With the new price cut, the 3GB RAM model is now available for Rs. 12,490 (approximately $171) while the 4GB RAM model costs Rs. 13,990 (approx. $192). The price drop comes less than a month after the company launched the Galaxy J6 Plus in India.

The Samsung Galaxy J6 was first launched in India in July earlier this year. The 3GB RAM variant was launched in India for Rs. 13,990 (~$192) while the 4GB RAM model was introduced for Rs. 16,490 (~$226). However, as said, model models received a price cut in August.

The phone features a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with thin bezels and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the Samsung’s Exynos 7870 octa-core processor, along with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.

The phone comes with a 13MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calling. There’s also a fingerprint sensor placed on the back side for added security. Connectivity options on the device include Dual SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

The Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ were unveiled today without any fanfare. Both phones share a number of key features but also have some major differences.

Galaxy J6+

The Galaxy J6+ has a 6.0” HD+ screen with a 720 x 1480 resolution. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. Samsung didn’t mention the exact chipset but adds that it may differ with respect to markets.

Depending on the model sold in your country, the Galaxy J6+ will have 3GB or 4GB of RAM with 32GB or 64GB of storage. On the back are dual cameras – the primary camera is a 13MP f/1.9 sensor while the secondary camera is a 5MP f/2.2 sensor. An 8MP f/1.9 sensor is above the display for selfies and video calls.

[envira-gallery id=”212494″]

The Galaxy J6+ is the first Samsung phone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. From the images provided, the fingerprint scanner should be easy to reach. The power button, on the other hand, might be a bit difficult since it is closer to the top. The volume buttons are on the left along with the SIM tray.

The phone has a MicroUSB port, Bluetooth 4.2, and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi for connectivity. NFC is market dependent. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and packs a 3,300mAh battery. It is available in black, silver, and red.

Galaxy J4+

The Galaxy J4+ has the same display and resolution as the Galaxy J6+. It also has the same processor but comes in 2GB RAM + 16GB and 3GB RAM + 32GB variants.

[envira-gallery id=”212495″]

The J4+ has a single camera on its rear – a 13MP f/1.9 sensor while a 5MP f/2.2 sensor is in front. It has Bluetooth 4.2 and single band Wi-Fi. NFC availability is dependent on country. It also has a 3300mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo. Available colors are black, gold, and red.

The Galaxy J6 Prime isn’t a flagship but it will be one Samsung phone to remember thanks to its design, or to be more specific – the position of its fingerprint scanner. Samsung devices have their fingerprint scanners on the front or rear of the phone but the Galaxy J6 Prime will be the first to have the scanner on the side just like some of Sony’s own phones or Meizu’s M6s.

The photos show the scanner is on the right side of the phone where you will normally find the power button or volume rocker of a lot of phones. The power button is still on the right but is now closer to the top. The volume controls sit on the left.

Samsung Mobile India has confirmed that there is indeed a Galaxy J series phone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner but the tweet doesn’t specify the model. It also confirms the phone will come with an Infinity Display. If you head to the link in the tweet, you will see the upcoming J series phones listed there are the Galaxy J6+/J6 Prime and Galaxy J4+. The website also teases some other features of the devices such as dual rear cameras, AR photos, and “vibrant bold colors”.

The rest of the dummy photos show the Galaxy J6 will have its dual cameras in the middle and vertically arranged. It will also have a 3.5mm audio jack and a MicroUSB port at the bottom.

With respect to its specs, the Galaxy J6 Prime will have a 6-inch HD+ display. The folks at SamMobile said it may be an LCD and not AMOLED panel. Powering the device is a 1.6GHz quad-core processor paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage.

Samsung will also be launching the phone in Europe but it will likely launch first in India.

These smartphones feature Infinity Display design that offers larger screen space. The Galaxy On6 that was introduced recently is available for purchase in India exclusively through online channels. The On6 is nothing but the rebranded version of J6. According to XDA Developers, the Galaxy J6+ is an upcoming phone from the company. It is speculated that the same phone may debut as On6+ in India.

The publication claims that its recognized contributors have come across firmware files for a Samsung device that is codenamed as “j6plte.” This handset is expected to debut as Galaxy J6 Plus LTE and it will be heading to CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) nations and Serbia. Since Samsung follows a pattern of rebranding its J-series smartphones as On-series phones, it is likely that the J6+ may debut as On6+.

The Galaxy J6+ will be borrowing some of its specs from the Samsung Galaxy J6 phone. Through the leaked firmware files, it has been revealed that the Galaxy J6+ will be arriving with a Super AMOLED screen of 5.6 inches. It will carry support for 18.5:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution of 1480 x 720 pixels.

The Galaxy J6 is powered by Exynos 7870 SoC. The J6+ is likely to be driven by Snapdragon 450 chipset. There is no information available on the cameras, RAM and storage models of the Galaxy J6+. It is expected to feature a microSD card and it will be preinstalled with Android Oreo. Some of the other features of the Galaxy J6+ that have surfaced through its leaked firmware files include TFA9896 audio amp, fingerprint reader and NFC. It is likely to arrive with 4,350mAh battery. However, the publication claims that the battery capacity mentioned in the firmware files may not be always accurate. At present, there is no information available on the launch of the Galaxy J6+.

The other phones such as Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ and Galaxy J6 have been readily made available for buying, but the Galaxy J8 is scheduled to hit the market in the coming month. A conflicting report claims it may release in India on June 20. The smartphone is expected to arrive in multiple markets like Russia and Thailand. Now that the Galaxy J8 that has a model number of SM-J810Y/DS has been certified by National Communications Commission (NCC) in Taiwan, it appears that the handset will be soon heading to Taiwanese market. The NCC certification has also revealed some live images of the Galaxy J8 before its official release.

Just as Samsung had released the Galaxy S7 Active in 2016 and Galaxy S8 Active in 2017, it appears that the company may launch the S9 Active phone this year. As it can be seen in the above list, there are some unknown devices. Samsung is rumored to debut a new line of smartphones that will be exclusively made available online. Hence, one of the unidentified devices could be a smartphone from the new series.

Previous reports have revealed that the “crown” codename belongs to the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. The same codename has been also found listed in the leaked Android 8.0 Oreo beta build for Note 8. Samsung China was rumored to debut Galaxy C10 and Galaxy C10 Plus smartphones in the previous year. The C10 series may debut this year with Snapdragon 660 chipset inside. The list contains multiple Galaxy J series phones, but Galaxy J5 (2018) seems to be missing. The unidentified smartphones could include the heavily rumored foldable smartphone from the company.
