Recently, a new OPPO phone with PEYM00 model number was approved by the TENAA authority of China. The images of the phone that have appeared at the Chinese certification site revealed that it will be arriving as a K-series phone. A tipster has claimed that it will be a rebranded version of an existing Realme phone.
According to the tipster, the OPPO PEYM00 will be releasing in the market with the OPPO K9 Pro moniker. The rear image of the phone reveals that the “09-K Pro,” which further indicates that it will be a Pro version of the OPPO K9 that debuted in May in China.
OPPO K9 Pro TENAA
The tipster has claimed it will be rebranded version of the Realme GT Neo. It is known through its TENAA listing that it has a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ display, a 3.0GHz octa-core processor (could be Dimensity 1200), 8 GB / 12 GB of RAM, 128 GB / 256 GB of storage, and a 4,400mAh battery that seemingly supports 65W fast charging. It has a front camera of 32-megapixel, and its back panel has a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera unit.
These specs of the OPPO K9 Pro indicate that it will be a rebadged GT Neo. OPPO and Realme are unlikely to sell two phones with identical specs at the same time. It was found at the time of writing this post that the Realme GT Neo is no longer available for purchase in China. This indicates that the K9 Pro will be launching soon. Probably, Realme has no plans to sell the GT Neo again.

Xiaomi is again alive and kicking in the tablet market with two new models: Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro. They are two variants from the same series, but they are both high-end tablets. That is the main reason why a lot of people will have a hard time trying to understand which one to buy. Is it better to save some money for the vanilla version or spending more for the Pro variant makes more sense? We hope that this comparison between the two tablets will clear your ideas in regards. Given that they are similar tablets, the comparison will be mainly focused on the differences between them rather than which one is better or worse.

Pen support, keyboard support
Design
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro have exactly the same design. It includes flat borders just like the latest iPads, a very high screen to body ratio with a display covering more than 80% of the front panel, and a plastic unibody design unlike most of the premium tablets. They are very thin with a thickness of just 6.9 mm and they are also pretty lightweight. Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and 5 Pro support the pen and a magnetic keyboard, and they have a camera module that is aesthetically similar to those of the Mi 11 series. Despite they are not the most expensive tablets, they are definitely among the most beautiful ones and Xiaomi paid a lot of attention to their design.
Display
Just like the design, even the displays of these two tablets are exactly the same. A lot of people will hate the fact that they sport IPS panels: with these displays, you do not get the vivid colors provided by OLED panels. But they are amazing IPS panels and not average ones. They are able to show up to one billion colors with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, the HDR10 certification, and Dolby Vision support. The diagonal of the display is 11 inches, good for productivity but not excessively wide. If you use the keyboard, you can transform these tablets into mini laptops.
Specs & Software
The most important difference between the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and the Mi Pad 5 Pro in terms of hardware is not the performance, but the connectivity. The Pro variant comes in a configuration with 5G connectivity included and a SIM slot, while the vanilla Mi Pad 5 does not have 4G nor 5G connectivity at all. However, there is an important difference between their components as well. The vanilla version is equipped with a Snapdragon 860 chipset which is a high-end SoC, but it is inferior to the Snapdragon 865. With the Pro version, you get a Snapdragon 870 which is actually an upgrade of the Snapdragon 865, as well as 8 GB of RAM in the most expensive configuration (instead of just 6 GB provided by the vanilla version). The tablets run Android 11 customized by MIUI 12.5.
Camera
The 5G variant of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro is one of the best camera tablets in the market. It has a 50 MP main camera which is able to capture stunning shots in terms of detail and it can also record 4K videos. The 50 MP sensor is paired with a secondary 5 MP depth sensor useful for a better bokeh effect. The non-5G variants of the Mi Pad 5 Pro have a 13 MP main sensor which is way inferior to the above-mentioned 50 MP camera, always paired with a 5 MP depth sensor. The original Mi Pad 5 has a 13 MP camera as well, but it lacks a 5 MP depth sensor. Both the tablets have an 8 MP front camera which records 1080p videos.
Despite it is the lower-end model, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 has a slightly bigger battery with a capacity of 8720 mAh. But it is not a huge difference, so you do not get a huge boost in terms of battery life. That is the opposite if we talk about fast charging, given that there is a big power difference: the Mi Pad 5 supports 33W fast charging, while the Pro variant goes up to 67W.
Price
For now, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and its Pro variant are only available in China. The former has a starting price tag of €260/$305, while you need at least €330/$386 to buy the base variant of the latter. The Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 is naturally the inferior one. The Pro variant has a way better camera (if you choose the 5G version), optional 5G connectivity, and faster charging, as well as a better processor. If you need these features, go for the Pro variant, otherwise, you can get the same user experience with the vanilla version.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro vs Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro: PRO and CONS
Following the popularity of Apple’s MagSafe, Realme announced MagDart, its own take on magnetic wireless charging technology. Now, OPPO seems to be next to jump on the train according to a trademark application filing.
The MagVOOC trademark application was spotted by Twitter user Paras Guglani (via MySmartPrice). The listing doesn’t reveal much save for the date of application which is August 11, 2021, and the applicant which is OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications Co. Ltd.
From the trademark name which is a portmanteau of magnetic and VOOC, OPPO’s charging technology, we can safely presume that this is OPPO’s own magnetic wireless charging technology.
We don’t know if OPPO plans to launch any phone that supports magnetic wireless charging anytime soon. Wireless charging is not a popular feature among OPPO devices. The Find X3 and Find X3 Pro are the only OPPO phones announced this year that have support for wireless charging. So if we are going to see magnetic wireless charging on an OPPO phone, it will most likely be next year’s Find X phones.
Earlier today, Motorola announced two new phones in India – the Motorola Edge 20 and the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion. However, their more powerful sibling, the Motorola Edge 20 Pro didn’t tag along. Don’t fret, as it has been revealed the phone will launch in India.
The info was revealed on Twitter by the Country Head of Motorola India, Prashanth Mani. The tweet was a quoted reply to a tweet by another user who said he wished the Edge 20 Pro was announced too. The top executive replied that the phone will launch soon.
The Edge 20 Pro a.k.a Edge S Pro in China is a Snapdragon 870-powered phone with a 6.7-inch FHD+ 144Hz OLED display. That display also has a 576Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, SGS eye protection certification, DCI-P3 color gamut, and can display over a billion colors.
The processor is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage but we won’t be surprised if India gets a more affordable 8GB RAM variant. There is a 108MP primary rear camera, an 8MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and 50x superzoom, and a 16MP ultrawide angle camera that can also shoot in macro. Up in front is a 32MP camera.
Motorola ships the phone with a 4500mAh and supports 30W TurboPower fast charging. It also has the Ready For PC feature that is available on the Moto G100. The Motorola Edge 20 Pro runs My UX based on Android 11 and Motorola is promising two years of OS upgrades and security updates.
Reliance Jio announced the JioPhone Next back in June but not much has been said since then. The Next is a product of the partnership between Google and Reliance Jio to produce affordable Android smartphones. Although we are still in the dark on the full official specs list for it, some details of the JioPhone Next have surfaced online pertaining to its specifications and pricing. This is coming ahead of the launch slated for September 10.
A tipster has hinted that the smartphone will be priced at around Rs. 3,499 (~$47). This should make it the cheapest phone in its category if that pans out. Reliance Jio chairman Mukesh Ambani had earlier disclosed that the Next will rank as the most affordable smartphone not just in India but in the global market.
The tipster also shared some of the key specifications of the model. The model number of the yet-to-be-released Jio Phone Next is LS-5701-J and some of the specs available as per the latest leak include a Qualcomm 215 Mobile Platinum processor, Android 11 Go, Duo Go and Google Camera Go preinstalled, an HD+ screen resolution. We are still not sure what the screen size looks like. The dual SIM module supports dual 4G VoLTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2.
The camera setup of the smartphone consists of a 13MP OmniVision rear camera sensor and an 8MP front camera. which supports 1080P video recording. The smartphone will have 3GB of RAM while the internal storage capacity is not known yet. Battery specification and battery life are not known also.
The smartphone is definitely targeted at the low end of the spectrum in India. We await further development ahead of the September 10 launch date.
The renders of the phone leaked earlier, and they show a largely unchanged design save for the rear cameras that are now in a square housing. Another design change is the fingerprint scanner which is now on the side, doubling as a power button. The model that launched earlier this year has its scanner on the back.
With respect to the specifications revealed by Steve Hemmerstoffer in collaboration with Pricebaba, the Moto G50 5G codenamed Saipan will have a 6.5-inch 1600 x 720 display with a waterdrop notch. The front-facing camera is a 13MP sensor, carried over from its sibling.
Motorola has swapped the Snapdragon 480 5G for MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 chipset. There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The primary rear camera remains a 48MP sensor but the specs of the other two sensors were not disclosed. The Moto G50 5G will also have NFC, an audio jack, and be available in two colors dubbed Iron and Cosmo. It should run Android 11 out of the box.
There is no info yet about a launch date but it should not be far off and most likely won’t be a big announcement.

The smartphone is powered with MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor which couples an 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The last has not been heard about the much-hyped Apple car in the making. Recently Apple was reported to be in talks with Korean partners on the development of the Apple car, and more details are now available.
A Patent filed by Apple has revealed that Apple car owners can authorize other users to drive the car without releasing the keys. Indeed, there have been several Patents relating to the Apple car covering a wide array of concepts and components that have been filed.
Obviously, the Apple car will not need physical keys as it would be operated via an iPhone. So the car will have digital keys which would allow for key sharing. According to the patent documents, the system will allow someone else to drive your car without the owner divulging critical and confidential information.
1 of 6
To be clear, the new patent is not about sharing passcodes or critical access data that can be snooped and used by third parties. According to Apple, if access is controlled by secret data, the owner must communicate the secret data to the individual which may be insecure. Apple has instead explored a token-based framework powered by an iPhone using an app from the iPhone. Similar to a one-time passcode, it may only be used once and access to the car will be restricted after the use.
There are still some fine details lacking for this concept of transferred digital access.
What happens when a user who has been given one-time access to the car parks may be to go for groceries? Will he be able to restart the car?
Although we are still in the dark on the date of the unveiling of the Apple car, some sources claim 2025 as the launch date. Apple has however not made any definitive statement yet on the matter.
US tech giant Google has finally taken the wraps off the Pixel 5A 5G smartphone which has been in the news for several months. The device was apparently first announced in April but that was just to quell rumors that it had been discontinued. Nothing official has been said of the 5G smartphone until now.
The Google Pixel 5A 5G arrives with a few upgrades over the Pixel 4A 5G which it takes over from. Some of the improvements include a slightly bigger screen, a juicier battery, and an IP67 water resistance rating. Despite the improvements, the 5A 5G will retail at $50 less than the Pixel 4A 5G’s starting price. The 5A 5G is priced at $449 and will be on sale in the US and Japan from August 26.
Now a closer look at the specifications. The Pixel 5A sports a massive 6.34-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate support. There isn’t support for a 90Hz refresh rate despite rumors of one. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset which brings support for sub-6GHz 5G. The processor is paired with 6GB of RAM and there is 128GB of storage onboard.
The back panel houses a dual-camera setup comprising a 12.2-megapixel main shooter and a 16-megapixel ultrawide rear camera. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel front camera tucked under a punch-hole located at the top left corner of the display. The rear panel also houses a physical fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone.
The Pixel 5A 5G runs on the latest Android 11 and is guaranteed three years of OS upgrades and security patch support. Keeping the lights on is a 4,680mAh battery which Google claims can last up to a full day of typical use and if the Extreme Battery Saver mode is turned on, can go up to two days on a single charge. The 5A supports wired charging only and ships with an 18W charger in the box. Google says it will be the last Pixel phone that will ship with a charger in the box, apparently for environmental conservation reasons just like Apple and Samsung did.
As stated earlier, the Pixel 5A 5G is priced at $449 and will be on sale in the US and Japan from August 26. The phone will be offered in a sole “mostly black” color option but there will be four colorful cases sold separately to tweak things up. It will be sold exclusively on Google Store and through Google Fi.

Galaxy A52s 5G Design
The design has remained unchanged, so you get a flat Infinity-O AMOLED display with a hole in the center for the selfie camera. There are still four cameras on the back and they sit in a rectangular housing that is slightly raised. Buyers will be able to pick up the phone in four colors – Awesome Black, Awesome Mint, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White.
Galaxy A52s 5G Specifications
The Galaxy A52s 5G has a 6/5-inch FHD Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. There is a 32MP camera inside the hole in the display. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 778G processor and it is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

For the rear cameras, Samsung is keeping them at four – a 64MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide angle camera, a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 5MP f2.4 depth sensor.
The Galaxy A52s 5G has an in-display fingerprint scanner. It also has IP67 water and dust resistance. There is a 4500mAh battery under the hood along with support for 25W fast charging. There is also Easy Share in Galaxy Eco-System which is an enhanced Quick Share for sharing files.

Xiaomi reveals why it disqualified certain MIUI Beta testers in China. In an official announcement post on Mi Community, the company confirms that it was due to the new changes in Mi Community 3.0.
For those who don’t know, recently Xiaomi unveiled Mi Community 3.0 in China. The latest version of the company’s forum requires MIUI Beta testers to complete weekly tasks (includes feedback, polls, and others). If not fulfilled, these testers are kicked out of the beta program.
The first round of disqualification happened on August 16. Due to a loud outcry from testers, Xiaomi has now extended the time to complete tasks by two weeks. Additionally, the company is also allowing the kicked-out testers to once again join the beta program from next week.
Xiaomi also confirms that the new changes in the MIUI Beta program are meant to limit the number of testers. For the last 10 years, a huge number of users have been running MIUI Beta software. However, a very few set of users actively gave feedback. The company is aiming to fix this.
Original Story:
Xiaomi limited its MIUI Beta program to China in mid-2019. Since then, it has become difficult to enroll in the project in the company’s home country. Amidst this, out of nowhere, the firm disqualified multiple testers from the initiative yesterday (August 16).

According to a report by ITHome, Xiaomi kicked out a number of MIUI Beta testers in China without informing prior. As a result, these users are permanently stuck on the last week’s MIUI Beta release. They will be not receiving the upcoming beta builds and could not revert back to the stable channel without losing the data.
The only solution for them is to flash MIUI Stable Fastboot ROM after unlocking their device’s bootloader. However, this process will wipe their phone’s internal storage.
As of now, Xiaomi is yet to issue an official statement regarding this mishap. On the other hand, users are furious over the situation. Many testers took to Weibo to criticize Xiaomi for this action. They expressed dissatisfaction saying that the company could have informed the users beforehand.
Xiaomi is probably the only Android OEM known for releasing weekly beta builds of its mobile software. International fans felt dejected when the Chinese tech giant halted the MIUI Global Beta program. Unfortunately, the company has now also jeopardized its relationship with fans in its home country with the latest setback.
