Huawei recently confirmed that the Nova 12 series of smartphones will be announced on Dec. 26 in China. Interested customers can currently place pre-orders for the devices through Huawei JD.com’s official flagship store. The listing confirms that the pre-sale of the Nova 12 lineup will begin at 16:08pm (local time) on Dec. 26 in China. Following a strategy similar to the Huawei Mate 60 series, the Nova 12 series will be part of the Pioneer Plan, allowing users to reserve their devices ahead of the official release date.

Huawei Nova 12 series reservations begin

The Nova 12 lineup is said to include four models, such as the Nova 12 Vitality Edition (or Nova 12 Lite), Nova 12, Nova 12 Pro, and Nova 12 Ultra. Each model is expected to cater to different price ranges, with the Vitality Edition likely to be priced at around 1,000 Yuan, the standard version targeting the 2,000 Yuan price range, and the Pro and Ultra versions positioned at the 3,000 Yuan and 4,000 Yuan price range, respectively.

In terms of hardware, it is reported that the Nova 12 Vitality Edition and Nova 12 are said to be 4G models powered by Snapdragon chipsets. The Nova 12 is said to have the Snapdragon 778G 4G chip and support 66W fast charging.

The Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra are likely to feature an under-clocked version of the Kirin 9000s chip. For those who don’t know, the homegrown Kirin 9000s was first seen powering the Mate 60 series, which debuted in September and October of this year. It is speculated that the Nova 12 Ultra will also offer two-way satellite communication.

A recent report has already leaked the key specifications of all four devices, along with their configurations and prices. The report also claims that the brand is also working on the Huawei Pocket S2 flip-style foldable phone, but there is no official confirmation on whether it will debut with the Nova 12 lineup. Contradictory reports also suggest that the Pocket S2’s launch has been postponed to 2024.

MrMacRight conducted performance tests comparing the iPhone 15 Pro, M1 iPad, and M2 iPad with a focus on “Resident Evil 4: Remastered.” The results, as uploaded in a video, indicate that the iPhone 15 Pro struggled to deliver a satisfactory gaming performance. The game, running at a resolution of 1560×720 with MetalFX sharpening technology enabled, consistently fell short of the capped 30 FPS (frames per second) on iOS.

While simpler scenes maintained a relatively stable frame rate, reaching close to 30 FPS, more intense scenarios such as combat caused a significant drop, plunging below 25 FPS and, in some instances, as low as 20 FPS. The graphics experienced severe stuttering during these moments, substantially impacting the overall gaming experience, particularly when using a sniper rifle.

In contrast to Resident Evil Village’s successful adaptation to the iPhone, the iOS version of Resident Evil 4 Remake lacks customizable settings and relies on preset graphics. Notably, the much-anticipated ray tracing feature, previously emphasized by Apple, is notably absent.

One prominent factor contributing to the iPhone 15 Pro’s subpar performance is likely heat dissipation issues. The device experienced rapid temperature increases during testing, triggering a reduction in frequency limit and exacerbating stuttering problems. Interestingly, while the iPhone 15 Pro faced challenges, the iPad Pro equipped with the M2 chip showcased superior performance. Running the game at a higher resolution with a more stable frame rate, the iPad Pro emerged as a more reliable option.

The Poco X6 Pro 5G might be launching globally in January 2024. While Poco hasn’t made an official announcement yet, a report by xiaomiui.net suggests that the company may launch the Poco X6 Pro 5G smartphone in the last week of January.

The phone popped up on Xiaomi’s internal test servers running HyperOS suggesting a launch could be imminent.

The rumor is further strengthened by the fact that the Poco X6 Pro has also appeared on certification websites like FCC, NBTC, IMEI, and BIS.

Speaking of the FCC, it revealed some interesting details. The X6 Pro will come in three storage options, and surprisingly, the build materials differ between them. Both the 8GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB versions will have plastic frames, while the other 12GB+512GB variant gets a fancy PU frame.

Rumors suggest the X6 Pro is essentially a rebranded Redmi K70E. If that’s true, we can expect a gorgeous 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED display with an 1800 nits peak brightness and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will come with Dimensity 8300 Ultra SoC paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Camera-wise, the Poco X6 Pro might pack a triple-lens setup on the back. The main sensor will be a 64-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) for sharp, steady shots. Joining it will be an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. For selfies and video calls, there will be a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

Likewise, keeping the lights on will be a 5500mAh battery with impressive 90W fast charging support.

Certain Apple Watch imports were prohibited after the US International Trade Commission (ITC) found in October that Apple had violated Masimo’s patents for a blood oxygen sensor. According to Bloomberg, Apple engineers are “racing” to change the algorithms used for the blood oxygen sensor in the Apple Watch to avoid having to stop selling the watch.

Apple said earlier today that it will stop selling the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the United States from December 21. The sources who talked to Bloomberg stated that engineers are reportedly changing how oxygen saturation is calculated and how users receive the data. These adjustments are likely to eliminate technology that is purportedly infringing on Masimo patents.

This action aligns with Apple’s announcement that it is “pursuing a range of legal and technical options” to ensure that sales of Apple Watch can get back on track as quickly as feasible. Hardware covered by Masimo’s patents powers the Apple Watch blood oxygen sensor, and Masimo thinks that a software update won’t be sufficient to resolve the patent infringements. According to Masimo, “the hardware needs to change,” as reported by Bloomberg.

However, the company appears to believe that a software-based solution will be enough, as a representative informed Bloomberg that it is working on submitting a workaround. Given that Apple will need to test the modifications, it seems doubtful that a software update will be released before the end of sales. Updates to the hardware would take at least a few months.

Apple plans a $17 billion rescue for Watch Business to avoid ban in the US

Now, the company has taken the initiative to prepare for compliance with the ITC’s ruling, even if the White House has until December 25 to decide. The Watch Series 9 and the Watch Ultra 2 will no longer be available for purchase at stores in the US from December 21 at 2:00 PM Pacific Time. Additionally, online sales will also stop after December 24.

However, The Apple Watch SE will still be available in other nations in addition to the Apple Watch as it is not equipped with a blood oxygen sensor. The business plans to appeal the ITC’s decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on December 26 if a motion to reconsider is not given.

A Presidential Review Period is in progress regarding an order from the U.S. International Trade Commission on a technical intellectual property dispute pertaining to Apple Watch devices containing the Blood Oxygen feature. While the review period will not end until December 25, Apple is preemptively taking steps to comply should the ruling stand. This includes pausing sales of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 from Apple.com starting December 21, and from Apple retail locations after December 24. The decision does not impact sales of the devices in other countries at this time.

Apple's teams work tirelessly to create products and services that empower users with industry-leading health, wellness, and safety features. Apple strongly disagrees with the order and is pursuing a range of legal and technical options to ensure that Apple Watch is available to customers. Oppo is reportedly working on three flagship phones dubbed the Find X7, the Find X7 Pro, and the Find X7 Ultra for the Chinese market. Reports have revealed that the Find X7 will feature the Dimensity 9300 chipset, whereas the X7 Pro and X7 Ultra will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In a new Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the display specifications of the Find X7 and X7 Ultra.

Find X7 series display details leaked

As per the leaker, the Find X7 will have a 6.78-inch BOE 8T LTPO display that offers a 1.5K resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels. On the other hand, the Find X7 Ultra will have a larger 6.82-inch BOE 8T LTPO screen that produces a 2K resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels. Both screens employ 2160Hz PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to reduce flicker and eye strain. For higher brightness, both displays support 3Pulse/1Pulse DC dimming.

While it is not mentioned in the leak, it appears that the displays of the Find X7 and X7 Ultra will support up to 120Hz refresh rate. Midea has announced the WASHBOT washer and dryer. The Midea WASHBOT is a washing machine with a built-in robot vacuum dock. It is a two-in-one gadget for laundry and floor cleaning. The combined robot vacuum cleaner and washing machine offer a versatile approach to home cleaning. The WASBOT will enter the market via an upcoming Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign.

The Midea WASHBOT is designed to optimize limited space in the home. Its compact design makes it a top choice among a list of popular self-cleaning docking stations. It is quite compact when compared with the Roborock Q Revo Robot Vacuum and Mop which has dimensions of 19.2 x 13.4 x 22 inches. It features a single connection point for the plumbing to take care of clean water filling and dirty water draining. The single connection makes it pretty straightforward to set up and get running.

The WASHBOT offers AI-powered gentle steam cleaning and drying of clothes at up to 42ºC. This delivers top-notch and efficient cleaning and vacuuming of the home. The vacuum robot and washer dryer can operate in spaces up to 200 sq. meters. It is equipped with obstacle detection and its powerful auto-cut system helps to remove tangled hair quickly. The docking station is self-emptying and allows for up to 60 days of hands-free operation. It cleans and sanitizes the mop with hot water cleaning and hot air drying.

The Midea WASHBOT washer dryer is about 24 inches wide and can fit snugly into enclosed spaces. Midea says it will soon open the crowdfunding campaign for the WASHBOT via Indiegogo. The full launch details on Indiegogo are however lacking at this time. Midea is encouraging customers to sign up for email updates to get an additional 25% discount.

According to the deal, MiHoYo, known for developing popular games such as Genshin Impact, will be designing exclusive games specifically for the HarmonyOS operating system. Console manufacturers, like Sony, have been using this strategy for a while. They boost their sales by having games that you can only play on their console, like Spider-Man.

The agreement will not only cover exclusive games but also include existing titles. For example, Genshin Impact will gain native HarmonyOS support and operate with much higher performance than before. Additionally, with cross-platform support, it will be possible to play simultaneously with Android and iOS users. These developments are expected to benefit both Huawei and MiHoYo, attracting more app developers to HarmonyOS.

Features

The Doogee S41 Max is designed to withstand the harsh conditions of outdoor usage and comes with IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certification. The new Doogee S41 Max is promoted as being impervious to damage when it comes in contact with sand or water.
