Xiaomi 14 Ultra grabs EEC Certification along with a new Redmi Smartphone

Xiaomi is all set to unveil the Xiaomi 14 series in China consisting of Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. It is highly likely that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra would join them later. However, a recent EEC listing does confirm its global launch later this year or early next year. The device is already been spotted on the IMEI database.

Must See: Xiaomi 14 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 spotted on Geekbench before launch

The device with model code 24030PN60G appeared on the Eurasian Economic Commission. As per the model code, the first two digits denote the Year 2024; ‘ 03’ confirms March month, and the ‘G’ indicates it is a global variant. Other details about the device are yet under wraps, and the EEC listing hardly confirms anything about the device’s specifications.

As of now, there’s no indication that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra could launch in China, as only the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are actively teased by the company.

Along with the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, a new Redmi smartphone with model code 23129RN51X appeared on the EEC. It is expected to be the Redmi 13C.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and could feature up to 16GB RAM support. It could launch in three different storage variants – 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Like the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro which are launching with the HyperOS, the Ultra variant will ship with the new OS Skin.

All eyes are today set on the Xiaomi 14 launch and the new HyperOS software.

Samsung Galaxy A15 will feature an OLED display: Report

We recently reported that Samsung plans to launch both a 4G and a 5G variant of the Galaxy A15 smartphone in Europe. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy A15 was expected to debut with an IPS LCD display, however, a new report suggests that Samsung is planning on an upgrade.

TheElec has mentioned that the upcoming Galaxy A15 will come with an OLED screen instead of the usual LCD. This is a notable change because it’s the first time a Galaxy A1 series phone, which is known for its affordability, will have an OLED display.

In earlier news, it was mentioned that the phone will come with a 6.4-inch screen that refreshes at 90 times per second. When it comes to taking pictures, there’s a rumor that the Galaxy A15 will have a 50MP main camera on the back. The information about the other two cameras is still a secret, but it’s expected to have wide-angle and close-up cameras. For taking selfies, the phone might have a 13MP front camera.

The phone is likely to come with Android 14 and Samsung’s One UI 6 already installed. Some reports hint that Samsung could officially introduce the Galaxy A15 in the first part of 2024. The Galaxy A14 5G has a Dimensity 700 SoC, so it will be interesting to see what SoC the brand opts for this time. Battery specifications are likely to remain unchanged, so we might get a 5,000mAh battery supporting 15W fast charging.

DJI launches Osmo Pocket 3: More power and flexibility in a tiny package

After three years, DJI has finally released the Osmo Pocket 3, a new version of its popular pocket-sized gimbal camera. The new model features a number of upgrades, including a larger sensor, a rotating touchscreen, and improved intelligent features. So let’s talk about it in detail here.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Launched Features Price

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Specifications

The Osmo Pocket 3 now has a one-inch CMOS sensor, which is significantly larger than the sensor in the previous model.

This gives the camera better low-light performance and the ability to shoot in 4K resolution at 120fps. The camera also has 10-bit D-Log M and 10-bit HLG color modes, which give users more flexibility in post-production.

Another major change is the rotating touchscreen. The previous model had a fixed screen, which made it difficult to shoot in vertical orientation. The new 2-inch touchscreen can be rotated to horizontal or vertical orientation, making it easy to shoot for social media or other platforms.

DJI has also improved the intelligent features on the Osmo Pocket 3. ActiveTrack 6.0 now has face auto-detection and dynamic framing, which means the camera can keep your subject in frame even if they’re moving. There are also new features like Product Showcase, which is designed for live streaming, and Glamor Effects 2.0, which provides personalized beauty options.

The Osmo Pocket 3 also has a number of other improvements, including a triple microphone array for better audio recording, a digital zoom of up to 4x, and a panorama mode. The battery life has also been improved, with the camera now able to record for up to 116 minutes at 4K/60fps.

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Pricing and Availability

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is available now for $519. It comes with a gimbal, a charging cable, a protective cover, a wrist strap, and a handle. You can also get the creator combo for $669, which adds accessories like the Mic 2, mini tripod, carrying bag, and more.

X Users can Now Communicate with Fellow Users via Audio and Video Calls

X, which many remember as Twitter, has added a new feature: audio and video calls. This wasn’t a complete surprise. Linda Yaccarino, the CEO, mentioned this change in August. The goal seems clear: under Elon Musk, X wants to offer more and more features in one app.

This feature might need some tweaking before it becomes perfect to use

When you open the app now, you might see a message saying “Audio and Video calls are here!” For those who like to call directly, this could be good news. But there’s a detail that’s causing concern. The call feature is turned on by default. If you don’t want people from X calling you, you have to go to the settings in your Direct Messages and turn it off. There’s a small gear symbol that shows you where to do this. You can also choose who can call you: maybe only verified accounts or just your followers.

X Twitter

However, X has had some problems in the past, especially with keeping things peaceful for everyone. This makes people worry about the new call feature being on by default. If you don’t know about this feature and suddenly get a call from someone you don’t want to talk to, that’s not a good feeling.

X’s new feature might be trying to offer more to its users. But the way it’s been added might not be the best choice. It’s important that features make things easier for users, not harder or confusing. Only time will tell how this turns out for the users, but considering X’s track record, users will always be skeptical of the update at first. What do you think? Does it seem like an update you would be interested in? Share with us in the comments below.
