Samsung is apparently working on a new multi device wireless charger. This new device is similar to the now discontinued AirPower from Apple, as per a new leak on Twitter.

According to tipster @chunvn8888‘s tweet, the new multi device charger from the South Korean tech giant will be slightly thinner than its previously launched Wireless Trio. The leak claims that the company managed to make the wireless charger slimmer thanks to the size of the copper coils, which are said to be very small. Furthermore, these copper coils will also arrive with multiple layers of copper heat sync, graphite, and thermal paste sandwich as well for heat dissipation.

Reportedly, the cooling mechanism will be further boosted by 5 to 6 small fans in the wireless charger. This multi device charger will be able to output a maximum charge of 25W. Recently, Xiaomi had launched the new Mi Multi-coil Fast Wireless Charging Pad in China, which is capable of charging three devices at 20W each at the same time.

So, the upcoming 25W wireless charger from Samsung could also be a great offering in the market. Keep in mind, this is still an unconfirmed report, so take this news with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more, as we will be providing updates when additional information or any notable developments surface regarding this device.

Apple is currently the leader of the global smartwatch market. Its Watch series has been a success across the globe, thanks to the company’s aggressive marketing. Now, a new report has revealed that the brand’s latest Apple Watch Series 6 just costs 136 US Dollars to make.

According to a Counterpoint Research report, the BoM analysis (bill of materials) for the Watch Series 6 has revealed that the device costs about 136 US Dollars to build. The cost for the application processor, display, sensors, and casing together alone accounts for roughly 68 percent of the wearable’s total value. The Watch Series 6 features an Always On Retina LTPO OLED display that offers 1000 nits of peak brightness. But since the company excluded the Force Touch feature in the model, the overall BoM was reduced.

This even made the smartwatch from the Cupertino based giant slimmer by 0.3mm as well compared to its predecessor. This has the display along with the touch module strengthened by ION-X glass account for about 13.2 percent of the device’s total value. Arriving at the SIP (System In Package), the latest Apple Watch ships with dual cores that are based on the A13 chipsets’ “little” power efficient cores, which the iPhone maker claims is 20 percent faster than the previous generation’s SIP.

The smartwatch’s SIP module, along with the 1GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB internal storage makes up roughly 23.7 percent of the overall cost of the device. For those unaware, the Watch Series 6 starts from 399 US Dollars in the US. Apple products are known to have a sizeable profit margin, so it arrives as no surprise that the actual cost is less than half its retail price tag.

Just recently, Krafton Inc, the company behind the massively popular battle royale title PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), announced that it would relaunching its mobile port of the game under a new name, Battlegrounds Mobile India. The game has yet to launch in the region, but its pre-registrations have already crossed 20 million within just two weeks.

Just last month, Battlegrounds Mobile India opened up for pre-registerations back on 18th May 2021. On the very first day, the game saw over 7.6 million registrations, as per the company’s official notes. Krafton had announced the title last month and is aiming to offer a “AAA multiplayer gaming experience on mobile” within the battle royale genre, which is what the company is known for.

Now, the studio’s CEO added that “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Indian fans for their overwhelming response to the Battlegrounds IP first developed by me and my team in 2017. The Battlegrounds IP received love and acclaim from players worldwide, and Krafton will continue to build on the IP. That effort includes bringing amazing content to Battlegrounds Mobile India and providing an incomparable battle royale experience to our players.”

For those unaware, PUBG Mobile had been banned by the Indian government along with other Chinese apps due to the growing friction between the Indian and Chinese governments. PUBG Mobile had been a mobile port made by Tencent Games, a Chinese firm. But now, the parent company of the IP, Krafton, is bringing the game back to the region by launching it under its own banner while also promising data security and user privacy as an important factor for the relaunch.

Motorola is reportedly working on a new smartphone called the Moto G Stylus 5G. This one is supposed to arrive as a 5G variant of the Moto G Stylus (2021) that debuted at the start of this year. The arrival of the 5G model seems to be close at hand as it has received approval from the Bluetooth SIG authority (via). At the same time, it has also appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking site (via).

The Bluetooth SIG listing reveals that the Moto G Stylus 5G belongs to a Motorola phone with XT2131 model number and its country variants such as XT2131-1, XT2131DL, and XT2131-3. The listing reveals that the handset supports Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.

The Geekbench listing of the Moto G Stylus 5G revealed that it is powered by a 5G-enabled Qualcomm chip that includes 6 CPU cores working at 1.80GHz and 2 CPU cores clocking at 2.04GHz. The source code of the listing reveals that the chipset has Adreno 619 GPU. These details suggest that the handset is powered by the Snapdragon 480 5G chipset.

The Geekbench listing further revealed that the phone is equipped with 6 GB of RAM, and it runs on Android 11 OS. It scored 502 in the single-core test of Geekbench and 1651 in the multi-core test. The rumored “Denver” codename is also mentioned in the Geekbench listing.

The other specs of the G Stylus 5G are under wraps. A recent leak claimed that it will come with 256 GB, and it could be heading to the U.S. markets. The leaked render of the phone that appeared recently revealed that it has a punch-hole display, 48-megapixel quad-cameras, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port, an external speaker, and a rear-facing fingerprint scanner.

Huawei registers two new variants of TVOS smart TV operating system

Huawei Technologies has just added two new software for copyright registration. The registration is for a two new operating system variants that are built for smart TVs and are a part of the TVOS platform.

According to an ITHome report, the Chinese tech giant has just filed for two copyright registration for a smart TV OS. Both of the software are related to an operating system, with one registered as TVOS-H (single platform version) while the other has been registered under TVOS-C (dual platform variant). These carry the registration number 2021SR0744159 and 2021SR0744160. Unfortuantely, this registration did not reveal any finer details regarding the operating system itself.

For those unaware, the TVOS is developed by the Science and Technology Department of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and the Electronic Information Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. This group includes the likes of Huawei, HiSilicon, and even Alibaba. At the moment, the latest version is the TVOS 4.0, which supports up to 8K reolution, offers voice control and other features as well. As of right now, it is unclear how these TVOS variants will tie in with the company’s proprietary HarmonyOS, so stay tuned for more updates.

iQOO India has been gradually revealing the key features of the upcoming iQOO Z3 5G smartphone daily. It has recently confirmed that the Z3 5G will arrive with support for a 120Hz refresh and it will be equipped with a 64-megapixel triple camera system.

Today, iQOO confirmed that the iQOO Z3 5G offers an impressive refresh rate of 120Hz. The company claims such a high refresh rate will prevent issues like laggy screens and motion blurs. The FHD+ display will offer 401ppi pixel density, HDR10 support, and a DCI-P3 color gamut.

The rear shell of the phone has a vertical camera unit, which comprises a 64-megapixel Samsung GW3 sensor that has an aperture rating of f/1.79. The camera support features like EFB autofocus tracking, super night mode, and 60fps 4K video recording. The main lens is speculated to be assisted by an 8-megapixel superwide lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

iQOO also revealed that the iQOO Z3 5G is equipped with a 5-layer liquid cooling system, which can effectively reduce the core temperature by 10°C. The company also confirmed in the recent past that it will be debuting as India’s first phone powered by the 5G-ready Snapdragon 768G chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and up to 3 GB of virtual RAM. The device will arrive with support for 55W charging, which can charge the phone to 70 percent capacity from scratch in just 19 minutes.

The iQOO Z3 5G will be announced at 8 PM (local time) on June 10 in India. iQOO India head Gagan Arora has already revealed that the smartphone will be priced under Rs 25,000 (~$343) and to sweeten the deal, the company will also offer some attractive bank offers. The handset will be available for purchase through Amazon India.

Honor announced the Honor X10 smartphone in May last year and followed it up with Honor X10 Max in July. According to popular tipster Digital Chat Station, the Honor will be launching the Honor X20 lineup after the Honor X50, which is all set to launch on June 16. The tipster also shared a real-life image of the X20.

The Honor X20’s live shot shows that it has an attractive gradient-colored back panel. The upper-left corner of the phone’s back has a triple camera system headlined by a 64-megapixel lens. The right edge of the device has a volume rocker.

The predecessor Honor X10 featured a notch-less display and a pop-up selfie camera. There is no word on the front design of the phone. Hence, it remains to be seen whether the successor model continues to feature a notch-less display and a pop-up camera like the predecessor model.

Rumors have it that the Honor X20 could be featuring a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen that supports a full HD+ resolution. It is likely to carry support for a high refresh rate. A recent leak claimed that it could be equipped with the Dimensity 1200 chipset.

The handset is likely to feature a 4,200mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. Its other details are yet to appear. Probably, the Honor X20 series which may comprise of handsets like Honor X20, X20 SE, and X20 Pro may debut in July.

The use of item tracking tags is increasingly attractive, and several other manufacturers are known to be working on such devices on their lineup. Samsung and Apple are the trailblazers in this area, but that could change pretty soon. A new patent filing by OnePlus for a device called OnePlusTag provides some hints that the smartphone manufacturer could be planning to join Samsung and Apple in launching a smart item tracking tag.

The OnePlusTag listing does not provide many details about the device. However, we know that a smart tag in the mold of Apple’s and Samsung’s offering would be the most probable device that has now been trademarked by OnePlus. There is no official statement by OnePlus at this time, as the company continues to prepare for the Nord CE 5G unveiling in a few days time.

Item tracking devices like Samsung’s SmartTag and Apple’s AirTag deploy innovative technologies to ensure that the tagged device can be located even when it is out of range with its paired Android or iOS smartphone. The devices can be found using the app (for example, the SmartThingsFinder) to draw from the resources of other compatible devices to provide global location capabilities for any tagged object. The deployment of Ultra-Wideband technology has become commonplace. This enables more accurate tracking of a tagged object.

Smartphone manufacturers are increasingly expanding their product offerings to cover diverse products. Recently Samsung introduced a Bespoke Shoe Dresser, which provides deodorization, desiccation, and sterilization solutions to a user’s shoe collection. We are bound to see an expanding and diverse ecosystem of products from OEMs from now on.

Vivo Y70t goes official in China; features Exynos 880 SoC, 8GB RAM, and triple-rear camera setup

Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has today officially launched its new mid-range smartphone in its home market. The device, dubbed as Vivo Y70t, is now available for purchase in China.

The phone features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display that offers a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. Underneath, the device is powered by the Samsung Exynos 880 chipset with Mali-G76 MP5 GPU.

Interestingly, Vivo is the only smartphone brand that has launched smartphones powered by the Samsung Exynos 880 SoC, which includes Vivo V51s, and V70s. The newly launched smartphone, Vivo V70t, packs up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

It also comes with a 90mm liquid-cooled heat pipe and a multi-layer PGS graphite heat sink of nearly 10,000 sq. mm., combined with thermal gel and AI Smart power-saving function, using which the CPU junction temperature drops by 10-degree celsius.

As for the camera department, the phone has a triple-camera setup on the back that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel secondary lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front side, there’s an 8-megapixel snapper for taking selfies.

The smartphone runs the Android 10 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own FunTouch OS 10.5 on top with support for Jovi voice assistant. It is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging technology.

The Vivo V70t comes in three color options — Black, White, and Blue. It comes in three memory configurations — 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB Storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, with a starting price of 1,699 yuan (approximately $266).

The global true wireless earphones market has maintained its growth trend in the first quarter of this year, with Apple in the lead. This news arrives despite the coronavirus pandemic caused the market to see a decline last year.

According to a Counterpoint Research report, the TWS hearables segment saw a sales growth of a sizeable 44 percent year on year in the first quarter of this year. In the market, China recorded the highest growth while the North American market still held the highest share. Apple also retained its dominating lead in the market but saw a decline in its market share due to the rise in competition in the market paired with the lack of any new models being launched by the company.

Similarly, Xiaomi arrived second in the market and also saw a slight decline as well, when compared to the previous quarter. On the other hand, Samsung managed to grow its presence in the market and even managed to narrow the gap with Xiaomi in the second spot. Notably, the 100 US Dollar segment in the TWS market saw a drop last year due to the pandemic. But now, the segment has been recovering as the economic impacts of last year subsides.

The Cupertino based giant dominated the over 100 US Dollars segment, with a notable market share of 57 percent. Although, the overall market share of the top 10 brands in the TWS market fell due to the intensifying competition, as more brands have launched their own offerings. Senior Analyst Liz Lee added that “Now is the time for companies to prepare for the change in consumer demand trends as vaccinations are expected to help consumer sentiment improve further in the second half of the year.”

Qualcomm and Jio partner up for local manufacturing of 5G equipment in India

Reliance Industries Limited has just announced that Jio Platforms will be working with Qualcomm to set up local manufacturing sites that will produce “critical equipment” for 5G networking in India.

For those unaware, both firms have previously teamed up to develop “open and interoperable” interface compliant architecture based 5G solutions back in 2020. This had the joint effort achieve over a 1Gbps milestone last year on the Jio 5GNR solution that used the US based chipmaking giant’s 5G RAN Platforms. Last year, the company had even invested 97 million US Dollars in Jio platforms as well. Although, Qualcomm has also partnered with a local rival of Jio, namely Bharti Airtel.

Reliance also added that “India is at the forefront of the global digital revolution. Jio is accelerating the rollout of digital platforms and indigenously developed next-generation 5G stack, making it affordable and available everywhere. With 5G technology, Indian subscribers will experience the benefits of higher data rates, low latency communications, and enhanced digital experiences across a wide array of connected devices, from 5G enabled smartphones, enterprise laptops, and AR/VR products to vertical IoT solutions.”

At the moment, Reliance Jio is working on readying 5G field trials through the trial spectrum it has received from the Department of Telecommunications. This will have the firm test its own 5G technology while also working with its 4G partner Samsung, Ericsson, and even Nokia. So, the local production of the 5G equipments in the region is a major step for the nation that is aiming to adopt the newer and faster bandwidth soon.

AnTuTu is one of the popular benchmarking platforms for Android devices. The company behind this software is known for publishing lists of best-performing Android flagships and mid-range smartphones every month. As we have entered June, the firm has released its lists for the month of May 2021.

The latest list of best-performing Android flagship smartphones is filled with devices powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 like the previous list (April 2021). The new list no longer includes the Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 (aka Lenovo Legion 2 Pro) and the Xiaomi Mi 11.

The above-mentioned phones are replaced by ASUS ROG Phone 5 and realme GT. The Black Shark 4 Pro continues to top the chart, however, the order of other handsets has been jumbled. In a nutshell, there’s no key takeaway.

On the other hand, the best-performing Android mid-range smartphone list has a new winner after 11 months. The Redmi 10X 5G series equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC finally loses its crown to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G.

For those unaware, the Redmi 10X 5G and the Redmi 10X Pro 5G have been leading the AnTuTu best-performing Android mid-range smartphones since their debut last June.

We can say that the performance of MediaTek Dimensity 820 was ahead of its time for a mid-range silicon. Unfortunately, this chip is only found in vivo S7t 5G, which is yet another China-exclusive smartphone like the Redmi 10X 5G series.

Lastly, unlike the flagship list, the mid-range list includes handsets featuring different chipsets like Qualcomm Snapdragon 768G, HiSilicon Kirin 985, HiSilicon Kirin 820, Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G, Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, and MediaTek Dimensity 800U.

Vivo Y73 2021 specs leaked online; tipped to launch in India this month

Vivo is gearing up to launch a new mid-range smartphone under its Y-series. As per the reports, the brand will be launching the Vivo Y73 (2021) in the Indian market later this month but the exact launch date is not yet known.

Ahead of the official announcement, the phone’s specifications have also been leaked online by MySmartPrice. It reveals that the device will come with a 6.44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, offering a 2400 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 408PPI pixel density, and HDR10.

It is also said to come with support for an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security. Underneath, the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset which is built using the 12nm process. It will come with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

As for the camera department, the report adds that there will be a triple-camera sensor on the back panel featuring a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, the device will pack a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

The device will come with support for Dual SIM, 4G, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. It will be powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging technology. The phone reportedly measures 161.24×74.37×7.38mm and weighs 170 grams.

As for the configuration, most of the phone’s specifications remain the same as the original model, except for some changes like removing support for 5G. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro 4G and the Huawei Mate X2 4G come powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 9000 SoC and pack up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

On the other hand, the Huawei Mate 40E 4G is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 990E chipset while the Huawei Nova 8 Pro 4G is powered by the Kirin 985 SoC. Both the phones are now up for pre-order in China.

Apart from these phones, Huawei has announced that more than 100 devices from the brand, including smartphones, tablets, and other smart devices, will be upgraded to HarmonyOS 2. The company claims that this will bring a brand new user experience to more than 200 million users.

Today, HMD Global officially confirmed that it will be announcing a new smartphone named the Nokia C20 Plus at 10 AM (local time) on June 11 in China. The company has also shared a render of the phone to showcase its rear design.

The poster of the Nokia C20 Plus shows that has a round-shaped camera housing and an LED flash unit on the textured back. It seems to be equipped with a dual-camera setup. The left edge of the device has a SIM slot, whereas its right edge could be featuring a volume rocker and a power button. Its top edge seems to be flanked with a 3.5mm audio jack. The rear design matches with a leaked schematic that had appeared last month.

The Nokia C20 Plus is believed to be the Nokia phone with TA-1388 model number, which was recently spotted at the 3C and TENAA certification sites of China. The 3C listing of the phone revealed that it is an LTE device that may tag along a 10W charger.

The Geekbench appearance of the C20 Plus revealed that it has 3 GB of RAM and Android 11 OS. The listing also revealed that it is powered by a Unisoc chipset that has four cores clocking at 1.20GHz and the other four cores running at 1.60GHz. Probably, the phone features the entry-level Unisoc SC9863A chip.

It was revealed in the last month that the Nokia C20 Plus will be featuring a 5,000mAh battery. The moniker of the device suggests that it will be arriving as an upgraded version of the Nokia C20, which was announced in April.

The Nokia C20 offers specs such as 6.52-inch IPS LCD HD+ panel, Android 11 Go Edition, 1 GB / 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB / 32 GB storage, Unisoc SC9863A, and a 3,000mAh battery that supports 10W charging. For photography, it has a 5-megapixel camera on the front and another 5-megapixel lens on the back.
