Huawei is preparing to launch its P60 series in China tomorrow, on March 22nd. The event will be broadcasted live on the company’s official Weibo account at 2:30 pm local time. The live stream link and post will be shared by Huawei near the time of the launch event.

Hauwei P60 series: what to expect

The star of the show will be the Huawei P60 series smartphones. The Huawei P series smartphones are known to be the company’s flagship camera phones and are usually among the best camera phones of their generation. Therefore, it will be interesting to see what Huawei has in store for us this time around.

So far, it is said that the Huawei P60 series will feature two models: the vanilla P60 and the P60 Pro. The Pro model is rumored to feature three cameras on the back including a 50MP main camera (Sony IMX888), a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera. It is expected that the standard version of the P60 smartphone will feature two new sensors: IMX789 and IMX888. Both sensors have a 50MP resolution and are 1/1.4 inches in size. Reports suggest that the phones will come with variable apertures, similar to those found in last year’s Mate 50 Pro, as well as a 32MP front-facing camera. Additionally, both devices will incorporate XMAGE 2.0 technology.

Huawei Mate X3, MatePad 11 (2023): What to expect

On the other hand, the upcoming MatePad 11 tablet will come with an 11-inch 2560 X 1600 pixels LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate. The tablet is expected to operate on HarmonyOS 3.1 software and be powered by a 7250mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support. The processor inside will likely be a Snapdragon 870.

Huawei will use Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) technology for the displays which is expected to offer better durability and scratch resistance compared to the plastic-based foldable displays that are currently used in many foldable smartphones out there. The display is reported to be produced by China’s BOE.

The Mate X3 will also have a powerful camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel IMX766 primary sensor, an IMX688 ultra-wide lens, and an IMX351 periscope telephoto lens for long-range zooming. The camera setup is expected to produce stunning photographs, which will be further enhanced by the device’s advanced camera software. Out of the box, the device will run on HarmonyOS 3 software.

The device will have a 4800mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.

The Mate X3 will also feature satellite communication technology, which Huawei is calling “Lingxi Communication.” This feature will allow users to stay connected even in remote areas where traditional cellular networks are not available. Huawei has been barred from using 5G technology so the device will feature only the 4G variant of the chipset.

Huawei has also optimized the device’s screen and hinge to reduce its thickness and weight, bringing it closer to that of a traditional smartphone. Additionally, the device will support wireless charging and have multiple-angle hovering capabilities. Overall, the Huawei Mate X3 is shaping up to be an impressive device that delivers top-of-the-line features and cutting-edge technology.

Huawei launched its first foldable back in 2019 and is now ready to unveil its fourth generation of foldable display smartphones with the Huawei Mate X3 on March 23. The handset will share the stage with the flagship Huawei P60 series as well as several other products. Huawei has been close-lipped about the upcoming foldable but an industry expert recently revealed a few of its display specifications. Here are the details.

According to Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Huawei’s upcoming foldable, the Mate X3, will feature a display of 7.85 inches, which is 0.15 inches smaller than its predecessor, the Mate X2. However, the diagonal size of the outer cover display will remain unchanged at 6.45 inches.

Furthermore, Young revealed that the Mate X3 will be the first Huawei smartphone to incorporate Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) technology. It is touted to offer better durability and scratch resistance compared to the plastic-based foldable displays that are currently used in many foldable smartphones out there. The Mate X3’s foldable screens are reported to be produced by China’s BOE.

Previously, it has been reported that the smartphone will offer a 2K resolution and feature the aging Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood. However, the device will likely be using a 4G version of the chipset as Huawei has been barred from using 5G technology. It could pack a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.

The rear camera module of the device will likely be led by a 50MP Sony IMX766 camera, assisted by a Sony IMX688 ultra-wide lens, and an IMX351 periscope zoom camera. Huawei Mate X3 will run the company’s own HarmonyOS 3 software out of the box.

The brand has now officially confirmed that these drives will debut together on March 23 in China. The official teaser poster mentions that the P60 series and Mate X3 series launch event will commence on March 23 at 14:30 CST. Without further ado, let’s look at what’s known about these devices so far.

Huawei P60 series

The upcoming P60 models from Huawei are rumored to feature the company’s own XMAGE photography technology, with an upgrade to XMAGE 2.0. Reports suggest that the P60 Pro will include a primary 50MP Sony IMX888 sensor and a 50MP Sony IMX858 extreme wide-angle sensor, along with a third telephoto camera equipped with a 64MP OV64B Omnivision sensor and 3.5x optical zoom. Additionally, it is expected that the P60 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, while the base model may feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. These chipsets will only provide 4G connectivity due to the 5G ban on Huawei.

Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, is planning to launch its Huawei P60 series of flagship smartphones and the Huawei Mate X3 flagship foldable in March, and a recent online advertisement shown in the country has detailed that Huawei will be hosting a launch event on March 23 to unveil the brand’s latest devices.

Huawei March 27 Launch Event Advert, Source: Even if there is a westerly wind on Weibo

The advertisement was screenshotted by the Weibo user, even if there is a westerly wind, and the advert states that Huawei is holding its annual spring launch event to unveil the brand’s latest products to the country, and the highlight is its flagship Huawei P60 series.

Earlier this year, Huawei teased that the Huawei P60 series and Huawei Mate X3 foldable will be launched together in March 2023, so it is safe to say that the Huawei Mate X3 will be launched at the March 23 launch event as well.

Huawei March Launch Teaser, Source: Huawei China

Besides, the screenshot of the online advert, the prominent Chinese leakster, the factory manager is classmate Guan, also posted on Weibo saying that Huawei will be holding a launch event on March 23 to reveal its latest devices for 2023.

The leakster also quotes his previous post saying that Huawei will launch not only smartphones at the event, but also smart tech ecosystem devices as well such as the Huawei FreeBuds 5 wireless earphones, the Huawei Watch 4 smartwatch, and the Huawei Band 7 smart fitness band.

From our previous reporting, it was reported that the upcoming Huawei P60 Pro will arrive with a 6.6-inch OLED display that will produce a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1440p resolution. Packing a 5,000mAh battery, the smartphone will support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC but it will be capped to 4G only, with no 5G connectivity due to restrictions imposed on Huawei.

Huawei is reportedly working on its next foldable phone, the Huawei Mate X3, for the Chinese market. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station shared what appears to be the key specifications of the device.

According to the tipster, the Huawei Mate X3 will be a foldable phone with an inward-folding design. The outer screen will have a single punch-hole placed at the top-centre position.

On the inside, the Mate X3 will have a large foldable screen without any punch-hole. He added that it will be a thin and lightweight foldable phone. Here is a look at the first-ever render of the Mate X3 shared by tipster Rodent. The tipster revealed that there will be no camera on the inside.

Huawei has been long rumored to be working on the successor of Mate X2. The new Huawei Mate X3 was expected to debut in December 2022, but that clearly didn’t happen. While we wait for an official announcement, a Chinese tipster has revealed the foldable will launch soon with satellite connectivity onboard.

The exact launch date wasn’t revealed, but it has been claimed that the Mate X3 will arrive before the Huawei P60 Series. Leaks suggest the P60 Series will be unveiled sometime in March, so we can expect the folding device to debut in February. It seems likely because the Mate X2 was also unveiled around the same time last year.

As mentioned, the smartphone is said to support satellite connectivity, like the Mate 50 series. It will allow users to send and receive short messages using Beidou’s direct satellite network. However, unlike the Mate 50 smartphones, the device will also support voice messages.

The satellite connectivity feature is drawing a lot of manufacturers’ attention. It has been reported that Samsung will also be joining the bandwagon with the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra. The SOS communication feature will be particularly useful in situations where there’s no network reception. Yes, you may never actually need it, but it’s still good to have, just in case.

Details about the upcoming Mate X3 are pretty limited. It is expected to be a 4G-only device and could be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Reports claim the foldable will give a tough fight to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 while carrying a cheaper price tag. More information should emerge pretty soon. We’ll keep you posted.

Huawei was one of the first brands to launch a foldable smartphone in the market. The company has been rumored to be working on a next gen premium Mate X3 foldable phone, and now, its possible launch timeline has been revealed.

The news arrives from tipster Wangzai Knows Everything (Via NotebookCheck) who shared that the information on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). The company’s Mate X3 is set to launch soon and will feature a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. This means that the Chinese tech giant’s foldable phone will also have two displays, with one external and the primary display being a large inward folding panel housed on a vertical hinge.

According to the tipster, despite having a same design, the Huawei foldable phone will cost significantly less than its South Korean counterpart. From what we know so far, the Mate X3 is believed to feature a 4G only Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Although finer details regarding this device is still at large. Based on a previous report, Huawei was expected to launch the Mate X3 sometime in December 2022. However, the latest leak hints at a later launch.

The Mate X2 model was released back in February 2021, so it is clear that a successor is already long due. The latest leak hints at the Mate X3 being announced sometime in the first half of next year. So we can expect it to be launched in early 2023. Depending on its price tag, it might a great contender in the Chinese foldable smartphone market.

Now, the brand is reportedly working on its sixth foldable phone, the Mate X3. A Chinese tipster has shared key details on the company’s upcoming foldable phone along with its launch timeframe.

According to the tipster, Huawei is planning to launch two devices in December 2022. These include the Huawei Mate X3 foldable phone and the Freebuds 5 semi-in-ear headphones.

The tipster claimed that the Huawei Mate X3 would carry a lower price tag. At the same time, it will be a lightweight and thinner device. It will offer better durability as well as drop resistance. The foldable phone will be equipped with a new hinge, and the screen crease will not be visible.

Huawei Mate X2 4G

So, does it support 5G? Unfortunately, the Mate X3 will be a 4G device. The specifications of the device are under wraps. The same tipster had claimed in June that the Mate X3’s would continue to sport an inward-folding design like the Mate X2.

Huawei Mate Xs 2 specifications

The Huawei Mate Xs 2 sports an outward folding design. It features a 7.8-inch foldable OLED display that supports 2200 x 2480 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The device runs on HarmonyOS 2.0 and is powered by Snapdragon 888 4G chip. The device comes with up to 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB / 512 GB of built-in storage.

The Mate Xs 2 has a 10.7-megapixel front-facing camera. Its back panel has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree FOV, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. It has a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.

A couple of Chinese leakers and tipster Teme have claimed that the Mate X3 will debut in the second half of this month (April) in China. Fresh information reveals that the foldable phone may arrive in multiple CPU variants.

Previous reports have claimed that the Huawei Mate X3 will be powered by the Kirin 9000 4G chipset. However, Chinese tipster Wangzai has claimed that the Mate X3 will also come in a Snapdragon 888 4G edition.

Huawei Mate X

While a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 edition of the Mate X3 has been tipped, it is unclear whether it will be announced. Some leaks have claimed that the foldable device may arrive with an outward folding design like the origin Huawei Mate X foldable phone. So far, reports have revealed that the Mate X3 will be equipped with Harmony OS 2.0.1 and a 4,500mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.

The Mate X3 is expected to carry support for a 120Hz refresh rate and arrive with an improved hinge design. It is likely to arrive with a new spectrum camera system. The Mate X3 name is yet to be confirmed. Hence, there is a possibility that Huawei’s next flagship phone which is expected to launch this month may carry a different moniker.

In related news, Huawei is said to be working on the Mate 50 series of flagship phones. According to tipster Wangzai, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G will be first seen on the upcoming Mate series smartphone. However, he did not share any information on the Mate 50 lineup.

The Huawei Mate X3 was recently spotted on TENAA, revealing some of the key details related to the smartphone. It features a 6.5-inch OLED cover display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an 8-inch OLED foldable screen with a 90Hz refresh rate support.

Under the hood, the device is said to be powered by the company’s own Kirin 9000 SoC and is likely to be a 4G-only smartphone, similar to several other recently launched smartphones from Huawei because of the US sanctions.

In the camera department, the phone is expected to have a quad-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor. On the front side, the device is likely to have a 16-megapixel snapper for taking selfies and video calling.

As for the operating system, the Mate X3 will come running the HarmonyOS 2.0.1 (HongMeng OS in China). It will be powered by a 4,500mAh battery and will support 55W fast charging technology.

Huawei was actually the first Chinese company to launch a foldable phone in the form of the Mate X, and it now looks like it’s going to refresh the device with a newer iteration this year.

A few companies like Jingyan Technology are reportedly gaining component orders for an upcoming foldable phone from Huawei, which a tipster today has revealed is most likely none other than the Huawei Mate X3. The device will most likely be launched later this year.

The Huawei Mate X2 was launched early last year with an 8-inch 90Hz OLED foldable inner screen and a 6.45-inch 90Hz OLED outer screen. It is powered by the Kirin 9000 5G chip in China and comes with a quad-camera setup, topped by a 50MP snapper. The battery is sized 4,500mAh with support for 55W fast charging.

Another special edition of the phone was then launched later last year called Mate X2 Collector’s Edition, costing a hefty 18,999 Yuan (around $3,000).

The Huawei Mate X3 will most likely sport a form factor very similar to its predecessor but should come with a number of improvements. The OPPO Find N proves that creases can nearly be done away with already, so expect the Mate X3 to pull off something similar.

Now, the China-based technology giant is gearing up to launch a new foldable smartphone in the market.

Now, the Chinese company is expected to launch its successor and a new report coming from Digital Chat Station claims that Huawei is expected to follow its usual timeframe of launching a new Mate X-series foldable smartphone in the month of February.

Thus, the next-generation foldable device from the company will be launched in the month of February next year, most probably along with the flagship Mate 50 series phones which have already been delayed.

Further, the report adds that the company is currently testing the under-display fingerprint sensor and the OLED screen for the next generation of foldable smartphones. The phone is expected to come with a POL-LESS OLED technology which is developed by Samsung Display, which could increase the brightness by 20 percent to 30 percent.

If the rumors are to be believed, then Huawei is working on another foldable smartphone that will come with a clamshell design, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3. The phone, which could be named Huawei Mate V, is said to come powered by the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chipset and will be a 4G model.

The Huawei Mate V (name not yet confirmed) with a clamshell-like foldable design is expected to get launched by the end of this year. The device, when launched, will compete against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series.

Apart from Huawei, there are a few other China-based manufacturers working on their own foldable smartphones that were rumored to go official this year, including brands like OPPO and Vivo. Xiaomi, which has already launched its first foldable smartphone, is expected to launch a new model.
