Chinese smartphone company Oppo is preparing to unveil its highly anticipated Oppo Reno 10 series in the Chinese market. The official announcement states that the Oppo Reno 10 series will make its debut on May 24 in China, and pre-orders have already begun on the company’s website in China. Oppo has uploaded the official design renders and key specs on the pre-order listing.

The Oppo Reno 10 series will consist of three models: Oppo Reno 10, Oppo Reno 10 Pro, and Oppo Reno 10 Pro+. All three smartphones will feature curved display panels and triple-rear camera setups. Additionally, they will be equipped with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

Now, it looks like the Indian launch of the smartphone could happen soon as it has appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website.

According to a previous leak, the device is anticipated to feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display. While the display type remains unconfirmed, some suggest it may employ an LCD panel.

In terms of photography, the Vivo Y02t is expected to sport a 13-megapixel primary camera, while details regarding any additional cameras or the front-facing camera are still under wraps.

The black version is priced at 799 yuan ($114), while the white version is priced at 899 yuan ($128).

The Lenovo Xiaoxin Ergonomic Chair C5 Air features a double-back design that provides precise support for the lower back. It also offers adjustable features such as a neck pillow, armrests, and seat height, making it suitable for individuals with different heights and sitting postures. The chair is designed to accommodate users with a height range of 155 to 185 cm and a weight of up to 125 kg.

The Chinese tech giant also announced the Xiaoxin Aluminium Alloy Cooling Bracket Z2. The Lenovo Xiaoxin Aluminium Alloy Cooling Bracket Z2 is designed with a super-large hollow and foldable design. It is made of 4mm thick aluminum alloy material and has CNC processing at the corners to prevent cutting hands. The bracket is also height adjustable with five gears, making it suitable for 11-16 inches of various equipment. The initial price of the product is 79 yuan.

The Xiaoxin aluminum alloy cooling bracket Z2 is said to be capable of reducing the temperature of the computer GPU by 5°C and also reduce noise by 5dB. It has a golden triangle structure that can support a load of up to 10kg.

The contact part of the bracket and the notebook has soft silicone to prevent sliding and scratches caused by contact between the notebook and metal. The bottom of the bracket is also equipped with soft silicone to increase friction with the desktop, making typing more stable.

In early April, the Realme GT Neo 5 SE launched in China as the world’s second smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2 chipset. Weeks after its debut, the brand is now teasing a new color option.

The new hue for Realme’s latest upper mid-range smartphone will be announced tomorrow (May 18). The brand has confirmed that this shade will be based on Transformers.

The collaboration is meant for the promotion of the upcoming movie Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. This movie is scheduled to release worldwide on June 9.

This update comes on the heels of the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority’s order for Meta (Instagram’s parent company) to sell Giphy last year. Despite that, Instagram has decided to leverage the popular GIF platform to enhance user interactions within the app.

But that’s not all. Mosseri also revealed that Instagram is testing another exciting feature called lyrics in Reels. This feature builds upon the auto-caption sticker introduced by Meta in 2021. The inclusion of a timeline at the bottom of the interface will allow users to sync the captions accurately, enhancing the overall experience of watching and creating Reels.

YouTube‘s algorithm has come under scrutiny after a study conducted by the Tech Transparency Project (TTP) revealed that it recommended videos promoting guns, school shootings, and a movie about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer to accounts for young gamers. The findings raise concerns about the safety of YouTube’s recommendation system and its impact on the well-being of young users.

YouTube pushed shooting and weapon-related content to young kids

The study involved creating four test YouTube accounts, two identified as nine-year-old boys and two as 14-year-old boys, who showed interest in video games by watching gaming playlists. The researchers analyzed the videos recommended by YouTube’s algorithm to these minor accounts, with some engaging with the recommendations and others not.

Contrary to YouTube’s claims of delivering responsible recommendations, the study found that YouTube pushed content related to shootings and weapons to all gamer accounts. However, the accounts that clicked on the recommended videos were exposed to a significantly higher volume of gun and shooting-related content. These recommendations included videos depicting school shootings, instructions on modifying firearms into automatic weapons, and a movie about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer.

Notably, many of these videos violated YouTube’s own policies on violence, firearms, and child safety. Despite this, YouTube appeared to take no action to age-restrict or remove the videos. This contradicts YouTube’s 2021 assertion that its recommendations do not steer viewers toward extreme content.

YouTube’s popularity among young people is evident, with a 2022 Pew Research survey revealing that 95% of surveyed individuals between the ages of 13 and 17 used the platform. Despite this, YouTube has received less scrutiny than platforms like TikTok and Instagram regarding their impact on teen development and well-being.

YouTube’s recommendation algorithm operates based on user signals, such as clicks, watch time, and video preferences. Recommendations drive a significant portion of overall viewership on the platform, emphasizing the importance of delivering engaging content and ads. While users cannot disable the recommendations feature, they can remove individual recommended videos from their feeds.

The study highlights the need for YouTube to address the issues with its recommendation system, especially concerning the exposure of minors to harmful and inappropriate content. Stricter enforcement of policies and age restrictions, along with ongoing transparency and accountability, are necessary to ensure a safer and more responsible YouTube experience for young users.

The upcoming OPPO Reno 10 series smartphones will be officially launched in the Chinese market on 24th May. Ahead of the launch, the company has now started taking pre-orders for the devices.

As per the previous leaks, the OPPO Reno 10 will feature a 6.74-inch OLED curved-edge screen with a Full HD+ screen resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor along with 12GB of RAM. It packs 4,600mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

In the camera department, there will be a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B primary camera, an 8-megapixel IMX355 ultra-wide camera, and a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 telephoto camera with 2x zoom. On the front side, there’s a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 sensor for taking selfies and video calling.

On the other hand, the OPPO Reno 10 Pro is said to have a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1220 x 2712 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC with 12GB or 16GB of RAM. It is said to be packs a 4,600mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.

At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, Lenovo announced a slew of products, one of which was the YOGA AIO 9i desktop. The all-in-one PC came with a unique design including a 32-inch display. It also features a 13th-gen Intel Core procssor and NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU. There are indications that Lenovo would launch the AIO desktop under a different, even more interesting name in China.

Teaser posters released by the leading PC manufacturer show that the device will launch as the YOGA Air 32 AIO desktop in its home market. The teasers also suggest the device will be released soon. According to the teaser posters, the Lenoov YOGA Air 32 All-in-One machine will be powered by the Intel COre i9-13900H processor with NVIDIA RTX 4050 graphics card. The device wil also feature up to 32GB LPDDR5-6000 and 1TB SSD.

While no other information is revealed by the posters, we know already that the device will feature a 31.5-inch 4K IPS display panel with support for HDR600 and 97% DCI-P3 color gamut. The gadget features a slim panel with a metallic hinge, allowing the user to adjust the display to their preferred angle. Its sleek design includes a base with seven ports for versatile connectivity options, as well as air ventilation to ensure efficient heat dissipation. One standout feature is the built-in wireless charger in the base, enabling convenient device charging while working. With its compact form and space-saving design, this gadget offers a practical solution for those seeking both functionality and an aesthetically pleasing setup.

The specifications of the Motorola Razr 40 are not yet known. However, recent reports have revealed that it will have a foldable screen with a centrally positioned punch-hole. The back panel of the device will have a dual-camera system with an LED flash and a smaller display that will be sufficient for showing time, date, and some notifications. It is expected to arrive in three shades, such as green, purple, and off-white.

Today, the brand has launched a new pair of truly wireless earphones under its BTG label, which stands for ‘Born to Game’. The product is officially called Truke BTG Storm.

Just like the previous BTG series TWS from Truke, the Storm also arrives with RGB lights. The lights can be found on the sides of the charging case and on the buds as well. Unfortunately, they are still not customizable.

The case looks like a shield or a badge. The earbuds are in-ear type and use silicone tips. They feature 13mm drivers.

The accessory comes with Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity. It supports SBC and AAC audio codecs. It also offers touch controls and ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) for calls.

The IPX4-rated buds arrive with a low latency mode for gaming. The latency reduces up to 40ms in this mode. Finally, there is a microphone on each bud.

The buds house a 40mAh battery each, while the case includes a 300mAh battery. The company claims that the buds can last around 8-10 hours on a full charge. With the charging case that charges via a USB Type-C port, the total endurance is rated at up to 50 hours.

The Trule BTG Storm earbuds are priced at ₹1,099. But for today (May 17) and tomorrow (May 18), it will be sold at a discounted price of ₹899.

Google has recently released Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.2, a minor update that brings important fixes and enhancements to the operating system. This update focuses on resolving critical issues to improve user experience and performance.

Users on the QPR3 Beta Build will get an OTA update to Beta 3.2

The following significant fixes are included in Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.2:

Input Synchronization Issue: A bug causing windows to either stop receiving touch input or receive input in the wrong location has been successfully addressed (Issue #279560321).
Wi-Fi Calling Disconnections: The update fixes an issue that led to unexpected disconnections during Wi-Fi calls.
SIM Card Detection and Activation: Users will no longer experience difficulties with SIM card detection or activation during phone setup.
IMS Registration over Wi-Fi: The update ensures successful registration of IMS over Wi-Fi when transitioning from LTE coverage to Wi-Fi coverage.
Cellular Connectivity Stability: Various issues that caused unexpected dips in cellular connectivity speeds and reliability have been resolved.

Users who are already running a QPR3 beta build will receive an automatic over-the-air (OTA) update to Beta 3.2.

To obtain Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.2, follow these simple steps:

Check Device Compatibility: The update is available for a range of Google Pixel devices, including Pixel 4a and 4a (5G), Pixel 5 and 5a, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, and Pixel 7 and 7 Pro.

Earlier this month, Realme held a launch event in China to announce the Realme 11, Realme 11 Pro, and Realme 11 Pro+ smartphones. Recent reports have claimed that these devices will also be released in other markets, including India. As mentioned above, the Realme 11 lineup will also release in some other global markets in June. However, it is unclear whether the Realme 11 will debut alongside the Pro models or launch separately.

Realme 11 Pro, Realme 11 Pro+ specifications

The Realme 11 Pro and the Realme 11 Pro+ are equipped with a 6.74-inch OLED panel with curved edges. The screen offers an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Both phones run on the Realme UI 4.0-based Android 13 OS.

The Realme 11 Pro has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, whereas the Pro+ features a 32-megapixel selfie snapper. The back panel of the Pro model features an OIS-enabled 100-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the other hand, the Pro+ has a 200-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro snapper on the back.

The Realme 11 Pro series is powered by the Dimensity 7050, which also powers the recently unveiled Lava Agni 2 5G. Both house a 5,000mAh battery. The Realme 11 Pro and 11 Pro+ support 67W and 100W charging, respectively.

As per a recent report, the Realme 11 Pro will arrive in three options, such as 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. On the other hand, the Realme 11 Pro+ will arrive in two configurations, such as 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. Both phones are expected to arrive in three shades, such as Astral Black, Oasis Green, and Sunrise Beige. At present, there is no word on their prices for the Indian market.

Infinix is expected to announce multiple Note 30-branded smartphones this month. In fact, the Infinix Note 30i has already gone official without any fanfare. The device is now listed on the company’s website with all its specifications and images. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the price or availability of the device.

The Infinix Note 30i has a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a centrally positioned punch-hole. The device offers an FHD+ resolution, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and a 60Hz refresh rate. The phone offers a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the Infinix Note 30i features the Helio G85 chipset and 8 GB of RAM. The device comes with up to 256 GB of internal storage. It comes preloaded with Android 13 OS, which is overlaid with Infinix’s XOS.

The Note 30i is equipped with dual stereo speakers powered by JBL. It houses a 5,000mAh battery with 33W rapid charging support. With the reverse charging feature, the Note 30i can be used to power up other devices.

The Note 30i is equipped with a 16-megapixel camera for shooting selfies. On the back, it has a 64-megapixel primary camera and two unknown cameras. For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner. Lastly, it offers IP53-rated dust and splash resistance.

The Infinix Note 30i’s price is yet to be confirmed. When available, buyers will be able to get it in shades like Obsidian Black, Variable Gold, and Impression Green.

Google may Start Deleting Inactive GMail Accounts Soon

Google recently announced that it will be implementing a new policy regarding inactive accounts, aiming to enhance security and optimize storage space. Starting later this year, old and unused accounts that have been inactive for at least two years will be deleted. This update affects personal Google Accounts and excludes accounts managed by businesses or schools. However, accounts with YouTube videos will not be deleted to preserve historical content.

Users have sufficient time to retrieve any important data

The deletion process will commence in December 2023 at the earliest, and Google plans to take a phased approach, beginning with GMail accounts that were created but never utilized. To ensure users are well-informed, multiple notifications will be sent to the account’s email address and the recovery email, if provided, in the months leading up to deletion. This careful rollout aims to give users sufficient time to take action or retrieve any important data before their accounts are permanently deleted.

To keep an account active, users need to sign in periodically or perform basic actions such as reading or sending emails, using Google Drive, watching YouTube videos, downloading apps from the Play Store, conducting Google searches, or signing in to third-party apps or services using “Sign in with Google.” Moreover, using a signed-in Android device is also considered activity, according to Google.

However, Google Photos already has a separate two-year sign-in and usage policy to ensure an account is deemed active. Accounts with active subscriptions on the Play Store, such as Google One or third-party apps, are also considered active.

The primary motivation behind this change is to bolster security. Inactive accounts, particularly those with old or reused passwords, are more susceptible to compromise. Google’s internal analysis reveals that abandoned accounts are at least 10 times less likely to have two-step verification enabled compared to active accounts. By deleting these inactive accounts, Google aims to mitigate the risks associated with identity theft, spam, and the dissemination of malicious content.

Furthermore, this approach helps limit the retention of unused personal information, aligning with industry standards. It’s worth noting that Google will not free up Gmail addresses for reuse when an account is deleted, distinguishing its policy from other services.

Google advises users to assign a recovery email and suggests utilizing the Inactive Account Manager to decide on appropriate actions when an account becomes inactive. Options available through this tool include sending files to trusted contacts, setting up a Gmail autoresponder, or initiating the deletion of the account.
