Samsung Exynos 2400 Chipset With 10-Core CPU Might Be in the Works

This year, Samsung favored Qualcomm’s chipsets over its own Exynos processors and launched the Galaxy S23 series with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC regardless of region. However, reports suggest the Exynos chipsets will make a comeback next year with the Galaxy S24 series. The forthcoming lineup is said to be powered by Exynos 2400 SoC in some regions. And today a known tipster has revealed some details about the upcoming mobile processor.

Tipster Ice Universe claimed on Weibo that the Exynos 2400 is indeed under development. Unlike other mobile SoCs that feature an octa-core architecture, the upcoming Exynos platform will have 10 cores. The chipset may have the following cores: 1x Cortex-X4, 2x high-frequency Cortex-A720, 3x low-frequency Cortex-A720, and 4x Cortex-520.

Judging from the leaked information, the Exynos 2400 looks promising. However, there’s only so much we can learn from dry specs. Since Samsung is shifting to deca-core architecture, it’s possible other manufacturers (Qualcomm, MediaTek) may also implement this in their upcoming flagship chips.

The current best Android CPU— Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 — integrates 8 cores, with a prime core based on the ARM Cortex-X3 architecture and clocked at up to 3.2 GHz for 64-bit applications. Apple’s latest A16 bionic chip, on the other hand, is a 6-core chipset with 2 cores at 3460 MHz and 4 cores at 2020 MHz.

As mentioned, the upcoming Exynos 2400 chipset is reported to power the upcoming Galaxy S24 series. It’s possible that only limited regions will get the Exynos platform. We don’t expect Samsung to use the chipset on the upcoming foldables because they have always been powered by Qualcomm SoCs.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Gets Update for Improvement in Charging Stability

Samsung is known for releasing new wireless earbuds at its Galaxy Unpacked launch events. But the company did not debut any such product at the latest Galaxy S23 series conference.

Instead, the South Korean electronics giant is rolling out a new firmware update for the Galaxy Buds 2. Let’s check out what this latest update is all about.

According to SamMobile, Samsung has released a new software update for the Galaxy Buds 2. The OTA update arrives with the firmware version R177XXU0AWA3. It is currently available in South Korea.

As per the official changelog, the update improves the charging stability of wireless earbuds. It only weighs about 3.06MB. It should be available in more regions in the coming days.

Users of the product can head over to Earbud settings > Earbuds software update in the Galaxy Wearable app to check whether their unit has received the update.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is the successor of the Galaxy Buds Plus. It is almost identical to the Galaxy Buds Pro with some exceptions. The accessory was announced alongside the third-gen Galaxy Z series foldables in August 2021.

It offers features, such as dual drivers, Bluetooth 5.2, Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Qi wireless charging, up to 28-hour battery life, and IPX7 rating (only buds).

Huawei Testing HarmonyOS 3.1 for P60 Lineup debut

Reports say that Huawei is getting ready to launch the P60 series smartphones soon. It could launch sometime in March, however, a clear date is not available yet. Rumors say that the Huawei P60 series will come with new software onboard.

As you may know, Huawei was banned from using Google software and apps by the U.S. Commerce Department due to security reasons. After being kicked off the Google platform, Huawei developed its own operating system cammed HarmonyOS, which made its first appearance on the Mate 40 series and the Mate X2 foldable smartphones. Ever since then, the software has steadily been growing and getting polished.

Now, a new report from Gizchina has surfaced citing an unnamed tech blogger that reveals some interesting details about the upcoming version of HarmonyOS. According to the report Huawei is internally testing HarmonyOS 3.1. This will be a minor update to devices running HarmonyOS 3.0 like the Mate 50. As mentioned above, this build does not bring any major changes, and rather fixes some bugs and improves system stability. We can expect it to be pre-loaded in the P60 lineup.

The report also mentions that the next iteration of Huawei’s in-house OS called HarmonyOS 4.0 will come with major changes in the design of the system. The design change likely refers to a new UI interface. Currently, it is unclear when HarmonyOS 4.0 will make its debut. However, expectations are high with the third largest smartphone platform in the world which now has 2% of the global market share under control.

If you follow up with Electric vehicles, you must have heard of Rivian. The American EV manufacturer is known for its powerful electric trucks (you might have seen videos of them pulling semis and everything). Now, it seems the company is planning to foray into a different vehicle category. According to a report, Rivian is developing an electric bike.

As per a Bloomberg report, Rivian’s CEO RJ Scaringe told employees of the project during a company-wide meeting that the automaker has a “small group” of engineers working on a bike. While it’s unclear if Scaringe was talking about an e-bike or an electric motorcycle, he has teased an entry into the e-bike segment in the past. The company even has patents for e-bike designs and components.

The CEO has previously hinted at the possibility of an e-bike at a conference in October, stating that the automaker is ambitious to move into micromobility. Due to lower regulatory hurdles, Rivian’s electric bicycles could be launched into the market sooner in addition to its larger electric vehicles. The company will join automobile brands like Porsche in expanding into the electric bicycle market with the launch of its first e-bike.

The news that Rivian may have an e-bike in the works comes the same week that the company laid off six percent of its workforce for the second time in less than a year. The layoffs represent major restructuring, with the company now planning to refocus itself on scaling production of its R1T and R1S EVs.

Recently a lot of car makers have started to try their hands on e-bikes. We have seen big names like Porsche, Mercedes, Jeep, GM, and Hummer entering the category but they are yet to find any notable success.

Google Play Services for AR enables augmented reality experiences on Android devices. Almost all modern smartphones and tablets are certified for these services.

But for some reason, Google didn’t update the official compatibility list for a longer period of time. The list got updated only recently since July 2022.

The updated list includes 15 new Samsung devices but it misses the recently unveiled important ones.

According to SamMobile, the official Google Play Services for AR does not include the latest Galaxy S23 series. However, it contains the following Samsung smartphones and tablets.

Gizmore Partners With Optiemus Electronics for Manufacturing of Smartwatch

Gizmore is a quite popular smart accessory manufacturing brand. The brand has set high aims for the year 2023-24. They are planning to sell more than 1.5 million smartwatches this year and capture a 5% market share in India. The brand has also aimed to increase its smartwatch business from INR 50 crore to INR 200 crore. Alongside this, the brand has announced its partnership with Optiemus electronics for the manufacturing of smartwatches in the country.

The majority of the smartwatches’ production would, according to the official release, be handled by Optiemus under the Gizmore brand. They will produce almost 75% of the nation’s total supply of Gizmore smartwatches.

Gizmore’s CEO and co-founder, Mr Sanjay Kalirona, remarked that “Consumers have shown enormous faith in Gizmore. Consumer trust has allowed us to attain impressive growth figures. We have quickly established a solid base in the smartwatch market by introducing a number of new models. During the holiday season, we sold over 40,000 smartwatches in October of the previous year. In contrast, starting in January, we hope to sell more than 50,000 copies each month. We have several new product features coming out that we hope will continue to excite our customers. By the conclusion of the upcoming fiscal year, we can expect to have 5% of the Indian smartwatch market thanks to the very positive customer response and our ongoing efforts.

OEL will be used in the production of items like the Blaze Max, Vogue, and other forthcoming Amoled smartwatches from Gizmore. OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 11 5G in China in January of this year. Now, the brand is all set to launch it in the global market. The global launch event, dubbed “Cloud 11,” is scheduled to take place tomorrow (Feb. 7) at 7:30 pm (IST) in New Delhi, India. Apart from the OnePlus 11, the company will also unveil an affordable flagship phone, new TWS earbuds, and a new Q-series TV. In addition, it will also announce its first-ever tablet, the OnePlus Pad, and a mechanical keyboard.

How to watch the launch event?

The Cloud 11 event will be live-streamed across OnePlus’s global and Indian social media accounts, including YouTube and Twitter. Following the list of devices that are expected to go official tomorrow.

OnePlus 11 5G and OnePlus 11R 5G

The OnePlus 11 5G is the company’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship phone. On the other hand, the OnePlus 11R 5G, will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset. Both phones will sport a 120Hz AMOLED display with curved edges. The 11R has a centre punch-hole, whereas the OnePlus 11 5G has a camera cutout in the left corner of the screen.

Both phones are expected to offer up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. The duo will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 100W charging and run on Android 13 OS with OxygenOS on top.

The 11 5G will also feature a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The 11R’s rear camera setup will have an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel macro snapper. The OnePlus 11 may cost around Rs 55,000 in India, while the 11R could be priced at around Rs 45,000.

OnePlus Pad

According to rumors, the OnePlus Pad will be a high-end tablet with a 11.6-inch LCD display with a 2.8K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 9000 chip and a 9,500mAh battery will power the OnePlus Pad. It will have an 8-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The tablet will also arrive with support for stylus and optional keyboard.

OnePlus Buds Pro 2

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 premium earbuds will come with 11mm and 6mm audio drivers, offer up to 38 hours of playback time, and up to 45dB ANC support. With support for Google’s signature spatial audio feature onboard, Buds Pro 2 users will be able to enjoy theatre-like sound. It will also include features such as dual device connectivity, wireless charging, and an IP55 rating. It could be priced around Rs 11,999 in India.

OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro

The OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro will feature a 65-inch QLED screen with support for Google TV. It will offer seamless connectivity with OnePlus devices. It will arrive as the successor to the original Q1 Pro TV, which debuted in 2019.

OnePlus Keyboard

OnePlus’ first keyboard will be a mechanical keyboard that will work across different OS platforms like Windows, Mac, and Linux. In other words, the company is clearly focusing on the design language and visual aesthetic of the OnePlus Pad to make it stand out from the rest of the crowd. Based on what we know so far, the upcoming Pad will sport a tall 12.4 inch OLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC. It will even come with support for a magnetic keyboard and stylus as well. The OnePlus Pad will also come in a Halo Green color option.

OnePlus Featuring Keyboard 81 Pro

Samsung Galaxy S23 Series Lacks Support for Seamless Updates

Samsung recently debuted the Galaxy S23 series. The company’s latest flagship smartphones offer almost everything you expect from a premium phone. However, they don’t come with a handy feature, which is even found on some budget handsets.

The feature we are talking about is seamless updates. For the unaware, this feature is currently available on almost all premium Android smartphones, except for phones from Samsung and a couple of other OEMs.

Back in October, Samsung officially confirmed that they are working on introducing seamless update functionality with the release of One UI 6.0. Hence, the Galaxy S23 series was not expected to arrive with this feature and the same has happened.

Either way, it’s a shame that Samsung is taking this long to introduce a useful feature. Almost all other major brands implemented it a while back.

For the unaware, phones with support for seamless updates need not remain shut down for a longer duration during the installation of a new software update. The OTA system update gets installed in the background on these handsets and they only require a simple reboot at the end.

As One UI 6.0 based on Android 14 is expected to release later this year, the next-gen Galaxy S series, which would be most likely called the Galaxy S24 series, may finally offer support for seamless updates since it will come pre-installed with the said version of One UI.

POCO X5 5G, X5 Pro 5G With 120Hz AMOLED Displays Debut Globally

POCO X5 5G series has launched in global markets today. The lineup comprises the X5 and X5 Pro. Both variants share a few similar specifications. The Pro model is the more premium offering among the two. Read on to know what the POCO X5 5G series offers out of the box.

Starting with the common features, the POCO X5 5G series comes with a dual-tone back panel. The top portion has a horizontal island housing a vertical rectangular camera module whereas the rest of the back panel has a matte finish. The POCO X5 5G and X5 Pro 5G sport a 6.67-inch centre-aligned punch-hole AMOLED display bearing an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 1,200 nits brightness. The Pro variant also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button on both devices.

In the photography department, the POCO X5 5G and X5 Pro 5G are equipped with triple rear cameras. The former has a 108MP primary sensor whereas the latter features a 48MP main lens. Both devices come with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle unit and a 2MP macro shooter. The regular and Pro models have 13MP and 16MP front-facing selfie snappers respectively.

Internally, the POCO X5 5G houses the Snapdragon 695 SoC whereas the X5 Pro 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 778G chipset. Both variants pack up to 8GB RAM along with dynamic RAM expansion technology and up to 256GB onboard storage. The Pro model also features a vapour cooling chamber for heat dissipation. The POCO X5 duo are backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with the regular variant supporting 33W charging whereas the Pro model maxes out at 67W speed.

The POCO X5 5G series ships with MIUI 14-based Android 13 out of the box. Connectivity options on the devices include 5G, 4G VoLTE, IR Blaster, NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port. The Pro model also comes with X-axis linear motor.

As for the pricing, the POCO X5 5G costs $249 and $299 for the 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB options. The same configurations of the Pro model are priced at $299 and $349. In India, the POCO X5 Pro 5G carries a price tag of Rs 22,999 and Rs 24,999 for the 6GB + 12GB and 8GB + 256GB variants. Globally, the POCO X5 5G series will be available from February 7th.

The report says that the Nothing Phone (2) has the model number A065. It is tipped to launch in the third quarter of 2023 i.e. the period between July to September. To recall, the Nothing Phone (1) was launched in July last year. The upcoming offering is tipped to pack a flagship-grade experience.

The Nothing Phone (2) will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series processor. However, the exact chipset remains unknown. The device will atleast pack 12GB RAM onboard along with support for virtual RAM technology. The smartphone will come with 256GB internal storage. The upcoming offering is tipped to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery compared to a lesser 4,500mAh on the Nothing Phone (1).

On the front, the Nothing Phone (2) is expected to retain the AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate from its predecessor. The report adds that the upcoming offering will come with an adaptive display feature that will automatically adjust the refresh rate based on the on-screen content.

We expect more details to crop up about the Nothing Phone (2) in the coming months.

In December 2022, OnePlus introduced its new monitor offerings in India, the Monitor X 27 and Monitor E 24, with features, specifications, and pricing announced during the launch event. However, only the higher-end Monitor X 27 model is currently selling exclusively on the OnePlus India website, while there is no sale date specified for the Monitor E 24.

Now, the company has confirmed the availability of these monitors in India through online channels like Amazon and Flipkart. The monitors will be available from mid-February on these platforms. Let’s talk a look at all the information available on these monitors.

OnePlus Monitor X 27 specs

The OnePlus Monitor X 27 boasts a 27-inch QHD IPS display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a fast 1ms response time, a smooth 165 Hz refresh rate, and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space. With a brightness of 250 nits and HDR 400, the monitor is also certified by TÜV Rheinland for low blue light and flicker-free viewing.

This display offers a variety of connectivity options, including a USB Type-C port, an HDMI v2.1 port, a DP v1.4 port, two USB 3.0 ports, and a headphone jack. The monitor can be adjusted to various positions with its height-adjustable stand, which has a tilt range of -5° to 21°, a swivel range of -20° to 20°, and a pivot range of -90° to 90°.

OnePlus Monitor X 24 specs

The more budget-friendly monitor has a 24-inch Full HD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 75Hz. It has a quick 5ms response time and a brightness of 250 nits. The device is equipped with a USB Type-C port, an HDMI port, a headphone jack, and a VGA port for connectivity. The stand has a tilt range of -5° to 15° for comfortable viewing.

OnePlus Monitor X 27, Monitor E 24 price in India

The OnePlus Monitor X 27 is priced at Rs 27,999 in India and is available in Black color. The monitor will be up for grabs on February 15th via Amazon and Flipkart. The smaller, more affordable model will also be available in Black and will go on sale on the same date through Amazon and Flipkart. However, the price for the E 24 monitor has not been officially confirmed by the company.

A new leak has just revealed the rear camera design of the upcoming Oppo Find X6 Pro. This design was initially hinted in a previous report, and now, the latest leak confirms the triple camera module on the rear.

The leak arrives from tipster @数码闲话站 who shared an image that reveals the rear camera module lens frame. Looking at the image, we can clearly see three image sensors with two cameras on the top half and a lone camera on the bottom. The frame lens also features the Hasselblad branding, which continues Oppo’s partnership with the known camera lens maker. So we can expect the camera expert to offer deep optimization for its image output.

The tipster further added that the glass version of the Find X6 Pro will measrure around 9.2mm in thickness. He further added that the primary camera on the rear is a Sony IMX890 sensor, which is a 50 megapixel camera, and it also has a 1/1.56 inch size Sony periscope lens. For those unaware, the Find X6 series is the company’s next generation of flagship smartphones that are expected to feature latest flagship chips like Dimensity 9200 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The front is also believed to sport a 6.74 inch OLED display that has an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz and 2K resolution.

Under the hood, a large 5,000mAh batter pack will likely power this device and it could also support up to 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. Realme‘s upcoming GT Neo 5 smartphone is scheduled to launch on February 9 in China. Ahead of the launch, the brand has started teasing out some interesting facts about the device’s camera and its overall specifications.

Starting off, a recent teaser confirms that the smartphone will come with a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera sensor. For those unaware, this is the same camera sensor that recently made an appearance on its sister brand’s flagship model – OnePlus 11. It is also confirmed that this same sensor will also be featured on the OnePlus Ace 2/ OnePlus 11R. It appears that BBK International is launching some capable cameraphones this year.

Although the hardware of the Realme GT Neo 5 may be the same as the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R, the camera performance might be different due to the difference in turning on the software front.

Moving on, Realme has also teased that the GT Neo 5 will have a 150W fast-charging variant. As we know, the device is already confirmed to have a 240W SuperVOOC fast-charging variant. However, it will have a smaller 4600mAh battery pack. Compared to that, the lower 150W fast-charging variant will feature a bigger 5,000mAh battery. So customers will have a choice between either charging their devices faster or making them last a bit longer.

Realme GT Neo 5 specs

So far, it is revealed that the Realme GT Neo 5 has a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a high resolution of 2772×1240 pixels and support for a fast 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the device is expected to have an in-display fingerprint scanner and run on Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0 on top.

It will have 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB UFS 4.0 RAM. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ chip will handle the computing. Additionally, the device will have a triple camera system on the back with a 50MP primary camera + an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, the device will have a 16MP sensor for selfies.

Oppo has just revealed a list of smartphones that it will be rolling out the Android 13 OS based ColorOS 13 custom skin. The company is bringing the beta and official version to a number of its existing smartphone models. So here are all the devices that will be getting the major update.

The Chinese tech giant is currently rolling out the Beta version of the ColorOS 13 build to the F21s Pro 5G, the F19s, F19, and even the A77s model. Furthermore, it also plans on bringing the beta ColorOS 13 version to the Oppo F19 Pro later this month on 14th February 2023. Apart from this it it is also currently in the process of rolling out the official build of the custom skin with the latest Android operating system for a number of its other devices.

The Realme 10 Pro 5G Coca-Cola edition has a black-red dual-tone design. The black part has dual camera rings with red accents and the Realme logo towards the bottom. The right part of the phone’s back has the Coca-Cola branding with a red background.

The Realme 10 Pro 5G Coca-Cola edition is expected to pack the same specs as its regular version. It will feature a 6.72-inch IPS LCD panel with a centrally placed punch-hole. In light of the ongoing global recession, the iPhone 14 models are seeing price drops in China, with reductions of up to 848 yuan (~$125) being offered to stabilize sales. This comes after Apple reported a decline in revenue during the December quarter due to the impact of COVID-19 on the supply chain and weak demand in the world’s largest smartphone market in 2022.

Online retailers in China, such as JD.com, have marked down the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models by 800 yuan (~$118). With an additional 50 yuan (~$7.50) discount for members, these models are now available for 10.6% off the original price. This brings down the price of the 128GB iPhone 14 Pro by 848 yuan, down to 7150 yuan (~$1055).

Physical resellers have also jumped on the bandwagon, offering price cuts ranging from 630 yuan (~$93) to 725 yuan (~$107). Some of the most sought-after models have already sold out. For example, all iPhone 14 Pro models with 256GB or more storage were sold out at Suning outlets in Shenzhen shortly after the price cut was offered over the weekend.

Shenzhen retail chain Sundan also offered a 630 yuan (~$93) price reduction starting Sunday, but has now run out of stock for both the Pro and Pro Max models with max storage. The iPhone 14 Pro series runs on iOS 16 operating system and is powered by Apple A15 Bionic Hexa-core processor. It is packed with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1TB internal storage options.

However, the prices on Apple’s official website and brick-and-mortar stores in China have not changed as of Monday noon. This suggests that there is still a good level of inventory available, with online delivery or pickup options available.
