HarmonyOS-Teaswer-747x420.jpeg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px" /></p>
<p>Huawei is also expected to release a cellular variant that will have support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/esim">eSIM compatibility</a>. But it remains to be seen how the device performs in terms of battery life with this new operating system and additional features.</p>
<p>As far as the June 2 launch event is concerned, Huawei is speculated to announce a couple of other devices, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/10/huawei-matepad-pro-2-3c-certification/">Huawei MatePad Pro 2</a>. The Chinese giant expects that by the end of 2021, the number of devices equipped with the Hongmeng operating system will reach 300 million, of which Huawei&#8217;s equipment will exceed 200 million, and the number of various terminal devices for third-party partners will exceed 100 million.</p>

<p>The upcoming launch conference will have the Chinese tech giant unveil new electronic gadgets like TVs, earphones, and smart watches as well. While the company has yet to officially announce the products that will be released on the launch event, we have recently covered a few devices that we expect to be announced on this date. This includes the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/12/new-huawei-childrens-watch-4x-leak-first-look/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new variant of the Huawei Children&#8217;s Watch 4X</a>, which was leaked recently, along with the Huawei Body Fat Scale 3 Pro.</p>
<p>Furthermore, the brand is also set to launch new TVs, which will be a part of the company&#8217;s SE series of smart TVs. Other expected products that might be launching later this month include a semi in ear headphones, dubbed the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-freebuds-4/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">FreeBuds 4</a>, along with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-watch-3/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Huawei Watch3</a> series of smartwatches as well. We had previously reported on the company also gearing up to launch a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/01/huawei-matepad-pro-2-watch-3-pro-matebook-16-launch-date-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new high end 16 inch MateBook notebook</a>, while the company just shared a teaser on its official Weibo account for new Mate series product that could also be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/01/huawei-matepad-pro-2-watch-3-pro-matebook-16-launch-date-leak/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new MatePad tab</a>.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-389435 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/0020sXlVly1gqgk1nrrmrj61hb0u04qu02.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="690" height="388" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/0020sXlVly1gqgk1nrrmrj61hb0u04qu02.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/0020sXlVly1gqgk1nrrmrj61hb0u04qu02-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Unfortunately, there is not a lot of news to go on as of right now and we will have to wait for any teaser from Huawei that might arrive in the coming few days. So stay tuned for more, as we will be covering the event and providing any notable updates once additional information is available regarding the upcoming conference.</p>

<p>Despite the problems, Huawei continues to march ahead with the launch of several new products. In line with that, the company is reportedly all set to host a launch event next month, most likely on 19th May.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-386986 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors.png?x44794" alt="Huawei May 2021 Launch Event Rumors" width="1186" height="732" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors.png 1186w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors-300x185.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors-768x474.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors-1024x632.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors-356x220.png 356w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors-696x430.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors-1068x659.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Huawei-May2021-Launch-Event-Rumors-680x420.png 680w" sizes="(max-width: 1186px) 100vw, 1186px" /></p>
<p>At the event, the company is expected to launch several new products, including its new semi in-ear <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/tws-earphones">true-wireless earphones</a> named FreeBuds 4. It is expected to have a newly refined and stylish design and offer powerful noise reduction as well as battery life.</p>
<p>Additionally, there will also be Huawei Watch 3 series of smartwatches which are expected to come powered by the company&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos">HarmonyOS</a> (HongMeng OS in China) and a new user interface. The device is said to have support for eSIM and have a powerful app marketplace but we will have to wait for the launch to know for sure about the apps.</p>
<p>It is also reported that the company is working on a new 16-inch high-end notebook named <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-matebook-16">MateBook 16</a> but more information about this device is not known at this time. It also remains to be seen if this laptop gets launched at the same event.</p>
<p>Despite facing issues in the smartphone business, the company isn&#8217;t backing down. It is reportedly planning to launch three foldable smartphones in the market across different price ranges The company <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/23/huawei-mate-40-pro-mate-x2-4g-listed-china/">recently listed</a> the Huawei Mate40 Pro 4G and the Huawei Mate X2 4G smartphones on its website in China.</p>
<p>Huawei reported about a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/29/huawei-reports-decline-q1-2021-revenue-struggling-smartphone-arm/">16.5 percent dip in its revenue</a> in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. This is mainly due to the US sanctions that forced the company to revamp its business strategy and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/17/huawei-sells-honor-subsidiary-to-zhixin-new-information-technology-co-ltd/">selling its subsidiary Honor</a> last year.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Huawei has been selling smartwatches since 2015. The company’s first smartwatches came with HUAWEI Watch branding, These models featured </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Qualcomm/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Qualcomm</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Snapdragon Wear SoC and Android Wear. Hence, they offered poor battery life and performance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In late 2018, the company debuted the HUAWEI GT series with HiSilicon Kirin SoC and HUAWEI LiteOS. This new breed of smartwatches from the company offers much better battery life and performance. However, they have </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/24/huawei-allows-third-party-apps-on-wearables-begins-with-fitify-watch-gt-2-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">limited third-party app support</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To fix these shortcomings, Huawei will be re-introducing the HUAWEI Watch lineup with the launch of the HUAWEI Watch3 series as early as May 2021, as per a blogger on Weibo (<a href="https://weibo.com/2094249094/K9MGEhDp0">@鹏鹏君驾</a>).</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">According to this person, the upcoming HUAWEI Watch3 series will run HarmonyOS. The new watches from the company will feature a new UI (pictured above). They are also said to have support for mobile payments and more third-party applications.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Further, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Huawei/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Huawei</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> will be also releasing a cellular variant with eSIM compatibility. As for battery life, the HUAWEI Watch3 series may have lower endurance when compared to the HUAWEI GT series because of the new operating system and additional features.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last but not least, according to the blogger, the HUAWEI Watch3 series will be expensive than the HUAWEI GT series smartwatches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Having said that, we would recommend you to consider this piece of information with a pinch of salt. Anyway, ff these wearables indeed exist, then we expect to learn more about them in the coming days.</span></p>

The company first launched the first-gen Huawei Watch in 2015 and this was followed by the Watch 2 which was only made official last year. There are indications that the company is working on the Watch 3 and that it may arrive with a different moniker. Huawei has reportedly filed an application with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) last week to trademark the Huawei Watch X.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Huawei-Watch-2-2018.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-190646" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Huawei-Watch-2-2018.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Watch 2 (2018)" width="696" height="360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Huawei-Watch-2-2018.jpg 981w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Huawei-Watch-2-2018-300x155.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Huawei-Watch-2-2018-768x398.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /></a></p>
<p>The company isn&#8217;t likely to release the successor to the Watch 2 this year as indicated by Huawei&#8217;s Richard Yu, head of consumer electronics division at Huawei. The company did launch the Watch 2 (2018) though, but that is just an incremental upgrade of the Watch 2. So, that leaves us with the option of expecting the smartwatch sometime next year. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huawei-Watch-X-EUIPO.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-212473" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huawei-Watch-X-EUIPO.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="804" height="991" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huawei-Watch-X-EUIPO.jpg 804w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huawei-Watch-X-EUIPO-243x300.jpg 243w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/Huawei-Watch-X-EUIPO-768x947.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 804px) 100vw, 804px" /></a></p>

<p>It is possible Huawei was waiting for a new Qualcomm smartwatch processor to be delivered before coming out with the Watch X or Watch 3.  Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon Wear 3100 earlier this month as a successor to the Snapdragon Wear 2100 that has been around since 2016. That sets the stage for Huawei to come out with a new-gen smartwatch. Also, the Wear 2 is widely regarded as one of the best Android Wear (now Wear OS) devices ever created, so its successor has high expectations to meet. This could be another reason why Huawei isn’t in a hurry to release the Watch  3. However, the Watch 3, may be announced at CES 2019 as  Huawei Watch X but that isn&#8217;t very certain.</p>

Some rumors had claimed that it would be unveiling Huawei Watch 3 smartwatch at MWC 2018 tech expo. However, Huawei CEO Richard Yu has confirmed to Tech Radar that the company is working on Watch 3, but it won’t be launching soon.</p>
<p>When the publication asked about the possibility of third-generation smartwatch to Yu, he replied by saying that since Huawei Watch 2 is selling well, the company is not hurrying at launching its successor edition soon. He added that the Watch 3 will be announced later without revealing a proper timeframe for its unveil. Hence, it is evident that the Huawei Watch 3 won’t be announced on March 27, the day when the company will be announcing the P20 family.</p>

<p>Huawei had unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/02/26/huawei-watch-2-unveiled-android-wear-2-0-sd-2100-chip-nfc-features/">Huawei Watch 2 in February last year</a> through MWC 2017. There is a possibility that the company may use the IFA 2018 tech trade show event in September to unveil its third-generation smartwatch. If the Watch 2 continues to sell well, Huawei may launch its successor in the next year.</p>
