The company has disclosed that its flagship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/07/26/meizu-pro-7-meizu-pro-7-plus-now-official-dual-cameras-dual-displays-fast-charge/">Meizu Pro 7</a> has won the popular German iF Product Design award for its innovative design. What a marvellous way to usher in the Chinese New year!<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/meizu-pro-7.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-144946" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/meizu-pro-7.png?x44794" alt="meizu pro 7" width="539" height="503" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/meizu-pro-7.png 539w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/meizu-pro-7-300x280.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 539px) 100vw, 539px" /></a></p>
<p>The iF Product Design Award was introduced in 1954 and is annually conferred by the iF International Forum Design. The award, which spans multiple disciplines, has more than 5,500 entries from around 59 nations every year. The Pro 7 stood out among the pack of over 6,400 entries submitted by<span style="font-weight: 400"> contestants from 54 countries around the world to claim the award in the smartphone design category. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Meizu-Pro-7-feature-e1502640267684.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-144810" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Meizu-Pro-7-feature-e1502640267684.png?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7 feature" width="625" height="508" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Meizu-Pro-7-feature-e1502640267684.png 760w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Meizu-Pro-7-feature-e1502640267684-300x244.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 625px) 100vw, 625px" /></a></span></p>
<p>The award really doesn&#8217;t come as a surprise because the Pro 7 is known for its spectacular design style which looks absolutely different from Meizu&#8217;s past works. The Meizu Pro 7 design was done by Frog design, a multinational design company with its roots being Germany. The design saw the flagship Pro 7 packing a dual-screen setup both at the front and rear aspects. The main display is a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with a FullHD resolution of 1920 x 1080pixels while the Pro 7 Plus packs a 5.7-inch display. The device also comes with a secondary screen at the back which is a 1.9-inch AMOLED display located on the left side of the rear panel and which displays some notifications as well as run a few apps. The Meizu Pro 7 features a MediaTek Helio X30 chip as well as Helio P25 on some models.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Official-Red.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-142466" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Official-Red-1024x431.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7 Official Red" width="640" height="269" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Official-Red-1024x431.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Official-Red-300x126.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Official-Red-768x323.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Official-Red.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong>Related: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/23/meizu-pro-7-red-new-year-special-edition-special-gift-bag-sale-jan-24-1999-yuan/">Meizu Pro 7 Red New Year Edition With A Special Gift Bag Goes On Sale Jan. 24 For 1,999 Yuan (~$312)</a></strong></p>
<p>Another superb feature is the rear dual camera setup which the device packs and it is fused into the secondary display in a unique manner. In addition, the device runs on the Flyme 6 OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat and is fueled by a 3000mAh battery with mCharge 3.0. The Pro 7 is competitively priced, as it starts at 2880 Yuan (∼$426) for the base variant powered by Helio P25 and 3380 Yuan (∼$500) for the Helio  X30 version. These prices have obviously seen some reduction since its first launch. The Pro 7&#8217;s special New Year edition which was unveiled in January came in at just 1,999 Yuan (~$312). <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/meizu-pro-7.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-173763" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/meizu-pro-7-640x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7 design iF award" width="640" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/meizu-pro-7-640x1024.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/meizu-pro-7-188x300.jpg 188w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/meizu-pro-7.jpg 690w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>

<p>This recent post has been Meizu’s effort to share the limelight of the Pro 7’s secondary display and raise the hype of the device’s camera also.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-141577 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Camera-Sample-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7 Camera Sample" width="690" height="519" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Camera-Sample-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Camera-Sample-2-300x226.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Meizu-Pro-7-Camera-Sample-2-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The post consists of four photo sample teasers, three of which are taken in monochrome and the other is in color. According to the source, this suggests that the Meizu Pro 7 will have a dual camera setup with an RGB-color sensor paired with a monochrome sensor to provide high-contrast results.</p>
<p>The images all show scenarios that provide difficult lighting conditions with very promising results.</p>
<p>The disappointing factor is no EXIF info is provided with the images thus there is no further detailing of the cameras, all we do know is the pictures have been taken with a 12-megapixel camera, according to the source.</p>
<p>In relation to photography, we also know that the secondary display will function as a control to take selfies with the main camera.</p>
<p>More details would be expected to be unveiled closer to the official announcement on July 26.</p>

The rear display seems to be the biggest highlight of the Pro 7 but some may say it is the Helio X30 chip it is expected to feature.  Well, looks like the Pro 7 will not be having an Helio X30 chip only as new detail has emerged that the Meizu Pro 7 Plus will feature a Samsung Exynos 8895 chip.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/MEIZU_PRO7-08-1024x580.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-139869" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/MEIZU_PRO7-08-1024x580.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7 Plus" width="1024" height="580" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/MEIZU_PRO7-08-1024x580.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/MEIZU_PRO7-08-1024x580-300x170.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/MEIZU_PRO7-08-1024x580-768x435.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu has always been known to use Exynos chips on its smartphones, the last to feature that was the Meizu Pro 6 Plus which uses an Exynos 8890 chip but that was like a year after Samsung released the flagship chip. But in this case, the Pro 7 Plus is said to feature the Exynos 8895 a couple of months after it was released. The information is credited to have been revealed by a Meizu store employee. The details include that there are two versions of the Pro 7, one with a secondary display and another version without a secondary display, both powered by Helio X30. The Meizu Pro 7 Plus, on the other hand, will have a secondary display and will be powered by the latest Exynos 8895 as stated earlier.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/17/exynos-8895-benchmark-score-spotted-see-compares-kirin-960-sd-835-kirin-8890/">Exynos 8895 Benchmark Score Spotted: See How it Compares with Kirin 960, SD 835 &amp; Exynos 8890</a></strong></p>
<p>The use of an Exynos 8895 chip on the Pro 7 Plus sounds interesting, considering that the Exynos 8890 onboard the Pro 6 Plus did not come with full network support but the Exynos 8895 comes with it. This disclosure, if true, will surely further spur up the level of interests in the upcoming flagship.</p>

The Meizu Pro 7, as we already know, will feature two displays, a large 5.2-inch display at the front while there will be a 2-inch display at the rear. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-1.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-140520" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-1.png?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7" width="593" height="278" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-1.png 593w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-1-300x141.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 593px) 100vw, 593px" /></a></p>
<p>The idea of a smartphone packing two displays on both sides is innovative enough to generate some interest in the upcoming flagship. The secondary display was initially thought to be an e-ink display which would display missed calls/sms notifications, time/ date and a couple of other icons. But now, it looks like the Pro 7&#8217;s display has much more functions than those. The leaked photos show that the back screen will have Meizu&#8217; Flyme interface with similar icons on the main display&#8217;s home screen.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-140518" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7" width="690" height="930" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/meizu-pro-7-2-223x300.jpg 223w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>The MeizuPro 7 is turning out to be more interesting than we thought. Apart from the dual screens, the Pro 7 will be the first Meizu smartphone to pack a dual camera setup at the rear. The photo also shows the main camera can be used to take selfie shots while it is being previewed on the secondary display. In essence, the rear screen looks like a miniaturised version of the front screen but sure, there can&#8217;t be exactly the same functionalities on both displays. The secondary display looks good for one handed control but that will only be comfortable with the left hand.</p>

<p>In addition to these features, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/07/10/meizu-pro-7-renders-leaked/">MediaTek has already confirmed that the Pro 7 will be the first Helio X30-powered smartphone.</a> As per the configuration, the Pro 7 will feature a 5.2-inch 1080p display and would have a 4GB + 64GB memory version and another with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.   The Pro 7 is also expected to start at 2799 Yuan (~$410) and is expected to be launched at the end of this month.</p>

While we may still be sceptical about that date, a new leak from a popular tech blogger on Weibo has restated that the Pro 7 will indeed be launched along with the Pro 7 Plus on July 26. The tipster claims the rumour has over 95% accuracy, meaning the Pro 7 may actually make its debut towards the end of next month.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-launch.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-138726" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-launch.png?x44794" alt="meizu pro 7" width="605" height="164" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-launch.png 605w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-launch-300x81.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px" /></a></p>
<p>Already we have seen the<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/27/meizu-pro-7-real-live-photo-e-ink-helio-x30/"> real renders of the Pro 7</a> revealing both the front and the rear design, including the secondary e-ink display located at the rear. The flagship model is expected to feature a well-studded specs lineup in addition to the nice design it has been revealed to come with. Among the rumoured specification is an Helio X30 chip, a 5.5-inch display, mBack home button and fast charging technology. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-12.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-138727" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-12.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7" width="600" height="398" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-12.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-12-300x199.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>

<p>The Meizu Pro 7 is expected to feature a dual camera setup which is tipped to be composed of a Sony IMX386 main sensor and a Sony IMX286 secondary sensor. This would make the Pro 7 Meizu&#8217;s first dual camera phone. There are rumours of an Exynos 8895-powered version coming also. Other specs include a 16MP front camera, 3.5mm audio jack as well as a USB Type-C port and more. Meizu will offload the full package next month, that is if the rumours of a July 26 launch turns out to be true. Nothing has officially been revealed in that regard as at this moment so don&#8217;t get your expectation too high.</p>

The leak also says the Pro 7 may likely go on sale on August 4 after the July 26 launch event.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-2-1.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-138161" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-2-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7" width="600" height="380" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-2-1.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-2-1-300x190.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Meizu Pro 7 is the company&#8217;s flagship for this year and the device is expected to come with a spectacular design which has already been exposed and a powerful specs lineup. The device will be launched alongside the Pro 7 Plus with a bigger display. The prices of both the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus have now leaked and they are perhaps more than you&#8217;d expect. The Pro 7 will retail for 2799 Yuan (~$409) for the base model while the higher version will carry a price tag of 3299 Yuan (around $484).  On the other hand, the Meizu Pro 7 Plus will start at 3299 yuan (~$484) while the higher version will sell for 3799 yuan (~$555). The prices are ridiclously high such that these are too bad instead of too good to be true.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-5.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-138160" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-5.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 7" width="630" height="767" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-5.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/meizu-pro-7-5-246x300.jpg 246w" sizes="(max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px" /></a></p>

<p>In addition, the latest rumored specs of the Pro 7 tips the device as packing a 5.5-inch display as against 5.2 inches on previous leakes. However, the new leak also tips the Pro 7 as coming with a MeidaTek Helio X30 chip. and a dual Sony IMX386 + IMX286 dual cameras among others. But we still don&#8217;t know if the product with a Exynos 8895 version but there are rumours it does. Other specs include a 16MP front camera, 3.5mm audio jack as well as a USB Type-C port. The device is also expected to come with Meizu&#8217;s trademark mBack home button and its fast charging technology. We won&#8217;t forget in a hurry the e-ink secondary display the Pro 7 is said to come with which would be located at the rear and would show notifcations as well as display time, date etc.</p>

Just after the rumor that the Pro 7 would likely come <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/14/meizu-pro-7-flagship-rumored-feature-huawei-kirin-960-chip/">packing Huawei&#8217;s latest Kirin 960 chipset</a>, a set of renders of what is said to be the Meizu Pro 7&#8217;s.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept/" rel="attachment wp-att-106796"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106796" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 7" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>Well for the avidance of doubt, these set of renders are not known if they are those of the official Pro 7, but they seem to be those of a fan-generated concept design. We still don&#8217;t know for sure what the real Meizu pro 7 looks like and we are not even certain if the flagship would actually look anything similar to these renders.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept3/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106798" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept3.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 7" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept3.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept3-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept3-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The design looks quite similar to that of the Xiaomi Mix, using a design pattern that consists of the front being entirely the display. There is no physical button on the front but looks like there are capacitive keys at the sides. The device is said to be 5.62 inches in size, with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels (2 : 1). Also, the front-facing camera is hidden and there is an on-screen fingerprint recognition technology, powered by Sonavation.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-2-6/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106813" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-2-1.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-2" width="690" height="293" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-2-1.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-2-1-300x127.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The back part of the device is said to be made of metal and comes as a flat design. There are also antenna bands at the upper and lower edges running on a horizontal plane. The device also seem to feature a round flash lying under the rear camera.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept4/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106799" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept4.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-concept4" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept4.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept4-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept4-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept5/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106800" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept5.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-concept5" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept5.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept5-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept5-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept6/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106801" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept6.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-concept6" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept6.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept6-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept6-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept7/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106802" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept7.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-concept7" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept7.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept7-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept7-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept8/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106803" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept8.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-concept8" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept8.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept8-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept8-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-concept9/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106804" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept9.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-concept9" width="1024" height="436" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept9.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept9-300x128.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-concept9-768x327.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>

We then got wind of the rumor that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/13/meizu-bezel-less-phone-might-be-meizu-pro-7/">bezel-less phone might be the Meizu Pro 7</a> which had been making the rounds in the news for a while now.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-7-kirin960/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106793" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-kirin960.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 7" width="2048" height="683" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-kirin960.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-kirin960-300x100.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-kirin960-768x256.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/meizu-pro-7-kirin960-1024x342.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></a></p>
<p>The latest rumor on this is that the expected Meizu Pro 7 might use an Hisilicon Kirin 960 chip, Huawei&#8217;s latest. The Kirin 960 has only been used on the Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Porsche Design and Mate 9 Pro, all part of the Mate 9 series.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/11/13/meizu-bezel-less-phone-might-be-meizu-pro-7/meizu-pro-7-10/" rel="attachment wp-att-106594"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-106594" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Meizu-Pro-7-10.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-10" width="745" height="329" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Meizu-Pro-7-10.jpg 745w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Meizu-Pro-7-10-300x132.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 745px) 100vw, 745px" /></a></p>
<p>Now the Meizu Pro 7 is expected as Meizu&#8217;s next generation flagship and it wouldn&#8217;t be a bad idea if the device is powered by the Kirin 960. Meizu doesn&#8217;t use Qualcomm chips nor Samsung&#8217;s on its devices but rather had consistently stuck with MediaTek chipset. A shift to Kirin would infuse a breath of freshness into the flagship device.</p>

<p>Huawei did reveal that it is ready to sell the Kirin 960 chips to other phone manufacturers. However, it is unlikely that such a scenario would be possible presently. According to the vice-President of Huawei phones, Huawei is very busy at present selling its latest products that there might not be time to do other work aside selling.</p>

The company is still expected to release a Pro 7 flagship, which aside some great specs, would boast of a different and unique design. There are rumors that the major changes on the Pro 7&#8217;s design would be in the back.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-97079 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-pro-7-weibo.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-weibo" width="610" height="446" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-pro-7-weibo.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-pro-7-weibo-300x219.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>A recent Weibo post by a purported Meizu staff talked about testing the expected Meizu flagship. The staff also revealed that the back of the device will be without very prominent external antenna band. A recent leak also suggests<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/06/oppo-r9s-coming-september-12/"> OPPO is also adopting a similar design</a> without antenna band.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-97080 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-pro-7-weibo-2.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu-pro-7-weibo-2" width="610" height="692" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-pro-7-weibo-2.jpg 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-pro-7-weibo-2-264x300.jpg 264w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>The Meizu Pro 7 is also expected to come equipped with a Samsung Exynos 8890 chipset, wit 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. In addition, the device is rumored to come with a 2K screen and on the camera end, there&#8217;ll be a 12MP rear camera and 5MP sensor up front.</p>

However, after this event, the company reportedly has another event scheduled on September 13, where we expect the <strong>Meizu Pro 7 flagship</strong> to be unveiled. The company is said to go back to Samsung&#8217;s Exynos series, this time, Exynos 8890 for the Pro 7 flagship. Now, the latest information from China reveals that alongside the new flagship phone, the company could also release its Flyme 6 OS.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-55899" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1.png?x44794" alt="Meizu-flyme-5.0" width="535" height="535" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1.png 535w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/Meizu-working-on-Lollipop-update_1-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 535px) 100vw, 535px" /></a></p>
<p>It&#8217;s been almost a year since Flyme 5 was announced, so it&#8217;s about time we saw the next version of the Flyme UI. In case you are wondering, there is a possibility that the Pro 7 won&#8217;t come with Flyme 6 UI pre-installed, since last year, we saw that the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/09/17/meizu-pro-5-wont-come-with-flyme-5-os-at-launch/">Flyme 5 OS was announced alongside the Pro 5 flagship</a> but was only <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/11/15/meizu-pro-5-receives-flyme-5-beta-update-finally/">available for the device after a few months</a>.</p>

<p>As for the Pro 7, unlike the Pro 6 which came with only enough specs to be considered as a flagship device, i<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/21/meizu-pro-7-two-versions-curved-flat-displays/">t is expected to come with</a> power packed features such as Exynos 8890, 4GB / 6GB RAM variants, curved display and 12MP rear camera.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-88599" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 7 leak" width="640" height="363" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/meizu-pro-7-leak-300x170.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>The pricing of the device was also leaked before. It is said that the Pro 7 with 4GB RAM would cost 2799 Yuan ($420) and the one with 6GB RAM would cost 3099 Yuan ($465). Of course, as of now, we can&#8217;t be sure of the pricing, but expect more details in the coming days.</p>
