Realme GT Neo 2 Android 13 x Realme UI 4.0 Open Beta Testing begins

Realme has been quite active in releasing Android 13 updates to its eligible devices. Mid-rangers like the Realme 9 Pro and 9i recently got the stable Realme UI 4.0 update whereas the brand commenced the Android 13 early access program for the Realme 9 5G. Now, Realme’s 2021 flagship killer, the Realme GT Neo 2 has entered the Open Beta testing phase of Realme UI 4.0.

Users of Realme GT Neo 2 can now try out Android 13 on their devices ahead of its stable release in the coming weeks. To apply for the Beta Program, you can navigate to Settings > Software Update > Tap on the settings icon in the top right corner > Trial Version > Submit your details > Apply Now. Make sure that your device is running on the firmware version RMX3370_11.C.09/ RMX3370_11.C.10 before applying.

If your application passes the review, the OTA update should arrive in a few days. You can expect the update to include the changes listed below.

The realme GT NEO 2 is now receiving the realme UI 3.0 update based on Android 12 in India with a bunch of new stuff. Android 11 had brought along a complete UI overhaul for realme devices but Android 12 is now doing it once again, tweaking the system interface as well as apps. The UI-related changes are joined by a multitude of optimizations for enhancing security and performance.

According to an official announcement post on the realme Community, the realme UI 3.0 stable update for realme GT NEO 2 in India arrives with firmware version RMX3370_11.C.04. The complete changelog for the thing has been given below.

New design

The all-new design, which emphasizes a sense of space, delivers a simple, clean and comfortable visual and interactive experience.
Revamps the page layout based on the principle of reducing visual noise and spacing out elements, and prioritizes information with different colors to
make key information stand out.
Redesigns icons using new materials to give more depth and a greater sense of space and texture to the icons.
Optimizes Quantum Animation Engine: Quantum Animation Engine 3.0 implements the concept of mass to make animations more lifelike and optimizes more than 300 animations to bring a more natural user experience.
More creative Always-On Display: Adds realmeow and Portrait silhouette to let you freely express yourself.

TalkBack supports more system apps including Photos, Phones, Mail, and Calendar.

As with every realme update rollout, realme UI 3.0 for the GT NEO 2 will be released in stages to reduce the impact of critical bugs, if any have managed to go unnoticed during the beta testing period.

If you haven’t received a notification for the OTA update, then you may need to wait for a few days. Just make sure you’re currently on firmware version RMX3370_11.A.08.

realme GT NEO 2 bags Android 12-based realme UI 3.0 in China

The realme GT NEO 2 is now receiving the Android 12-based realme UI 3.0 update in China with a bunch of new features. The phone is a recent launch and shipped with realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.

realme UI 3.0 is a fairly major update integrating multiple Android 12-specific features into the skin such as dynamic wallpaper-based theming, the new Privacy Dashboard, and mic and camera status bar indicators. These are topped with realme optimizations such as AI Smooth Engine for better animations and system performance and Floating Window 2.0.

The official update changelog was frankly a bit too long so we cut it down a bit, showing only the important parts:

Obviously, the changelog for the global variant of the realme GT NEO 2 will look a lot different. The update should take a while to reach outside China, though, since a realme official said that the complete rollout in China may take up to 15 days (via IT Home). It is likely that the global release will only start afterward.

There are very few phones on the market right now that offer Snapdragon 870 at under ₹30k, namely the Xiaomi Mi 11X and the iQOO 7, but both will still cost you more even after applying available bank offers.

Recently, Realme rolled out an early access Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 build for their budget-friendly Realme C25 devices, and now, the brand has announced Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta for three popular devices.

In a recent Tweet, Realme India announced that the Realme UI 3.0 Open Betas has now been made available for the Realme X7 Max 5G, the Realme GT Neo 2, and Realme GT Master Edition.

Make sure you update your device to the software version specified in the Open Beta announcement post for your device.
After installing the update, navigate to the Software Update section in the device settings and tap on the settings cog in the top right corner
Tap on the Trial version on the following page and then select the Open Beta option
Tap on the Apply now button on the next page and then provide all the required details to complete your application
If your application passes Realme’s review process, you should receive the Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta release via an OTA update

Before installing the Beta update, make sure that your device is not rooted, has at least 5GB of storage free, and has at least 60 percent battery charge. Making a backup of your data is also advised to avoid data loss in case of technical difficulty. Also be warned that since its a Beta build, it might contain some bugs, and might some third-party apps might not work properly on the beta build.

A few days back, Realme announced the Dragon Ball Z limited edition model of the GT Neo2 in China. The smartphone comes with an Orange and Blue paint job referring to the protagonist from the series Goku. Now, the limited edition model seems to launch in Indian and European markets soon, as the company CMO has teased its release outside China.

Realme’s CMO Francis Wong on Twitter asked the community whether they want the Dragon Ball Z Edition of the phone in India and Europe. While he seems to be genuinely questioning about the fan’s interest in the special edition phone, it is none other than a clever teasing of the phone’s launch.

Realme GT Neo2 Europe launch date, pricing revealed

Realme GT Neo2 Europe launch date is now confirmed. The Chinese manufacturer will be holding a dedicated launch event for the Neo2 in Europe on Nov. 15 at 2 PM (local time). The event will be livestreamed across the social media channels of the brand. Ahead of the launch, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has shared the pricing of the GT Neo2.

As can be seen in the screenshots shared by the tipster, the Realme GT Neo2 will come in two trims such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage in Europe. These models are said to be priced at 449 euros and 549 euros, respectively. The screengrabs show that the device will be available in Neo Blue and Neo Black colors.

The specifications of the Realme GT Neo2 are no secret since it has already launched in markets like India and China. At present, there is no word on the sale date of the smartphone for the European markets.

Realme Pad, Realme Book, and more to come in Neo Green

The Realme GT Neo2 is available in three colors – Neo Blue, Neo Black, and Neo Green. The green appears to be a favorite as Realme has launched some other products in the same color such as the Realme Watch T1 and the Realme Buds Air 2. It may soon extend the paint job to other popular products including the Realme Pad and Realme Book.

Yesterday, Realme VP and newly-appointed President of Realme International Business Group, Madhav Sheth, shared a photo of all of the companies products in Neo Green. Alongside the Realme GT Neo2, Buds Air 2, straps of the Watch T1, and the Realme Buds Wireless 2 Neo, the photo also shows the Realme Pad, Realme Book (review), and a Realme Wireless Mouse in Neo Green.

The Realme Pad is currently available in Real Gold and Real Gray color options while the Realme Book comes in Real Blue and Real Gray. Both devices are very popular but should see more adoption when Realme launches them in Green. The Realme Wireless Mouse-Silent which is sold in Malaysia is also shown in green.

We don’t know yet when the new colorway for these products will be released but there is a possibility they won’t be available in all regions.

It is nice to see manufacturers get creative with colors and deviate from the black, gray, or white that we are used to seeing. We hope this trend continues thus providing users with more options to pick up a device.

Realme GT Neo2 was launched a few days back in India and it brought flagship-grade specs to the table. The smartphone features a 120Hz display, 64MP triple cameras, and Snapdragon 870. Starting today, the smartphone will go on sale in India.

The Realme GT Neo2 is priced at ₹31,999(~$425) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹35,999(~$478) for the 2GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. But, in the first sale, the phone will be available starting at ₹24,999(~$385) and ₹28,999(~$332). The sale starts at 12 PM IST on Flipkart.

Design & Display

The Realme GT Neo2 sports a design that’s not too different from the latest offerings by OnePlus. Take the OnePlus 9R, for example, which has a camera module with a design quite comparable to the one found on the GT Neo2. Both also come with punch-hole front cameras aligned to the left. The parallels between the design language between the duo shouldn’t come as a surprise though considering their common parent company.

Cameras on the Realme GT Neo2

The camera module on the rear is a particularly good-looking one but it’s what it packs that is the main highlight. The main highlight of the phone is the processor it is powered with – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. Being flagship-level, the chip is one of the most powerful in the Android world as of now.

But with great power also comes the great responsibility of keeping the phone’s temperature under control, and that’s something Realme has nailed thanks to the implementation of a diamond ice core cooling system that covers 17932mm² in terms of surface area with aerospace-grade cooling gel.

The processor is fed by a 5000mAh battery capable of filling up at 65W. Additionally, the device has dual stereo speakers, a 600Hz touch sampling rate, and Dolby Atmos Games support. All of the phone’s components are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 from the outside.

Software

The phone will be booting into Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 despite Android 12 hitting stable. This shouldn’t be a problem though considering that Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 development is currently in full swing.

Colors, Price, & Release

Colors are perhaps the most interesting bit of the phone and have been heavily marketed as well. The smartphone will come in three color options in India, including Neo Black, Neo Green, and Neo Blue. There are talks about a special Mercedes-AMG special edition as well, although it’s unclear if it will be making its way to India.

The phone will be launched in Europe as well, with the base variant with 8GB+128GB config costing EUR 369 and a 12GB+256GB config priced at EUR 459.

In India, it will be launched on October 13 with the Realme October product launch event, likely at a price between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 30,000. The variants will be the same as the ones to be sold in Europe.

Smartphone brand realme has been teasing the launch of realme GT Neo2 in India for the past few days. At last, the company has finally revealed the date when it will be debuting the handset in the country. The device will go official in the region next week.

In August, Realme announced the Realme GT 5G and Realme GT Master Edition smartphones in India. However, Realme fans in India have been eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Realme GT Master Explorer Edition. In a fresh episode of Ask Madhav series on YouTube, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed that the company has no plans to release the GT Master Explorer Edition in India.

Instead, the company will be launching the Realme GT Neo2 this month in India. The company will be soon confirming its launch date. Sheth also confirmed that the Neo2 will be available in an attractive green variant, which is nothing but the Black Mint version that was released in China in September.

Realme is also likely to announce a green variant of the Buds Air2 alongside the GT Neo2. Realme is expected to refresh its GT lineup of smartphones as a new Realme phone with model number RMX3370 has emerged on the Geekbench portal. It is believed to be the upcoming Realme GT Neo2 and it has impressive scores.

According to the Geekbench listing, the Realme GT Neo 2 scored 4678 single-core points and 12690 multi-core points on the Geekbench 4. Notably, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. For those who are aware, the predecessor GT Neo had the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC.

Realme is expected to announce the Realme GT Neo2 smartphone this month. The design and specs of the phone are no specs since it was found listed at China’s TENAA telecom authority last month. In addition, reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer had shared CAD renders of GT Neo2 last month, and now he has teamed up with GizNext to share a leaked render of the smartphone.

As can be seen in the image below, the upcoming Realme GT Neo2 will be sporting a punch-hole design. The rear-facing camera module comprises a 64-megapixel triple camera unit and a pair of LED flash units.

The right edge of the device has a power key, and volume up and down buttons can be found on its left. Its topside features a microphone, and its bottom edge is fitted with a SIM card slot, a microphone, a USB-C port, and a speaker grille. Apart from blue, it is also expected to arrive in a black variant.

Leaked information that appeared yesterday that the company is working on Realme GT Neo2 smartphone. The leak revealed its entire specs and design. A tipster has shared a poster to claim that this device may hit the global markets with the Realme GT Neo Gaming moniker.

As can be seen in the below-shown poster, the Realme GT Neo Gaming is coming soon with the Snapdragon 870 chip and a gaming design. Like the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition (and its rebranded POCO F3 GT model), the GT Neo Gaming seems to be equipped with RGB lighting in the camera unit.

The Realme GT Neo Gaming is coming soon to China as it has been certified by China’s TENAA authority. IT has appeared in TENAA’s database with the RMX3370 model number. The listing states that it has a 6.62-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with a punch-hole design and an in-screen fingerprint sensor. Earlier this year, Realme launched the GT Neo 5G in China. Now according to a report, the company is preparing to launch its successor, the Realme GT Neo2, in India.

The publication Digit collaboration with tipster OnLeaks released renders and key specifications of the upcoming GT Neo2. The renders and specifications are said to be based on the pre-production unit. These renders give us a 360-degree look at the smartphone.

The Realme GT Neo2 is said to be a premium succeeding the original GT Neo under the GT series. The report mentions that the smartphone would be quite slim and lightweight; however, there’s no word on the exact dimensions yet.

On the front, it gets a large display with minimal bezels and a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera. Meanwhile, the back sports the camera module housing three cameras along with a LED flash. The speaker grille and USB Type C port can be seen on the bottom. The left side houses volume control buttons, while the power button is on the right edge.
