Recently, a Samsung phone with model number SM-A127F / SM-A127M was spotted at the Bluetooth SIG certification site and Samsung Philippines support site. A recent leak claimed that it will debut as a new chipset variant of the Galaxy A12. The existing A12 is powered by the Helio P35 chip, but its new variant is expected to feature the Exynos 850 SoC by Samsung. Fresh findings from Google Play Console and Google’s Supported Devices list suggest that the device may debut as the Galaxy A12s.

In the Google Supported Devices list, the SM-A127F/M handset is mentioned with the Galaxy A12 marketing name, and they are listed as “a12s” in the device column. Since the South Korean company is already selling a phone with the Galaxy A12 name, it is likely that the upcoming device could be called the Galaxy A12s.
The Galaxy A12s Google Play Console listing reveals that it features an HD resolution supporting display and Exynos 850 chipset. The Soc is coupled with 3 GB of RAM, and it runs on Android 11 OS. The listing further mentions that it has a fingerprint scanner. Probably, it could be integrated with the power button of the device.

Yes, the phone is tipped to feature a 50MP primary lens and it will be a Samsung S5KJN1(ISOCELL JN1) sensor. In total, there will be three cameras at the rear – a 50MP main, an 8MP wide, and a 2MP macro lens.
#Redmi10 will feature a new Samsung S5KJN1 sensor (50Mpx), IMX355 (8Mpx, probably wide), and 2mpx macro. Not sure about front camera parameters.
If this is to be believed then the Redmi 10 will surely be a solid camera phone, at least on paper. Moreover, the phone is expected to come powered by a MediaTek chipset. Exactly which one is still a question.
Other than this, the smartphone was previously spotted on EEC(Euroasian Economic Commission) and a few Indonesian and Singapore-based certifications. These listings suggest a possible launch for these markets.

Design
The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G is the king of design. With its Reno Glow finish for its glass back, it appears a lot more gorgeous than the Xiaomi Mi 11X. Further, it has a curved display at the sides which makes it even more elegant. It is thin and lightweight: one of the most beautiful last-generation phones. With its flat display and more invasive cameras, the Xiaomi Mi 11X is less attractive, but it still comes with a glass back and the Gorilla Glass 6 protection by Corning.
Display
The display of the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G has a diagonal of 6.55 inches, the AMOLED technology, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification, as well as an in-display fingerprint reader. With the Xiaomi Mi 11X, you get a wider 6.67-inch diagonal and a higher 120 Hz refresh rate, but unfortunately, it lacks an in-display fingerprint reader and it is side-mounted in this case. On the paper, the Xiaomi Mi 11X looks superior, but we are yet to test these displays to give you a definitive verdict.
Specs & Software
With the Xiaomi Mi 11X, you actually get a superior chipset: the Snapdragon 870 by Qualcomm is stronger than the Dimensity 1200 by MediaTek. But the Dimensity 1200 is built with a better production process (6 nm) and, on the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G, it is paired with more RAM: up to 12 GB. You can even get more internal storage with the latest OPPO flagship killer: up to 256 GB. Do you prefer having a better chipset or a better memory configuration? In the first case, you can get higher performance with single apps, while in the second case, you can get higher performance in multi-tasking. OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G runs Android 11 customized by ColorOS 11.3, while Xiaomi Mi 11X has Android 11 customized by MIUI 12.
Camera
The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G is undoubtedly a superior camera phone to the Xiaomi Mi 11X. First of all, it has a better main sensor for the rear camera, with a higher 64 MP resolution and a brighter f/1.7 focal aperture. Further, it has a better front camera with a 32 MP resolution. So you can actually click better photos with the Reno6 Pro 5G, with both the rear setup and with the front camera. The Xiaomi Mi 11X is just an average camera phone, you can find a similar camera department on most of the lower-midrange phones out there. The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G offers something more than a simple mid-ranger.
OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Mi 11X have similar battery capacities: 4500 mAh and 4520 mAh, respectively. The battery life is similar in a lot of scenarios and you should not focus on it too much because the differences are marginal. But with the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G, you actually get a faster charging technology with a power of 65W.
Price
The starting price of the Xiaomi Mi 11X in the Indian market is Rs. 29,999 for the configuration with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage, while OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G costs Rs. 39,999 in the 8/128 GB configuration. At the end of the day, OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G is a superior phone and it wins this comparison. It has a better camera department, a better design, and even a faster charging technology. But with the Xiaomi Mi 11X, you can save a lot of money while still getting a good flagship killer.
Tesla is the global leader in electric vehicle manufacturing, with massive expansions in the operations of the company to cover new and uncharted territories. Battery issues provide a critical performance and safety challenge for Tesla’s electric vehicles (EV), as the pursuit of greater range for these batteries may also mean serious safety concerns have to be grappled with. Due to the internal makeup of these EV battery cells, several accidents have been reported that led to battery fires. Some of these incidents were fatal, leading to loss of life.
Tesla has continued to evolve its battery technology, and it unveiled its plan in 2020 to produce a new tabless battery cell, with a new operating mechanism and bigger capacity. The 4680 format highlighted by Tesla last year, the company claims, is capable of producing bigger, cheaper, safer, and more efficient cells. Samsung SDI and LG Energy Solutions are two Korean companies that have now taken bold steps to produce separate 4680 battery cell models, as they eye Tesla’s huge supply contract for the car component.
Tesla is already scaling up its production processes and doing the necessary modifications within its battery factories that may come on board in Germany, China, and the United States. But plans are already in progress as well Tesla to incorporate the 4680 design and technology in partnership with battery manufacturers for the production of improved batteries for its cars. In fact, four of the leading battery manufacturers, including LG Energy Solutions and Samsung SDI, had individually announced plans to build their own versions of the Tesla 4680 battery cell.
Reports monitored from Korea now indicate that both LG and Samsung may have completed the production of samples of the 4680 cell, as the race for the Tesla supply contract gathers steam. The report also shows that both companies are currently carrying out tests on the sample 4680 cells produced, with sights set at 2023 for a possible release of the battery to the market – of course, based on either of the companies nicking the contract.
Tesla will pick from the pool of manufacturers for the supply of the battery, which could debut with the Model Y, according to some sources.
Google’s upcoming Pixel 6 series and Pixel 5a 5G have been getting all of the attention but these are not the only new hardware products Google is planning to launch this year. One other device that has gotten less attention is the foldable Pixel phone, and if you have forgotten, here is a reminder that it is still coming this year.
Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) confirmed again a few days ago that the foldable Pixel phone is still coming this year. Most of the details of the phone, which is expected to arrive in October, have remained a secret, unlike the Pixel 6 series whose specs and design have become public knowledge.
The Pixel Fold (unofficial name) is not the only interesting device Google has in development. Last month, the same source mentioned that there will also be a Pixel Roll, and if the name didn’t make it obvious, it will have a rollable display. However, it won’t arrive until next year.
Pixel Roll has such a nice ring to it. It is in our forecast, but not expected in next 12 months…
While we have seen prototypes of rollable phones, there is yet to be a commercially available version. The LG Rollable was supposed to launch one this year but that will no longer be happening since it has shut down its smartphone business. Samsung is also expected to announce a rollable smartphone next year.
Apple is expanding the functionality of its Magsafe technology with the introduction of the MagSafe Battery Pack that can charge the iPhone 12 series immediately after the accessory is attached to the back of the smartphone. Apple says the Magsafe Battery Pack offers substantial improvements in the iPhone 12 smartphone battery life, although the Cupertino-based company was silent on the specific enhancements gotten.
The iPhone 12 series was launched in India a few months back, and Apple says the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the iPhone 12 mini all support the Magsafe Battery Pack. The device will immediately commence charging the smartphone when attached to the back, and charging progress can be monitored on the lock screen for devices running on iOS 14.7 or later.
The Magsafe Battery Pack works like a wireless charger and can charge devices that support Qi wireless charging. The Magsafe Battery Pack does not come with a USB cable and can be charged with a 20W charger or higher. The Magsafe Pack does not offer fast charging, as it gives a 5W charge when it is used as a standalone charger for the smartphone. However, its charging power can get up to 15W when used as a passthrough charger, simultaneously charging both the Magsafe Pack and the iPhone 12 series smartphone.
The Magsafe Battery Pack for iPhone 12 series will sell for $99 and will be available from Apple Online Store from July 19. Interested Apple buffs could place their orders from today.
The Galaxy Watch 4 series is not expected to arrive until next month when Samsung will hold its Galaxy Unpacked event. Several details of the smartwatches have already leaked and we are sure Samsung isn’t happy about that. Now, Amazon Canada has jumped the gun by revealing the price of the new wearables.
Although the retail store has now removed the prices, they have already become public knowledge. According to the listings, the Galaxy Watch 4 series will be available in four sizes – 40mm, 42mm, 44mm, and 46mm. The 40mm Galaxy Watch 4 will have a 1.19-inch screen and be priced at CAD 309.85 (~USD 249) while the 44mm version, also with a 1.36-inch screen, will sell for CAD 346.82 (~USD 277).
The listing also reveals some of the features of the Galaxy Watch 4 such as body composition analysis, Advanced Sleep, V02 Max, and blood oxygen monitoring. It also mentions NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The 40mm version will have a 247mAh battery capacity.
The 46mm Galaxy Watch 4 Classic has a 1.36-inch screen, a 361mAh battery, and it is priced at CAD 463.88 (~USD 371). There will also be a 42mm version of the Galaxy Watch Classic and it will be sold for CAD 427.73 (~$342). Both classic models have a rotating bezel.
Another important detail we spotted is that the listings say they are Google Wear OS smartwatches which means it is safe to say that the revamped wearable operating system will continue to be called Wear OS. Surprisingly, there is no mention of Samsung’s One UI Watch.
The listings also reveal that the watches will be available on August 27.

Honor will enter the foldable smartphone market this year with the launch of the Magic Fold. The flagship will have an infolding design much like the Galaxy Z Fold series, and ahead of its release, details of its screens have surfaced.
The Honor Magic Fold like all foldable smartphones with an inward folding design will have two screens – an outer one and an inner one that unfolds. According to Digital Chat Station, the inner display of the device is ~8” in size while the outer display is ~6.5-inches.
He also added that both displays are supplied by BOE and that Honor is testing an ultra-thin flexible glass cover for the inner screen. Both screens are larger than those of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The Samsung foldable will have a 6.23-inch cover display and a 7.55-inch inner screen.
There is still a lot of unknown info about the upcoming device. However, it is expected to have a Snapdragon 888 Plus processor powering it.
