How is Oppo succeeding in the global smartphone market?

Oppo has firmly established itself as a major global player in the smartphone market. It ranked 4th worldwide in phone shipments for Q3 2024, according to Canalys.

Nearly 70% of Oppo’s shipments now come from outside China, with India and Latin America driving much of its international growth. As a result, China is now Oppo’s second-largest market. Whereas, Southeast Asia leads, with Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia taking the top spot and Indonesia close behind.

Moreover, Oppo is actively expanding into emerging markets like Latin America and Africa, underscoring its commitment to global growth. In Mexico, Oppo reached the fourth position in Q2 2024, according to Canalys, and 2024 also marked its entry into Brazil and Argentina.

Not just about volume…

But Oppo isn’t solely focused on volume. It’s also aiming to establish itself as a premium brand. The company holds a top-three position in the high-price segment (USD 500+) in 14 markets worldwide, including India and Southeast Asian countries.

Looking beyond smartphones, Oppo is actively expanding its internet services portfolio, fostering a more diversified business model and a richer user experience.

ColorOS, the company’s operating system, also has a massive 700 million monthly active users globally. According to Oppo, 260 million users are active on its app store, 210 million use the Oppo browser, and 110 million engage with the Oppo theme store.

Furthermore, Oppo is making AI features accessible to everyone. This year, the company is planning to introduce these features to 50 million users worldwide. This will make Oppo the first mobile phone manufacturer to deploy generative AI across its entire product line.

Oppo’s global footprint extends beyond sales. The company has established factories in seven countries, enabling local production and strengthening its supply chain. Additionally, they collaborate with partners, attracting around ten companies to build essential components like batteries and chargers in Indonesia.

A robust retail and service network provides another layer of strength for Oppo’s international business. With over 300,000 points of sale, dedicated sales personnel, after-sales outlets, and customer service representatives, Oppo offers a seamless experience for users worldwide.

Xiaomi 15 & 15 Pro more specs confirmed: 6100mAh battery, 5x Periscope zoom

Xiaomi is set to launch its 2024 flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, on October 29. While details about the phones have been limited, more information is now emerging from both official and unofficial sources. The company has already revealed the complete design of the devices through high-resolution renders, and now, a company official has shared key internal specifications.

Xiaomi 15 / 15 Pro official details

The Xiaomi 15 Pro will feature a 2K display and a massive 6,100mAh high-density silicon-carbon anode battery, boasting an energy density of 850Wh/L. The company also revealed that the Pro model weighs just 213g, which is lighter than the 223g Xiaomi 14 Pro. For context, the predecessor had a significantly smaller 4,880mAh battery.

According to the company official, this upgrade increases battery life by 38%, marking a major improvement. While the official did not disclose the battery capacity of the standard model, a 23% boost in battery life is promised for it.

In terms of zoom capabilities, Xiaomi has traditionally offered a 3.2x telephoto lens on both the standard and Pro models. However, this changes with the Xiaomi 15 Pro, which will feature a 10x lossless zoom, utilizing a 5x periscope telephoto camera. Additionally, the Pro model is equipped with a curved glass camera deco, adding to its overall aesthetic appeal.

While the base model does not include all of these high-end features, it still benefits from the robust performance of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, paired with a self-developed microarchitecture scheduler. According to Xiaomi, this results in a 19% increase in task execution efficiency and a 45.7% reduction in application startup response time, promising a smoother user experience.

With the use of customized M9 luminous display material, even the base model offers a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, up from the 3,000 nits seen on the Xiaomi 14.

Overall, Xiaomi has focused on refining both the external design and internal components to make its 2024 flagships a compelling choice for consumers.

Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature a brighter display, claims tipster

Samsung is preparing to launch its next flagship, the Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to debut in early 2025. According to recent leaks and rumors, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with several notable upgrades, particularly in its display, design, and performance. In the latest news, tipster ICE Universe claims that the phone will offer a higher peak brightness, more accurate colors, and a larger viewing angle. Although, he didn’t reveal any specific numbers.

Display improvements

One of the key highlights of the S25 Ultra is going to be the refreshed flat display. The device is rumored to have a 6.86-inch panel, slightly larger than the 6.8-inch display on the S24 Ultra.

Reports suggest that this new screen could see a brightness boost of around 20–30%, potentially reaching 3100–3400 nits, which would be a significant upgrade from the 2600-nit peak brightness of its predecessor. However, readers should take this information with a pinch of salt.

This improvement could be achieved using Samsung’s new M14 OLED material, which is expected to deliver enhancements in color accuracy, viewing angles, and brightness.

Performance and in-hand experience:

The design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra also appears to be evolving. Leaks indicate a return to rounded corners, which hasn’t been seen since the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The aluminum dummy units reveal that the phone will be more comfortable to hold, with dimensions of 8.25mm thickness (down from 8.6mm on the S24 Ultra) and a narrower body (77.6mm vs. 79mm). Additionally, the device will be lighter, weighing 221 grams compared to the 232 grams of its predecessor.

iQOO 13 to be one of the few Snapdragon 8 Elite flagships without a price hike

Just days before its official unveiling, the price of iQOO’s upcoming flagship phone, the iQOO 13, may have been leaked on Chinese social media platform Weibo.

While the company has been strategically revealing its features in the lead-up to the October 30th launch, it has kept official pricing under wraps — unsurprisingly.

iQOO 13 won’t get a price hike

A post by prominent Weibo tech tipster Digital Chat Station, however, may have spilled the beans on the price. The tipster claims that the smartphone will be priced at 3,999 yuan (approximately $565).

Interestingly, the now-edited post used the word “confirmed” about the price, which makes the information seem reliable. However, note the tipster did not specify if this price is for the iQOO 13.

Digital Chat Station’s post referenced an earlier discussion about a “sub-series” phone that would see minimal price inflation compared to its predecessor. With the iQOO 12’s launch price at 3,999 yuan, this cryptic hint suggests that the leaked price may indeed apply to the iQOO 13.

If true, the iQOO 13 could likely be one of the few flagships this year without a price increase. Xiaomi recently confirmed a price hike for its upcoming Xiaomi 15 series, while Vivo launched its X200 series flagships with a price bump.

Specifications

iQOO 13 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip along with a self-developed gaming chip, the Q2 that will offer a PC-level 2K super-resolution and native 144FPS gaming.

The front will be home to a 2K Q10 Everest display, developed in collaboration with China-based BOE, designed to deliver superior brightness and color accuracy while minimizing power consumption.

iQOO-13-black-1

While not confirmed, the phone is likely to have a 6.82-inch flat OLED panel that offers a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, it offers the world’s first OLED circularly polarized light eye protection technology to reduce eye strain during prolonged use.

Keeping the lights on will be a 6150mAh battery with 120W charging support. It will boot on OriginOS 5 based on Android 15 while the rest of the revealed specs include a dual speaker and a large-sized 1016H motor for haptics.

Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro global launch confirmed for November

Oppo announced the Find X8 and X8 Pro smartphones in China yesterday and confirmed they’ll launch them globally soon.

Following the announcement, Oppo has already begun teasing the Find X8 series in Indonesia. The teaser reveals that the phone will launch there in November 2024.

The official launch date is still under wraps, though. We also expect a launch in India could follow soon after—or possibly at the same time.

Oppo Find X8 Series Specifications

Both phones boast high-resolution LTPO OLED displays. The Find X8 features a 6.59-inch flat display, while the Find X8 Pro upgrades to a 6.78-inch micro-curved screen. Both offer adaptive refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz, Dolby Vision support, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits for HDR content.

Powering the devices is the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, fabricated on a 3nm process. Storage options range up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, catering to demanding users. Large-area VC cooling is there to maintain performance under heavy workloads.

The operating system is Android 15 with Oppo’s custom ColorOS 15 on top. The new ColorOS iteration promises a revamped user experience with new and improved AI features.

As for the camera, the Find X8 has a triple 50MP rear setup, including a main Sony LYT-700 sensor, an ultrawide sensor, and a 3x periscope telephoto lens. The Find X8 Pro ups the ante with a quad-camera system adding a 6x periscope telephoto lens.

The Pro model also benefits from a larger 1/1.4-inch Sony LYT-808 primary sensor for improved low-light capabilities.

Both models feature 120x digital zoom, a HyperTone image engine, and Hasselblad Portrait Mode. AI features like AI Erase, AI Anti-Reflection, and AI De-Blur further enhance image processing.

The Find X8 is equipped with a 5,630mAh battery, while the Find X8 Pro offers a slightly larger 5,910mAh capacity. Both support Oppo’s 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

7 Reasons why foldable phones are better than iPhone

Foldable phones have gained attention as a practical and innovative alternative to traditional smartphones, particularly when compared to premium devices like the iPhone. With their unique form factor, multitasking capabilities, and affordability, foldables are offering a fresh approach to mobile technology. Here’s why they may be a better choice than an iPhone:

ALSO READ: Top 5 foldable phones to watch in 2025

1. More Screen Space

One of the primary benefits of foldable phones is the ability to expand into a tablet-sized display while remaining compact. Models like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series and Vivo X Fold series provide users with a dual experience — a standard phone that can unfold into a larger screen, ideal for reading, gaming, and multitasking. iPhones, while having excellent display quality, offer only a single screen in a regular candy bar design, limiting the viewing experience.

2. Flip Phones: A Compact and Stylish Alternative

Apart from horizontally foldable devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and OnePlus Open, smartphone companies also produce vertically foldable, such as the Motorola Razr 50 series, Honor Magic Flip, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Their clamshell design provides a satisfying tactile experience and a pocket-friendly form factor that’s perfect for those who prioritize portability.

With the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro sporting a relatively compact 6.3-inch display, flip phones like the Razr 50 Ultra, with its 6.9-inch main screen and useful cover screen, offer comparable screen real estate with added portability when folded. If you’re drawn to the iPhone’s smaller size but crave a bit more flair and functionality, a flip phone might be the perfect compromise.

3. Next-level Multitasking

Foldables take multitasking to the next level. Many models, such as the Galaxy Z Fold series, allow for multiple apps to run side by side on the larger screen, creating a seamless experience for work and leisure. Users can check emails, take notes, and browse the web simultaneously, which is especially useful for professionals on the go. In contrast, iPhones are limited to single-screen functionality, making multitasking a bit more cumbersome.

4. Flexible Interaction and Viewing Options

Foldables bring an extra level of versatility that traditional smartphones can’t offer. “Flex Mode,” available on models like the Galaxy Z Flip, lets users set the phone at an angle for hands-free video calls or stable long-exposure shots. This hands-free functionality appeals to vloggers and content creators looking for flexible recording angles and modes that are not possible with a standard phone like the iPhone.

5. Productivity and Creativity Tools

Some foldables, like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Honor Magic V3, come with additional tools such as a stylus, enhancing productivity and creativity. These features allow users to sketch, take notes, or annotate documents with ease, making foldables ideal for artists, designers, and professionals. iPhones are excellent for everyday use but lack the creative tools and tablet-like experience that foldables can provide.

6. Enhanced Gaming and Entertainment Experience

For gaming enthusiasts and streaming fans, foldables offer an unmatched entertainment experience. Their larger displays provide a more immersive experience, and some models even have enhanced cooling and battery management features for uninterrupted gameplay. This expansive screen space and added functionality make foldables an ideal choice for those who prioritize entertainment, beyond what iPhones offer on a single screen.

7. Dual-Screen Camera Setup for Better Selfies

Foldables utilize their design for enhanced camera functionality. The folding mechanism allows users to use the high-quality main camera for selfies, providing a significant improvement over standard front cameras. Models like the Galaxy Z Flip offer a small cover screen that acts as a viewfinder, allowing you to capture high-quality selfies using the primary camera — a feature iPhones lack.

8. Cost Comparison: Affordable Premium Options

While the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models come with top-tier features, they also come with a high price tag. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,000 for the base 128GB variant and goes up to Rs 1,69,000 for the 1TB variant. The iPhone 16 Pro Max, meanwhile, ranges from Rs 1,44,900 for the 256GB variant to Rs 1,84,900 for the 1TB variant.

In comparison, many foldable phones offer premium features at a relatively lower price point. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 starts at Rs 1,64,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is available for Rs 1,59,999. Even more affordable is the OnePlus Open, which launched at Rs 1,39,999 for a single 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.

This shift in pricing makes foldables a more accessible and attractive option for those seeking cutting-edge technology without breaking the bank.

The Xiaomi 15 series is crafted from aviation-grade aluminum with a “crater lens design,” ensuring a stylish and sturdy frame. The Pro model also includes a ceramic lens deco design, offering a more refined and polished look. The Xiaomi 15 Pro will weigh 213g and have a thickness of 8.35mm.

According to previous rumors, the Pro model could include a 6000 mAh battery (up from the 4880 mAh of the predecessor) and support 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. However, readers should take it with a pinch of salt as it’s not confirmed yet.

Performance expectations:

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Xiaomi 15 series promises to deliver improvements in power efficiency and raw performance. This chipset, coupled with up to 16GB RAM, ensures a seamless multitasking experience. It also comes with Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, which focuses on optimizing system performance and user interface fluidity.

With significant improvements in design, display, and performance, the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro are set to be compelling options in the flagship segment. The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite and a larger battery marks a substantial upgrade over the Xiaomi 14 series, hinting at a more refined and balanced flagship experience and a higher price tag.

HUAWEI Mate XT True Review: The NEW Phone Everyone Wants

You guys might not believe it, but the iPhone 16 and the Mate XT were released on the same day. I don’t want to blame Apple, they make their own business decisions. But I am sure everyone wants to see more of a phone like the Mate XT because it is so special! So impressive! It reminds me of the first foldable phone from Samsung released five years ago, everybody loved it, and everybody wanted to get it. Now, the Mate XT did the same thing. If you have it now, you are definitely the ONE IN A MILLION.

Design

As you can see, the Mate XT is the lightest and thinnest tablet I’ve ever seen, and the thickest and heaviest phone I’ve ever used. When you unfold and use the Mate XT, the display is so impressive. The super narrow bezels, high-quality OLED screen, not too not-too-big and not-too-small size make it my favorite tablet.

This camera module is also well placed and grabs on it making it easy to use the phone with one hand. It also doesn’t block the speaker, so I often scroll on TikTok one-handed like this.

But the Mate XT is too heavy and thick as a phone, remember to tighten the belt of your pants when you’re carrying it in your pocket, otherwise you’ll lose $3,000 and your prestige among your friends.

The Mate XT is very interesting, because its pros are hidden when it’s folded, and its cons disappear when it’s unfolded. So the best way to use the Mate XT is of course like this, only Fold it and put it in your pocket when you need to move.

Why Mate XT

So why does everyone want the Mate XT? The reason is that it’s very rare. Being rare means you can show off in front of everyone.

When I had it, my happiest moments were always when people stared at me. You know what’s the hardest thing when you want to show off? When you slowly unfold a phone in front of someone, and then quickly close it without even realizing it. You know what, it is so hard to keep a straight face when everyone’s eyes are on you.

It’s definitely a head-turner and makes me feel like I’m the chosen one. Yes, it gives you a sense of satisfaction that no other phone can. I think Mate XT users should experience this often in the coming year.

Display & Hinges

Ok, let’s come back and talk about the phone itself. The Mate XT’s screen is ordinary but surprisingly good. When it’s folded, it doesn’t have a high resolution, nor a high refresh rate or brightness. It supports LTPO, but only down to 60Hz. That does not sound quite good right?

Once you unfold it, it becomes a tablet with super high resolution, brightness, and contrast. What I actually like more is the screen ratio, it’s so much better than the regular foldable phones that are close to 1:1. The black area is smaller when watching videos, and I don’t have to put up with the weird UI of unoptimized apps. So like I said before, try to use it unfolded to get the best experience.

About the hinge, the Mate XT can be hovered, but it doesn’t seem to be optimized accordingly. The camera App doesn’t split into two parts when the phone is opened halfway. And if you put it on a table, you’ll notice that it’s not 100% flat. After all, there are two hinges, which makes sense to me.

One thing to keep in mind is to never fold it the wrong way, or the tri-fold phone will become a tri-piece phone.

Richard Yu showed off a foldable keyboard at the launch event, and everyone seemed very interested. Guess what? We got a similar one. Since this tablet form is great for browsing the web and editing text, the Mate XT is really perfect for writers, especially those who like to write in cafés.

Do you guys know the Zenbook 17 Fold? That’s a foldable laptop from ASUS. Can the Mate XT be folded up like it and use the bottom half used as a keyboard? The lower half of it does work as a keyboard, but due to the center of gravity and camera bulge, it doesn’t get laid out on a table. So the keyboard is something you’ll have to get for yourself.

Camera

The Mate XT’s camera is arguably way ahead of the tablet’s crappy camera. The main camera, ultra-wide camera, and telephoto camera are all top-notch. Getting a good photo day or night is as easy as pie.

Some people will have questions: no other cameras between the 1x main camera and the 5.5x telephoto, does it mean that the clarity of the photos taken in this range will be low? HUAWEI of course knows about this problem, so they solved it in the best way they know: AI Enhancement.

Can you believe that these are all the photos you get by cropping the main camera? How come the picture quality is still so good? The answer is the power of AI. While most of the time the optical ones are just going to be better than the AI ones, the optics don’t always win though. I mean, HUAWEI’s AI algorithms are the best I’ve ever seen, and clarity is not something you need to worry about.

What you really need to worry about is elsewhere, such as the macro mode. We were able to take macro photos with the telephoto camera on the Pura 70 Ultra, but not the Mate XT. While the Ultra Wide Camera can also take nice macro shots, I’d still like to see the macro shooting capability added to the telephoto cameras.

Performances

The Mate XT’s processor hasn’t been updated, it’s still a Kirin 9010. The scores are similar to the Mate 60 Pro and Pura 70 Ultra.

To make up for the performance, HUAWEI has used frame interpolation on some popular games, so you can see at the beginning of running Genshin Impact, that it’s capable of getting 60fps.

But because it’s so thin, and the screen resolution and rendering resolution become higher when unfolded, the frame rate drops as a matter of fact. If you fold it, you’re able to get higher frame rates for games, but then why would you buy this phone?

Overall, because of this big screen, the Mate XT is great for playing less intense games. As for big 3D games, you might check out other tablets.

Charging & Battery

The charging curve is here for your reference, a full charge in one hour isn’t slow, but it’s not fast either. 66W of wired charging isn’t a surprise, but 50W of wireless charging is. I’m glad they didn’t take wireless charging away in such a thin body; after all, I do use wireless charging a lot.

I didn’t test the Mate XT by the same standards as before, because it wouldn’t be fair to it by either phone or tablet standards. Based on my way of use, it was connected to Wi-Fi most of the time. No gaming, just scrolling on TikTok and watching online videos. I use it unfolded whenever I can, and I’m still quite satisfied that it lasts almost a full day.

Of course, if you play games or don’t use Wi-Fi, charging twice a day is a must. All in all, it’s going to have a longer battery life than we thought, but not a surprisingly long one.

System

You guys must think that HUAWEI has designed a brand-new system for the Mate XT, don’t you? But sadly, it doesn’t.

Things like split screen and window hover are the same as HUAWEI’s tablet. Similarly, when closed, it’s the same as a regular phone. I was going to introduce you to some new stuff as well. Like, wow, this new feature is freaking awesome! But, HUAWEI didn’t give me that chance.

Thinking in another way though, being able to transplant all the well-optimized software from different devices to the Mate XT, making it feature-rich, stable, and smooth, has already been remarkable.

Mate XT is the pinnacle of HUAWEI, no one can make this Tri-fold phone except HUAWEI. They once made Mate Xs, the foldable phone with a flexible screen on the outside. They also make normal foldable phones and tablets. It’s the combination of the hardware and software of all these devices, then we have a phone like the Mate XT.

I’m glad to see that even though HUAWEI has grown so big, they don’t release phones that look exactly the same every year. It’s these special phones that make me, and make us, so excited. I’m pretty sure this is my DREAM phone in 2024.

Alleged Redmi K80 Pro receives 3C certification; November launch expected

Xiaomi recently confirmed that it will announce the Xiaomi 15 series in China on Oct. 29. Now, its sub-brand Redmi is gearing up for the launch of the Redmi K80 series. It appears the K80 series’ launch is not too far away, as the alleged Redmi K80 Pro has passed 3C certification in China. The said device has appeared with model number 24117RK2CC in 3C’s database.

The 3C certification of the Redmi 24117RK2CC reveals that it may ship with a 90W fast charger. Unfortunately, the 3C listing does not reveal anything else about the device.

Leaked specifications suggest the Redmi K80 Pro will be a powerhouse, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which also powers the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. Its display will reportedly be a 6.67-inch OLED flat panel from TCL Huaxing. It is expected to support a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Rumor has it that the K80 Pro will have up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Reports claim that the device will feature a 6,500mAh battery. Apart from 90W wired charging, the device is expected to have wireless charging support.

In the camera department, the Redmi K80 Pro is tipped to feature a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a telephoto lens. It is also expected to feature an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

Redmi General Manager Wang Teng has hinted at a price increase for the K80 series, citing rising component costs, particularly for the advanced 3nm processor and memory. Despite the potential price hike, Teng assures that the K80 series will offer exceptional value and “outperform many competing products.”

Rumors suggest that the Redmi K80 series will be announced in November in China. It is expected to face competition from the likes of the OnePlus Ace 5 series, iQOO Neo 10 series, and Realme GT Neo 7, which are expected to debut in November-December in China.

To recall, the Realme GT 5 Pro featured a massive round camera module. On the contrary, the GT 7 Pro’s camera module, located in the top-left corner, follows a square design. Additionally, the phone supports 120x digital zoom.

In terms of display, the GT 7 Pro flaunts the world’s first Eco² Skyscape Screen, a custom Samsung display. It supports hardware-level full-brightness DC dimming and Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, elevating both the screen quality and user convenience. The 6.78-inch screen supports a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

On the performance front, the Realme GT 7 Pro is one of the first devices to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, achieving over 3.02 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark. Additionally, the device is said to pack a 6,500mAh silicon-based battery with 120W fast charging.

Samsung W25 and W25 Flip renders revealed: W25 will be based on the Z Fold Special Edition

Samsung‘s upcoming foldable devices for China, the W25 and W25 Flip, have been the subject of recent leaks, providing insights into their design and specifications. Based on the renders, these models feature the classic black-and-gold accents of the W-series, along with a distinct pattern on the sides instead of the usual smooth finish.

Design details:

The Samsung W25 is a book-style foldable that will reportedly draw from the design of the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, a variant of the Z Fold6 that is exclusive to South Korea.

Meanwhile, the W25 Flip will be modeled after the Galaxy Z Flip6. Both devices showcase premium aesthetics with golden highlights along the metal frame and camera bump, consistent with the elegant style seen in Samsung’s W-series.

Samsung W25 and W25 Flip expected specs:

The W25 will borrow heavily from the Z Fold Special Edition, which means it may sport larger displays: a 6.5-inch cover screen and an 8.0-inch internal screen, compared to the regular Z Fold 6’s 6.3-inch and 7.6-inch displays. The device will feature a powerful 200 MP main camera, replacing the standard 50 MP sensor found on the usual Z Fold 6, but it will not include S Pen support. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it aims to deliver reasonably good performance, in line with other flagship foldables.

The W25 Flip is expected to maintain the key features of the Galaxy Z Flip6. It will include a 6.7-inch folding screen with a 3.4-inch cover display. The device, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, could come equipped with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The camera setup remains consistent with a 50 MP main sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide lens, and a 10 MP front camera for selfies. However, the W25 Flip is said to be slightly heavier than the Z Flip6 (187g) due to material differences, weighing 198g.

Asus ROG Phone 9 complete spec leaks with high-quality renders

Following Asus‘ official announcement of the ROG Phone 9’s launch date on November 19th, a leak from 91mobiles suggests the phone may offer a more modest upgrade compared to its predecessor.

While the phone will feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the report suggests that other key aspects remain largely the same.

Asus ROG Phone 9 Specifications

According to the leak, the ROG Phone 9 keeps the same 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and FHD+ (2400 x 1080) resolution.

Camera specs appear similar as well, with a 32MP selfie camera and a triple rear setup featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro lens, replacing the ROG Phone 8’s 32MP telephoto lens.

The leak also suggests a minor upgrade in battery capacity from 5,500mAh to 5,800mAh. Charging will be handled via a 65W adapter.

Asus ROG Phone 9 serie

However, it remains unclear if wireless charging will be included, although it’s expected since last year’s ROG Phone 8 offered this feature. The phone is still likely to include a 3.5mm headphone jack with a Hi-Fi DAC for high-fidelity audio.

Unsurprisingly, Asus will also embrace AI in the ROG Phone 9 series. The phone reportedly utilizes AI for call translation and transcription, background image generation, object recognition via the camera, and even game upscaling to higher resolutions.

Beyond the specifications, 91mobiles has shared renders showing the phone in Storm White and Phantom Black. Although a hands-on video of the design has leaked, these renders give us a much better view of the phone’s look.

As you can see, the phone’s design language remains similar to its predecessor, featuring a secondary display on the back. It reportedly measures 163.8×76.8×8.9 mm, keeping it close in size to the previous model, with a weight of 227 grams.

Apple teases a week-long Mac event starting October 28th

We expected the launch of M4-powered MacBooks sooner or later. It turns out the wait isn’t long, as the company has officially confirmed that new Macs are coming next week.

Marketing chief Greg Joswiak shared the news on X (formerly Twitter). However, his message is somewhat cryptic, as it doesn’t provide an exact date for the event. Instead, he said, “We have an exciting week of announcements ahead, starting on Monday morning. Stay tuned…”

If we interpret the message correctly, the new Mac announcements will span an entire week. While the visuals don’t reveal much, they suggest that the new Macs will focus on Apple Intelligence—no surprise, considering how Apple has promoted the iPhone 16 family and iPad mini 7.

What can we expect from the upcoming MacBook event?

The M4 chip debuted earlier this year in the latest iPad, bringing improvements in AI processing and overall CPU performance.

In fact, we’ve already seen a MacBook Pro unboxing and benchmark tests for the M4 variant, thanks to a YouTuber in Russia who got their hands on the laptops early. The design remains familiar, featuring plenty of ports, vibrant and smooth displays, and a responsive keyboard.

The MacBook Pro will likely come in 14-inch and 16-inch models. We’re also expecting an M4-powered Mac Mini, a 24-inch iMac, and accessories like the Magic Keyboard 2, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2.

Apple M4 MacBook Pro unboxing
M4 MacBook Pro

We might also see Apple’s more powerful M4-based chips, like the M4 Pro and M4 Max. However, other Macs aren’t expected soon. The M4 MacBook Air likely won’t arrive until early 2025, and updates to the Mac Studio and Mac Pro may take even longer. The latter is expected to come with the M4 Ultra chip. So, if you’re eager for Apple’s latest silicon, the M4 MacBook Pro might be your only option in the near future.
