Vivo has just announced that it will be partnering up with Alexander Wang to make a Special Edition for the Vivo X30. The series was launched back in 2019 and will be offered in a new version in collaboration with the known Chinese designer.

According to the official image posters, it can be observed that the Vivo X30 Special Edition will feature mirror aesthetics. The pictures depict the device with silver mirror glass design alongside the branding “alexanderwang.” This device is alongside its unique and shimmering new design is clearly all about the looks.

Vivo had initially planned to start with the testing of beta version of FunTouch OS 10 based Android 10 upgrade in February. However, the update was delayed due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. On Feb. 17, the company had confirmed that it will soon share a detailed upgrade plan. The Chinese firm is back with a revised Android 10 update schedule for the Chinese market.

The public beta of Android 10 OS featuring the latest FunTouch OS 10 which was made official in December 2019 will be first made available to the users of Vivo NEX 3 and Vivo NEX 3 5G on March 14. The first 4,000 users who register for it will be provided with the public beta. Vivo had launched the Vivo X30 and X30 Pro phones in China with FunTouch OS 10 based Android 9 Pie. The revised Android 10 roll out does not mention when the X30 series will get the Android 10 update.

The Vivo X27, X27 (8 GB + 128 GB model), X27 Pro users will be receiving the public beta by early March. The owners of Vivo NEX S, NEX A, NEX-A with in-screen fingerprint sensor and NEX Dual Display will be treated by early April.

The Vivo S5 will get the update by mid-April. The end of April will see the update hitting handsets like Vivo Z5, Z5i, Z5x, S1 and S1 Pro. The update will be coming to other smartphones like Vivo Z3, Z3i and X23 by late June.

The above mentioned devices are the only smartphones from Vivo that will be blessed with FunTouch OS 10 based Android 10. The arrival of Android 10 update for users of Vivo phones in international markets is likely to happen once the Chinese models are treated with the update.

Vivo announced the Vivo X30 series smartphones on December 16 in China. The new lineup is important for the Chinese smartphone maker for two main reasons. First, the Vivo X30 and the X30 Pro expands the company’s 5G product portfolio in China. Second, it is the world’s first pair of smartphones to be powered by the 5G integrated Exynos 980 chipset. This is a newfound relationship between Vivo & Samsung with the company revealing that it even contributed in the development of the chip.

Vivo X30 vs Vivo X30 Pro: Design

When you look at Vivo X30 vs Vivo X30 Pro, there are hardly any differences. They have an almost identical design, which includes a vertical camera setup at the back and a punch-hole display with a small 2.98mm diameter hole for the selfie camera on the top right corner.

However, the only difference between the two devices, in terms of both specifications as well as design is its camera setup. While the X30 gets a triple camera setup at the back, there’s an additional periscope shooter on the Pro variant, making it a quad-camera setup. Both phones come in a glass back and have the same color variants.

Vivo X30 vs Vivo X30 Pro: Specifications

Once again, there are hardly any differences between the two devices in terms of core specifications. Both smartphones are powered by the 5G-integrated Exynos 980 chipset that features 2 x Cortex A77 cores and 6 x Cortex A55 cores. The 5G modem inside the Exynos 980 chip supports SA and NSA networks (n41 and n78 bands). Both phones come with 2.4GHz, 5GHz, 5.8GHz WiFi; Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and an audio jack. Yes, both the devices have a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack, unlike competitors like the Reno3 series.

There’s 8GB of RAM onboard with two storage variants; 128GB and 256GB. Note that the storages are UFS 2.1 and not UFS 3.0 like the OnePlus 7T. You get the exact same 6.44-inch Super AMOLED HDR display on both the devices with an in-display fingerprint sensor. A 4350mAh battery powers both the devices with 30W fast charging.

Vivo X30 vs Vivo X30 Pro: Camera

So far, the Vivo X30 and the X30 Pro have been identical. But there’s a $100 difference between the two devices! And Vivo justifies that with the fourth additional camera on the Vivo X30 Pro.

The standard X30 comes with a 64MP f/1.8 primary camera (OIS), a 32MP f/2.0 telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom, 20x digital zoom, and 50mm focal length, and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter. The setup on the Vivo X30 Pro is exactly the same as the basic X30 model. But the fourth camera on the side is the real game-changer. It’s a special periscope 13MP camera with f/3.0 aperture shooter featuring 5x optical zoom and a whopping 60x digital zoom. It’s no surprise that the X30 Pro gets its own special moon mode as well. It’s also worth adding that each of the three cameras (except for the ultrawide lens) have OIS on board.

Upfront, a 32MP f/2.4 shooter takes care of your selfie needs on both the devices.

Vivo X30 vs Vivo X30 Pro: Price

With the additional periscope camera being the only addition on the X30 Pro, a $100 price difference seems a bit too much. The standard Vivo X30 is priced at ¥3298 (~$472) for the 128GB version and ¥3598 (~$515) for the 256GB version. On the other hand, the Vivo X30 Pro starts at ¥3998 (~$573) for the 128GB version and goes up to ¥4298 (~$616) for the 256GB version. Both the phones are on sale in China right now, but no word on an international release date yet.

Design

All of these phones are very stylish and futuristic. They all feature an amazing punch-hole display with very narrow bezels around it. If I had to choose, I would personally go for the Oppo Reno3 Pro. It has a very clean design thanks to a very small punch hole, an in-display fingerprint reader and all the camera elements included in the rear camera module. Further, it comes in very attractive color variants and it is even one of the thinnest handsets out there to feature a battery with a capacity above 4000 mAh (just 7.7 mm thin). Last but not least it is lighter, it only weighs 171 grams.

Display

Besides more attractive design, Oppo Reno3 Pro also provides a better display. It has a lower 90 Hz refresh rate than Redmi K30 5G (the K30 has a 120 Hz refresh rate), but it has a better color reproduction and an AMOLED panel, unlike the latest Xiaomi’s 5G mid-ranger. You even get a higher brightness, stereo speakers and an HDR10+ compliant display. Redmi K30 5G has a smoother 120 Hz display but it is an LCD panel, so you may remain a bit disappointed with the overall quality. But it is still a great panel since it supports HDR.

Hardware/Software

You should not underestimate the new Exynos 980 chipset which debuted on board of the Vivo X30, also known as the first SoC with an integrated 5G modem. According to benchmarks, it is definitely better than the Snapdragon 765G found on the Redmi K30 5G and the Oppo Reno3 Pro, despite the Snapdragon 765G is considered a better choice for a lot of people. Further, Oppo Reno3 Pro is the only coming with up to 12 GB of RAM, so it delivers definitely better performance overall. Oppo Reno3 Pro and Redmi K30 5G have Android 10 out of the box, while Vivo X30 is still based on Android 9 Pie.

Camera

Oppo Reno3 Pro and Vivo X30 have the most convincing cameras and, unlike the Redmi K30 5G, they are high-end camera phones. Unfortunately, we still did not test them thoroughly, so we still can not give you our definitive opinion about their camera performance. Vivo X30 looks definitely impressive with its 32 MP telephoto lens and its 64 MP main sensor with OIS, while Oppo Reno3 Pro has a more common camera department but it offers an additional monochromatic sensor and a brighter focal aperture (as well as an amazing optical stabilization).

Battery

Due to its bigger 4500 mAh battery, Redmi K30 5G should last more on a single charge. But this does not mean you do not get an amazing battery life with Oppo Reno3 Pro and Vivo X30. The Vivo X30 should have a longer battery life than Oppo Reno3 Pro thanks to a bigger 4350 mAh.

Price

Vivo X30’s price starts from €420 in India (still not sold in China), Redmi K30 5G starts from just €255 in China, and Oppo Reno3 Pro starts from $572 in China. None of these devices is sold globally at the moment. While Redmi K30 5G offers the highest value for money, Oppo Reno3 Pro has a better design and display and it is more or less at the same level as the Vivo X30 (which should offer slightly higher performance and longer battery life).

On 23rd December 2019, Guinness announced that the Vivo X30 Pro broke a world record. The title held by Vivo and JD is for the highest number of people in a photo relay, which means the most number of people that took a photo with a single smartphone.

According to the reports, a total of 546 people used the telephoto mode of the Vivo X30 series smartphone. In the challenge, the participants used the device to capture images on the cruise ship Pearl River Crystal in Guangzhou, China. This attempt successfully broke the previously held world record.

Notably, Xiaomi is also one of the only smartphone manufacturers from China that also holds a Guinness World Record. It is for the highest number of physical stores opened simultaneously with about 500 Mi stores being opened across 14 states in India. This was achieved back in 2018 on the 29th of October at sharp 12 pm.

The Vivo X30 series was announced earlier this month at a launch conference by the Chinese OEM. The latest series of smartphones are equipped with the Exynos 980 chipset which is manufactured by Samsung, the South Korean OEM. It supports the SA & NSA Dual module network and features the latest Funtouch OS 10 system based on Android 9 (Pie). Vivo X30 series is equipped with a 64 megapixel primary camera alongside an ultra wide lens and a 60x super zoom telephoto lens which was used to achieve the world record.

Vivo has announced two new phones for its X-series line of smartphones. The Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro are both 5G phones and they are the first smartphones to be powered by the Exynos 980 processor.

Design

The Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro largely share a similar design. Both have a punch-hole display with the hole, which measures 2.98mm in diameter, at the top right corner. The phones are covered in glass on both sides and come in the same color variants.

Specifications

The Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro both have a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. Under the screen is a fingerprint scanner and there is also support for face unlock.

The two phones are the first to be powered by the Exynos 980, Samsung’s first processor with an integrated 5G modem and which was co-developed with Vivo. The octa-core processor which features Cortex-A77 cores is paired with 8GB of RAM on both phones with the option of 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The Exynos 980 modem brings support for SA and NSA networks (n41 and n78 bands) and boasts up to 2.55Gbps in download speeds. There is 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 5.8GHz WiFi; Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and an audio jack.

Vivo ships both phones with a 4350mAh battery with support for 33W Flash Charge via USB Type-C. Both phones have liquid-cooling to keep the device’s temperature low when performing CPU-intensive tasks. They also run the new FunTouchOS 10 which is disappointingly based on Android 9 Pie and not Android 10. It brings Multi-Turbo 2.5, a revamped UI, dynamic wallpapers, and software optimizations.

Vivo X30 Cameras

The standard version has triple rear cameras – a 64MP f/1.8 camera with a 26.4mm focal length; an 8MP ultrawide angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture, 16mm focal length and a 112° field of view; and a whopping 32MP f/2.0 professional portrait camera with a 50mm focal length.

The phone has Super Night Scene Mode 2.0 which brings multi-frame noise reduction and allows for brighter and more detailed night shots. There is also Backlight-HDR which helps you take better photos irrespective of where the source of light is from.

The X30 has up to 20x zoom and is able to achieve this with the help of an algorithm. Vivo says you can combine the main camera and portrait camera to shoot photos of the moon with rich details. Vivo advises owners to use a combination of the full-moon mode and night mode to achieve this.

Vivo X30 Pro Cameras

The X30 Pro also has a 64MP primary rear camera with the same f/1.8 aperture and 26.4mm focal length. It pairs it with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera with a 122° FOV, and also has a 32MP professional f/2.0 portrait camera with a 50mm focal length. Vivo then rounds it off with a 13MP periscope lens with a 5x optical zoom.

The periscope lens allows the Vivo X30 to offer up to 60x zoom, thrice that of the standard variant. It also has all the other features of the standard variant mentioned above.

Both the Vivo X30 and X30 Pro have a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.45 aperture.

Price and Availability

The Vivo X30 is priced at ¥3298 (~$472) for the 128GB version and ¥3598 (~$515) for the 256GB version. However, only the 128GB version is available for pre-order on the Vivo online shop. The first sale is scheduled for December 28 at 10 AM and pre-orders will ship with a free pair of W7 Bluetooth headphones.

The Vivo X30 Pro starts at ¥3998 (~$573) for the 128GB version and goes up to ¥4298 (~$616) for the 256GB version. The X30 Pro goes on sale a few days earlier than the standard version on December 24 at 10 AM and will include the W7 headphones with pre-orders.

Hardware & Software

Vivo X30 and X30 Pro will be the first smartphones equipped with the world’s first processor sporting an integrated 5G modem. We are talking about the Exynos 980 developed jointly by Samsung and Vivo. It supports both SA and NSA connectivity and it can reach download speeds of up to 2.55 Gbps. While using both 4G and 5G dual connectivity, it can be even better as it can reach up to 3.55 Gbps download speeds. Besides 5G, Exynos 980 also supports Wi-Fi 6.

It is a chipset composed of Cortex A77 CPUs and a Mali G76 MP5 GPU, so we are talking about a high-end SoC, in case you missed that. It has an octa-core architecture and it reaches a max frequency of 2.2 GHz. Vivo X30 Pro will be equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, but we still do not know if there will be other memory configurations. Unfortunately, they are tipped to come with Android 9 Pie in a period in which the most important mainstream brands are launching Android 10-powered smartphones.

The OS will be customized by Funtouch OS. Vivo X30 Pro recently surfaced on AnTuTu benchmark: the phone scored more than 326,000 points in the benchmarking platform. The rear camera department of the X30 Pro will be composed of four sensors: a 64 MP main lens, a 32 MP portrait sensor, an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 13 MP periscope lens. The smartphone will offer up to 60x digital zoom experience. There will be both OIS and EIS for an excellent stabilization.

Vivo’s product line manager Luan Xinlin has published a photo that looks like the night time moon shot captured with the X30 Pro main camera. As you probably know, it is almost impossible to shoot a decent photo to the moon with almost every smartphone out there. But this device does it pretty well. Vivo X30 Pro is expected to come with a satisfying 4500 mAh battery and, according to 3C, the smartphone will support a 33W fast charging technology. Vivo X30 – Launch, price, and availability

The Vivo X30 series will be officially announced on December 16. On this date, the company will also reveal the official listing prices of both the smartphones, while now we have no info about them. We can only tell you that their predecessors Vivo X27 and X27 Pro were launched in China with CNY 3198 and CNY 3998 prices respectively.

According to rumors, the Pro version may cost less than 3000 Yuan which roughly translates into $426. The Vivo V1938T phone that has appeared on Master Lu benchmarks seems to be the upcoming Vivo X30 Pro handset. In the recent weeks, the V1938T phone has appeared in leaked shots, AnTuTu, Geekbench and 3C certification database. The X30 Pro Master Lu listing reveals that its display offers full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels which indicates that it will offer tall aspect ratio of 20:9. The device is fueled by the Exynos 980 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. The internal storage of the phone is 128 GB.

Master Lu benchmarks revealed that the Vivo V1938T has scored 128,729 in the CPU test, 75,160 in the GPU test, 40,821 in the memory test and 31,504 in storage performance.  The total score of the Vivo V1938T phone on Master Lu benchmarks is 276,214. The Vivo X30 Pro that is believed to have the model number of V1938T was recently seen on the database of 3C certification site. The same model number had appeared on Geekbench benchmarking platform. Yesterday, some leaked shots of the Vivo V1938T phone had appeared to reveal some of its key specs. Today, an AnTuTu listing of the Vivo V1938T phone has appeared to reveal its performance.

The AnTuTu listing has not revealed the specifications of the Vivo X30 Pro smartphone. However, it has revealed that the X30 Pro has recorded an average benchmarking score of 326,029. It can be seen that the Exynos 980 powered smartphone is equipped with Mali-G77 graphics and Android 9 Pie OS.

The aforementioned score is an average of CPU, GPU, memory and UX scores of Vivo V1938T phone. In the CPU and GPU tests, the V1938T phone has scored 116,836 and 88,459, respectively. In the memory and UX tests, the handset has recorded 57,598 and 63,136 scores, respectively. In comparison, the Snapdragon 765 5G chipset powered Redmi K30 had recorded a slightly lower score of 302,847.

A pair of new real-life images of the Vivo X30 smartphone have appeared on Weibo. The new images have not only showcased the front and rear design of the smartphone, but also they have revealed its key specifications.

The leaked hands-on images of the Vivo X30 show that it features a punch-hole display. The phone seems to be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The glass rear of the phone has a vertical triple camera setup at the top-left corner. Alongside it is the fourth lens with a squarish design. A few weeks ago, the product manager for Funtouch OS shared a font design image with the words “Jovi OS”. Originally believed to be a teaser for a new OS, it turned out to be a rebranding for FunTouch OS. Now, it has been revealed they will not be going forward with the naming.

The product manager for FunTouch OS took to Weibo today to announce that after multiple consultations with team members, they have decided to suspend the plan to rename the OS. This means Vivo’s forked version of Android will remain Funtouch OS and not be called Jovi OS.

In the post, he apologized for the confusion the decision has caused. He also added that a new version of Funtouch OS will be announced on December 16, alongside the Vivo X30 series.

We are not surprised at the news that there will be a new version of Funtouch OS as that was expected with the launch of Jovi OS.

The new version of Funtouch OS will bring new features such as “Application Sharing”. This feature allows you to share an app available on your phone to another phone. Based on the demo video, the feature is actually a sort of screen-casting between devices where you have a “master” and “slave”. However, the video shows it is also possible to control the app from the “slave”.

The Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro should be the first devices to run this new version of Funtouch OS. Both phones will be powered by the Exynos 980 5G modem, have punch-hole AMOLED displays, and support 33W fast charge.

The Vivo X30 is another mid-range smartphone launching in China this month. Unlike the Redmi K30 5G and OPPO Reno3 Pro, Vivo‘s X30 smartphone will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 980 5G chipset.

The Vivo X30 will launch on December 16 and it will bring along a Pro-model too. The phone will be available in Coral Red and Marine Blue; live photos of the former have been posted on the web.

The color is actually quite similar to Pantone’s 2019 color of the year: Living Coral. The Vivo X30 has a punch-hole display too but it is for a single camera and is on the right. The display is an AMOLED panel and there is an in-display fingerprint scanner for security.

The phone has quad rear cameras that are arranged vertically on the left of the phone. There is a periscope lens housed separately for zoom. Vivo says the X30 will have up to 60x hybrid zoom.

Other than the live photos, a few specs have also leaked. The source of the image says the phone has a 32MP selfie camera and packs a 4350mAh battery. Chinese leakster, @Digital Chat Station, in his own post yesterday stated the same battery capacity but adds that both the Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro will be powered by the Exynos 980. The Exynos processor has an integrated 5G modem with support for both SA and NSA 5G networks.

We expect Vivo will announce other products alongside the two phones. We also expect it to announce its new OS called JoviOS which may replace Funtouch OS.

Today, it has rolled out another poster that gives a clearer look at the quad camera setup of the smartphone. It confirms the existence of a periscope lens.

The Vivo X30 features a vertical strip featuring triple camera. Alongside it is the fourth camera lens that has a squarish look. It appears to be the super telephoto periscope lens that is expected to enable 5x optical zoom and up to 60x super zoom on the Vivo X30 series. Unfortunately, the company did not reveal any information on the configurations of the rear camera sensors. Some rumors have claimed that the periscope lens feature will be only available on the advanced Vivo X30 Pro smartphone. No official confirmation on it has surfaced yet.

The Vivo X30 series will be arriving as the first Vivo phones with support for dual-mode 5G since it is fueled by the Samsung-made Exynos 980 chipset. Today, Vivo and Samsung jointly held a dual-mode 5G AI chip media conference in Beijing, China. At the event, the details of the Exynos 980 5G chipset was shared. The Chinese firm also confirmed that the Vivo X30 series powered with the Exynos 980 5G SoC will be made official in December.

The Exynos 980 is the first chipset to be mass-produced on the Cortex-A77 architecture. With 4G-5G dual connectivity, the Exynos 980 powered phone can reach up to 3.55Gbps download speeds. The SoC is coupled with support for Wi-Fi 6. Vivo’s senior director of the vivo chip technology Li Haorong said that the company can not only utilize the full capabilities of the Exynos 980, but also it can suggest the features that can be integrated into the chip according to the needs of the consumers.

Vivo just made a formal announcement regarding the official launch of the dual-mode 5G Exynos 980 SoC, developed by Samsung. The media release is scheduled for Nov. 7 in Beijing. Vivo and Samsung reportedly have a joint 5G AI media conference on November 7. Now, a popular blogger from China revealed that Vivo could announce the new Vivo X30 5G smartphone at this media event. The X30 will likely be the first smartphone to feature Samsung’s Exynos 980 upper mid-range processor with an integrated 5G modem.

We have been hearing about the Vivo X30 5G for the past few days. It was earlier reported that the phone will launch in December, but after today’s post, we may see it as soon as November. The X30 5G will reportedly support both NSA (non-standalone) and SA (standalone) 5G dual-mode networks, all thanks to the Exynos 980 chipset inside. Given its naming scheme, the phone should likely be marketed as a relatively affordable 5G option, placed below the flagship Vivo NEX 3 5G.

According to previous reports, the Vivo X30 should come with a pop-up selfie camera along with a full-screen waterfall display, similar to the NEX 3. Other expected features include a triple camera setup at the back and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

If the X30 is really launching on November 7, expect a lot more details in the coming days.

In April, Vivo India had launched the Vivo Y17 mid-range smartphone and in March, the Vivo X27 lineup was made official in China. Fresh information reveals that the company could be now gearing up to launch new X and Y series of smartphones since it has registered X30 and Y19 monikers with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

Last year, Vivo had launched in the Vivo X21 smartphone in March and it was succeeded by Vivo X23 in September. The successor of X23 was expected to debut as Vivo X25. However, the company decided to skip it and launch its next X-series phone as Vivo X27. Probably, the company may launch its next X-series smartphone in September.

It remains to be seen whether the company will be skipping X28 and X29 monikers to launch it as Vivo X30. There is no information available on the specifications of the Vivo X30. The Vivo X27 series include X27 and X27 Pro phones. Hence, there is a possibility that the company may announce Vivo X30 Pro alongside the X30 model.

The Vivo Y19 name that has been trademarked with WIPO sounds like a successor for the Vivo Y17 that was unveiled in India recently. In the past few months, Vivo has launched Y-series smartphones like Y12, Y15 and Y17 with similar specs with slight differences in their specs. Hence, the upcoming Y19 phone may borrow many of its specs from the Y17 phone.

The Vivo Y17 comes with a 6.35-inch display with waterdrop notch. It carries support for HD+ resolution of 720 x 1544 pixels. The MediaTek Helio P35 chipset powers the Vivo Y17 phone with 4 GB of RAM. It comes with a big internal storage of 128 GB. There is a dedicated storage slot onboard for adding a microSD card.

The Vivo Y17 is one of the cheapest phones in India to feature a triple camera setup. It includes a 13-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It is fitted with a front-facing camera of the 20-megapixel. The handset is loaded with FunTouch OS 9 based Android 9 Pie OS. It is packed with a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. It is currently selling with a price tag of Rs. 15,990 (~$228). At launch, it was priced at Rs. 17,990 (~$257). The upcoming Vivo Y19 may land in India with a price tag of Rs. 17,990.

A mysterious Vivo phone was spotted earlier this week with an incredible full screen design flanked with super-slim bezels. It has appeared once again today to give a second look at its amazing design.

The smartphone seen in the new photo has a very slim appeal. Except for the slightly thick bottom bezel, the other bezels surrounding the screen are very thin. The bezels are so slim that it is hard to imagine whether the smartphone will be featuring a selfie camera. However, there is a possibility that it may arrive with a flip-up camera on its rear camera that will double up as a selfie snapper.

The exact size of the unidentified Vivo phone is not known. The Vivo X20 and X20 Plus respectively feature a 6-inch and 6.43-inch display. Hence, the mysterious Vivo could be housing a 6-inch or 6.43-inch display. From the image, it is quite evident that it will be delivering a screen-to-body ratio that is close to 100 percent. The large-sized display on the unidentified Vivo phone could be featuring an in-screen fingerprint reader.

Vivo is reportedly working on Vivo X30 and Vivo Xplay 7 flagship smartphone. Leaked images of the alleged Vivo X30 has shown that it will be arriving with a notch-enabled full screen design like the iPhone X. The Xplay 7 could be the Snapdragon 845 powered smartphone from the company. These leaks are concrete not evidences. Hence, it is difficult to guess whether the mysterious phone is Vivo X30, Xplay 7 or some other phone.

Last week, Vivo announced the Vivo X20 Plus UD as the world’s first smartphone with an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Since, it’s actually a revamped Vivo X20 Plus, there wasn’t so much to be excited about. However, our interest piqued when photos of the display panel of its successor, the Vivo X30 surfaced online.

Today, a new photo has leaked and this time it shows a working prototype. The picture shows Vivo’s brand ambassador, Lu Han, holding the alleged Vivo X30. If you zoom in closer, you should see the iPhone X-like notch at the top.

Thanks to the tri-bezel-less design, the Vivo X30 will likely have a smaller form factor than its predecessor. This is due to the removal of the area usually reserved for the top bezel. The small notch at the top is now home to the front camera, earpiece, and sensor. However, unlike the iPhone X, there is still a small bezel at the bottom.

There is no info with respect to the specs of the Vivo X30 but we expect it to pack flagship features albeit with the yet-to-be announced Snapdragon 670 processor for mid-range phones. It should also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

An industry insider with a consistent track record of revealing information on forthcoming phones has leaked two images of the display panel of the alleged Vivo X30. The new images reveal that the upcoming X30 smartphone will be arriving with a notch enabled full screen design like the Apple iPhone X.

Recent reports have revealed that some of the smartphone manufacturers from China are working on next-generation phones with iPhone X-like design. Around two months ago, the rumored mill had revealed that the forthcoming OPPO R13 looks quite similar to the first OLED iPhone from Apple. The flagship phone from the upcoming Huawei P11 series is also speculated to feature a notch at the topside of the display. Xiaomi is also reportedly working on Mi MIX 2S with a similar design. Freshly leaked images of the display panel of the rumored Vivo X30 shows that it will be also appearing like the iPhone X.

As it can be seen in the below images, the alleged Vivo X30’s top bezel has a U-shaped notch like appearance. However, the notch is not as big as the one found on the iPhone X. It is small enough to house the earpiece and a front-facing camera.

The probable reason behind a small-sized notch could be that it may not be featuring an advanced frontal camera like the TrueDepth Camera system found on the iPhone X. The images also reveal that the handset will be arriving with ultra-thin side bezels and slightly thicker bottom bezel.

Vivo has recently launched the Vivo X20 Plus In-Fingerprint Screen version as the world’s first under-display fingerprint scanner phone. However, there is no confirmation on whether the Vivo X30 will be featuring a in-display fingerprint reader. It may so happen that the new biometric recognition technology could be available on the larger Vivo X30 Plus phone. Hence, the X30 may come with a rear-mounted fingerprint reader.
