OnePlus Nord Buds CE Gets Bluetooth SIG Certification, Could Launch Soon

OnePlus Nord Buds CE have surfaced on the Bluetooth SIG certification site, hinting at an imminent launch. The listing does not offer any details regarding the headphones, however, they are expected to be a more affordable version of the OnePlus Nord Buds that were launched back in April. The earbuds appeared on the Bluetooth SIG website with model number E506A. Let’s have a look at the available details.

As per a report by MySmartPrice, OnePlus Nord Buds CE were spotted on the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) website with the E506A model number. The listing did not reveal many details of the earbuds, except that they will support Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity and run software labeled as X21E2_07_A.1.0.0.

The OnePlus Nord Buds CE are likely to be a cheaper version of the previous Nord buds. Why are we saying this? Because OnePlus products with the “CE” moniker are usually cheaper than other company products. Take OnePlus Nord CE smartphones for example, they are comparatively cheaper than the regular OnePlus Nord phones.

OnePlus is yet to make any official announcement regarding the Nord Buds CE. However, they are expected to launch soon as they have already gained Bluetooth SIG certification. We hope to learn more details about the buds in the coming days.

OnePlus Nord Buds Specifications

OnePlus Nord Buds were launched in April 2022. The earbuds came with an affordable price tag of $38. The earbuds feature 12.4 mm drivers and support Dolby Atmos audio. The buds come with a decent battery– they can play music for 7 hours non-stop on their own.

Moreover, the case brings the total listening time to 30 hours. The OnePlus Nord Buds, like every other OnePlus product, come with fast charging. A quick 10-minute charge can give up to 5 hours of playback.

Infinix’s 180W Thunder Charge powered flagship phone to launch this year

Infinix has launched its 180W Thunder Charge technology. The company will make it available with an upcoming flagship phone, which will launch later this year. The company’s new charging technology can charge a 4,500 mAh battery to 50 percent in just 4 minutes.

Last year, Infinix announced 160W Ultra Fast Charge technology as a concept model. However, the 180W Thunder Charge will be available to users later this year.  It will offer two kinds of charging modes. There will be a Furious Mode, which was also made available on the Infinix Note 12 VIP, which can charge at maximum speed. It will also have a normal mode, which can charge at a fast pace but manages to keep the temperature low.

Infinix 180W Thunder Charge technology
Infinix 180W Thunder Charge technology

Infinix has worked with the world’s leading battery manufacturers to develop a new 8C battery cell, which is the maximum charging rate rechargeable lithium battery in the industry at present. In order to reach a full charge in less time, the company will use two 8C-rated batteries to achieve a combined capacity of 4,500mAh, for example. Each battery will be charged at 90W. For safety, there will be multiple layers of protection and improvements to efficiency to make sure that the temperature inside the car stays low while it is charging.

Three parallel charge pumps with a charging conversion efficiency of 99 percent charge the two batteries, preventing overloads and overheating. For safety, the charging technology has 111 software and hardware security protection mechanisms to protect smartphones, chargers, and charging cables.

In addition, there are 20 sensors, which keep tabs on the temperatures of key components such as the USB port, the charging chips, the battery, and so on. The charging tech ensures that the temperature does not surpass the 43°C mark. This assists in preventing battery degradation.

Thunder Charge will use an encryption chip, which will verify the cable by checking whether it can handle the load. Users will be able to use their desired charging cables. Also, Thunder Charge can be used to power up other devices with a capped speed of 60W or 100W. Last but not least, the 180W Thunder Charge technology has also been approved by the TÜV Rheinland Safe Fast-Charge System.

Apple MacBook Air powered by M2 processor to go on sale from July 15

A few weeks ago, Apple announced the new M2 chipset that is powering the company’s newly launched MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops. While the MacBook Pro is available for purchase, the company hasn’t revealed exact launch date for the Air model.

Now, a new report from MacRumors, citing sources from retail, claims that the new Apple MacBook Air powered by the M2 chipset will be available for purchase from 15th July.

Apple MacBook Air

The new Apple MacBook Air has a starting price of $1,199 for the base model and goes up to $2,499 for the top-end model. This makes it a bit more expensive than the M1-powered MacBook Air launched a couple of years ago.

It continues to have a fanless design and looks quite similar to the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models of last year. Instead of the regular 13.3-inch display, the laptop comes with a new 13.6-inch display with up to 500 nits of brightness. The screen is said to be 25 percent brighter than its predecessor and it comes with support for 1 billion colors.

Powered by the new M2 processor, Apple claims that the Final Cut Pro performance is nearly 40 percent faster than on the M1 Air and Photoshop is up to 20 percent faster. There are two Thunderbolt ports on the left side, along with a headphone jack with support for high-impedance headphones.

It also comes with an updated 1080p camera along with four speakers and three microphones. Apple said that there’s also support for Dolby Atmos spatial audio. The Magic Keyboard now has a full row of function keys with Touch ID and Force Touch trackpad. It also has added support for the MagSafe connector for charging.

The laptop measures just 11.3 millimeters thick and weighs 2.7 pounds (1.2 kilograms). As for the battery life, the company is promising up to 18 hours of video playback and with an optional 67-watt power adapter it can charge up to 50 percent in 30 minutes.

Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Max vs Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro: Specs Comparison

If you need amazing set-top boxes available at a pretty affordable price, Xiaomi has two perfect choices for you: the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Max and the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro. While there is no word on whether Xiaomi will offer both these boxes globally, they are both available in the Chinese market at interesting prices and we know all of their specifications. This is a comparison between the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Max and the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro. The comparison will not be focused on which one is the best because these two devices are not so different from each other.

Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Max

The Max variant is one of the best TV boxes out there because it has an amazing hardware department. While most companies are shipping their set-top boxes with up to 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Max has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Thanks to this hardware, you can install a lot of apps and you can run a lot of apps in the background without experiencing lags and important limitations.

The chipset is a quad-core from Amlogic composed of Cortex-A55 CPUs. The GPU is an ARM Mali G31 MP2, enough to handle 4K video streaming. The device is able to support 8K content as well, thanks to the presence of an HDMI 2.1 port. But the processor is likely to struggle with 8K content since the chipset does not have hardware-accelerated support for the AV1 video codec. However, thanks to the presence of 4 GB of RAM, the box should be able to handle multi-tasking and other similar activities which require high resources.

Other features include support for Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth, and a USB 3.0 Type-A port. The box ships with a remote control featuring a microphone for voice controls. The Chinese version ships with MIUI for TV instead of Android TV. This operating system has limited support for popular video streaming services in the global market (such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube).

Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro

Coming to the Xiaomi Mi Box 4S Pro, it is a lower-end model with a less impressive memory configuration but a more interesting price. With this version, Xiaomi expanded its offering of set-top boxes. This version comes with 8K video recording support, even though the user will experience the same limits as the Max variant. You get up to 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, not as much as the Max, but still a sufficient amount for most of the users.

The Pro variant has an HDMI 2.1 port and a USB Type-A port as well. It ships with remote supporting voice commands and Android TV. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic S905X chipset with four ARM Cortex A53 cores and Mali G31 GPU, coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage as already mentioned. As for connectivity, it also features dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.3, and a USB 2.0 port, as well as a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a power input port.

Samsung kicks off production of chips using 3nm process technology

Global tech brand Samsung has announced the commencement of production of 3-nanometer (nm) chips. The process uses the Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor architecture and yields power-efficient and performance-enhanced chips. Samsung is also developing a second-generation 3nm process node that would offer significant improvements across several areas.Samsung

Samsung says the 3nm process uses 45% less power, improves performance by 23%, and uses 16% less surface area than a 5nn process. The process node incorporates a GAA transistor architecture with larger channels in gates for electricity to flow through at a lower voltage level. This is due to the utilization of all four sides of the channels, unlike the FinFET architecture.

The adaptability of the 3nm process node means that the channel width can be modified to meet specific client demands. This milestone development of 3nm chips gives Samsung a boost in the market. Samsung is the world’s second-biggest foundry. It is, however, the chipmaker of choice and has the largest contract base globally. The largest foundry, TSMC is preparing to commence mass production using its own 3nm process node.Samsung

The Samsung Advanced Foundry Ecosystem (SAFE) partners have played a major role in helping Samsung achieve the 3nm chips milestone. These include Ansys, Cadence, Siemens, and Synopsys. Samsung will in the future broaden the applicability of the 3nm process node to mobile CPUs. Samsung is silent on the identity of the OEM that the 3nn chips are being manufactured. The first mobile devices using the 3nm chips are expected in 2023.
