In January, ZTE confirmed that its Axon branded flagship phone will be called the Axon 30 Pro. The handset had appeared with its A2022PG model number at the database of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) recently. Its Chinese variant with the A2022 model number has now received approval from the 3C authority of China.
The ZTE A2022’s 3C listing states that it is a 5G-ready device. It further reveals that the phone may arrive with support for 55W rapid charging. It has no other information on the specifications of the smartphone.
The Snapdragon 765G powered ZTE Axon 20 5G that debuted back in September 2020 was the world’s first phone to feature an in-display camera. The Axon 30 Pro is expected to launch as the world’s first flagship smartphone with an in-display camera. The handset will be driven by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform.
The Axon 30 Pro is expected to arrive with the second-generation version of in-screen camera technology. A recent leak suggested that it could be equipped with a big display of 6.92 inches. It is unclear whether the phone supports FHD+ or QHD+ resolution, but it is speculated to arrive with 120Hz refresh rate support.
The Axon 30 Pro also promises to offer a stellar photography experience. There are speculations that it could be equipped with a 200-megapixel camera. The device will boot to Android 11 OS. It could be equipped with a 4,700mAh+ battery.
After its 3C certification, it is likely to soon appear in TENAA’s database in the coming days. It is still unclear whether it will be launching later in March or in the coming month.
The rumor mill has been leaking information on the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones for a couple of months. Recent reports claimed that Samsung will announce these A-series smartphones in March. The company has now sent out invites for the upcoming Galaxy Awesome Unpacked event that will take place at 10 AM ET on March 17. It is highly likely to announce the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 smartphones through the upcoming virtual unveiling event.
The Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72 will be arriving as the successors to the well-received Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 smartphones from last year. Both phones are expected to arrive as the first IP67 rated A-series smartphones. The Galaxy A52 and A72 are likely to feature 90Hz refresh rate supporting displays. Reports have claimed that the Galaxy A52 will come in 4G and 5G versions, but the Galaxy A72 will only come in 4G.

There has been a growing need for high-quality camera sensors that could be used in industrial applications where high-pixel requirements eclipse the existing capacity of conventional image sensors. In pursuit of its desire to impact on the industrial equipment camera market, Sony is making a huge statement with the release of its CMOS image sensor which can be deployed in a number of important industrial applications, as it seeks to solve some of the existing problems encountered with filming on such a large scale. The IMX661 image sensor has a global shutter function and has the highest pixel count of 127.68 megapixels.
This intervention by Sony into the industrial camera equipment space for greater efficiency is expected to produce some dramatic changes in the industry. With this new technology, coupled with its Pregius shutter pixel technology, Sony says, the IMX661 will enable high-speed image processing at a pace about four times faster than what obtains presently. The color, as well as the black and white version of the image sensor, is expected to begin shipment between April and May of 2021.
The image sensor is equipped with an array of signal processing functionalities that makes it an obvious choice in several industrial applications. The various functionalities make it possible for the device to be deployed to various high-speed and ordinarily difficult to access scenarios, with ease.
The CMOS image sensor IMX661 is clearly a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the research and development (R&D) unit of the Japanese electronics giant. Sony’s R&D unit performed greatly in conceptualizing and designing this innovative product that snugly fills the huge void currently existing in the complex world of industrial camera applications. The forecasts are bright that the IMX661 will be well received by the industry, as orders are being received and shipments will commence in April 2021.
The world of action cameras has been in a state of constant development as equipment manufacturers seek innovative ways to improve their various product offerings in that segment of the tech market. Insta360 is not ready to be left behind and has been making strong inroads by releasing a number of compact and elegant 360 action cams. Although previous versions of the action cam had been bogged with several drawbacks ranging from shorter recording capacity to lack of memory and several other fine details, the newest release from Insta360, which is already being hailed as the World’s smallest action camera, the Insta360 Go 2 comes well loaded to match the hype it has enjoyed so far.
The compact Insta360 Go 2 is a compact, thumb-sized magnetic camera which is a huge departure from its predecessors in terms of improvements and overall performance. There is a huge leap from its predecessors in terms of the maximum clip length that can be accommodated, which goes as high as 15 minutes with the basic stabilization mode activated, while it has a maximum clip length of 10 minutes with the Flowstate stabilization mode, while the base version had a meagerly 30 seconds limit when it was first unveiled which was later upgraded to 60 seconds in later versions.
Indeed putting the original Go and the much improved Go 2 side by side, the specs are miles apart. The Go 2 comes with greater accessibility, with a better layout of the click button on the front, improved waterproof capability, which makes it very versatile for use underwater up to depths of 13 feet, a run time of about 30 minutes, and a greater visual quality in different camera modes.
The charging case adds some dimensionality to the Go 2 as it serves as both a kickstand and a Bluetooth remote. It can also extend the runtime up to 150 minutes of basic stabilization mode when the camera is used while attached to the case. There are lots of accessories that come with the package, as well as some optional ones, which are all meant to give the Go 2 the needed bite and power.
The basic Go 2 is now available for order at $300 from Insta360’s official website. However, there is talk of the release of a Minions edition of the Go 2 in the second half of 2021, which is expected to go for around $330 exclusively on the Insta360 website for a few countries it is believed. The Minions edition will be cooler and a more fitting culmination of the efforts of Insta360 in developing high-quality action cams.
Xiaomi is expected to launch the Mi 10S on March 10 and ahead of the launch, the company has disclosed on its official WeChat page that the device will be a charging powerhouse. In clear terms, the Mi 10S will come with fast charging on three fronts – a 50W wired charging support, 30W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging support.
The battery capacity of the device is yet to be revealed but with a big battery, you won’t have cause to worry about your device while on a road trip o r there is an outage. The phone can be used to charge other devices and is swift manner.
The flexible fast charging options are not the only interesting feature to look up to on the Mi 10S. Xiaomi’e CEO Lei Jun had earlier revealed three exciting features that the device pack. One of them is that the Mi 10S will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. Secondly, the device will utilise the legendary Harmon Kardon speakers. It is no surprise then, tat an early DXOMark audio ranking placed the Mi 10S as having the best audio presently, even before it is official.
Finally, the design will be similar to that of the headline-topping Mi 10 Ultra launched last year. In that case, the phone should have a 6.67-inch 90Hz AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution. The selfie camera on the Mi 10 Ultra is a 20MP shooter while at the back , there is a quad-camera setup featuring a 108MP primary camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
TCL earlier today held a product launch conference where it unveiled its flagship Mini LED smart TV dubbed TCL X12 8K Mini LED Starlight Smart Screen. The smart TV is indeed a high-end product that utilizes an 85-inch screen. The price is also hefty – 9,999 yuan (~$1,536).
The TCL X12 8K Mini LED Smart Screen is said to be the world’s first OD Zero Mini LED smart screen as well as the thinnest Mini LED smart TV around. It is also the Mini LED smart screen with the most LED chips.
The TV uses OD Zero technology which refers to the distance between the TV backlight and the screen. The OD value of ordinary LED TVs is about 20-30 mm. TCL X12 8K Mini LED TV is said to be capable of achieving “zero distance”. Thus, even though it is a huge 85-inch super-sized screen, the thickness can still be kept within 1cm, which is very slim.
The mini LED TV is equipped with 96,000 LED chips with an amazing brightness of 2000nits. It also comes with 1920 physical partitions, 10,000,000:1 high contrast ratio and can output high-precision picture presentation. In terms of picture quality, the TCL X12 8K Mini LED Smart Screen uses Quantum Dot Pro technology, with an ultra-high color gamut of 157% (BT.709).
For audio, the TCL X12 8K Mini LED star screen is equipped with theater-level Onkyo 5.1.2 Hi-Fi audio, 8 channels, and 25 unit speakers, and the subwoofer unit has a cavity of 7 liters.
In addition, the TCL X12 8K Mini LED Starlight Smart Screen is equipped with a 48-megapixel 3D ToF camera, the industry’s first 3D ToF camera, which can more accurately recognize air gestures, support user play and pause gestures, and can also accurately recognize the person’s viewing posture and distance.
There is no word yet as to when it will be launched for sale.
Chrome OS is 10 years old and to celebrate, Google is rolling out some new features to the operating system. These new features include Phone Hub, Quick Answers, an improved clipboard, and more. Here are the key new features coming to Chrome OS:
Phone Hub
With Phone Hub, users will be able to control their connected phones from their Chromebooks. There will be a phone icon right next to the status information pill. When you click it, you will get information such as network signal, battery level, and Quick Settings shortcut for Hotspot, ring mode, and a way to easily locate your phone. It will also show the last two open Chrome tabs from your phone and also allow you to respond to texts from your device
Screen Capture and an Annotation mode
Users will be able to record what is on their screen. They will be able to access this feature from a tile in the Quick Settings menu. You will be able to quickly access recorded videos or screenshot items from a Tote space in the Chrome OS Shelf.
Wi-Fi Sync
The new update makes it easier to connect to Wi-Fi networks. If your phone or other Chrome OS device with the same Google account has been connected to a Wi-Fi network, you don’t have to enter the password for that network on your Chromebook again. With Wi-Fi Sync, your device connects automatically to the trusted network. The feature can be accessed by going to Settings > Connected devices. Click the arrow next to the phone and turn on Wi-Fi Sync.
Media Controls
Google has added media controls to the Quick Settings many, making it easy to control the playback of whatever you are listening to.
Another new feature is redesigned icons. Icons on the shelf and in the app launcher are now circular or placed in a circle with a white background. There are also new icons for the calculator and canvas app.
Improved Clipboard
Chrome OS gets an improved clipboard that shows the last five things you copied including images. Copied items, as well as recent downloads, screenshots, and pinned files, will appear in a space called Tote which is a sort of holding space.
Quick Answers
When you right-click on a word, Chrome OS will provide a definition or translation of the said word. Depending on what is highlighted, it will also provide the unit conversion.
Nearby Share
When Google announced Nearby Share for Android devices last year, it said the feature will be available later for Chromebooks. The feature will allow you to share apps, photos, and links to nearby Chromebooks and Android devices. Unfortunately, this feature is still touted as coming soon.
These features and more are rolling out with the Chrome OS 89 update.
Several flagship killers are hitting the shelves in China this year. And some of them come with amazing top-tier specifications, not only in the hardware department. One of them is definitely the iQOO 7, providing the fastest charging technology ever seen in the market and even a high-end camera. But there is a more famous phone released by Xiaomi which should hit the global market soon: the Redmi K40 Pro. Did Vivo realize a better flagship killer this year or you should go for the latest device from Xiaomi’s brand? Here is a specs comparison that will list the differences and the potentialities of each device.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Dual SIM slot, 5G
Design
Both Redmi K40 Pro and Vivo iQOO 7 come with a great design. They feature a non-invasive camera module, a high screen-to-body ratio, and a punch-hole display with narrow bezels. But the BMW edition of the iQOO 7 is simply outstanding. The BMW Edition features a unique design including a stripe with the colors of the brand. The Vivo iQOO 7 has a more compact body than the Redmi K40 Pro, but the latter is thinner and lighter, despite featuring a bigger battery. Further, with the K40 Pro, you get the IP53 certification which proves that the phone is splash resistant and dust resistant.
Display
The displays of the Redmi K40 Pro and the Vivo iQOO 7 have similar specifications. We are talking about two AMOLED panels with a Full HD+ resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification, as well as a high brightness. In both cases, we are talking about high-end displays, but not flagship-class panels. The phones feature an in-display fingerprint reader. Besides its good display, the K40 Pro features stereo speakers, while Vivo iQOO 7 does not.
Specs & Software
Vivo iQOO 7 and Redmi K40 Pro are equipped with the best processor you can get in 2021: the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform by Qualcomm. On the Redmi K40 Pro, it is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage (UFS 3.1), while the Vivo iQOO 7 has up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. If we only consider the hardware, the Vivo iQOO 7 wins in its higher-end configuration. The handsets run Android 11 with a highly-customized user interface.
Camera
On the camera side, the Vivo iQOO 7 is superior. It packs a triple camera including a 48 MP main sensor with OIS, a 13 MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and a 13 MP ultrawide camera. With the Redmi K40 Pro, you do not get a telephoto sensor, neither OIS. That is why the iQOO 7 is able to provide a better photo quality. But the Redmi K40 Pro and its 64 MP triple camera have an interesting advantage: they can record videos in 8K resolution.
The Redmi K40 Pro surely offers a longer battery life in all of the scenarios simply because it features a bigger 4520 mAh battery. The Vivo iQOO 7 has just 4000 mAh, but as mentioned in the intro, it supports the fastest charging technology in the market: with a power of 120W, the phone is able to charge from 0 to 100 percent in just 15 minutes! Do you prefer having a bigger battery or faster charging?
Price
The base variants of the Redmi K40 Pro and iQOO 7 are priced at about €480/$580 in China. We are unable to pick a definitive winner for this comparison because it depends on your actual needs. I would personally choose the Vivo iQOO 7 due to its 120W fast charging technology and better cameras: it is a more innovative phone and I believe it offers a higher value for money, especially because of its cameras. On the other hand, the Redmi K40 Pro offers a more satisfying battery life, stereo speakers, and the IP53 certification which makes it splash and dust resistant. In each case, you will get a perfect flagship for gaming and advanced usage patterns.

Fitbit has announced its first product following its acquisition by Google. The new Fitbit Ace 3 is a fitness tracker for kids and its price tag is a lot higher than a lot of fitness trackers currently available.
Priced at almost $100, the Fitbit Ace 3 is targeted at kids aged 6 and up. It comes more than two years after the last model, the Ace 2. The new model has a brighter display, better battery life, and a do not disturb mode. It also has new fun and animated watch faces that change and grows as a child progresses with his/her goal.
The fitness tracker packs a PMOLED display that sits in a band made of flexible silicone. It connects via Bluetooth 4.2 and is compatible with both Android (7.0+) and iOS (12.2+) devices. There is a 3-axis accelerometer inside as well as a vibration motor. Although it has a sensor for heart rate monitoring, the feature is deactivated and can not be turned on
The Fitbit Ace 3 has a pedometer and will track your child’s daily activities. You can set family and friends’ challenges (steps or distance) and also send messages to each other within the app. Parents can also set reminders for kids to move if they have been sitting for too long. There are virtual badges for won challenges. The Fitbit Ace 3 also has sleep tracking, bedtime reminders, and silent alarms.
Fitbit says it is water-resistant up to 50 meters (can be worn in the pool and ocean) and it has a battery life of 8 days. For kids who own a smartphone, they will also get call alerts on their device. The Fitbit App has a kid view that shows stats, badges, and clock faces.
The Fitbit Ace 3 is available in two colors – Black+Sport Red and Cosmic Blue+Astro Green. Fitbit says that two Minions Bands (in Blue and Black with yellow buckles) will be available later. Straps will be sold for $29.95 while the device itself is $99.95. It can be pre-ordered now from the Fitbit online store (not available on the Google store) but it won’t ship until March 15.
Recently, OPPO CPH2197 passed several certifications and it is said to be the OPPO A74 5G smartphone. Today, renders and specs of the device have been leaked and it looks similar to the upcoming OPPO F19 smartphone.
As reported by mobielkopen.net, the OPPO A74 will launch in 4G and 5G versions. Out of this, the 5G version is said to come in two colors- Fluid Black and Space Silver. And the 4G version will debut in Prism Black and Midnight Blue options.
Talking about the renders themselves, we see a triple-camera setup on the back. There is a 48MP AI Camera etched beside the sensors. The layout, colors are a lot similar to the OPPO F19 that was recently teased by OPPO India.
Yesterday, the company launched the OPPO F19 Pro series where it also revealed that a watered-down variant OPPO F19 would be launching soon. Its rear design had a similar shade and 48MP triple-camera layout like the OPPO A74 4G above. You can compare the images below:

OPPO F19 teaser
Well, this is not the first time OPPO has rebadged a device. In fact, the company silently debuted the OPPO A73 as a rebadged version of the OPPO F17 in 2020. Hence, the successor in 2021, at least the 4G version, could be a rebadged version too. Do note that this is our early guess and hence, take it with a pinch of salt for now.
That said, you can take a look at the other renders of the OPPO A74 4G and OPPO A74 5G versions below:

As for specs, the report says that the OPPO A74 4G & 5G versions will measure 169.2 x 74.7 x 8.4 mm with a weigh 190 grams. This suggests that the device will be a bit thicker, heavier, and feature a bigger display(could be 6.8-inches) than the predecessor, OPPO A73 5G.
Further, both the variants will likely have storage up to 128GB. Other expected specs include a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, ColorOS based on Android 10 on 4G model, and Android 11 OS on the 5G device. Let’s wait for more info in the coming days.
Having a pet at home is rapidly becoming a new way of life for more and more young people. A recent survey shows that China is already the world’s third-largest pet market. Also, about 70% of pet owners are aged between 20 and 35 years which is an indication that those born after the 90s have become the main force in pet owners.
Although pets make amazing companions, hair loss can be irritating and makes it difficult to clean up everywhere on the bed and sofa. In addition, if the pet’s local hair such as the soles of the feet and ears are not cleaned up frequently, dead spots will breed in these areas.
In response to this, Xiaomi Youpin has launched the Maother G2 Pet Multifunctional Hair Trimmer with a retail price of 699 yuan (~$107) and a crowdfunding price of only 399 yuan (~$61).
The pet hair trimmer combines the functions of trimming, care, and cleaning into one. It also comes with five different brush heads that perform various functions. The trimmer itself utilizes imported alloy blades which combines comfort with a sharp blade, and will not pinch or pull hair.
In addition, it comes with four different sizes of limit combs, from 6mm, 12mm, 18mm, and 24mm, to meet different styling needs. It also comes with a built-in suction motor with strong adsorption force, low vibration, and low noise. There is a 1L dust cup inside as well which can be dismantled easily to empty the trimmed hairs.
The product is presently available on the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding page.

When Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 flagship earlier this ear, the company skipped the Mi 11 Pro which used to be a part of the flagship series right from time. The company didn’t even make any information available if it will launch a Pro version for the Mi 11.
A Weibo tipster has now revealed that the Mi 11 Pro will be launched in mid-March. He also disclosed that the flagship model will be launched alongside the Mi 11 Pro Ultra. This is still a rumor but it aligns with a previous rumor that the Mi 11 Pro will launch in March. Xiaomi is yet to reveal any detail about the launch.
The Mi 11 Pro is said to retain the design style of the Mi 11 but will have some upgrades in areas such as the camera and charging technology. The Mi 11 Pro will have a periscope telephoto lens and 120W fast charging technology just like on the Mi 10 Extreme Commemorative edition. Further, the Mi 11 Pro is expected to pack a 6.81-inch 2K quad curved display with a resolution of 3200x1440p. The display will support 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate.
Recently, a set of protective cases said to be for the Mi 11 Pro appeared online. The renders give us a look at the rear camera design of the Mi 11 Pro. The leak shows the camera will be similar to the Mi 11 with three sensors but at the bottom, the square-shaped module solidifies rumors of a periscope camera onboard the device.
In addition, the Mi 11 Pro will also have an improved main camera sensor. It will reportedly launch with Samsung’s latest ISOCELL GN2 sensor, which has 50-megapixels and a 1/2.12-inch ultra-large aperture which is currently the largest in the industry.

This goes in line with the earlier Geekbench that showed ‘renoir’ meaning the laptop will have custom-made APU(Zen 2 architecture) and Vega GPU on the AMD versions.
These are said to be built on the 7nm process and should have a TDP(Thermal Design Power) of 15W. The laptop version having both these CPUs is said to come with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage.
The intel version, however, will have the latest 11th-gen Tiger lake CPUs Core i5-1145G7 and Core i7-1185G7. Interestingly, Microsoft will give the users to fuse the 32GB of RAM and 1TB SSD only with intel versions of the Surface Laptop 4.
That said, we can expect both the AMD and Intel models to be available in 13.5-inch and 15-inch variants as mentioned above. Other common features include Windows Hello, Surface Pen and Dial compatibility, ambient light sensor.

HONOR sells tablets across different price segments. The brand’s mid-range tablets go by the name of HONOR Pad. The last model in the series known as HONOR Pad 6 was announced in July 2020. This tablet is expected to get a successor called HONOR Pad 7, as per a Chinese blogger (鹏鹏君驾到) on Weibo.
According to him, the upcoming HONOR Pad 7 will be available for purchase in China in March itself. The latest model will feature a similar design as the last year’s HONOR V6 flagship tablet with some new highlights compared to its predecessor.
Lastly, although the blogger did not mention any of its specs, he did say that the forthcoming HONOR Pad 7 will be optimized for Multi-screen Collaboration. Additionally, he even posted a mockup picture.
Going by the previous model, we can expect the new mid-range HONOR tablet to sport a 10-inch+ LCD panel, stylus support, mid-range HiSilicon or MediaTek SoC, stereo speakers, 5,000mAh+ battery, Magic UI 4.0 based on Android 10, and more.
Drone maker DJI technology currently dominates the consumer drone market, controlling about 60% of the market. The US government recently restricted the company’s access to chips and other components by placing it in the same entity that had Huawei, ByteDance, SMIC, and others.
The US ban is already taking its toll on the company’s North American business, according to a Reuters report. The report shows that DJI’s North American business concern is presently plagued by internal wrangling which is an offshoot of the US ban.
Although DJI still performing well in the market, the company decided to cut its staff strength to reflect the ban. One-third of its entire staff strength of 200 persons in the US were reportedly laid off. As a result, some key managers decided to resign and take their services to rival companies. For instance, the head of DJI’s R&D team is reported to have resigned in February as a result of his displeasure over the job cuts. After the resignation, the company is said to have laid off the remaining ten R&D staff at its Palo Alto, California flagship research center.
Although some of the key execs who have resigned projects that the ban could affect the growth of the company but DJI’s founder Frank Wang insists that the company’s North American sales were growing strongly.
“Despite misleading claims from competitors, our enterprise customers understand how DJI products provide robust data security. Despite gossip from anonymous sources, DJI is committed to serving the North American market,” he added.
The US ban has led to the growth of rivals such as US firm Skydio but the company focuses on military drones. Thus, DJI’s market share in the consumer drone market may not be under too much stress.
