Twitter emphasizes that providing advance notice of these actions could potentially allow these malicious actors to modify their behavior to evade detection, rendering the efforts less effective. By keeping their actions discreet, Twitter aims to maximize their impact in eliminating spam and bots.

At a high level, the company’s efforts revolve around two key areas: preventing the scraping of public Twitter data for building AI models and thwarting attempts to manipulate people and conversations on the platform. With a charging capacity of 19.2 kilowatts, this bundle provides a reliable and efficient backup solution.

Electric Vehicles

For those looking for additional storage capabilities, the Ultium Home Energy System is the perfect choice. This bundle combines the V2H Enablement Kit with the GM PowerBank stationary storage unit. With storage options ranging from 10.6 kWh to 17.7 kWh, homeowners can have peace of mind knowing they have ample energy reserves in case of emergencies.

Do we really need 24GB RAM on smartphones?

Last week, news broke out that the OPlus group will soon introduce smartphones with 24GB RAM. The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is expected to be the first phone from the group to offer the said amount of RAM.

But the world’s first smartphone to feature 24GB RAM is the Red Magic 8S Pro. This device will be announced in a few hours from when this article goes live.

Currently, 16GB RAM is the highest memory capacity you can find on most handsets. That said, there are some products with 18GB, but they are mostly limited to China.

So do you really need 24GB RAM on your phone? In my opinion, you don’t, but there are some exceptions. Let me explain.

Red Magic 8 Pro

You need at least 4GB RAM to run basic apps in 2023

For the unaware, RAM is the fastest memory chip inside any device. The system software loads into the RAM every time you boot up your smartphone or any other computer. 

RAM is also the memory where apps (including games) load into when they are launched. So it is crucial for the functioning of your smartphone.

Right now, 2GB RAM is the bare minimum to run Android 13. It was only 1GB prior to this. These days, you will find measly RAM only on entry-level smartphones that ship with Android Go Edition.

Whereas, most budget smartphones start with 4GB RAM. You may not be able to multitask on these types of handsets but all modern apps will work on them without hiccups.

So what’s the ideal amount of RAM on smartphones? 

Most apps consume around 100-200MB of RAM. Some games can take up to 1.5GB or more.

In 2023, it is advisable to buy a phone with at least 8GB RAM.

This is why most popular flagship smartphones like the latest Samsung Galaxy S series start with 8GB RAM. But since Chinese brands have always been competitive, they provide a minimum of 12GB on their premium offerings.

Also, it is worth mentioning that if you browse a lot on your phone with numerous tabs, I recommend you get the variant with the highest amount of RAM you can buy.

Because browsers like Google Chrome consume more RAM than any app or game under heavy load. In fact, the 64-bit version of Google Chrome requires a minimum of 8GB RAM.

But having more RAM doesn’t guarantee an ideal experience

Ideally, if your handset has high-capacity RAM, you should be able to run multiple apps in the background. The applications should not be force closed unless you are out of memory.

Unfortunately, that’s not the case on most phones with a large amount of RAM. These types of smartphones are usually sold by Chinese brands and their software prioritizes battery life by default.

Thus, even with 18GB RAM, these handsets tend to kick out apps from RAM though there’s enough free memory. You have to manually restrict these actions for each app on these devices to properly utilize the maximum available RAM. Sometimes, even this doesn’t work.

Therefore, even if a handset offers 24GB RAM, software optimization is crucial. Keeping more applications in memory is power-consuming but the decision to suspend apps should be in the hands of the consumers by default.

24GB RAM makes sense in certain use cases

Personally, I feel it is fine for some smartphones to feature 24GB of RAM. But it would be better if we see this amount of memory on a device like a horizontal foldable that unfolds into a tablet. Because they are productivity machines and are designed to perform multiple tasks at the same time.

On the other hand, gaming smartphones will also benefit from having 24GB RAM as you can keep multiple games in the background and switch between them, just like on Xbox Series X / S. However, some of the most popular mobile titles right now are online multiplayer games, which need not be kept in the background.

However, if you have 24GB RAM on a regular slab smartphone, the maximum benefit you get is keeping multiple apps in the background. After all, you cannot multitask as efficiently as on foldables. So in my opinion, having 24GB of RAM on regular slab smartphones is definitely an overkill, without any significant benefit.

The Magic Realm features a 32:9 curved surround screen. The curvature of the display is 1800R and offers a field view beyond that of conventional displays. This will be a boon for its gaming and other applications as it offers a great view of the action.

The design of the Magic Realm, as per the official teaser indicates that the left, right, and upper borders are well controlled. The buttons on the monitor are placed separately under the display and the screen border is all black. The Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) technology was introduced by Samsung and offers higher brightness with more vivid colors. The QD-OLED panel has significantly improved color richness and will excellently display a variety of colors. The refresh rate, response time, and other game-centered fundamentals of the Magic realm are not known at this time.

The Magic Realm offers a great visual perception thanks to its excellent QD-OLED properties. The latest Red Magic display is well-suited for gaming applications and offers an immersive viewing experience. The Red Magic latest display will launch simultaneously with the Red Magic 8S Pro on July 5. The monitor is also expected to berth in a sprinkling of overseas markets after its China unveiling. FAW Fuwei Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., based in Changchun, confirmed their active engagement with Xiaomi’s car project and disclosed that several of their subsidiaries have joined Xiaomi’s car purchasing team. This development indicates significant progress in the collaboration between Xiaomi and its suppliers.

Earlier, a social media leak suggesting a starting price of 149,900 yuan ($20,777) for Xiaomi’s car had sparked discussions. However, Wang Hua, the head of Xiaomi’s public relations, clarified that this information was false. It was traced back to a self-media report from May 2022 that was mistakenly amplified by the Xiaoice virtual assistant.

The production of Xiaomi’s car is reportedly advancing steadily. In May of this year, Lu Weibing, Xiaomi’s partner and president, shared that the car project was progressing smoothly and had entered an accelerated development stage. The car was spotted being tested in the snow with founder Lei Jun back in January this year. More summer and winter testing are scheduled to be conducted this year. According to the plan, the Xiaomi car is scheduled to be officially launched in the first half of 2024.

Xiaomi Group recently released its financial report for the first quarter of 2023, which included updates on its innovative businesses, such as smart electric vehicles. Despite a decrease in total revenue compared to the same period in 2022, the company’s adjusted net profit witnessed a notable increase.

The processor was first released in 2019 but it still offers some performance mileage to the tablet even with newer chips already in the market. The Chuwi UBook X has an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. It has a 3:2 aspect ratio and a maximum brightness of 340 nits. It has a magnesium allow and polycarbonate body and dimensions of 11.5 x 8,2 x 0.4 inches and a 38Wh battery.

The Chuwi UBook X tablet is being offered at a discounted price of $359 for the 8GB+256GB model, with up to $80 chalked off its original price. There are added costs for the accessories of the tablet with a $40 bundle offering a detachable keyboard and pressure-sensitive pen. The UBook XPro is almost identical to the UBook X 2023 and it is offered at a discounted price of $399 at the least.

OnePlus has updated a lot of its devices to OxygenOS 13.1, and now, the two-generation old OnePlus 9R is also getting the same treatment. The brand officially started seeding the OxygenOS 13.1.0.581 update for the OnePlus 9R for Indian users.

Keychron Q9 Plus brings serious customizability

The Keychron Q9 Plus comes with a minimalistic design. It is a 40% keyboard, which means it has a smaller layout than a traditional keyboard. The Q9 Plus also has two space keys, which is something you don’t often see in a regular keyboard. The body of the Q9 Plus is made of CNC aluminum, which makes it sturdy and durable. The Gasket Design central suspension fixed structure design is a new type of keyboard mount that is designed to provide a more comfortable and flexible typing experience.

The Keychron Q9 Plus mechanical keyboard comes with two sets of keycaps: one set for macOS and one set for Windows. This means that you can easily switch between operating systems without having to change out the keycaps. The keyboard also supports QMK / VIA open-source key change, which allows you to customize the keymap and program keys to your liking.

The key caps on the Q9 Plus are made of ergonomic OSA PBT ball caps. PBT is a type of plastic that is more durable than ABS, the material that is typically used for keycaps. OSA keycaps are also designed to be more ergonomic, with a spherical shape that is supposed to be more comfortable to type on.

The Keychron Q9 Plus mechanical keyboard is available in three switch bodies: K Pro brown switch, red switch, and banana switch. These are all mechanical switches, which means that they have a spring inside that makes them click or clack when you press them. The Q9 Plus also supports hot-swapping and comes with south-facing RGB lighting effects. In the upper right corner of the keyboard, there is a stepless knob that can be used to adjust the volume.

These are the 2023 models of the Nokia 110 4G and the Nokia 110 2G. Let’s delve deeper into the specifications and features of these devices.

Compared to the 2021 model, the Nokia 110 4G/2G (2023) models feature minute design changes, however, the finish of the device looks more premium, likely due to the new colorways. Most importantly, this year’s models come with built-in UPI payment support, enabling users to effortlessly make payments with a simple press of a button. Durability is also prioritized, with the Nokia 110 4G housing a robust 1450mAh battery and the Nokia 110 2G featuring a 1000mAh battery. Both phones support expandable storage of up to 32GB.

On the other hand, the Nokia 110 2G (2023) features a 1.8″ QQVGA display, a QVGA rear camera, and a 1000mAh battery offering up to 12 days of standby time. It has Micro-USB (1.1) connectivity, supports microSD cards up to 32GB, and runs on the S30+ operating system. The phone comes with wired and wireless FM radio reception and supports 2G networks with dual SIM capability. Its back panel is made of polycarbonate with a nano texture, and it has an IP52 water resistance rating. The Nokia 110 2G is available in Charcoal and Cloudy Blue colors, weighing 79.6g and measuring 49.4mm x 115.07mm x 14.4mm.

Price & availability

The Nokia 110 4G (2023) is set at a price of Rs. 2,499 and offers a choice between Midnight Blue and Arctic Purple colors. Similarly, the Nokia 110 2G (2023) is priced at Rs. 1,699 and comes in Charcoal and Cloudy Blue options. Both phones can be purchased from Nokia.com, offline stores, and will soon be available from other retailers as well.

The device has ultra-clear tempered glass that has high permeability and enhanced transparency. The panel also features an oleophobic layer and an Optical Clear Adhesive substrate-free, double-sided adhesive lamination. The setup achieves the highest transparency possible while using the gadget. The handle has a soft rubber wrapping that makes it easy to hold.

The Dell G2724D features a matte black and gray plastic chassis. Dell includes an ergonomic stand with the monitor, which allows for height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. Additionally, the stand can pivot 90 degrees, enabling the monitor to be used in portrait orientation. The monitor comes with a 27-inch gaming LCD with QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels). It features a refresh rate of 165Hz and a response time of 1 ms.

The Dell G2724D incorporates NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium display synchronization technologies. This model stands out for its impressive color accuracy, delivering a wide color gamut of 99% sRGB and adhering to the rigorous VESA DisplayHDR 400 standards. There’s a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and a generous viewing angle of 178°.

Further, the connectivity options on the G2724D include two DisplayPort 1.4 ports and one HDMI 1.4 port. It is also very compact, with dimensions of 611.90mm x 200.20mm x (393.48mm – 523.48mm). It weighs just 5.95kg.

This was the China launch of the gaming monitor and it costs 2,499 yuan in the country. Luckily, the Dell G2724D is also available for direct purchase in the global market with a price tag of $299.

Honor will be holding a launch event in Paris on July 6 to launch the Honor 90 series smartphones for global markets. The brand is expected to debut two devices at this event, the Honor 90 5G and the Honor 90 Pro. Ahead of the launch, the brand teased that the Honor 90 5G will feature an “enhanced display”.

Although the teaser hints at a curved display and rounded edges, it doesn’t provide detailed information about the display itself. Thankfully, the device has already been released in China, granting us access to all the information we need.

What’s special about the Honor 90 5G’s display?

The Honor 90 5G boasts a 6.7-inch OLED display offering an FHD+ resolution of 2664×1200 pixels. Notably, it supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The display also impresses with its wide color gamut of 1.07 billion colors. Moreover, a noteworthy feature is the world’s first implementation of 3,840Hz PWM dimming on this device.

For that unaware, PWM dimming offers eye-related benefits due to flicker reduction and eye fatigue reduction. Flickering caused by rapid on-off backlight switching can lead to discomfort or eye strain for certain individuals. However, PWM dimming at higher frequencies minimizes or eliminates flickering, resulting in a more comfortable viewing experience. Additionally, precise control over brightness levels with PWM dimming helps reduce eye fatigue, which can occur from excessively bright or dim screen settings.

When it comes to photography, the Honor 90 is equipped with a 200MP main camera, along with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth-of-field sensor. While it lacks Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), it does support Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). Additionally, the device features a 50MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies.

Lenovo is now gearing up to launch the 2023 refresh of the popular Legion Y700 tablet on July 22. Here’s what we know so far.

An official teaser on Weibo confirms that Lenovo is ready to launch the Legion Y700 2023 on July 22. The launch event will take place in China. While not much information has been revealed through the teaser, it does give us a good look at the device’s front panel. It appears that the slate will have essentially the same design as its predecessor, with thick bezels on the front.

Lenovo reveals the tablet will retain the 8-inch display of the 2022 model. Other hardware details of the device are still anyone’s guess. Since it’s a refresh, we can expect it to get new and more powerful processor, a higher refresh rate screen, among other upgrades.

To remind you, the original Legion Y700 tablet (review) brings an 8.8-inch LCD display with support for a 100 DCI P3 color gamut. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, the slate is powered by the capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. It packs a large 6,550mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging and runs on ZUI 13.

Honor MagicPad 13 tablet also launching on July 12, so is the Honor Watch 4

Honor is ready to launch the Magic V2, its latest book-style foldable, in China on July 12. Today, the company has confirmed that a new tablet— the MagicPad 13— will also share the stage with the folding phone, along with an eSIM-supported Honor 4 smartwatch. Furthermore, Honor revealed that it will also launch the new Smart TV 5, featuring a sleek design. Here’s what we know so far.

According to teasers on Weibo, the Magic V2 will be accompanied by at least three more devices. The major one will be the Honor MagicPad 13 tablet, which features a 13 inches display with thin bezels. It will also come with niceties like a cover keyboard and a stylus. Other details of the slate are yet to be known.

The Honor Watch 4 has also been teased. The wearable is pictured with a squircle dial that resembles the Apple Watch series. What’s interesting about this watch is that it comes with eSIM support, which is a first for an Honor smartwatch. An eSIM will open up a wide range of connectivity options for users, allowing them to make calls and perform various tasks directly from the watch itself. It features a single button on the right side and is claimed to have better battery life.

As mentioned, Honor will also launch the Smart TV 5 on July 12. While not much has been revealed in the teasers, the TV appears to have a large size and features a sleek design. We don’t see any bezels on the television. The company did use some fancy terms for the TV, stating that it offers “flagship picture quality” and “next-level high definition for exploring new horizons.”
