Motorola is gearing up to launch new smartphones soon. One of these models includes the Moto G82 5G, which was recently spotted on FCC. And now, the device was spotted on another certification website that revealed some of its specifications.
For those unaware, we had covered the smartphone’s FCC and SIRIM certifications, which hinted at its imminent launch. Apart from this, the device also surfaced on TDRA, Geekbench, EEC, and Wi-Fi Alliance databases. But the latest listing is on China’s 3C certification (Via MySmartPrice), which confirms that it will also be launching in the Chinese market. The Moto G82 5G carried the model number XT2225-2 on the 3C database, which also revealed its charging rate.
Looking at the certification, the smartphone will support 33W charging speeds (11V, 3A). Unfortunately, that is all the information that was revealed on the 3C website. However, we have previous reports to go on for additional specifications. At the moment, the Motorola G82 5G is expected to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor. This chipset will be paired with the Adreno 619 GPU and 8GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the upcoming smartphone will run on Android 12 OS out of the box and is believed to be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack. This model will likely offer some basic features like dual SIM support and dual band WiFi. Keep in mind that these specifications have yet to be officially confirmed by Motorola, so take this report with a pinch of salt, and stay tuned for more updates.
Apple has just been hit with another antitrust charge in the European Union. This news arrives following a complaint from Spotify, which caused the EU to start a probe into the matter.
According to a Reutersreport, the latest charges are a part of an ongoing investigation by the European Commission. This investigation is related to an anti competitive charge accusations that were filed by the popular music streaming platform, Spotify. This will likely further strengthen EU’s case against the Cupertino based giant and other major tech firms in the region. For those unaware, the European Union has been attempting to rein in tech giants, which have grown exponentially across the globe in recent years.
Back in 2019, Spotify had filed a complaint with the European Commission accusing Apple of forcing App Store rules that “purposely limit choice and stifle innovation at the expense of the user experience.” The music streaming platform also brought up Apple’s 30 percent commission on App Store in its arguments, since this forced the brand to raise the charges of its subscription plans to make up for the commission that Apple charges.
Spotify further added that this gave the iPhone maker an “unfair unadvantage” as Spotify was unable to compete with Apple Music on a level playing field. A source close to the matter told Reuters said that the European Commission now plans on charging the company with another antitrust charge in a supplementary statement of objections. So, the new charges could be issued in the next few weeks.

The summer season in India has seen a raft of fire incidents relating to electric scooters in the country. Some of these fire incidents have been fatal and it calls for a comprehensive investigation of the root causes. Another fire incident involving electric scooters has been reported in India. A total of 20 out of 40 Jitendra EV scooters inside a container were engulfed in fire on April 9, as reported by the company. Fortunately, no casualties were reported and the fire was quickly put out, according to Jitendra EV.
The electric scooters were in the upper carriage of the container and were being transported away from the factory when the fire incident broke out. The remaining 20 scooters in the container were not affected by the fire. Jitendra EV in a statement said it has launched an investigation into the fire incident to ascertain the cause of the fire. Jitendra EV continues to harp on safety as its key plank, stressing that it will come up with its findings in the coming days.
The increased incidence of e-scooter fires is not unconnected with the battery packs of these scooters in combination with the increased temperatures across the country during summer. Although a detailed report is being expected from the manufacturer, there is a need to continue to explore improvements to the overall safety of electric scooters in the subcontinent. While these fire incidents could be seen as teething problems, it is key that the issue is resolved quickly.
The Indian two-wheeler EV market is growing rapidly amidst several layers of government incentives. It is therefore important to sustain customer confidence in the safety of electric scooters sold in the country, especially fires due to battery issues. If the situation is not nipped in the bud, it is capable of stalling the growth and demand for Indian-manufactured electric scooters.

Design
With the exception of the color options, the Black Shark 5 and the Black Shark 5 Pro come with the same design. And it is a more elegant design if compared to the RS variant, more suitable for those who want a more sober phone. On the other hand, the Black Shark 5 RS is more unique with its horizontal camera module, especially in that yellow color variant. All of these phones are pretty thick and heavy, so they are not your deal if you are looking for a good phone to use with one hand or to keep in a pocket. All of them come with physical pop-up gaming triggers, very useful during gaming sessions in the most competitive games.
Display
The Black Shark 5 Pro comes with a superior display: it is an AMOLED panel with one billion colors, a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a 144 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The other two phones have the same specifications with the exception of the number of colors they are able to show: up to 16 million. Despite sporting AMOLED panels, all of these models come with side-mounted fingerprint readers instead of in-display sensors. They also pack good stereo speakers, but they lack the 3.5 mm audio jack for earphones.
Specs & Software
The Black Shark 5 Pro is the most powerful variant of the trio because it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 mobile platform by Qualcomm. The Qualcomm flagship SoC is paired with up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage composed of UFS 3.1 storage and an additional NVMe SSD. You get the SSD on the Black Shark 5 RS as well, but it comes with weaker mobile platforms: either the Snapdragon 888 or the Snapdragon 888 Plus, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM. The vanilla Black Shark 5 is even less powerful with its Snapdragon 870 and a maximum of 12 GB of RAM; it does not come with an SSD. All of these phones run Android 12 customized by Joy UI 13.
Camera
If you are looking for a high-end camera phone, then you should not opt for these gaming devices. The best of the trio remains a midrange camera phone, nothing more. The Black Shark 5 Pro wins thanks to its 108 MP main camera, while the vanilla version and the RS variants come with an inferior 64 MP camera. The vanilla version beats the RS variant thanks to a better 13 MP ultrawide sensor.
The Black Shark 5 Pro and the Black Shark 5 are equipped with a bigger 4650 mAh battery, so their battery life will be higher. The whole trio comes with 120W fast charging filling the battery in 15 minutes or less.
Price
Xiaomi Black Shark 5 RS starts from €470/$512, the vanilla version begins at €500/$544, and the Pro retails for €600/$653 in its base variant. Which one would you pick?

Oppo has announced the release of the ColorOS 12 beta version to two of these budget smartphones. The Oppo F17 and Oppo A73 were launched back in 2020 with ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10. Now, both of these devices are receiving Android 12 OS updates underneath the newest ColorOS.
The Oppo F17 and Oppo A73 are basically the same devices with different monikers. That said, the F17 is for India and it is getting the ColorOS 12 update, while the A73 users in Vietnam are receiving the ColorOS 12 update. Over 5000 users will get this update on a batch-by-batch basis starting from April 11 to April 15.
In order to apply this update, head to Settings > Software Update > Click on the Settings icon on the screen > Apply for Beta version > Update Beta version.
This update brings all the Android 12 and ColorOS 12 features like Material You, Dynamic color, Mic & Camera indicators, and more. After this beta update, F17 and A73 users are expected to get a stable update in the coming months.
Apart from these devices, Oppo recently released ColorOS 12 updates for the Oppo K7, Reno3 Pro 5G, Reno3 Vitality Edition, and Find X3 Pro Photographer Edition in China.
Recalling the Oppo F17 and A73, both phones were launched with 11nm process-based Snapdragon 662 SoC. The smartphones come with 16MP quad cameras and a 6.44-inch AMOLED panel. Both pack a 4,015mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
Samsung‘s latest Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has established its durability status after surviving a stress test. The test carried out by JerryRigEverything indicates a pretty solid tab. The device did not bend under excessive force even with its 14.6-inch display and minimal thickness. After going through all the paces, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra remained in one piece and largely unscathed.
The glass Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra got to level 6 scratches on the Mohs hardness scale. The added in-display fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra still worked after intense levels of scratches with level 7 Mohs mineral picks. The sides and back of the device are made from metal.
The final test item was the bend test which has seen some models crumble under the pressure. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra exhibited minimal flexes but still retained its rigidity and remained unbroken. This is impressive for the device given its size and minimal thickness.
The rugged rating of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra adds to the hype relating to the device. The larger S Pen stylus in the device houses the same internal hardware as those in the Galaxy Note series and the S22 Ultra. A plastic spacer is however in place to fill up the larger internal structure.

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi last week launched the MIJIA Water Purifier 1000G with a composition designed to deliver dependable water purification in Chinese homes. The product is presently listed on Xiaomi Mall and carries a price tag of 2299 yuan (~$361). The gadget will be on pre-sale from April 15.
The MIJIA Water Purifier 1000G adopts a 1000G ultra-large throughput and a water output speed of 2.65 L/min. With this setup, the device can fill a 150mL water cup in just 3.5 seconds. This is guaranteed to meet the daily needs of a large family.
It adopts a five-in-one composite filter element teaming up with an RO filter element to efficiently filter out bacteria and heavy metals in the water, allowing pregnant mothers and babies to drink directly. At the same time, the full-time no-stale water technology is adopted. When idle, the filtered pure water is returned to the RO membrane, and the filter element is washed repeatedly to improve the water quality and taste. The first cup of water can be drunk with confidence.
The service life of the PPC composite filter element is 2 years, and the service life of the RO filter element is as high as 5 years. The performance is stable and the water utilization rate is improved, which greatly reduces the cost of core replacement and saves money.
The ratio of pure wastewater is as high as 3:1, and the ratio of pure wastewater can also reach 2:1 when the water quality is relatively poor. Compared with ordinary 400G water purifiers, it saves about 2433 liters of water per year.
The faucet that comes with the Mijia water purifier 1000G comes with a smart screen display. You don’t need to open the cabinet. You only need to open the faucet to know whether the water quality and the filter element need to be replaced, making it easy for even the elderly to operate it conveniently.
The Mijia Water Purifier 1000G can be connected to the Mijia app from where users can check the water status at any time.

Vivo just held a launch conference in which it launched three new highly anticipated devices. One of the models includes the Vivo X Fold, which is the company’s first foldable smartphone that has apparently been in development for four years now. So let’s have a look.
Design & Display
The newly launched Vivo X Fold adopts an inward folding design. In other words, the device’s primary display is hidden when the smartphone is in its folded state. Although, users then have access to the smaller external display in this mode. The rear panel features a large rectangular island module that houses a circular camera sensor setup and other necessary sensors like the LED flash. The front of the device features a punch hole cutout along with curved edges. Interestingly, the device also features two ultrasonic fingerprint scanners as well as an alert slider on the side.
The brand has placed an emphasis on the hinge of its first foldable handset, which comes with an aerospace grade wing design. In the Rheinland folding test, the device was folded 300,000 times overall to check its durability. Furthermore, even if the user folds the device 80 times a day, the folding mechanism will still remain functional over the course of 10 years. Since it is the first model of its kind from the brand, it is not surprising that Vivo made no compromises on its build quality.
Talking about the display, the Vivo X Fold sports a large 8.03 inch E5 LTPO OLED 3.0 display with UTG that has a 120Hz refresh rate, 2K resolution, and a 4:3.5 aspect ratio. The screen also supports HDR10+ and comes with a 113 percent DCI P3 color gamut. On the other hand, the secondary screen is a 6.53 inch E5 OLED panel that has a Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, and 21:9 aspect ratio as well. Notably, both the external and internal display features a punch hole cutout. Notably, the smartphone’s display also received A+ rating from DisplayMate.
Specifications
Under the hood, the first foldable smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker runs on a custom made Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SPU and the Adreno 730 for graphics. To put things simply, the custom SPU is basically to enhance the security and privacy of the smartphone on a chip level. Additionally, this flagship grade SoC is paired with UFS 3.1 internal storage and LPDDR5 RAM.
Storage configurations include 12GB of RAM that will be paired with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The Vivo X Fold will run on the Android 12 operating system with the company’s custom UI on top. The handset is powered by a large 4,600mAh battery pack that supports up to 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The 66W fast charging can top up the device to full in just 37 minutes.
Camera
For photography, the device features a quad camera setup on the rear that includes Zeiss lens and T* coating. The primary camera is a Samsung GN5 50 megapixel sensor that has an f/1.75 aperture and OIS support, which is coupled with a 48 megapixel ultra wide angle lens that has an f/2.2 aperture, a 12 megapixel portrait lens (47mm focal length), and finally, a 5 megapixel periscopic telephoto lens that offers up to 5x optical zoom and up to 60x digital zoom.
