Google Japan has unveiled a queer-looking 165cm single-row keyboard, the Gboard Bar. The new keyboard has all its keys on a single line which accounts for its length. The conceptualization of the Gboard Bar aims to minimize the need for users to find keys in multiple lines.
With the Gboard Bar, you only need to look across the line to choose the key you want. The new keyboard has an ergonomic and aesthetic appeal. Google also says it comes with health benefits. It allows the user to stretch both arms and legs naturally when typing.
Google Japan has also established a GitHub page for the Gboard Bar and uploaded the needed data files for users to make the keyboard themselves. While theoretically, an individual can create his own Gboard Bar, Google Japan is silent on whether it has produced some units of the accessory.
The minimalist aesthetic design of the Gboard Bar could catch the fancy of some customers, but it remains to be seen how the product pans out in the market. A 5-foot (165cm) keyboard could prove an unwieldy accessory. Its futuristic design, however, looks good.
A few days ago, Xiaomi released a new amazing mid-ranger: the Xiaomi Civi 2. Not only it boasts great performance and a very interesting camera department, but it is even one of the most beautiful phones ever released by the Chinese giant. However, there are other mid-rangers released by the company this year. That is the reason why a lot of people are wondering whether they should go for an older device and save some money or spend more on the new Civi. In order to understand it, there is no better way than to compare it with the other mid-rangers from the brand. Earlier this year, the company released the Xiaomi 12 Lite, a mid-range positioned in the same price range as the new device, but it currently comes with more affordable street prices simply because it is an older device. Which one should you go for? Here is a comparison between the main specifications of the Xiaomi 12 Lite and the Xiaomi Civi 2.

Design
When it comes to the design, there is almost no midrange phone which can beat the Xiaomi Civi 2. It is built with an aluminum frame and a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5, it is one of the thinnest phones on the market (the thickness is just 7.2 mm) and even one of the most lightweight (it weighs just 172 grams). Further, it has a very high screen to body ratio and a pill shaped punch hole similar to the Dynamic Island found on the new iPhone 14 lineup. This is the only phone with a pill shaped punch hole placed centrally on the display until now. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is a beautiful phone too, but it is far from the new Civi. It is built with a glass back protected by Gorilla Glass 5, but it has a plastic frame and a lower screen to body ratio. The rear design is different and the handset is slightly thicker, but it is another of the thinnest and most lightweight devices on the shelves.
Display
The displays of the Xiaomi 12 Lite and the Xiaomi Civi 2 have more or less the same specifications. They are AMOLED panels with a diagonal of 6.55 inches able to show up to 68 billion colors with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, the HDR10+ certification, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The peak brightness is not the same but it does not change too much, with the Civi 2 being slightly brighter. An important advantage of the Xiaomi 12 Lite is the presence of dual speakers, so you can get a better audio experience with this device. For the rest, there is not much difference between these phones on the multimedia side.
Specs & Software
The two Xiaomi mid-rangers are equipped with different chipsets. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is fueled by the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform built with a 6 nm production process and sporting an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex A78 CPU running at a max frequency of 2.4 GHz, three Cortex A78 CPUs running at 2.2 GHz, four Cortex A55 CPUs running at 1.9 GHz, and an Adreno 642L GPU. The SoC is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The Xiaomi Civi 2 is definitely better thanks to the new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 mobile platform built with a 4 nm production process, with an octa-core architecture, and with a max frequency of 2.4 GHz, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. So, with the Civi you get a superior chipset and a higher amount of RAM. Both handsets run Android 12 customized by MIUI 13.
Camera
When it comes to the main camera, the Xiaomi 12 Lite looks more convincing thanks to the presence of a great 108 MP main shooter. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Civi 2 has a better 20 MP ultrawide sensor, allowing for better ultrawide shots. Further, it sports a better front camera department including two 32 MP selfie shooters: one of them is an ultrawide camera, and there is also a front-facing LED flash.
With the Xiaomi Civi 2, users will get a longer battery life because it has a bigger battery and a processor built with a better production process (4 nm vs 6 nm). The battery capacity is 4500 mAh, against the 4300 mAh capacity of the 12 Lite. The charging technologies are exactly the same: 67W fast charging.
Price
The Xiaomi 12 Lite starts from $399/€399 in the global market, while the starting price of the Xiaomi Civi 2 roughly translates into €350/$350 at the actual change in the Chinese market. Unfortunately, at least for now, the Civi is not available in the global market. It wins this comparison thanks to a better design, a superior chipset, a bigger battery, and better cameras overall.

The case provides an additional 27 hours of battery which means that total battery life of these earphones is about 36 hours. In addition, 5 minutes of recharging can deliver up to 2 hours of music playback.
Redmi Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro Price and Availability
Redmi Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro are currently available in the European market only. The non-pro model can be purchased for just €59.99. It is offered in Light Blue and Gloss White colorways. Ahead of the October 7 Made by Google event, a tipster has leaked two ads for the upcoming Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. Tipster Snoopy Tech released a pair of 30 seconds ads via Twitter and the videos show some innovations in the two models.
As per the leaked videos, the Pixel 7 Pro comes with a new Macro Focus feature that allows for snap close-ups. The Super Res zoom in the Pixel 7 Pro is much improved from its predecessor, the Pixel 6 Pro. We now have 6x optical zoom and 30x hybrid zoom. The new Macro Focus feature is however lacking in the Pixel 7. Both models feature Cinematic Blur, similar to the iPhone’s Cinematic Mode. The Cinematic Blur functionality allows the camera to shift between two objects while keeping one sharply focused and the other image blurred in the background.
The Extreme Battery Mode of the new models allows for up to 72 hours of activity on a single charge. However, most of the apps are disabled although the user can choose the apps that can be running under this mode. You can choose the apps that you want to run under the mode by assessing the settings menu and navigating through the Extreme Battery Saver option.
We expect the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to be unveiled together with other products during the Made by Google event. The Pixel Watch and two Nest devices are also expected to be launched this week. The pricing and full specs details of the Pixel 7 lineup have not been officially released.

Sony is done with all of its smartphone launches for 2022. Despite that, out of nowhere, a mysterious Sony handset has been spotted on Geekbench.
The listing not only reveals the device’s chipset but also its RAM capacity. At the same time, it also discloses the software.
Sony Xperia Ace 2
An unknown Sony-branded smartphone with model number XQ-DS99 has made its appearance on Geekbench. As per the listing, the phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 SoC.
Further, the handset will come with 12GB of RAM. We believe that there could be other memory variants as well. Finally, it will boot Android 12.
Unfortunately, that’s all the information we have on this mysterious Sony device. Anyway, we are looking forward to learning more about this phone in the coming days.
Going by the chip, the forthcoming Sony XQ-DS99 could be placed between the Xperia 5 IV and Xperia 10 IV. In simpler words, it could be an upper mid-range smartphone.
Since Sony now uses numerical names for its smartphones (except Ace), this one may also bear the same. If it is going to be part of new series, then it will likely be called other than 1, 5, and 10. However, we are not sure about it right now.
What are your thoughts on Sony XQ-DS99? Do let us know in the comment section below.

It was shared by a user with the handle “Suckmyn00dle.” This Redditor apparently managed to get his hands on a Pixel Watch before the smartwatch starts its commercial shipment. So now, we have an unofficial but complete look at the upcoming wearable ahead of the Made by Google event later this week.
Looking at the online post, the Redditor stated that he did unbox the smartwatch but did not turn it on as he didn’t want to get caught. In other words, it is clear that the user is not supposed to have the Pixel Watch, although, we have no idea how he got his hands on the new device. Notably, he also took pictures of the smartwatch with his Pixel 6 smartphone. During the unboxing, he noted that the retail box carries the Pixel Watch, an Active band, and the USB type C magnetic charge case.
Furthermore, the small band fits wrists around 130 to 175mm while the large band is compatible with wrists that measure around 165 and 210mm. The Pixel Watch model that was unboxed was the “Polished Silver Stainless Steel” variant with the “Charcoal Active band.” The box also states that the Pixel Watch supports WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, and GPS. This new smartwatch will also run on Wear OS 3.5 and sports a 1.18 inch display and is powered by an Exynos 9118 chip.
Earlier this year, iQOO debuted the iQOO 10 and iQOO 10 Pro devices in China. The device did not make it to India; instead, the brand launched the iQOO 9T featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the country.

Now that the company is gearing up to launch the iQOO 11 series, a report from Pricebaba has emerged, confirming that these devices will come to India. According to the report, tipster Paras Guglani has shared the smartphones’ firmware data that confirms the moniker of the devices to be iQOO 11 and iQOO 11 Pro.
Both iQOO I2209 and iQOO I2212 are related to the iQOO 11 India and iQOO 11 Pro India models, respectively. The IQOO V2243A and V2254A are paired with their Chinese equivalent at the same time.
Previous leaks have mentioned that the iQOO 11 series will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The display will be E6 AMOLED, with the vanilla variant getting a flat panel and the Pro model getting a curved panel. The refresh rate of the screen is expected to top out at 144Hz. Other than that, the device could feature 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
Information on the optics is still scarce, but rumors so far suggest that the devices could debut with a Sony IMX8-series sensor paired with Vivo’s V2 ISP chip.
In December 2021, Huawei unveiled the Watch D, its first smartwatch with blood pressure monitoring. The wearable was not anticipated to be released outside of the home market, but it did so in May 2022.
There was no arrival date provided; however, the price was set at €449. The exact same information was presented by Huawei during its IFA 2022 keynote in Berlin, but now the company has finally made the Watch D’s October 12 arrival in Germany public.
Given that the Huawei wristwatch has a built-in blood pressure monitor, it costs more than the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro at this price point. Additionally, it has a skin temperature sensor, an electrocardiogram (ECG), a heart rate monitor, and a SpO2 sensor that can measure blood oxygen levels.
The high-hardness aviation aluminum body of the Huawei Watch D was specially manufactured for it to be more durable and scratch-resistant. It has a 1.64-inch HD display with a pixel density of 326PPI. The device has an IP68 classification for water and dust protection, making it the first watch with blood pressure monitoring capabilities to have such a grade in the industry.
Additionally, it enables heart rate detection using an eight-channel, highly sensitive optical sensor and has support for more than 70 different sports. When using all of the features, the manufacturer claims that the gadget should last for seven days on a single charge. The smartwatch also supports wireless charging.
Sony has just recently started shipping new models of the PlayStation 5 in India. These new models of the popular gaming console are more power efficient and lighter than the original launch versions. So here’s all the details.
Previously, we had reported on the Japanese tech giant rolling out new models of the PS5 console. Now, it appears that the company is launching the same models in India as well. For those unaware, the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) has approved the new PS5 CFI-1208A and CFI-1208B models. In other words, we can expect the new game consoles to make its way to India with an upcoming local restock.
For those unaware, the new PS5 CFI-1200 series comes with an overhaul in the internal design. These changes makes the newer PS5 models more power efficient while also helping offer better thermal performance as well. This is made possible due to a new and smaller motherboard and improved cooling system that consists of an additional heat pipe and a smaller heatsink. Thanks to these changes, the newer PS5 variants is around .45 kilograms lighter than the original launch events.
🚨NEW: Two new models of the PlayStation 5, CFI-1208A, CFI-1208B, have been approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards.
Apart from these smaller changes in design, Sony is also rumored to be working on a major refresh for the PS5. This notable redesign will reportedly have the brand launch a PS5 model that has a detachable disc drive, which would attach to the gaming console through a USB Type C port. It means we can expect the console to either bundle with the disc drive, or the latter could be sold separately as an accessory.
