At the 2023 World Computing Conference, Huawei Vice Chairman and Rotating Chairman Xu Zhijun acknowledged that the company’s chips, servers, and PCs lag behind those of foreign companies. However, he believes that the only way to close this gap is to use Huawei’s own products.

Xu Zhijun argued that if Huawei does not use its own chips, the gap will only widen. However, if Huawei uses its chips on a large scale, it could pull and promote the progress of the company’s entire technology and products, and eventually catch up with foreign companies.

Xu Zhijun also pointed out that China’s general computing industry is currently advancing in three ecosystem forms. First is the X86, second is the Pentium ecosystem, and third and last is the RISC-V open-source ecosystem. He believes that these three ecosystems will develop in parallel for a long time in the future and that it is still too early to say which one will ultimately be the most successful.

In addition, Xu Zhijun stressed the importance of building an independent computing industry ecosystem in China. He said that this is essential for sustainable development and that it must be built on the basis of actually available chip manufacturing processes. Xu Zhijun also said that computing power infrastructure must be built on sustainably obtained computing chips and on an ecological basis.

Huawei has finally launched the Mate 60 smartphone with 5G connectivity after a long hiatus. The Mate 60 series uses a Kirin chip processed with 7nm technology, which is a few years behind the competition. However, this is a significant milestone for Huawei, as it marks the company’s return to 5G.

Now, reliable leaker Roland Quandt has shared some key details about the upcoming Galaxy Buds FE. The buds will feature 12mm drivers, which are slightly larger than the drivers in the Galaxy Buds 2, and will retail for $99.99, putting them in the midrange price bracket. This makes them about the same price as Google’s Pixel Buds A.

In addition to the price, Quandt also shared that the Galaxy Buds FE will be available in graphite and white colorways. Earlier this week, Samsung also accidentally leaked the official user manual for the earbuds. The manual’s PDF is currently available at this link on Samsung’s website, but it’s unclear how long it will be available.

The leaked user manual for the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE reveals that the earbuds will have a similar design to other Samsung headphones, with features such as touchpads and attachable wingtips. This is in line with Samsung’s FE strategy of offering many features of its higher-end products at a lower price. The manual also includes a look at the charging case, which is a standard earbud charging case.

The Moto Tab G62 LTE was the last tablet the company launched, but soon it may unveil a new model called the Moto Tab G84. A recent report has shared the renders of the tablet, revealing a couple of details in the process.

An Appauls report claims Motorola is gearing up to launch the Moto Tab G84 in India soon. This tablet should debut as the successor of the Tab G70, which itself was launched back in 2022. The renders of the new slate reveal it will continue to feature thick bezels like previous Motorola tablets. It gets a single 8MP camera setup on the dual-tone back. Although it’s unclear from the pictures, the report highlights the tablet has a metallic body.

Moto Tab G84 looks like a large-screen tablet as it has a selfie camera in a landscape orientation. The back of the tablet has a small cut-out for a magnetic connector, likely for a stylus pen. The Motorola logo is centered on the back of the tablet. The tablet has JBL speakers with support for Dolby Atmos.

On the bottom edge of the tablet, there is a Pogo PIN connection with three contact points, which could be a docking interface for a keyboard accessory. On the right side of the tablet, there are two speakers and a USB-C port.

The new products are the Xiaomi MIJIA baseboard electric heater 2, the MIJIA graphene baseboard heater 2, the MIJIA air heater, and the MIJIA Graphene air heater. The four new electric heaters also coincided with the launch of the MIJIA Electric Cup 2.

The MIJIA Baseboard Electric Heater 2 has a heating power of 2200W and can accomplish instant heating in seconds. It supports 1100W and 2200W two-speed heating, while the heater supports IPX4 waterproof protection. The MIJIA baseboard electric heater 2 can be used to dry clothes.

The MIJIA Graphene Baseboard Electric Heater 2 is equipped with graphene materials for more efficient heat dissipation, compared to the baseboard electric heater 2. It has a digital display LED screen and an intelligent temperature control system for monitoring the heating process. The Graphene Baseboard electric heater 2 supports Xiaoai voice and MIJIA app control.

The Xiaomi MIJIA Heater is rated 2000W and supports a 70º wide-angle swing head for air supply. It can be used for heating and clothes drying. The last model unveiled is the Xiaomi MIJIA Graphene Air Heater. It features intelligent voice control together with the MIJIA app support. This means that you can remotely turn on and turn off the heater, set the timer, adjust the temperature, and even set a child lock for safety.

The new set of MIJIA electric heaters is now available in China with a starting price of 199 yuan (~$27). There are no indications yet on the availability of the new MIJIA electric heaters in overseas markets.
