The Vivo T1 is a brand new series launched in 2022 in the global market with several models. The most important of them are the Vivo T1, the Vivo T1 Pro, and the Vivo T1x. Three variants, all affordable, but with important differences between their specs sheets. They all belong to the midrange segment and recently debuted in the Indian market. This is a comparison between their specifications which will highlight the differences. Note that a few days ago the first device from the T2 series debuted as well: the Vivo T2x. It should be soon followed by the vanilla T2 and maybe the T2 Pro. We will keep you updated as soon as it happens.

Design

These three handsets are not the best out there when it comes to the design. They are all built with a polycarbonate body and a polycarbonate frame, there are no premium materials. Further, they come with waterdrop notches. The Vivo T1 and the Vivo T1 Pro have the same design with a camera module including two circles, each with sensors inside. They are more beautiful than the T1x due to the more modern camera module and a U-shaped waterdrop notch instead of a V-shaped one. Further, they both come with in-display fingerprint readers, unlike the T1x which has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Display

Are you looking for the best display in terms of image quality? If so, choose the Vivo T1 Pro because it is undoubtedly the best. It has an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 6.44 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2404 pixels, a very high peak brightness, and the HDR10+ certification. The Vivo T1 looks to have the same display but without the HDR10+ certification, so it still provides a good image quality but it should be inferior on streaming platforms. The Vivo T1x is inferior with its IPS panel, but it has a better display for gaming because it sports a 90 Hz refresh rate. All of these phones come with a mono speaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Specs & Software

The most advanced phone in terms of hardware is the Vivo T1 Pro. First of all, it is the only one supporting the 5G connectivity. Further, it is faster and better for gaming thanks to the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform built at 6 nm and running at a max frequency of 2.4 GHz. It has higher CPU and GPU performance than the Snapdragon 680 4G chipset found on the Vivo T1 and the T1x, but you should consider that it is the only one of the trio without a micro SD slot. All of these handsets run Android 12 out of the box customized by Funtouch OS for the global market.

Camera

Again, the Vivo T1 Pro is superior in terms of camera setup. It has a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro sensor. The Vivo T1 and the T1x come with inferior 50 MP main cameras and they replace the ultrawide lens with a useless depth sensor. Further, the T1x is the most disappointing one because it has an inferior selfie camera as well.

Battery

The phone with the longest battery life is the vanilla Vivo T1 because it has a big 5000 mAh battery and, unlike the T1x, it sports an AMOLED display with lower energy consumption. The Vivo T1 Pro loses because it has a smaller battery, but it charges quicker thanks to 66W fast charging.

Price

The starting price of the vanilla Vivo T1 for the global market (with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage) roughly translates into €190/$204 at the actual change, the Vivo T1x starts from about €150/$161 in the 4/64 GB memory configuration, and the Vivo T1 Pro carries a starting price of €300/$322 for the 6/128 GB configuration. Did you understand which one fits your needs the most? The Vivo T1 and the Pro variant come with a better display, even though the T1x has a higher refresh rate. The T1 Pro is the best one thanks to faster charging, 5G connectivity, a superior chipset, and even better cameras. The T1 is just a T1x with a better display (it has an AMOLED panel, while its affordable sibling has an IPS display) but its price is slightly higher.

Haier has made an entry into the automated cleaning solutions market in India. The company today announced the launch of its first robot vacuum cleaner in India. The Haier Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner has a sleek design and several impressive features. The Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner is selling for Rs. 14,999 (~$193) at Amazon India and other outlets.

The Haier Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner has a model number of TH27U1 and features smart controls (app and voice). Its large 2,600mAh battery means the device can work for up to 90 minutes. The new robot vacuum cleaner can deliver a suction power of 2.2kPa while its proximity sensors ensure optimal performance. It can clean a variety of floor types while expertly avoiding obstacles while operational. The vacuum has a storage capacity of 600ml. A 350ml water tank is also available for the robot vacuum cleaner.

Cliff sensors in the Haier Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner enable the device not to fall from heights. With the help of the Haier Smart App, the user can schedule cleaning tasks, give voice commands, as well as do several other tasks. Four cleaning modes are present namely Auto, Edge, Spot, and Manual. The noise rating of the device is below 65dB and the device will automatically return to the charging station for charging.

Xiaomi has released the MIUI 13 beta build which is based on Android 12. The new software release is for the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold, offering a number of foldable features to the flagship.

The MIUI already features several useful options for foldables including split-screen multitasking, the home screen dock, and floating apps. The new additions will further enhance the overall user experience using the Mi Mix Fold.

The MIUI 13 for the Mi Mix Fold features an improved desktop layout for the inner display. Xiaomi has also optimized the dual-screen desktop for seamless functionality. Users will enjoy the multitasking features which have been refreshed from the previous build. Users can also use a three-finger gesture to enter the split-screen mode and open apps. The Control Center is also revamped. Thus, switching between the Control Center and the notification center is just a swipe away.

A 9-key dual-column and a dual GV keyboard forms are improvements from the previous build. All system apps have also been updated and optimized in terms of their page structure and layout. Owners of the Mi Mix Fold could download the MIUI 13 beta build. This will also involve the flashing of the build to bypass the normal account whitelisting.

Xiaomi has expanded its tentacles to the UK Fire TV market with the unveiling of the Xiaomi F2 fire TV. Xiaomi’s Fire TVs are based on the Amazon platform and will come in three sizes – 43 inches, 50 inches, and 55 inches.

The Xiaomi TV F2 fire TV comes at an introductory price starting at £339 ($427) and is listed on Amazon. The Xiaomi F2 Fire TV models will revert to their original prices after the first week in the UK. After the discount window is closed, the Xiaomi Fire TVs will sell between £399 (~$502) and £499 (~$628).

There had been challenges from manufacturers to break into the Fire TV architecture due to its Android-based restrictions. The Android Compatibility Commitment made it difficult for hardware providers to build similar devices that could be floated on Google Play. There were anti-trust issues raised against Google in this regard previously.

The three TVs come well-kitted for their stated discounted prices. They offer 4K resolution as well as HDR 10. They come with HDMI and USB ports and also support Bluetooth connectivity. The panel configuration makes the Xiaomi F2 a great device for gaming via a console. This should however be at a less intense pace with its 60 FPS rating.

As highlighted earlier, the Xiaomi F2 Fire TV is based on Amazon’s Fire TV platform. Google TV is one of the other foremost proprietary solutions in this regard. It does not require an Amazon account to deploy all the features available on the TV. It supports Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant. The Xiaomi F2 Fire TV models come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The TV’s capacity is just enough to install streaming services and is on the lower end of the spectrum.

ZTE has unveiled the Blade V40 Vita powered by Unisoc’s T606 chipset in Malaysia. The ZTE Blade V40 Vita comes with a 6.5-inch LCD with 720 x 1600px resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The Blade V40 Vita will sell in Malaysia for MYR 599 (~$137). The exclusive retailer for the model is Shopee and pre-orders will be opened from mid-June 2022.

The Unisoc T606 chipset in the Blade V40 Vita pairs with 4GB of RAM while there is 128GB of storage. The internal storage can be expanded via the MicroSD slot. The display of the ZTE Blade V40 Vita offers a 20:9 aspect ratio. The camera setup of the device includes a 48MP main camera, two 2MP auxiliary sensors, and an 8MP selfie camera.

Power for the ZTE blade V40 Vita is supplied by a 6,000 mAh battery, and 22.5W fast charging is supported. The ZTE Blade V40 Vita in Malaysia will come in two color options – Pine Green and Zeus Black. The smartphone will run on Android 11-based MYOS 11 out of the box. As mentioned earlier, the ZTE Blade V40 Vita will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from next month.

Huawei is one of China’s biggest names in AIoT products, which means that from time to time, people try to make easy profits using that name.

A similar incident occurred recently where an unauthorized seller was selling knockoff Huawei earbuds by fooling customers. The guilty party named Shenzhen Jinyun Video Equipment Co., Ltd. infringed on Huawei’s trademark and also used the “FREEBUDS” trademark for the counterfeit products. They also used taglines like “official genuine Huawei only” and “official original equipment” on their online products page to trick customers.

After numerous complaints from the victims of this long-running scam, Huawei investigated the matter and sued Shenzhen Jinyun Video Equipment Co., Ltd for trademark and copyright infringement. Other than that, Huawei also demanded 3 million yuan ($450,000 approx) for economic losses and also demanded that the accused bear the litigation cost.

The case was heard in the Yuhang District People’s Court of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, which ruled in Huawei’s favor and ordered Shenzhen Jinyun Video Equipment Co., Ltd to pay Huawei an amount of 1 million yuan ($150,000 approx) as compensation.

Redmi K50 Ultra display & camera specs tipped

Earlier this year, Redmi debuted its Redmi K50 series in China. The series consists of the Redmi K50G which comes powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, the Redmi K50 Pro, and the vanilla K50. Now, it appears that the brand is getting ready to add another device to this lineup as a recent report suggested that a more powerful Redmi flagship is in the works.

The device dubbed the Redmi K50 Ultra was previously tipped to work on Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform, which is much more efficient while being more powerful thanks to TSMC’s 4nm node. Now, a new report by Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the smartphone will feature a Full HD+ OLED display paired with 120Hz and DC dimming. It will be a flat screen with narrow bezels going around it, and the display will feature a single punch hole in the top center.

Other than that, the Redmi K50 Ultra is said to come with a 50-megapixel primary camera, which will likely be a better sensor than the 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor featured in the Redmi K50 Pro. The device will draw juice from a large 4800-5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.

Details about other specifications as well as the information on a launch timeline are still under wraps, but we’ll keep an eye out for any new developments, so stay tuned.

Microsoft has tried multiple methods to make its Edge browser more appealing to users. There are multiple new features currently under development that will debut soon. One of these new features is called Drop.

The feature was first discovered by Neowin, which works like a messaging service, with the only difference being that the messages can only be sent to yourself. Users can send and access anything, from text, pictures, or other fines across all their logged-in devices. From the screenshots provided, it appears to be placed on the sidebar, and will likely use the OneDrive for storage.

This new feature will be very convenient for sharing files across different devices like if they have to send something quickly from their mobile device to their PC or vice versa. However, to use this feature to its full potential, users will likely need to buy a OneDrive storage plan.

The feature is currently available only to some Microsoft Edge Insiders participants who are running the latest version of the browser available in the Canary channel.

The Huawei Matebook 14 2022 is available in both i5 and i7 processor configurations and the first sale pricing for both models are as follows:

Both models feature Intel Iris XE Integrated Graphics, 16GB of fast LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB of PCIe SSD storage onboard. The Huawei Matebook 14 2022 is powered by a 56Wh Lithium-Ion battery with 65W USB-PD fast charging via the USB-C port. The ultrabook is housed within a sturdy aluminium chassis that measures the device to be 15.9 mm thick and weighs in at 1.49kg. The device is available in Moon Silver and Night Grey colour options.

As for the screen, the Huawei MateBook 14 2022 comes with a 14-inch touchscreen IPS LCD display that offers a 2K screen resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels along with a 3:2 aspect ratio, 300 nits brightness, and 1500:1 contrast ratio.

Honor Watch GS 3 smartwatch gets a new Summer Orange color variant

Huawei’s offshoot Honor has announced a new color variant of the Watch GS 3. The Honor Watch GS 3 was first announced in January alongside the Magic V smartphone. The watch was initially offered in silver, gold, and a black variant with the gold and silver variant utilizing Nappa leather straps while the black variant has rubber straps.

The new Summer Orange color variant of the Watch GS 3 comes with rubber straps with a bright orange hue. The watch also gets a watch face with orange accents. Aside from the color option, the watch has the same features as the other variants.

As a reminder, the watch is manufactured using 316L low-carbon stainless steel with a 3D curved glass and a graduated bezel. The watch weighs 44g and has a thickness of 10.5mm. The Watch GS packs a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a 326 ppi pixel density. Internally, the watch crams a 451 mAh battery that is said to bring up to 14 days of battery life on typical usage but when the GPS is turned on, it can last for 30 hours. The watch comes with fast charging as a 5-minute charge can serve a day’s usage.

The watch comes with an 8-channel PPG module that brings up to 97% minimum accuracy for heart rate tracking. The watch also has support for 24/7 blood oxygen tracking as well as sleep monitoring with over 200 suggestions to improve your sleep.

You also get a dual-frequency positioning supporting the five major satellite constellations of GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, and NAVIC. Users can also avail themselves of the over 100 sports modes onboard, 10 of which are categorized as professional sports modes. It runs on LiteOS and is powered by an Apollo4 chipset with 4GB of storage onboard. There is support for AliPay in China, thanks to the NFC chip on board and some pre-installed apps. The watch comes with 5ATM water resistance.

The Honor Watch GS 3 Summer Orange color variant carries a price tag of 1299 yuan (~$195). The smartwatch is presently up for reservation in China.

Realme Techlife ecosystem brand DIZO seems to be focused on smartwatches and earbuds. Although there are a couple of other gadgets under the brand’s arsenal, the company has released more smartwatches and earbuds than any other products within a year since it opened shop in India. The company’s smartwatch lineup includes the Dizo Watch, Watch 2, Watch Pro, Watch 2 Sports i, Watch S, and Watch R. The company is reportedly planning to add a new watch dubbed Dizo Watch D.

The DIZO Watch D is scheduled to launch in India on June 7 at 12 noon, according to a couple of teaser posters that are apparently from the brand but were shared by Twitter tipster TechnoAnkit1. The posters equally gave up an idea of the features that the Watch D will come with.

The Watch D will feature a large 1.8-inch display which is 15% bigger than the display size of the brand;’s previous models. The display is expected to come with 550 nits brightness and a curved tempered glass cover. The smartwatch utilizes a metal frame and has up to 50m water resistance.

DIZO is also teasing the smartwatch to come with over 150 colorful watch faces and a customizable widget dashboard. We also expect the smartwatch to pack the usual fitness tracking parameters like heart rate monitor, blood oxygen monitor, activity tracker, etc.

There is no word yet on the likely price tag of the smartwatch but we hope to find out more details when the Watch D is launched.

The global smartwatch market grew by 13 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022 i.e the period from January to March. It recorded double-digit growth for the fifth consecutive quarter. The report comes from Counterpoint Research’s Global Smartwatch Model Tracker. As per the global industry analysis firm, the market grew despite the economic slowdown and inflation.

Cupertino tech giant Apple maintained its lead in the smartwatch market with a third of the total shipments last year. It recorded a 36 percent market share in the first quarter of this year. The success of the Apple Watch is attributed to the brand loyalty of iPhone users. Counterpoint adds that Apple’s market share could rise further by the end of this year.

While Apple led the smartwatch market, Samsung solidified its second position. The South Korean brand clocked a 46 percent YoY increase in shipments and grew significantly in the APAC region, thanks to the Galaxy Watch 4. Huawei came third in the list but shipments remained flat year on year. Xiaomi bagged the fourth spot for the first time with a 69 percent year-on-year growth. It is said to be breaking shipment records every quarter and a large proportion of sales come from the low-end segment under $100.

Garmin ranked fifth in the list in terms of shipments but came third in terms of revenue due to higher ASP. It also occupied the majority portion in the premium segment. Amazfit bagged sixth place due to the GTR 3 and GTS 3 that were launched in Q4, 2021. After Fitbit merged with Google, its sales decreased during the same period last year.

Both the Sony WF-1000XM4 and Walkman NW-A105 Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary limited edition devices come in Black colour. The circular surface on the TWS earbuds features design elements from the Kingdom Hearts game as well as a 20th-anniversary logo. The storage case of the WF-1000XM4 also has chessboard-like visuals. The TWS earbuds packs flagship features including noise cancellation technology, LDAC codec, DSEE Extreme, bone conduction sensor, precise voice pickup, and speak to chat feature.

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Book Pro 14 2022 and Redmi Book Pro 15 2022 laptops in China with 2 processor brand options: Intel and AMD. Earlier in March, the Redmi Book Pro 14 and 15 powered by Intel’s latest 12th Gen Alder Lake processors went available for sale in the country, starting from only 5299 RMB (796 USD).

And now as we near the start of June, the Redmi Book Pro 14 and 15 variants powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 6000 series offerings are finally on sale in China. And the great news here is that the base Ryzen variant starts at an even lower launch price than the Intel variants at 4499 RMB (676 USD)!

The following are the CPU+GPU variants for each model of the Redmi Book Pro 14 and 15 2022 Ryzen Edition and their respective launch prices.

All CPU+GPU configurations of the Redmi Book Pro 14 and 15 Ryzen 6000 series Edition laptops come equipped with 16GB LPDDR5 (6400MHz) RAM and 512GB of PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD storage.

Coming to the exterior build, the Redmi Book Pro 2022 series comes with a 14-inch display, 2.5K resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. The 15-inch variant features a 3.5K resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Both laptops sport a series-6 aviation aluminium metal body.

The laptops also feature a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Port and connectivity options on the Redmi Book Pro 2022 include WiFi 6, Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.0 and an SD card slot.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra was the most shipped premium smartphone in India in March 2022

The Galaxy S22 Ultra is currently the most advanced and expensive slab smartphone from Samsung. According to a new report, it was the most preferred premium smartphone in India in the month of March 2022.

A Hindustan Times report says that Samsung accounted for a whopping 81% of the Indian smartphone market in the above ₹1,00,000 price category in March 2022. The news outlet cites data from Counterpoint Research.

Most interestingly, 74% of the shipments came from the Galaxy S22 Ultra alone. In other words, the Galaxy S22 Ultra was the most shipped premium smartphone in India in the third month of 2022.

Additionally, Samsung also had a 38% market share in the above ₹30,000 price segment during the same period. In the whole of Q1 2022, this figure stood at 63% compared to 55% in Q1 2021.

This clearly suggests that the South Korean electronics giant did pretty well in the competitive Indian smartphone market. But the question is has the company managed to continue the momentum after March?

Unfortunately, we don’t have an answer for it right now. Going by the shipment data of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, it sure looks like a pent-up demand for the Galaxy Note, an iconic stylus-equipped premium smartphone lineup, which the Galaxy S22 Ultra has replaced after two years of hiatus.

Xiaomi Black Shark 5 & 5 Pro Europe variant’s memory, color options revealed

A few days ago, Xiaomi‘s gaming-focused sub-brand Black Shark announced that the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro will debut in Malaysia on June 8th. This will be the first time the devices are made available outside China.

Now, it appears that the company also has plans to launch the smartphones in the European market as a new report from Appuals has revealed the storage, color options, and renders of the upcoming Europe models.

According to the report, the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro will both be available in two configurations – 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. The vanilla variant will be available in Black and Grey colors while the Pro model will debut with Black and White color options.

The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro both come with a 6.67-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) E4 AMOLED display with variable refresh rates of up to 144Hz. They offer a peak brightness of 1300nits, DC dimming, HDR10+, and 100% P3 color gamut. Other than that, the display has a 720Hz touch sampling rate for lightning-fast touch responsiveness while gaming.

Under the hood, the vanilla variant comes powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset while the Pro model hosts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Both the models will come with LPDDR 5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, however, the Pro model will likely offer Xiaomi’s Disc Array 2.0 (UFS + SSD combination) to boost the read and write speeds up to 55% and 69% respectively.

Other features include a 4650mAh battery on both devices paired with 120W fast charging, Android 12-based Joy UI 13, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and pop-up magnetic triggers for gaming.

Red Magic 7S and Red Magic 7S Pro spotted on 3C certification with 165W fast charging

Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro have been spotted on the 3C certification site. Both devices are listed with model numbers NX679S and NX709S respectively. The listings hints at an imminent arrival of the smartphones. The Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro are expected to arrive as upgraded versions of the Red Magic 7 and 7 Pro that debuted earlier this year.

As per the 3C listing, the Red Magic 7S will come with support for 165W fast charging. The Pro variant was also spotted on 3C with the same charging speed before its announcement, however, it debuted with a 135W charger. Hence, it remains to be seen whether the upcoming Red Magic 7S will indeed feature a 165W charger.

Alongside the Red Magic 7S, the Nubia device with model number NX709S is speculated to be the Red Magic 7S Pro. It also carried support for 165W charging.

Apart from the charging speeds, the 3C listings don’t reveal any additional information about the Red Magic 7S and Red Magic 7S Pro. The Red Magic 7 and 7 Pro debuted with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The latter was also the first gaming-focused phone to come with an under-display selfie camera. The upcoming Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro are expected to be powered by the recently launched Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

We expect to learn more details about the Red Magic 7S and 7S Pro in the coming days.
