Now that Huawei‘s dominance in the global market has diminished significantly, Honor is eyeing to take its place internationally. Ever since it broke up with Huawei, Honor has been trying to make it big outside China.
Today, Honor confirmed its Global conference is scheduled for August 12. Considering the aggressive leaks of the Honor Magic 3, we can expect the phone to debut at the August event in the global market.
Now that a global press conference is scheduled, a major question that arrives is will the upcoming Honor phones come with Google Play Store and play services pre-installed? Well, Honor recently confirmed that the Honor 50 and the upcoming Honor Magic phones (Honor Magic 3) will come with Google Play store out of the box.
The Honor Magic 3 is confirmed to feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset. The Snapdragon 888+ is a more advanced version of the current 888 model with improvements in performance.
Some previous rumors also revealed that there will be two Honor Magic phones, the Magic 3 and a foldable Magic model. Currently, the details of the Honor Magic Fold are unavailable but considering the launch is official, we could also see the leaks about the phone soon.
Last month, Honor — the smartphone brand that became independent from Huawei earlier this year — launched its flagship Honor 50 series smartphones. It announced three devices under the lineup — Honor 50, 50 Pro, and 50 SE.
The smartphones went on sale in China a couple of weeks ago and the company and during the first sale of the series, the company claimed that it managed to sell units worth more than 500 million yuan (approx. $77 million) within a minute.
Now, the company has confirmed on Weibo that the 12GB RAM model of the Honor 50 will be available for purchase in China from 16th July. It will be priced at 3,399 yuan which roughly converts to $525. For reference, 8GB +128GB model costs 2,699 yuan (~$417) while the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at 2,999 yuan (~$463).
Coming to the specifications, the Honor 50 features a 6.57-inch OLED curved screen that supports a 120Hz screen refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G mobile platform, which uses 6nm process technology and a Kryo 670 architecture.
The CPU is made up of a single 2.4GHz super core, three 2.2GHz large cores, and four 1.9GHz small cores. For graphics, the 5G-enabled processor integrates the Adreno 642L GPU. It also comes with Honor’s GPU Turbo X and Link Turbo technologies.
In the camera department, the phone features a 100-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, there’s a 32-megapixel snapper for taking selfies.
The smartphone is running the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own Magic UI 4.2 custom interface. The device is powered by a 4,300mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging technology.
Samsung has several smartphones in the pipeline that are planned to go official later this year and one of them is the budget offering under the M-series, dubbed Galaxy M22. The phone has already been certified by Thailand’s NBTC with model number SM-M225FV.
Now, ahead of the official launch of the smartphone, renders showcasing its design as well as details about the specifications have been leaked online. Continuing the similarity with the A-series counterpart, the upcoming Galaxy M22 is quite similar to Galaxy A22 as far as the phone’s design is concerned.
The device features a waterdrop notch on top of the screen which the company likes to call Infinity-V display. On the backside, there’s a square-shaped camera module that houses four camera sensors and an LED flash.
As for the specifications, the phone is said to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate support. Underneath, it will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset, coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
It remains to be seen if the South Korean giant offers other memory variants for this smartphone. There’s also a microSD card slot on the device, allowing users to expand the storage capacity up to 1TB.
In the camera department, the phone is likely to have a 48-megapixel primary sensor, coupled with an 8-megapixel secondary ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, there will be a 13-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
The smartphone is likely to run the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own One UI custom interface on top. It will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery and have 25W fast charging support.
The Samsung Galaxy M22 will come in three color options — Black, Blue, and White. The phone will reportedly be priced at EUR 239.90 for the 4GB+128GB variant. To know for sure, we will have to wait for the official launch.
Samsung took off covers from the Galaxy A22 4G at the beginning of this month. The handset was introduced with a price tag of Rs 18,499 (~$247). Soon after its announcement, the rumor mill started speculating that the A22 5G will be also arriving in India soon. A fresh report by 91mobiles that cites information receive from tipster Yogesh reveals that the Galaxy A22 5G will possibly debut in India in August.
Samsung Galaxy A22 5G specifications
The Galaxy A22 5G has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD panel that delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 60Hz refresh rate. The device is preinstalled with One UI 3.1 flavored Android 11 OS.
Samsung Galaxy A22 5G
It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls. The rear camera setup of the device has a 48-megapixel primary, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth assist lens. The device is backed by a 5,000mAH battery that supports 15W fast charging.
The Dimensity 700 5G chip is present under the hood of the Galaxy A22 5G. In Europe, it is available with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. For security, it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Samsung Galaxy A22 5G pricing
With pricing of 229 euros (~$269; Rs 20,100), the Galaxy A22 5G is Samsung’s most affordable 5G smartphone. This pricing belongs to the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage edition of the handset. Since the Galaxy A22 4G is priced at Rs 18,499 (~$247), it is likely that the A22 5G may cost around Rs 20,000 (~$268) in India.
Samsung is reportedly working on the Galaxy M32 5G smartphone. The reason behind it is that a new Samsung phone with SM-M326B model number has appeared in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking site (via). It is likely that the company may unleash it as early as next month.
The model number of the Galaxy M32 4G handset that debuted earlier this year is SM-M325F. Hence, it is likely that the SM-M326B phone that has appeared on Geekbench today is likely to launch as the Galaxy M32 5G.
The Geekbench listing shows that the Galaxy M32 5G is powered by the Dimensity 720. The SoC is mentioned with its MT6853V/NZA model number in the listing. The listing further states that the device boots to Android 11 OS, and it has 6 GB of RAM. The handset recorded 497 and 1605 in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, respectively.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A32 5G with Dimensity 720 chip back in December. It is likely that the Galaxy M32 5G could be a rebadged version of the A32 5G. it is advisable to wait for further reports to come to this conclusion since the rumor mill is yet to leak its other specs.

Tag Heuer has a launch set for July 15 and the manufacturer already teased that it plans to unveil a Super Mario-themed watch. While it is still a day to the announcement, details of the watch have already surfaced online.
The new watch is actually a Mario-themed Wear OS-powered smartwatch, or better put, a Super Mario edition of the Tag Heuer Connected smartwatch. As reported by Engadget, the smartwatch will sell for $2150 and will be limited to only 2000 units.
With respect to the design, The Tag Heuer Connected Super Mario Limited Edition will have two straps – a black and red strap that is a mix of leather and rubber and a red rubber strap with holes. The tachymeter has the head of a Super Mario toad at 3 o’clock, a pipe at 6 o’clock, and a Super Star icon at 9 o’clock. There is also a Mario “M” logo on the crown.
1 of 2
On the software side, there are multiple Super Mario watch faces as well as Mario-centric animations. For example, Mario will salute you in the morning and climb the flag pole when you reach your steps target. Tag Heuer says that some of these software additions may be available for the other versions of the Connected smartwatch in the future.
The watch launches on July 15 and will be available for purchase on the same day at select boutiques and on its website.
Realme GT Neo Flash just went on sale: just in case you missed it, it is a variant of the GT Neo with a faster charging technology. It is a flagship, but not the most expensive one. That is why we think it is a perfect rival for the OPPO Reno6 Pro. Even the Reno6 Pro is not the most advanced phone in its lineup, but it has a great quality-price ratio. Which of these devices has the highest value for money? If you want to discover it, go ahead with this comparison between their specifications.

Design
The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G has a sleeker and more beautiful design. It has a thinner body with a thickness of just 7.6 mm and it is even lighter as it weighs just 177 grams. Further, the handset has a curved edge-to-edge display making it very elegant, as well as a minimalistic glass back. However, Realme GT Neo Flash is all but an ugly phone. It comes with a very suggestive leather back in the original Racing Yellow color option. Further, it has a pretty compact body even though it packs a good battery.
Display
If you need the most stunning image quality, then you should opt for the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G which offers an AMOLED display including a 90 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and high brightness. Instead, if you are a gamer, Realme GT Neo Flash might be better for you as it comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is still an AMOLED panel, but the image quality guaranteed by the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G is actually higher. Further, it has a slightly wider diagonal of 6.55 inches, while Realme GT Neo Flash has 6.43 inches. The phones are equipped with in-display fingerprint readers. Note that Realme GT Neo Flash has stereo speakers, while its rival does not.
Specs & Software
The most important thing in common between the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G and Realme GT Neo Flash is the processor. We are talking about the octa-core Dimensity 1200 which is currently the most advanced chipset by MediaTek. It is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. When it comes to the hardware department, it is a draw because these phones have the same components. The difference is in the software: the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G runs ColorOS 11.3 which is slightly more advanced than Realme UI 3.0, in my honest opinion.
Camera
The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G is superior if we talk about camera performance. It has a brighter focal aperture for its 64 MP main camera and it also offers an additional 2 MP depth sensor. Last but not least, it has a much better front camera with a 32 MP resolution. However, we are not talking about huge differences: the Realme GT Neo Flash still comes with a pretty nice camera department, but it is just a midrange camera phone.
OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G and Realme GT Neo have the same battery capacity: 4500 mAh. They even come with the same fast charging technology with a power of 65W. So you should not notice important differences in terms of battery life and the charging speed is exactly the same.
Price
The starting price of the OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G roughly translates into €450/$530, while Realme GT Neo Flash starts from €290/$342. Unfortunately, at least for now, these handsets are only available in the Asian market. The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G will launch in Europe too, but we do not know anything about the Realme GT Neo Flash. The OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G wins the comparison because of its better design (thinner, lighter, and with a curved screen), superior cameras (brighter focal aperture for the main camera and a better front camera), great display (awesome image quality with the HDR10+ certification). But the Realme GT Neo Flash has a higher value for money and it is more interesting for gamers due to its higher refresh rate and stereo speakers.
OPPO Reno6 Pro 5G vs Realme GT Neo Flash: PRO and CONS
Huami’s Future of Tech event wasn’t only about its new operating system and chipset alone. The company which is best known for its Amazfit brand of smartwatches also took the chance to show that it is expanding its portfolio into other areas of health tech with the unveiling of its upcoming MRI Scanner which it says will be the world’s first portable scanner.
An MRI Scanner is a big diagnosis machine that takes up significant space in hospitals and usually has its own special room. They also can’t be moved around, though that may soon change as Huami says that its MRI scanner will be the world’s first portable one.
According to the manufacturer, the scanner has a height of 1.5 meters, occupies an area of less than 2m², and weighs less than 800 kilograms. The lightest MRI scanner weighs about 6.8 tons while heavier models weigh as much as 37 tons. They also take up as much as 35m² of space and are as high as 2.5 meters.
Huami says its MRI scanner doesn’t need a specially shielded room which reduces the cost of installation and has an average power consumption of 1kW compared to current scanners that consume between 50kW to 120kW. The MRI scanner also boasts high-quality imaging, and when compared to traditional MRIs, there is a difference of about 300 in the signal-to-noise ratio.
We do not know when the MRI Scanner will be available and how much it will cost but we expect it to be cheaper than a lot of the traditional models.
Back in April, Huami announced the Amazfit GTR 2 eSIM, a variant of the Amzafit GTR 2 with an embedded SIM that allows users to make and receive calls from their watch. Now, the smartwatch is set to get a global launch but as the Amazfit GTR 2 LTE.
The official Amazfit Global Twitter account shared a product video of the smartwatch ahead of its launch. The video highlights some of the key features of the watch such as 4G connectivity, support for 90 sports modes, and onboard storage.
Huami has not yet revealed when the smartwatch will be announced but we believe it should be around the corner.
The addition of an LTE eSIM won’t be the only difference between the Amazfit GTR 2 LTE and the standard version. The version sold in China comes with a smaller 338mAh battery capacity as against the 471mAh battery inside the standard version. We guess Huami had to shrink the battery size to make space for the eSIM. Save for these two differences, the rest of the specs are the same.
So you get a 1.39-inch AMOLED screen, NFC, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, sleep tracking, and blood oxygen level detection. The Amazfit GTR 2 LTE should also have support for Amazon Alexa when it launches.
There had been a raft of leaks and speculations surrounding the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, Samsung’s upcoming flagship offerings with an innovative foldable display. Samsung has also swelled the hype by providing some teasers relating to the two smartphones whose release date is still unknown.
A few of the teasers, leaks, and renders indicated that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will have a traditional S Pen stylus attached to it. However, there have also been some suggestions that it will also support the more extensive and more versatile S Pen Pro. A product filing by Samsung for the S Pen Pro at the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has now shown that the Galaxy Z Fold will have the S Pen Pro.
The FCC document was just made public and could indicate an imminent launch of the S Pen Pro stylus, which will have Bluetooth connectivity and charges via USB-C. The specific release date of the S Pen Pro is not specified, although it is projected to debut in some of Samsung’s devices slated for unveiling this year. According to the FCC filing, the S Pen Pro will also support the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the Note 20 lineup, Note 10 Lite, Tab S7 series, and other devices that support One UI 3.1 or later.
In line with its tradition for some time, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is slated for August, and some big announcements involving some of Samsung’s flagship and other products lineup could be made. A tipster has already predicted August 11 as the date for the Galaxy Unpacked event, which would herald the release of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and other devices, including the Z Flip 3, Galaxy Watches, and Galaxy buds.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 offers some innovative technologies that Samsung hopes will place the device on the higher echelon among its peers when it is eventually unveiled.

Hypertension is a silent killer which affects a large number of the individuals cutting across different social strata and race. Wang Kongqiao, Vice President of Algorithm Technology at Huamiduring the conference shared a set of data that shows that as many as 245 million adults are living with hypertension in China.
The new PumpBeats blood pressure monitoring engine is said to have taken Huami 5 years to develop. The engine is capable of measuring the BP in just 30 seconds. PumpBeats can also provide 24-hour continuous blood pressure monitoring as well as data collection, fusion, and AI model establishment around high-precision optical sensors.
Apple has been able to integrate a BP monitoring feature on its smartwatch but that only functions with a medically validated, connected blood pressure monitor. With this new PumpBeats engine, Huami claims users can monitor their blood pressure anytime, anywhere directly from a smartwatch.
Huami says the accuracy of the PumpBeats blood pressure monitoring engine has been verified by Peking University First Hospital in Beijing, China. Clinical experiments show that the average absolute deviation of the engine’s systolic blood pressure is lower than 5.14mmHG, and the diastolic blood pressure is lower than 4.88mmHG, the engine is reliable and the blood pressure measurement takes only 30s.
Apart from one-off BP checks, the engine can also provide 24-hour continuous blood pressure monitoring and explore new ways to screen for occult hypertension.
Huami is expected to release a smartwatch donning the PumpBeats engine in Q4 this year.
Last year, Huami marked its entry into the earbuds space with the launch of the Amazfit ZenBuds and Amazfit PowerBuds. Today, it has announced its third model called the Amazfit PowerBuds Pro, and it packs a handful of health features as well as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

The Amazfit PowerBuds Pro completely ditches the design of its predecessor. Huami has adopted the stem design made popular by the AirPods and has also redesigned the case too. Both the earbuds and case have a two-tone matte finish – gray on the inside and white on the outside.
Each earbud weighs 6.7 grams and has IP55 dust and water-resistance rating making them suitable for sweaty workouts and the occasional times you are caught up in the rain. Users get four pairs of silicone earplugs of different sizes.
Amazfit PowerBuds Pro Health Features
The PowerBuds Pro is not just any ordinary pair of earbuds. Huami says it can track your speed, time, distance, calories burned, heart rate, pace, and step count when applicable while walking, running, and cycling. Just like some smartwatches, the earbuds will automatically begin tracking these metrics once it detects you have begun running.
Users will also receive real-time voice notifications about their distance, heart rate, and more with every kilometer or mile when running, walking, or cycling. You will also be able to get the info on demand by tapping the right earbud. Yes, the right earbud is the one with the PPG optical heart rate sensor.
Another cool feature of the PowerBuds Pro is its ability to detect and show in the app the sitting angle of your cervical spine. If your position hasn’t changed in a long while, you will get a rhythm to which you can move your neck to relax.
There is also a volume analysis feature that will advise you on a safe listening volume and a recommended listening time. Last is a Motion Beat Mode that automatically makes what you are listening to stronger and clearer when you are working out.
Amazfit PowerBuds Pro Audio Features
For the audio features, the addition of Active Noise Cancellation is one of the major upgrades. Huami claims noise can be reduced by up to 40dB with a combination of hybrid digital adaptive noise-reduction and passive sound insulation.
The PowerBuds Pro has four noise cancellation modes – indoor, travel, sports/workout, and an adaptive mode that automatically adjusts depending on your environment. There is also Thru Mode, Huami’s take on Transparency Mode, that allows you to hear the world around you. This comes in handy when having conversations or listening for announcements.
The earbuds have a total of six microphones (three on each) made up of two dual-beamforming digital mics and a call-pickup digital mic. An AI call noise-reduction algorithm helps reduce wind noise by up to 40dB and environmental noise by up to 35db.
The PowerBuds Pro has smart in-ear detection (automatic pause and play when you remove and put the earbuds). It supports touch controls and also works with the voice assistant on your phone. Connection is fast (simply opening the case will get them to pair with your phone) but the first setup needs you to connect via the Zepp app. Huami says that an OTA update will bring support for Google Fast Pair.
The earbuds have a battery life of up to 30 hours with the case. The earbuds will last up to 9 hours with ANC off but that drops to 5 hours 45 minutes when you turn on ANC. That number drops further to 3 hours 30 minutes for calls and with ANC turned on. The battery capacity in each earbud is 68mAh while that of the case is 510mAh. The case charges via USB-C and charging time takes 2.5 hours.

In what can be described as typical of OnePlus, the manufacturer has been releasing bits of information about its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 2. The latest info is about the phone’s software support.
Take a deep breath and chill, worrywarts. OnePlus Nord 2 comes pre-installed with OxygenOS 11 backed up by 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security updates.
