Nike and Beats have introduced the Powerbeats Pro 2 Nike Special Edition, a new set of wireless earbuds designed for fitness-focused users. The collaboration combines performance features with a distinct dual-brand design and adds health tracking capabilities aimed at athletes.

The earbuds feature secure-fit earhooks to keep them stable during high-intensity workouts. They include Active Noise Cancelling for blocking external noise and a Transparency mode that lets users stay aware of their surroundings when needed. Sweat and water resistance ensure reliability across workouts such as running, strength training, and outdoor sessions.

A key addition is built-in heart rate monitoring during workouts. The feature integrates with the Nike Run Club app, allowing users to track performance without needing a separate wearable. Nike and Beats are positioning this as a step toward more integrated fitness audio products.

The earbuds come with five ear tip sizes to improve comfort and fit across different users. Battery life is rated at up to 45 hours with the included wireless charging case, making them suitable for extended use across multiple sessions.

Design is a major focus of this edition. The earbuds use a two-tone Volt and matte black finish. In a first for Beats, the branding is split across the earbuds, with the “b” logo on one side and the Nike Swoosh on the other. The charging case follows the same visual theme with a Volt splatter design and Nike’s “Just Do It” tagline inside. The product is also part of a campaign featuring LeBron James, highlighting its use across training and recovery routines.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 Nike Special Edition was first made available through an early-access lottery on March 17 via SNKRS. It will launch globally on March 20 through Nike.com, Apple.com, and select Apple Stores.

In India, the earbuds are priced at $249.99 and will be available online only through Apple’s website. In-store availability is limited to select Apple Store locations in markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and Singapore.

OnePlus Buds 4

The OnePlus Buds 4 are unapologetically ambitious for a pair of budget earbuds. Available in Zen Green and Storm Grey, they buds have a dual driver setup of an 11mm woofer with a high-end ceramic-metal diaphragm and a 6mm flat tweeter. 

With this, OnePlus claims the buds can cover a frequency range from 15Hz all the way to 40kHz. You also get support for Hi-Res Audio and the LHDC 5.0 codec, which allows streaming at up to 1Mbps and 24-bit/192kHz resolution. 

More useful to everyday listeners is the Buds 4’s adaptive ANC. OnePlus says it cancels noise up to 55dB across a 5,500Hz range, and there’s an adaptive mode that adjusts between transparency and full noise-canceling depending on your environment. 

For calls, it has a triple-mic setup and AI Clear Call algorithm, and it also includes features like real-time AI translation (limited to select OnePlus phones), OnePlus 3D Audio, and personalized sound tuning. 

Anker Soundcore P40i

Anker is no stranger to the earbuds game, and it knows how to make a great pair of earbuds, whether in budget or premium. As for the budget, the Soundcore P40i may be its best value-focused pair. 

Selling for around $50, they come with six sizes of eartips for a snug fit and offer a surprisingly complete package: ANC, transparency mode, multipoint Bluetooth, solid call quality, and powerful bass.

They are bass-heavy by default, but not sloppy or bloated. You still get clarity and a surprisingly wide soundstage. The Soundcore app also lets you tweak EQ settings if you want something more neutral or brighter. It’s not studio-grade audio, but for this price, the tuning is impressive.

One of the P40i’s most clever features is the charging case. It can double as a stand for your phone. You can flip the lid and prop your device up to make it stable.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Core

Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds Core in June 2025 as a more affordable alternative to its premium earbuds, but they still manage to include some standout features. For starters, they come with ANC and a “new dynamic driver” that delivers deep bass and richer sound. 

The buds have a three-mic system for calls that Samsung claims is best in its class. But perhaps the most headline-worthy feature is Galaxy AI’s Interpreter mode, which brings two-way, real-time translation directly to your ears. 

They’re also IP54-rated, have touch controls, and support auto-switching between devices within the Galaxy ecosystem. The buds can last up to 35 hours without ANC and around 20 with it. The Buds Core come in black or white and pair best with Galaxy phones, though they’ll work with other Android devices as well.

Apple AirPods 4

 The sole Apple listing on this list is the AirPods 4. Launched at a base price of $129, these earbuds are currently enjoying a solid discount on Amazon, where you can get them for around $90.

The AirPods 4 come in two models: a base version and an ANC version, which also adds wireless charging and a speaker in the case for easier tracking. The pricier model is the more interesting of the two; it’s the first open-style earbud (without silicone tips) with effective active noise cancellation.

Open earbuds usually sacrifice bass and sound isolation, but Apple’s tuning keeps things surprisingly balanced. The sound quality is impressive for this design, and the call quality is excellent.

They also include Apple’s H2 chip for improved efficiency and connectivity, along with Spatial Audio support and intuitive pinch controls. They’re a particularly good choice for those who dislike in-ear tips or want to stay more aware of their surroundings, especially during commutes or workouts.

The only downside of AirPods 4 (for some) could be their fit. They may not fit securely in all ears. And if you’re after stronger ANC or better passive isolation, the AirPods Pro 2 remain the better pick.

Beats Solo Buds

The Beats Solo Buds are the cheapest option in the Beats lineup, and that shows in a few ways. There’s no ANC, no sensors for auto-pause, and—oddly—no battery in the case. 

That last part means you’ll need a USB-C cable and an external power source to charge the buds if they’re inside the case, which might be a dealbreaker for some.

Still, they get the basics right. They’re lightweight, sound decent, and perform well on voice calls, nearly matching the pricier Studio Buds Plus in that area. And despite the minimalist case, battery life is strong. You’ll just have to remember to keep them charged the old-school way.

To recall, the Beats Pill was initially announced in multiple color options like the Matte Black, Statement Red, and Champagne Gold. But the new release includes a refreshing Blush Pink and sober Navy Blue color variants. Both of these are set to arrive in summer 2025. These models will be available via certain retails like Target in the US for the Blush Pink variant, while the Navy Blue can be purchased from Walmart.

The two new models aren’t getting a price hike, arriving for 149.95 US Dollars and are available for purchase right now. In the United Kingdom, the Blush Pink is listed on John Lewis for 149.99 Pounds. Customers in Canada can also purchase the speakers from Walmart, although its pricing will be confirmed later on. The two new colors are likely inspired by the summer vibes. It is a proper paint job that covers the front, rear, and even the buttons and lanyard.

Back in November 2024, the Beats x Kim Kardashian collaboration also brought a limited edition variant that includes Light Gray and Dark Dray color options. Apple has just introduced a new pair of wireless earbuds—but they aren’t AirPods. It’s the Powerbeats Pro 2, the latest offering from Beats (which Apple owns), which brings some interesting upgrades that even surpass the AirPods Pro 2 in certain aspects. But, of course, these improvements come at a cost.

The first generation of Powerbeats Pro debuted in 2019, and Beats has taken its time delivering a follow-up. Now, the Powerbeats Pro 2 are here, and they’re packed with features that put them toe-to-toe with Apple’s flagship AirPods Pro 2. However, these are very different products with distinct use cases. Let’s break down the key differences.

Design

The AirPods Pro 2 has a design that needs no introduction. Apple’s signature stem-based earbuds are lightweight, easy to slip into your ears, and come with four sizes of silicone ear tips for a better fit. 

The Powerbeats Pro 2, on the other hand, follows a completely different philosophy. These sport-focused earbuds have an over-the-ear hook design that provides a much more secure fit—ideal for workouts and high-intensity activities.

Tech and Features: Shared DNA with a Twist

Both earbuds share some core Apple technology. The Powerbeats Pro 2 inherits many of the AirPods Pro 2’s best features, including Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency Mode, Adaptive EQ, and Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking. Both models also rely on Apple’s H2 chip to power these features.

However, there are some key differences:

• Bluetooth: Apple lists Bluetooth 5.3 for the AirPods Pro 2, but for the Powerbeats Pro 2, it only mentions Bluetooth Class 1. Both should offer strong connectivity, but the specifics of any differences remain unclear.
• Controls: AirPods Pro 2 uses touch controls, allowing you to swipe up or down on the stem for volume adjustments. The Powerbeats Pro 2 uses a more traditional approach, with physical buttons for volume and a multi-function button on each earbud.
• Heart Rate Sensor: The standout feature exclusive to the Powerbeats Pro 2 is the built-in heart rate monitor. This makes them Apple’s first earbuds to track your heart rate in real-time, automatically logging the data on an iPhone. On Android, users need to manually start and stop tracking via the Beats app.

Battery Life

If longevity is your priority, the Powerbeats Pro 2 is clearly a better choice in this regard. Apple claims they offer up to 10 hours of continuous playback per charge, with a total of 45 hours with the charging case. And thanks to what Apple calls Fast Fuel technology, you can get 1.5 hours of playback time within just five minutes of charging. 

In comparison, the AirPods Pro 2 lasts for six hours per charge (five and a half with head tracking enabled), and the charging case extends this to 30 hours total. A quick five-minute charge gives them about one hour of playback. 

That’s a significant difference—especially for users who don’t want to worry about frequent recharging. 

Speaking of which, both devices support wireless charging, but Apple takes a slightly different approach for each. The AirPods Pro 2 case works with MagSafe chargers, Apple Watch chargers, USB-C, and Qi-certified chargers. The Powerbeats Pro 2 case is Qi-certified but doesn’t support MagSafe or Apple Watch charging. Instead, it charges via USB-C.

Price

Price is, of course, the biggest deciding factor when buying just about anything. But if you’re hoping that might make choosing between the Apple AirPods Pro 2 and the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 any easier, think again. 

Both the AirPods Pro 2 and Powerbeats Pro 2 are priced at $250 in the US. That makes this decision a lot harder. 

For the same price, you’re choosing between Apple’s sleek, pocketable, all-purpose AirPods Pro 2 or the bulkier but more workout-friendly Powerbeats Pro 2, which adds longer battery life and a heart rate monitor (if you need that).

Apple has recently unveiled the Beats Studio Buds+, the successor to the Beats Studio Buds, as the company’s latest true wireless earbuds. This new offering comes with various improvements, such as an improved fit, enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Transparency mode, better microphones, extended battery life, and more.

Beats Studio Buds+ specifications

One notable feature of the Beats Studio Buds+ is its transparent design, although it differs from Nothing’s Ear series buds, which sport a clear design. The earbuds also come with an additional extra-small eartip option to provide a better fit.

Apple claims that approximately 95% of the internal components of the Beats Studio Buds+ are brand-new. These include upgraded voice-targeting microphones, which are three times larger than their predecessors, resulting in improved call quality. The earbuds also retain their IPX4 sweat and water-resistant ratings.

Users can easily switch between Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency mode with the push of a button. The ANC on the Beats Studio Buds+ is said to be 1.6 times better, while the Transparency mode is 2 times better compared to the Studio Buds. These improvements are attributed to enhanced ANC processing and a revised vent design. Additionally, the Buds+ supports Spatial Audio for Dolby Atmos on Apple Music but lacks the head-tracking feature found in the Beats Fit Pro and certain AirPods models.

The Beats Studio Buds+ utilizes the “Beats Proprietary Platform” for features like “Hey Siri” and Find My. They also offer compatibility with Google Fast Pair and Audio Switch, enabling users to seamlessly switch between Android, Chromebook, and other compatible devices. Furthermore, they support Google Find My Device.

With ANC turned off, the Buds+ provides up to 36 hours of total battery life (9 hours for the earbuds themselves and an additional 27 hours with the charging case), surpassing the 24-hour total battery life of the Studio Buds. The earbuds also offer fast charging, providing 1 hour of battery life with just 5 minutes of charging. However, they do not support wireless charging.

Apple Beats Studio Buds+ is available in Black/Gold and Ivory color options, along with the Transparent model. They are priced at $169.99 and are already available for purchase in the United States.

Beats Studio Buds+ features a new transparent design

The news arrives from a series of leaked live images that were shared by Ben Geskin on Twitter. Looking at this tweets, we can see pictures of the retail box, which offers us a glimpse of its entire design as well as some of its highlighting specifications. The retail box reveals that the upcoming TWS earbuds will feature a pebble like design with silicone ear tips. Furthermore, it will be available in a black and white color option, along with one variant that has a transparent body for the earbuds.

This means that you can see the internal workings of the device, similar to the Nothing Ear (2) earbuds. Furthermore, the retail box confirms that the Beats Studio Buds+ will offer a long 36 hour battery life when paired with its USB Type C enabled charging case. Apart from this, we can see that it supports notable features like ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) and Spatial Audio as well.

The Studio Buds+ had also surfaced on Amazon for a short period of time, and are expected to launch on May 18 with a price tag of 169.95 US Dollars. Apple, under its Beats brand of audio products, has a top-end headphones named Beats Studio, but the company hasn’t updated it for almost half a decade now. However, the device is now all set to get refreshed and will come with some new and premium features.

According to the latest report from 9to5Mac, the Cupertino-based technology giant is about to launch new Beats Studio Pro headphones but the timeline for the launch of this product is not yet confirmed.

It is also being claimed that the headphones will be powered by a custom Beats chip, which is also promised to come with improved support for Active Noise Cancellation and improved performance for the Transparency Mode.

Another update in the device will be the addition of a USB Type-C port for charging the headphones, that too with a faster speed. It is said to have support for features like audio sharing, automatic device switching, and Siri integration, among others. It is also claimed to feature personalized spatial audio.

As for the design, the Beats Studio Pro appears similar to the Studio3, but the company seems to have gotten rid of the Studio branding from the side of the headphones. If the reports are to be believed, then Apple partnered with fashion designer Samuel Ross for the Beats Studio Pro.

There are reports claiming that the Beats Studio Pro will be offered in four color options — Blue, Black, Brown, and White. It is not yet known what will be the price point of the headphones but given that it will be a premium offering, it will be priced on the higher side.

Apple is apparently gearing up to introduce new Beats earbuds on May 18. The Beats Studio Buds+ were first spotted on the iOS 16.4 Release Candidate in May. The hearables later received IMDA certification and were also listed on Amazon with key specifications. While we wait for a formal debut, the Beats Studio Buds successor has now appeared on the NCC certification site with some fresh live images. Let’s have a look.

Beats Studio Buds+ Look quite Similar to the Original earbuds

The Apple Beats Studio Buds+ have been spotted on the NCC certification website with a design similar to the original Studio Buds, launched in 2021. The earbuds have an in-ear design with silicon ear tips for better grip. They seem to have a small, light stem-less design that loses the ear hooks. Both earbuds have cutouts for the microphones.

The two earbuds that come with the Beats package have distinct model numbers: the left one is labeled A2782, while the right one bears the label A2781. Additionally, the package includes a charging case that has the model number A2780. The charging case comes with an oval-shaped design and displays the Beats logo on its front.

As per a recent Amazon listing, the Beats Studio Buds+ will come with an improved battery life of up to 36 hours with the included USB-C charging case. For reference, the last generation model offers 32 hours of playtime. The new earbuds are also expected to feature upgraded microphones with 3x larger size and new venting to improve ear pressure. Beats claims that the new Studio Buds+ will offer 1.6x more active noise cancellation , along with up to 2x improved transparency mode.

Apple is working on new Beat earbuds and traces of the same were found in iOS 16.4 Release Candidate last month. The earbuds are expected to be called the Beats Studio Buds+ and they’ll likely arrive as an upgrade over the original Studio Buds that were launched in 2021. While there’s no official announcement yet, the earbuds have received the IMDA certification, suggesting they are a step closer to the launch.

Beats Studio Buds+ early details

The latest IMDA listing of the hearables does not reveal anything peculiar about the earbuds. The Indonesian authority lists the Beats Studio Buds+ with model numbers A2872 and A2871 and that’s about all the details we get from the listing. They were recently spotted on the FCC website as well but no interesting revelations were made from there as well.

Luckily, the earbuds appeared on IOS 16.4 Release Candidate last month with some key specifications. It was discovered that Studio Buds+ will get an Apple chip underneath, unlike the original Studio Buds that feature a proprietary Beats chip. The new chip will apparently open doors for new features like audio sharing, auto device switching, and voice commands via “Hey Siri.”

You can expect them to offer standard features like active noise cancellation and transparency mode. A leaked image of the Beats earbuds reveals they will have media controls for play/pause and also the option to press and hold to switch between noise-canceling modes. The TWS can be seen in a new black color with gold details, but the rest of the design remains essentially the same as its predecessor. Other specifications are yet to be known. After releasing the stable build of iOS 16.3.1, Apple is now expected to soon launch the iO6 16.4 and the Release Candidate of the same is now available to those registered in the company’s developer program. It carries new features, including new emojis, and web app notifications. Interestingly, the software also includes a reference to the unreleased Beats Studio Buds+. Here are the details.

As discovered by 9to5Mac, the iOS 16.4 Release Candidate has references for an upcoming pair of Beats Studio Buds. The earbuds are said to be a refresh over the existing Beats Studio Buds and will be called the Beats Studio Buds+.

The earbuds have been spotted with codename 8214 and are reported to use an Apple chip. This sets them apart from the original Beats Studio Buds that were released in 2021 with a proprietary Beats chip. However, just like the regular buds, the new Buds+ will have active noise cancellation and transparency mode.

The publication has also shared some images of the new earbuds, which reveal they will have media controls for play/pause and also the option to press and hold to switch between noise-canceling modes. They have been pictured in a new black color with gold details, however, the design looks almost the same as 2021’s Beats Studio Buds.

The code discovered in iOS 16.4 RC indicates that the upcoming Beats Studio Buds+ will also be able to share audio, switch devices automatically, and respond to voice commands via “Hey Siri.” These features are similar to those of the AirPods and other Beats wireless earbuds that feature an Apple chip. The original Studio Buds, on the other hand, lack these functions as they don’t use a wireless chip from Apple.

Earlier this week, Beats announced a new collaboration, which offered a special edition variant of one of its existing hearable products. The company has just launched a new Beats Flex wireless earphones special edition from its partnership with Wacko Maria.

Looking at its design, the company has officially launched a new leopard printed variant of the Beats Flex. This new special edition also features a dual color cable design. For those unaware, the Flex wireless earphones are the brand’s entry level hearables that was first launched back in 2020. The earphones also feature Apple’s W1 chipset that helps in seamless setup and switching across Apple devices. It even comes with multiple ear tip sizes, magnetic earbuds that secure the buds to your neck.

The Flex offers up to 12 hours of battery life and supports Fast Fuel charging via the USB Type C port that delivers up to 90 minutes of playback in just 10 minutes. Apart from the earbuds, the company is also offering special packaging that carries the Wacko Maria branding along with the same leopard printed design for the retail box. Apple has just revived one of its discontinued products. The gadget in question is the Beats Pill+ portable bluetooth speakers, although, its only available for a new limited edition collaboration.

For those unaware, the Cupertino based giant had discontinued the Beats Pill+ a few months ago. But now, Beats is collaborating with known fashion brand Stüssy for a limited edition Beats Pill+ speaker that features a unique design. Looking at this special version, the Pill can be seen with skull and bones along with the Stüssy logo. Furthermore, it also features an engraved message on the top of the speaker that says “the only good system is a sound system.”

Apart from the aesthetic differences, the new limited edition model seems to have an identical design as the original Beats Pill+ that were first launched back in 2015. Talking about availability, Apple will sell the Bluetooth speakers across the globe through Stüssy’s official website, with sales starting this Friday (4th March 2022). Its price is set at $185 in the US, $255 in Canada, £185 in the United Kingdom, €205 in the Netherlands, ₩230,000 in Korea, and ¥21,500 in Japan. Since it is a discontinued product, this might be one of the last time we see it have an official launch, so collector’s might wish to check it out.

The Apple-owned Beats had released the Beats Fit Pro TWS earbuds back in November 2021. However, the product was only made available in the U.S. Now, the brand has finally released these earbuds globally.

According to a report by MacRumors, the Beats Fit Pro earbuds are now available for purchase in various regions like the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, among others.

The TWS earbuds from Apple’s Beats are made with athletes in mind and therefore feature a wingtip design to keep the earbuds glued to your ears offering a good fit. The earphones come with  Apple’s H1 chip offering fast pairing and automatic syncing. This chipset is the same chipset used in Apple’s AirPods Pro.

The Fit Pro has an Active Noise Cancellation feature with a “Transparency” mode and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking which is also similar to the AirPods Pro. The buds offer up to 7 hours of playback without the charging case and up to 30 hours with the charging case. It has an IPX4-rating making it water and sweat-resistant.

The earbuds are available for purchase on the Apple official website and come in four colors – White, Black, Grey, and Purple/Pink. The earbuds were launched at a $199.99 price tag in the US, however, pricing might vary from region to region.

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against Apple for allegedly overpromising the battery life on the Beats by Dre Powerbeats Pro. According to the plaintiff—New York resident Alejandro Vivar—the earbuds don’t last for 9 hours as marketed by Apple.

The lawsuit alleges that part of the problem is the supposed badly-designed charging case, from which the earbuds can be dislodged mid-charge, preventing them from getting filled up (via Law360, Apple Insider).

Also suggested was that the “IPX4-rated sweat and water resistance” isn’t up to the mark as sweat corrodes the charging contacts. This is worsened by the fact that damage through sweat isn’t covered by warranty.

Vivar insists he used Apple’s marketing claims to mean the battery “would last for the time promised, that both earbuds would charge and maintain their charges equally, not be affected by perspiration, and that the charge capability would not be negatively impacted by design or manufacture of the product.”

Apple is also implied to have gained more profits at the “expense of consumers” because it chose not to spill problems with the Powerbeats Pro.

The lawsuit aims to represent a class of purchasers from multiple states including New York, Georgia, Michigan, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Virginia.

It is worth mentioning here that this is not the first time Apple has been sued over the Powerbeats. Previously, there was a suit related to issues with the Powerbeats 2 and Powerbeats 3 that was dismissed in 2020.

However, the earbuds were limited to the US back then. Now, Apple has confirmed that the Beats Fit Pro will launch this month in Canada and Japan.

The Apple Beats Fit Pro will launch on January 24 in Canada, while the Japanese market will get it on January 28. As usual, the earbuds will be up for grabs on the Apple official website. The earbuds are expected to launch in four colors – White, Black, Grey, and Purple/Pink.

The TWS earbuds from Apple’s Beats come with an in-ear design. It has an ear-hook to keep the earbuds glued to your ears offering a good fit. The earphones come with Apple’s H1 chip offering fast pairing and automatic syncing. To remind, this is the same chipset used in Apple’s AirPods Pro.

The Fit Pro has an Active Noise Cancellation feature, again similar to the AirPods Pro. The buds offer up to 7 hours of playback without the charging case and up to 30 hours with the charging case. It has an IPX4-rating making it water and sweat-resistant.

In terms of the pricing, a Canadian publication claims it to launch at a price of CAD $249.95(~$198), while a Japanese publication reveals the price will be JPY 24,800(~$215) in Japan. Just for comparison, the earbuds were launched at a $200 price tag in the US.

Apple-acquired Beats today announced the launch of a special Year of the Tiger edition of its Studio Buds TWS noise-canceling earbuds. They are priced at 1,099 Yuan or around $172 and will be launched on January 1st in China.

The product is obviously designed to welcome the Chinese New Year and comes with a tagline saying: “Listen to the new voice in the Year of the Tiger.” Its design follows the theme as well, with flashy red as its primary color that’s accented with gold stripes to symbolize a tiger.

Both case and earbuds come with the same color scheme and are guaranteed to grab eyeballs due to their extremely unique look.

The Beats Studio Buds were released in June this year in red, black, and white. They are the company’s second true wireless earbuds offering after Powerbeats Pro, and offer ANC and various other goodies despite being cheaper than the AirPods 2.

Audio through the earbuds is produced by 8.2mm dual-element diaphragm drive units that support Dolby Atmos and spatial audio functions. The “b” logo on the earbuds also serves as a button to switch between ANC and transparent modes. Standalone battery life should last for 8 hours but can be stretched up to 24 hours with the charging box.

Apple AirTag Year of the Tiger edition

The earbuds are joined by another product that has received a similar Year of the Tiger makeover – Apple AirTag. Its specialty is a cute little tiger emoji that has been printed on the front.

You can grab this one in Japan, although you might want to hurry since only 20,000 units of these will be sold. There’s also a qualification thingy put in place where you’d have to purchase an iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, or iPhone SE on January 2nd or January 3rd to be eligible for the limited edition AirTag.

As for those looking to purchase the Year of the Tiger edition of the Apple AirTag or the Beats Studio Buds TWS noise-canceling earbuds outside of countries that follow the lunar calendar, well, there’s bad news. Neither will be made available globally.

At the “Unleashed” event, along with the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models powered by the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, Apple also announced its third-generation of AirPods true wireless earphones.

Now, the Cupertino-based technology giant is gearing up to launch new TWS earbuds in the market, dubbed Beats Fit Pro, reports 9to5Mac.

The report claims that the upcoming wireless earbuds will be similar to the Beats Studio Buds launched earlier this year. They are also claimed to come with support for some advanced features like Active Noise Cancellation.

Further, it is also believed that the earphones will come powered by the Apple H1 chip with support for features like fast pairing with Apple devices and Hey Siri. Not just that, the upcoming earbuds will also be offering quick pairing, battery levels, and custom controls on Android through the Beats app.

The Beats Fit Pro is said to come equipped with Class 1 Bluetooth and a built-in accelerometer which will help the product in identifying and reducing external noise when using the microphones.

Coming to the battery department, it is claimed that the earbuds will offer up to six hours of battery life with Active Noise Cancellation or Transparency Mode turned on or seven hours with Adaptive EQ. However, the battery life can be extended up to 27-30 hours using the charging case.

The Beats Fit Pro is expected to come in four different color options — Black, Gray, Purple, and White. The report indicates about the product getting launched on 1st November but we will have to wait for more details, including pricing.

Apple has announced its latest pair of TWS earbuds under the Beats brand. The Beats Studio Buds as they are called are vastly different from the 2019 Beats Powerbeats Pro in terms of design and features. They are also significantly cheaper and can be said to even support Android devices better than any of Apple’s other offerings.

The Beats Studio Buds feature a stem-less design, unlike Apple’s AirPods. They also ditch the hook-like design of the Powerbeats Pro which means they are smaller in form factor. Available in Black, Red, and White, and weighing 5 grams each, the earbuds will be easily recognizable by the famous Beats “b” logo in white on each earbud.

According to the product page, the earbuds use a proprietary layered driver with a dual-chamber acoustic design for clear sound and an effective Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) performance.

Like a number of earbuds with ANC, these also have a Transparency Mode that allows you to hear the world around you. It does this with the help of external-facing microphones that pick up the sounds of your surroundings.

The Beats Studio Buds don’t feature an Apple chip which is surprising but you still get features such as hands-free Hey Siri, a pairing interface similar to AirPods, and integration in the Control Center.

According to The Verge, the lack of an Apple chip means that you don’t get features such as automatic pairing across Apple devices on your iCloud account, audio sharing, and the ability to automatically switch between the devices in use such as from your iPhone to iPad or Mac. However, you do get support for Apple Music’s new Dolby Atmos spatial audio.

While the earbuds lack features associated with Apple earbuds, it does work pretty well with Android devices. They support Fast pair which means they are linked to your Google Account after the first setup and don’t need to be paired to other devices tied to that Google account. They will also display their battery status as well as that of the case under Bluetooth settings. Another feature is support for Find Device which lets you find the device or check its last known location. The product page says you will also be able to update the firmware with the Beats app for Android.

The Beats Studio Buds has an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance. The earbuds have on-device controls that allow you to control playback, answer/reject calls, turn on ANC or transparency mode, or call up the assistant.

The earbuds offer a battery life of 8 hours on a single charge that goes up to 24 hours with the case. They also support fast charging – a 5-minute charge will provide up to 1 hour of playback.

The case of the Beats Studio Buds, which weighs 48 grams, charges via a USB-C port (no wireless charging support). It comes with a USB-C to USB-C charging cable and three pairs of ear tips of different sizes.

If you want the new earbuds, they are listed on Amazon US and Best Buy but are not yet available for purchase until June 24. It has also been announced in China for ¥1099 (~$172) and it will be available starting July 2.

We already know that Apple is working on a new Beats Studio Buds that is set to launch soon. The truly wireless earbuds had surfaced on the FCC database back in May 2021, and now, new images of the hearables have been spotted on a regulatory database in Taiwan.

The upcoming earphones were spotted on Taiwan’s NCC (National Communications Commission) by MacRumors. While images of the earbuds have already surfaced online, the images on the regulatory database offers a closer look at the device. The earphones feature a stemless in ear TWS design. This makes it distinct from other wireless hearables offering from Beats, and even the Apple AirPods.

Furthermore, the Studio Buds arrives with silicone tips, which the company is likely expected to ship with multiple size options to ensure a better fit for its customers. The earbuds are paired with a charging case as well that sports the company’s brand logo. Looking at the images on the Taiwanese website, we can see an individual bud being placed next to a scale to measure its size.

Notably, the images also reveal that the new Beats Studio Buds supports a USB Type C port for charging, as a charging cable can also be seen in the database. This marks a shift in design, since the Powerbeats Pro that launched previously supported Apple’s Lightning port similar to the AirPods. In other words, future products from the company might also be making this shift. Apple is reportedly working on truly wireless earbuds under the Beats brand called the Beats Studio Buds. This was extracted from images possibly inadvertently leaked by the US company. The leaks were from the recently released Beta Builds of the iOS 14.6 and tvOS 14.6 and showed images of the Beats TWS earbuds.

On the back of a very successful run of its popular Apple AirPods, the tech powerhouse continues to develop cutting-edge earbuds to maintain its relevance in the accessories market. The Beats Studio Buds will come with some innovations, as the earbuds are seen to be without stems. The pair of earbuds seemingly bear no resemblance with previous AirPods.

There is not much known about the Beats Studio earbuds other than the fact that they have no stems and are wireless. The full specifications of the device are still not known, as well as possible pricing information. The battery power and fast charging capability, as well as the connectivity options and quality of the output, will guide us to properly situate the upcoming Beats Studio Buds.

Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company, MediaTek has just made a big entry into Apple‘s supply chain for Beats headphones, according to sources familiar with the matter. Apple is the parent company of Beats and its headset factories.

MediaTek was chosen by Beats to produce some important components for its headphones, according to reports. This is the first time MediaTek has had this kind of supply collaboration with Apple as a sole supplier of some components for Apple’s products. At this time, it is yet unclear what specific components the company will be supplying.
It is expected that the first orders from Apple will ship as early as February 2021 -that is according to industry insiders.

In spite of Apple’s discontinuation of the inclusion of headphones inside the iPhone’s package, the company continues to expand its product offering and its range of Beats headphones.

Early estimates point out that close to 200 million iPhones will be sold this year, translating to a similar figure for Apple-branded Beats headphones, in addition to other segments of the market demanding the product. The implications of this huge sales outlay from the perspective of Media Tek is that it will expand its business outlook of the rising company.

MediaTek is a Taiwanese semiconductor company that manufactures chips for wireless communications, high-definition television, smartphones and tablet computers, navigation systems, and a wide array of products. Media Tek claimed a 14% market share of worldwide smartphone sales in 2017. It produced about 1.5 billion devices in 2018.

Apple‘s brand Beats once again joined forces with the famous design brand Fragment Design to jointly release a special edition Powerbeats Pro wireless headset.

The design style of this headset pays tribute to the ideas and principles of Fragment founder and Japanese trend godfather Hiroshi Fujiwara. It is stylish and simple, with a pure single tone. The new edition is available in ivory white, navy blue, glacier blue, cloud pink, lava red, and black.

The classic double lightning logo is printed on one earplug of the headset, and the FRGMT brand is printed on the other earplug. The charging box also has a double flash logo and a set of stickers.

The Powerbeats Pro special edition earphones are ergonomically designed and internally based on the new Apple H1 earphones. The new acoustic structure can output powerful and balanced sound effects, reproduce pure sound quality, bring clearer sound, and enhance the dynamic range.

There are also adjustable non-slip ear hooks, four sizes of earplugs are available, the left and right earplugs are equipped with volume and song control buttons, the automatic play/pause sensor can detect whether the earplugs are in the ear, and it also supports receiving calls.

The earbuds come with Class 1 Bluetooth technology which has a wider coverage, less signal loss, supports Siri voice wake-up and can connect to the iPhone with one button.

The standard battery life is up to 9 hours but with the charging box, the power can go up to more than 24 hours. Also, charging the earbuds for 5 minutes can deliver up to 1.5 hours of playback while a 15-minute charge can last up to 4.5 hours.

The Powerbeats Pro special edition headset is priced at 1888 yuan (~$291) in China. It is expected to go on sale on January 29.
