I uses BLDC motor and ensures effective cleaning even with cold water

As you can see from the image above, the washing machine comes with a circular rotating knob. The body adopts an 8-layer composite structure and uses PCM steel plates. It is claimed that the washing machine can prevent erosion and rusting due to moisture.

It uses a BLDC variable frequency motor, has a 10KG capacity, and comes with a 535mm barrel diameter. It also equips an upgraded multi-dimensional structural support that provides better shock absorption and enhances the stability of the machine body. According to the company, the machine can stay “as stable as a rock” even in high-speed washing mode.

Speaking of the cleaning process, this product uses UFB ultra-fine bubble technology, which according to a company official, can generate billions of microbubbles. The machine removes stubborn stains through bubble explosion and uses silver ions for secondary sterilization. It is reported that the machine offers an effective cleaning even with cold water.

The newly upgraded inner drum and front drum structure is reportedly designed to simulate an environment with sufficient cleaning force to remove dirt all while not damaging the delicate fibers, which ensures a longer life for the cloths. This product is also reportedly designed to remove pet hairs from clothing.

This machine automatically senses the weight and water volume of the inner drum and intelligently measures the amount that needs to be used. You can also control the cleaning process for different types of clothing from the smartphone app.

The 2700NF TV uses Mini LED technology with the number of partition backlights of the biggest model given as 1,024. The number of partition backlights for the other models has not been specified. The Toshiba 2700NF TV achieves a stable peak brightness of 1,300 nits, which is quite impressive. The TV is equipped with the REGZA Picture Engine Pro, in addition to the TV’s original color calibration technology. The system helps to accurately adjust image details, color, and contrast optimally.

The Toshiba 2700NF TV has a factory color calibration (Delta E) of 0.99 and a DCI-P3 color gamut coverage of 95%.
The 2700NF can maintain the original frame rate, contrast, aspect ratio, and other parameters when in the filmmaker mode. It also supports Frame Picture MAX, NFS, and direct viewing through TV.

Pricing & Availability

The Toshiba 2700NF TV is available at a starting price of 8,499 yuan ($1,174) for the 65-inch model.
Toshiba is breaking new ground in the realm of wireless power supply systems with the utilization of microwaves to transmit electricity over considerable distances. While conventional technologies often face challenges with interference from surrounding radio waves, Toshiba’s innovation claims to overcome these issues, offering precise control over power supply.

Toshiba’s wireless power supply system uses microwaves for remote energy transmission

The Japanese tech giant envisions commercializing this groundbreaking technology after 2025, opening doors to a future where sensors and cameras can be powered without relying on conventional batteries.

One notable aspect of Toshiba’s wireless power supply system lies in its ability to detect Wi-Fi signals, and sending a microwave beam in that direction. What sets Toshiba’s technology apart is its claim to be the sole system globally capable of seamlessly coexisting with both wireless LAN and power supply system radio waves. It mitigates the concerns related to radio interference that have plagued similar technologies.

To enhance versatility, Toshiba plans to optimize its equipment for efficient radio wave reception from any location. The miniaturized power supply system is designed for easy installation on ceilings, promising a streamlined integration process.

Toshiba’s official demo pictures reveal impressive capabilities of the microwave remote power supply system. It boasts the ability to deliver 100mW of power at a distance of 3m and still provides a notable 1mW at a distance of 10m. It goes to show the system’s future potential to offer practical power solutions for various applications, especially in industrial settings where reliable and wireless power is crucial for powering various devices.

It also features an in-house Wide Color Gamut technology providing depth and sharpness of the images.

The release of the Toshiba TV M550K comes on the heels of a very strong sales performance of the Toshiba M550 series of Fire TVs. A 196% jump in sales year on year (YoY) was recorded recently for the M550 series.

Toshiba is yet to release the pricing details for the M550K. The release date and other availability details are also pending at this time. There are also several details of the M550K that are still lacking. The company has not specified the backlight type featured in the TV. However, Toshiba says the M550K’s 4K display significantly outshines any conventional LED panels in the market.

With its new 300 millimeter site, the company is aiming on more than doubling its existing capacity.

The construction of the new semiconductor production site will be located in the Ishikawa Prefecture in Japan. This site will begin construction in Spring 2023 and is expected to be completed by the same season in the following year. The Japan based company added that the new site will enable its semiconductor manufacturing to rise by around 2.5 times compared to its 2021 capacity. The brand stated that the new fab will also feature a “quake absorbing” structure as well as dual power supply lines, artificial intelligence, and automated wafer transportation systems.

Furthermore, the plans for the new facility arrives amid an ongoing semiconductor shortage that has impacted various industries across the globe. One of these segments include automobiles, with carmakers struggling due to the chip shortage. Toshiba claimed that it had managed to meet the growing demand for chipsets by increasing the production on its 200 millimeter sites.

The company said that “Going forward, Toshiba will expand its power semiconductor business and boost competitiveness by timely investments and research and development that will allow it to respond to fast growing demand, and to contribute to a low energy society and carbon neutrality.”

Japan-based companies, which supplies chips to the Chinese giant, are now scrambling to replace Huawei, facing the risk of losing billions of dollars in revenue.

The ban isn’t hitting only the Japanese companies but has also made the situation worse for companies in South Korea and others. In the latest sanctions, the U.S. has banned all exports to Huawei for semiconductors made with American technology.

As per the data revealed by research firm Omdia, Japanese companies supplied parts worth around $10.4 billion to Huawei last year. Because of the ban, Sony trimmed its capital spending plan for three years, as there’s now a gap of billions of dollars in sales from supplying image sensors to Huawei.

Sony is reportedly planning to apply for a license with the United States to continue doing business with Huawei. To replace Huawei, the Japanese company could sell its sensors to Apple and other Chinese companies. It is also looking to expand beyond mobile phones and develop sensors for a broader range of applications.

EDITOR’S PICK: SMIC applies for a licence with the US to continue supplying chipsets to Huawei

Similarly, Renesas Electronics has now stopped supplying semiconductors for 5G network base stations to Huawei. Toshiba-backed Kioxia has also suspended shipments of flash memory, following the same route as Mitsubishi Electric.

Chinese giant Huawei has already stockpiled necessary components that should help the company continue operating normally at least for a few months. But the company’s production ability will take a hit after some time, as it starts running out of components. It remains to be seen what the company has planned to keep its business afloat.

Whereas, second and third positions were held by Sony and LG with 12% and 8% market share respectively.

Further, Hisense, TCL, and Amazon tied at fourth position with 5% market share each, followed by Nintendo and Microsoft at fifth position with 4%.

Interestingly, in sixth place with 3%, there were a total of seven brands such as Skyworth, Google, Vizio, Sharp, Roku, Philips, and Xiaomi. Also, with 2% in seventh place, there were four brands like Apple, Changhong, Panasonic, and Konka.

Whereas, the ninth position was captured by Haier, Toshiba, and Insignia with a 1% share. The remaining 9% was held by others category, which includes brands with negligible market share.

EDITOR’S PICK: Samsung to raise smartphone shipments to 300 million units in 2021, as Huawei shipments decline

Streaming Platforms

Talking about streaming platforms, once again, Samsung lead in these 27 markets with 11% share with its Tizen OS. But the second position was held by platforms of both LG and Sony namely WebOS and Sony Playstation with 7% share each.

Roku TV OS and Fire OS tied at third position with 5% market share, followed by Android TV and Microsoft Xbox in the fourth place with 4% share.

Google Chromecast came at fifth position with 3% share while Apple tvOS and Firefox OS clashed with each other in the sixth place with 2% market share. The remaining 49% was occupied by platforms in the others category.

Takeaways

One thing is obvious from this report that the leading streaming device manufacturers also top the chart in streaming platforms if they have any. Also, a plethora of TV manufacturers gained some share in the devices category. Most of them use Android TV but still, Google’s streaming platform only accounted for 4%.

Anyway, this report only includes data from 27 major countries. Even though, the number of active devices in these regions is an astonishing figure at 1.14 billion.

The company has sold its remaining 19.9 percent stake in Dynabook laptop brand to Sharp.

It’s noteworthy that a couple of years ago, in 2018, the company had sold 80.1 percent of its PC business to Sharp for $36 million. Soon after that, Sharp renamed the business to Dynabook. It is being reported that Sharp exercised right to buy the remaining 19.1 percent stake in June and the deal was closed in August.

Toshiba was a global player and a pioneer in the PC industry. The company was also among the first to introduce commercially available laptops in the 1980s. The company was thriving with its Satellite, Portégé, and Qosmio lines of laptops.

However, with the shrinking PC market share worldwide and misaligned focus on features, the company was finding it difficult to survive. The competition has also increased in the sector with the likes of HP and Dell ruling the market.

Once among the leaders in the laptop market, Toshiba’s share of the PC market when it sold its stake to Sharp had gone down significantly. The company sold 17.7 million PCs in 2011 while in 2017, the numbers were down to just 1.4 million units.

According to the report from Garter, HP is currently the leading PC maker in the U.S. with about 33 percent market share, followed by Dell having a market share of 26 percent. Globally, in Q2 2020, Lenovo took the lead with a 25 percent market share while HP stands second with a 24.9 percent market share.

The post says the device will have 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB models. It also reveals the suppliers for the flash storage. Long time Apple supplier Toshiba, will produce the 64GB and 256GB flash storage along with SanDisk. For the 512GB flash storage, rival and business partner Samsung, will supply it alongside Hynix.

A previous post by the same user says that the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 will have new storage variants. Although there is no confirmation yet about the above storage variants but even if true, some like the 512GB version might be limited to the iPhone 8 only.

Just know that the new storage will also translate to a higher price. But this is an iPhone we are talking about, so it would sell.

Do you think 512GB is overkill for a phone? How much will you be willing to pay for a 512GB phone?

Today we get to see live images of a prototype leaked by @kev6n on Baidu. The model is unknown but the type is RX-100 and its running a developer preview of Windows Phone 8.

The screen is an AMOLED display and seems to be around 3-inches and there is 2GB of RAM on board. A system info page also shows the Nokia RX-100 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8968 chip and the main camera sensor is a Toshiba Lada TCM8615MD.

Design wise, the Nokia RX-100 doesn’t look attractive. The bezels are huge just like the old Nokia feature phones. There are capacitive buttons below the display and the keyboard holds 39 keys. An image of the back shows that the RX-100 is a prototype device made in Finland. You can also clearly see the words “NOT FOR SALE” written on it.

Toshiba’s chip division includes its lucrative NAND memory business, which generated 15% of the group’s 5.7 trillion yen annual revenue (~$50 billion). The memory business has an estimated value of about 1.5 trillion yen (about $13 billion).

Since then, the media have been awash with names of potential buyers especially those who have expressed interest in purchasing the business. Big names like Apple, Amazon, Broadcom, SK Hynix, Western Digital and Foxconn had earlier been mentioned in reports as interested in snapping up a deal with Toshiba for the lucrative flash memory business. A new report said to be from The Investor claims that tech giant Google is also interested in buying the NAND flash memory business.

According to the report, Google and Amazon are interested in adding the NAND flash memory business to their portfolio because of it gives them the ability to make their own data servers. Already, both Amazon and Google are buying up massive volumes of data servers and buying the memory business cold potentially save them money. Also, they could still keep the business running and in turn bring in more revenues to their coffers when they supply third-party device manufacturers with components.

Apple currently buys large volumes of memory chips for its iPhone handsets from both Toshiba and Samsung so, its reason for wanting in on the business is not far fetched. But Western Digital which currently runs Toshiba’s main memory production facility in Yokaichi, Japan is tipped to be the likely buyer of the unit.

The Toshiba Flash memory was developed by the company back in 1984, ushering the industry into the next generation in data storage method. Today, the NAND Flash Memories have evolved into an immense range of applications that include Memory Cards, Solid-State Drives (SSDs), and even industrial equipment. Despite the lucrative nature of the business, Toshiba’s investors have approved its sales in order to help the conglomerate out of its financial troubles caused by its ailing nuclear business in the U.S.

The list of interested bidders are pretty impressive. Big names like Apple, Microsoft, Foxconn, and TSMC are all interested.

The report comes from Japanese stock market index Nikkei, which says Toshiba is asking bidders to value its operations at about 2 trillion yen ($17.6 billion) and make at least a 50% investment.

Initially, Toshiba’s plan was to limit the stake to 20% or less, allowing it to retain control. But it must have changed its mind due to its financial woes. Last year the company recorded a profit of 110 billion yen ($973.5 million) during a physical year that ended in March.

Fast forward to February 14, and Toshiba announced that its net worth would drop to 150 billion yen ($1.3 billion) without swift action. The cause is said to be related to an accountancy scandal and losses from its nuclear operations.

Toshiba is the largest supplier of flash memory to Apple. If Apple invests in the company, it will be to its own advantage as memory shipment prices can be kept low.

Other bidders interested in investing in Toshiba include Western Digital, Micron Technology, and SK Hynix.

If the rumours are to be believed, the iPhone 7s (sevens) will come with 32GB storage on the base models.

However, it seems the company is raising the maximum storage available on an iPhone. An image of a leaked assembly sheet posted by twitter account, @the_malignant shows that there will be a 256GB version of the iPhone 7.

The spec sheet shows that the 256GB NAND chips will be supplied by Toshiba and confirms that there will be 32GB and 128GB versions (no 64GB) which will be supplied by an unnamed manufacturer.

While @the_malignant has leaked details for other phones that did turn out to be true, there is still no evidence that the assembly sheet is for Apple. Experts say the PCB format does follow Apple’s guidance, but it is also similar to that of other Foxconn clients.

RELATED: New 4K Video Showing iPhone 7 and 7 Plus Leaked

More Money

Earlier rumours say the 32GB base versions of the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will be 5288 Yuan ($794) and 6088 Yuan ($914) respectively. We can assume the 128 GB and 256GB version will sell for much higher prices based on the price of the 128GB iPhone 6s which sells for 6888 Yuan ($1035) and the 128GB iPhone 6s Plus which sells for 7788 Yuan ($1170.12)

New Name?

Earlier this week, images of phone boxes with the name ”iPhone 6 SE” were also leaked online. Rumours are saying the phone known as the iPhone 7 is the iPhone 6 SE and the dual camera version will ditch the ”Plus” or ”Pro” and go by just iPhone 7.

These are all rumours, so try to take them with a pinch of salt.
