The $550 Lenovo Tab P12 Pro has launched in India for $900

While the Lenovo Tab P12 Pro has already been launched in the global market, the company has just released the high end tablet for the Indian market but with a hefty price tag.

Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6

Talking about the specs of the Tab P12 Pro first, it sports a 12.6 inch AMOLED display with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and HDR10+ support. Under the hood, it is equipped with a  Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. A large 10,200mAh battery pack powers the device which supports 30W fast charging as well. The rear packs a 13 megapixel dual camera setup while the front houses an 8 megapixel selfie shooter.

For those unaware, the Chinese company’s Tab P12 Pro had launched in China as the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 12.6 back in November 2021. This model started from around 560 US Dollars in the Chinese market. But in India, the cost is nearly double, with a starting price of 69,999 INR, which is roughly 900 US Dollars. So, the tablet arrives months late and with a premium price tag. At this price, it competes with the likes of other high end tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, which starts from 70,999 INR.

Interestingly, the new tablet is also one of the few devices that are eligible for the Android 12L. This OS version was announced by Google last year and was specifically made for large screen gadgets and foldable devices. According to the official Twitter account of Poco India, the forthcoming Poco F4 5G will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset underneath it. The brand calls this chip the ‘most optimized processor’, and it ain’t wrong.

The same SoC is also found inside last year’s Poco F3 5G, which goes by Mi 11X 5G in India and Redmi K40  in China. The chipset also powers other popular flagship killer smartphones like the iQOO Neo 6 (India), iQOO 7 (India), Realme GT Neo 3T, and Realme GT Neo 2.

Thanks to a leak, we know more about the Poco F4 5G apart from its SoC. The device is nothing but a rebranded Redmi K40S

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Review: The world’s best Under display camera phone

Ever since the concept of under-display cameras has come out, it seems that few phones are willing to try this new technology. It’s true that taking selfies with it will be poor, but you can’t ignore the fact that it can give us a perfect display of a full screen. As one of the pioneers of under-display camera phones, ZTE has upgraded this technology on their latest flagship phone: Axon 40 Ultra. It is probably the best under-display camera smartphone you can buy right now.

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Review: Design & Under screen Display

AXON 40 Ultra featured

I’ve been using this phone for a week now, and while its square design is not destined to fit in my palm, I still love it. It’s different from other phones in that the top and bottom are flat, much like the previous Samsung Note series. But you still can tell the difference between them by the camera module. The Axon 40 Ultra has a similar camera module to its predecessor, but because the camera has been upgraded, it is much larger overall. The SIM slot is still dual-SIM only. There is an infrared emitter and stereo speakers with DTS support. And the joint between the frame and the back panel is smoother, making it better to hold than the Axon 30 Ultra. So the Axon 40 Ultra has little change in appearance compared to the Axon 30 Ultra, but the details are better done.

AXON 40 Ultra featured 22

You must be very concerned about its under display camera, and so am I. So is this third-generation under-display camera selfie better? No, I don’t feel that its selfie effect has been improved. As with the previous under display camera phone, if you like to take selfies, I suggest you choose another phone. Especially in low light, believe me, you won’t be thinking about taking selfies.

The upgrade point is mainly in the display part. Axon 40 Ultra can finally drive the pixels in the front lens area independently. Compared to Axon 30, you can notice that the resolution of the font will not be reduced. This time, you really don’t notice it when watching videos or playing games. It is also not darker than other areas at the highest brightness.

AXON 40 Ultra Review 18However, we still found its weakness, there will be a black streak in the front lens area in the gray interface or at low brightness. But don’t worry, you won’t find this problem most of the time you use it. Let’s hope that this problem will be fixed through the system when the global version is officially launched.

AXON 40 Ultra Review 16The Axon 40 Ultra’s screen looks good overall, with a peak brightness of 1500 nits. The default color is a bit greenish, but it’s good to know that you can manually adjust the screen color temperature yourself. I think the visual impact of this complete and flawless screen is better than any specification.

AXON 40 Ultra Review 13

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Review: Camera Performance

The Axon 40 Ultra’s camera system is not only very strong, but also very interesting. Most phones use a 28mm lens for the main camera, but the Axon 40 Ultra main camera is a 35mm one.

AXON 40 Ultra cameras 10Many users who like photography should know the benefits of a 35mm lens. With less distortion than 28mm and wider than 50mm, it is one of the favorite lenses of many street photographers. Simply put, the photos look better with a handful of shots. The colors are not overly bright either, very clear and very nice. What I like most is the way ZTE handles night scenes. Taking a picture in auto mode will restore the scene as your eyes see it. If you take a picture in night mode, it’s just like any other flagship phone, the picture is very bright. In scenes with more light sources, it doesn’t pull up the exposure even when the night mode is turned on, still retaining the atmosphere of the night.

This approach, which allows the user to make their own choices, is also reflected in the autofocus. If you’ve seen our vivo phone review, you know how much I hate it when the system AI automatically switches lenses. The Axon 40 Ultra lets you choose whether the lens is switched by AI, and if you turn it off, you can lock in a lens shot even if it’s not Pro mode. I super love this switch, I hope Vivo can learn from it.

It is rare that the Axon 40 Ultra uses a large area sensor for both the ultra-wide camera and the telephoto camera. Both cameras perform very well. The telephoto lens in particular gives very good image quality even at night. In my week of use, I can use any focal length I want without reducing the image quality, which is a very good camera experience.

What surprised me even more is that Axon 40 Ultra supports 4k 120fps or 8k video recording for both main and ultra-wide cameras. The telephoto camera is also supposed to support 8K video recording, as the official Chinese website says so. But perhaps because we are the lab system version or the global version, so the telephoto camera can not currently shoot more than 4k resolution. Even so, I have been very satisfied with its video performance.

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Review: Performance and Gaming

AXON 40 Ultra Review 14

The Axon 40 Ultra is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The benchmark score, which you can pause to look at, is the normal 8 Gen 1 level. What disappoints me is the gaming performance, ZTE doesn’t seem to want to let go of all the performance of the processor and let us play to our heart’s content.

AXON 40 Ultra benchmark Review 08If it’s a game like PUBG that doesn’t require full performance Axon 40 Ultra can really run stable. But once your gaming needs get high, then its frame rate curve becomes less than pretty. Just like Vivo, the mobile games that took superb photos this year didn’t perform well, so we’re not going to blame this ZTE’s photo flagship.

AXON 40 Ultra gaming Review 07

The Axon 40 Ultra Global Edition has a charging power of 65w, which is not superfast, but it’s good enough. 33% is charged in 10 minutes, and it takes 45 minutes to fill. Unfortunately, there is still no wireless charging. The battery capacity has been increased to 5000mAh, except when the game will consume more power, the battery life is basically the same level as other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. If my personal use scenario, turn on the 5G network and do not play games, a full charge can be used for about 8 hours out.

AXON 40 Ultra Battery Review 04

The new MyOS 12 system has become much better. Many features are available, and the operation logic is very reasonable. If the previous MyOS was not that good, this time MyOS is really able to compete with other brands’ systems.

AXON 40 Ultra myOS featured 02

Axon 40 Ultra is actually an improved version of Axon 30 Ultra. The strength of each lens has been strengthened, the hole-punch has been removed, the battery capacity has been increased, and the system has become better.

AXON 40 Ultra Review 01

You can have many reasons not to buy it, but one reason to buy it is enough, that is: Axon 40 Ultra is currently the world’s best under display camera phone.

The Vanilla OnePlus 10 codenamed ‘Project Ovaltine’ might launch soon, says tipster

OnePlus has been on a launch spree this year. The company recently launched OnePlus 10R as an affordable flagship and there are also rumors that the BBK-owned company is bringing back the ‘T’ series with the OnePlus 10T 5G. However, the company has still not confirmed or denied the launch of the much-awaited Vanilla OnePlus 10, but tipster Yogesh Brar is here to rectify that.

According to the tipster, the Vanilla OnePlus 10 codenamed ‘Project Ovaltine’ will launch by the end of July. The tipster also confirms that the smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Soc.

Brar’s report seems to be in conflict with Max Jambor who earlier denied the existence of the vanilla version and claimed that the OnePlus 10T 5G is going to be the last and only flagship coming out by the brand this year.

All these leaks and rumors show just how messed up OnePlus’ lineup has gotten. First, the company skipped the standard OnePlus 10 and jumped straight to the Pro model. Now it appears that the Chinese tech giant will finally make up for its mistakes and launch the standard version.

OnePlus 10 Pro

Anyways, the details about the alleged OnePlus 10 are pretty short. However, if previous leaks and rumors are to be believed, the smartphone could sport a 6.7-inch LTPO2 AMOLED screen offering FHD+ resolution. The smartphone is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor paired with either 8GB or 12GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

It may pack a decent 4,800mAh battery capacity and could support 150W fast charging. Talking about the cameras, The OnePlus 10 is expected to feature triple rear cameras with the Hasselblad branding, consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 16MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro shooter. While it may house a 32MP selfie camera on the front.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra bags 3C certification, fast charging capabilities revealed

Xiaomi has a slew of flagship phones waiting to go official in China. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which is believed to be the company’s first Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset powered phone, has been certified by China’s 3C authority. As usual, the certification has revealed the fast-charging capabilities of the smartphone.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra from last year houses a 5,000mAh battery. It supports 67W fast charging, 67W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. There are a lot of rumors that the Xiaomi phone with the model number 2203121C (via) that was found in 3C’s database is the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra 3C listing

The 3C certification of the device reveals that it could be accompanied by an MDY-12-EF charger, which supports up to 67W rapid charging. Hence, it appears that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra may not offer any improvements when it comes to wired charging as compared to the predecessor model. It remains to be seen whether the 12 Ultra offers faster wireless charging.

Rumors have it that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will feature a 6.6-inch QHD+ 120Hz display and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Its rear-facing camera unit may comprise a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 48-megapixel periscope zoom snapper, and a 16-megapixel portrait lens.

In recent days, other Xiaomi flagship phones have also been spotted at the 3C certification site. It has been found that the Xiaomi 12S (2206123SC), Xiaomi 12S Pro Dimensity 9000 edition (2207122MC), and Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 (22061218C) may also arrive with support for 67W fast charging. However, the Xiaomi 12S Pro (2206122SC) variant, which will feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, may support 120W fast charging.

Tecno Pova 2 vs Tecno Pova 3: Specs Comparison

A few days ago, a new and very hot phone debuted in the Indian market: the Tecno Pova 3. A device from a non-widespread brand if we consider the whole global market, but with great specifications when it comes to the budget segment. With the release of this new low cost handset, a lot of people are wondering whether or not it is a good upgrade compared to its predecessor Tecno Pova 2. To be honest, there are no huge differences between these two devices which make it worth upgrading from one to another. But if you are evaluating both of these devices for a new purchase, then you have to know the difference between them in order to choose the best for your needs and pay the most appropriate price. Here is a comparison between the specifications of the Tecno Pova 3 and its predecessor Tecno Pova 2.

Design

One of the most important upgrades of the Tecno Pova 3 if compared to its predecessor is definitely the design. The handset which officially debuted at the end of last month comes with a cleaner design: there is no camera module and the sensors are placed directly on the back cover. The new phone seems to have narrower bezels around the display and it is thinner than its predecessor, even though it has the same battery capacity. The Electric Blue color option of the Tecno Pova 3 comes with a special RGB notification light stripe on the back, a very interesting feature that is not easy to find on non-gaming phones. So, as you already understood, the newly-announced budget phone wins the design comparison.

Display

The Tecno Pova 3 and its predecessor have the same screen diagonal: 6.9 inches. We are talking about huge displays among the biggest out there, almost like the smallest tablets. It is hard to find 6.9-inch phones in the actual market and this is another reason why a lot of people appreciate these devices, even though they are harder to use with one hand and to keep in a pocket. Both are IPS LCD displays with a Full HD+ resolution, but there is an important difference between these two panels: the refresh rate. The Tecno Pova 3 has a higher 90 Hz refresh rate, so it provides a smoother viewing experience, while the Pova 2 stops at 60 Hz. The fingerprint readers are side-mounted and both the phones feature stereo speakers for a rich audio experience, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Specs & Software

The Tecno Pova 3 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 mobile platform: it is a chipset built at 12 nm and running at a max frequency of 2 GHz, without the 5G connectivity. On this phone, it is paired with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage that you can furtherly expand by using a micro SD slot. The Tecno Pova 2 has the same hardware department but with a lower-end chipset: we are talking about the Mediatek Helio G85 built at 12 nm and running at a max frequency of 2 GHz. The Helio G88 is an upgrade of the Helio G85 with the same GPU but better CPU performance. Even though there is almost a year of difference between the launch dates of these two devices, they both run Android 11, customized by HiOS.

Camera

The Tecno Pova 3 brings a better camera department to the shelves thanks to a superior main camera. While its predecessor Tecno Pova 2 offered a 48 MP main sensor, the new device is equipped with a 50 MP main camera providing higher detail and better overall photo quality. The older model has one more camera on the rear side, but it is a useless 2 MP snapper, that is why it is better to have a superior main camera. In both cases, we are talking about low-end camera phones, but it is worth mentioning the difference between the camera setups. Both the handsets are able to record 1440p videos and feature 8 MP front cameras.

Battery

The battery is maybe the strongest point of these devices for a lot of people. They come with a huge battery capacity of 7000 mAh and, in 2022, the amount of phones with a so big battery is very low. Thanks to this battery, they are able to last several days on a single charge. Given that the components are similar and the processors are built with the same production process, the battery life between these two phones should not change too much. But you should note that the Tecno Pova 3 has faster charging speeds thanks to 25W fast charging (instead of just 18W).

Price

You need at least $180 to purchase the Tecno Pova 3 and at least Rs. 11,999 or $154 to buy the Pova 2 (we are talking about listing prices and not street prices). Which one would you pick?
