Doogee F3 Pro now available to preorder for $159.9

doogee-f3-pro-sale-660x330

Yet again Doogee strikes with their F3 Pro, a budget flagship that will impress you with the tricks that doesn’t not even their competitors offer. It has some ‘Pro’ features over its sibling Doogee F3 that includes a RAM boost from 2GB to 3GB and from 720p to 1080p display. Both the phones are eye catching with the company’s ‘zero bezel’ approach that some customers are logging discomfort.

The phone has  MTK6753, a 64-Bit Octa Core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and the camera seems to be made by Samsung. The battery in both of the flagships seems to be low as compared to its rival Lenovo K3 Note which has a 3000mAh battery as compared to F3’s 2200mAh.

Nevertheless the phone offers premium features and the company hopes to grab a spot on the market with it. The phone is available for pre order from Geekbuying.com and will start shipping to you from August 17, 2015.

ZTE’s New Teaser For The V5 Launch Confirms Snapdragon SoC, Large Battery & Storage

ZTE is aggressively promoting its upcoming launch of the ZTE V5 series flagship. In fact, the company wants to directly compete (and beat) the Meizu M2 which will be announced before the end of this month. So, it looks like the new V5 series model will be targeted at the mid-range crowd (1000 Yuan?).

zte v5 teaser specs

Now the company has just given out a few details about the upcoming handset. The ZTE V5 series flagship is reportedly coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset with a large battery and large storage. Of course, this information isn’t specific, but it does give us an idea about the device. If we were to speculate, then we would expect a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset inside, with around 3500mAh battery and probably 32GB of storage.

Well, this isn’t the only details we have about the device. A few hours later, the company revealed more details about the handset. So, now we know that the V5 model will run on a customized version of Android 5.1, support all the three carries in China, comes with fingerprint ID and finally, feature an all metal body.

Interestingly, some of these features were already revealed to us, thanks to the images of the device that leaked recently. The phone had an all metal body, with a fingerprint sensor at the back. So, the leaked images could very well turn out to be the real deal.

zte v5 02

Anyways, since ZTE is eager to tease about its upcoming V5 flagship, we will wait and see if there are any other interesting features on the device. Pricing is one thing that we are particularly interested at the moment, because it has to be anywhere below 999 Yuan to compete with Meizu’s Blue Charm range. Anyways, we will keep you guys updated with more information in the coming days.

You can check out more images of the upcoming V5 handset (leaked) from here.

ZUK Z1 Passes Through TENAA, Comes With A Physical Home Button

Just a few hours after CEO Chang Cheng revealed the first renders of the ZUK Z1, the device hit TENAA. This means, we have the full set of images of the flagship, and the design is similar to the renders shown earlier.

ZUK Z1

According to the images revealed by TENAA, the flagship will feature an iPhone 6 like design with a metal frame with smooth round edges going around the whole body. The front features a basic design, however you can see the rectangular physical home button just below the display. This will reportedly feature the company’s innovative UTouch tech.

Coming to the back, there will be a round camera sensor on top with color temperature flash. Like we saw in the render, the ZUK logo will be located near the bottom. Today’s renders also revealed a slightly curved back, which is probably because of the 2.5D glass back. Further, there was the reversible USB Type-C 3.0 port at the bottom with speakers and microphones on its either side.

While TENAA didn’t reveal the full tech specs of the device, the Chinese website Anzho reports that the ZUK Z1 will feature Snapdragon 808 processor and a large 4100mAh battery. Its hard to judge the exact thickness of the device from these pictures, but they look quite normal. It would really be an achievement if the company managed to pack in such a large battery in a decently sized device.

Along with these specs, we know a lot about the upcoming device. It will come with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, dual SIM dual Standby, USB 3.0 Type-C port, and U-Touch fingerprint ID. What we don’t know is the camera size, but we hope to get those details too in the coming days.

OPPO Will Expand To North America With A SmartWatch & Selfie Stick

OPPO is having a Selfie Party in Los Angeles next week. The company has apparently sent out invites for the event with an image of the selfie stick, hinting that its recently announced product could make it to the American shores in the coming days.

oppo selfie event

The company announced the new selfie stick back in May. It will clamp to your phone, connect via your 3.5mm headphone port and will extend to help you capture the perfect selfies. There’s a shutter button on the handle, which lets you take pictures, ideal for group selfies.

oppo selfie stick

Given that everyone is obsessed with selfies these days, it might be a good idea to launch its own selfie stick in North America. OPPO is also known to have amazing front facing shooters to seal the deal, like in the case of OPPO N1 which features a rotating camera. The rear 13MP shooter comes forward when you want to take front facing shots. So, you get the same high level picture quality from the front, as you usually do with your rear camera.

OPPO smartwatch

The company is also said to release its own smartwatch at the event. Remember back in March, we heard a rumor about an OPPO smartwatch which charges in just five minutes? Well, this could be that watch.Another good news was that the watch reportedly comes with Android Wear. So, July 28th event could indeed be interesting. Stay tuned.

Elephone UI fast, clean & good looking? lets see

Up until now Elephone have chosen to include a near stock version of android on their phones, but that could all be about to change.

We have received a video showing the new ElE UI in action, it looks very clean, almost MIUI like and features some really nice touches like real time weather widgets, user definable icon sizes, slide to change from app folder to app folder, slide up on desktop to add widgets, hundreds of online themes (Elephone have also advised that the source code for this will be released allowing people to create their own UI’s), support for popular search engines.

Elephone have not yet announced when the UI will be released, or indeed which phones it will support, but I for one would love to see the UI appearing on the P8000 when it is released tomorrow (25th July).

ZUK CEO Reveals First Renders of the ZUK Z1 Flagship

From what we have heard till now, Lenovo’s newly launched brand, ZUK is going to release a pretty high-end flagship, ZUK Z1 next month. The company has already confirmed a bunch of awesome features on the device like a 4000mAh+ battery and USB Type-C port. Now, just a few days before the release, ZUK CEO Chang Cheng has given us a glimpse of what the new ZUK flagship will look like.

zuk z1 design

He just released a new render of the ZUK Z1 on weibo which tells us a bit about the design of the device. We can see a metal frame that goes around the body as well as a slightly curved back. From the image, it looks like the back is 2.5D glass. At the bottom, there’s the USB Type-C reversible port as well as speakers on one side and microphone on the other.

One thing to note here is that, the Type-C port that you see in the picture, is not your regular port. It actually supports USB 3.0 specification which means faster data transfer speeds (up to 5Gbps theoretical) and faster charging speed.

The phone is also said to come with a physical home button, with U-Touch fingerprint ID integrated. However, we can’t see the button since the render just shows the back. Also, the battery life is said to be amazing, thanks to its large capacity.

zuk z1 launch date

The company will announce the ZUK Z1 flagship on August 11, but we expect more details before the release.

Rumor: Xiaomi To Release MIUI 7 On August 16

Back in February, we reported that Xiaomi’s ROM, MIUI had crossed 100 million users worldwide. That number will have increased significantly in the past 6 months for sure. Despite its tremendous popularity, the company is yet to announce the new version of MIUI 7 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. However, it looks like the release date is coming near as new rumors state that Xiaomi is all set to announce MIUI 7 on August 16.

MIUI-logo

According to the leakster called Leaksfly, Xiaomi will announce the new MIUI 7 version on August 16. If you have been following Xiaomi for the past few years, you would know that the date is special. Almost every year on August 16, the company keeps a big conference with new discounts and promotions. It also happens to be the date when the company announces its new MIUI version annually. For example, the company released MIUI v6 last year on the same date. So, it makes sense for the company to continue with the tradition and release the new OS.

Most of Xiaomi’s smartphones are expected to be upgraded to the new OS. So, phones like Mi3, Mi4, Mi4i, Xiaomi Mi Note series and Redmi Note 4G could be upgraded to this Android 5.1 powered version after the release.

Unfortunately, the company is yet to confirm this news. So, stay tuned for more details.

Elephone P8000 vs iPhone 6 Metal chassis structure bend test

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bzv6qPWpabA

Elephone have sent over a video that shows (in a non-scientific) the differences in strength between the P8000 chassis and the iPhone 6 chassis.

Whilst we cannot be certain of the exact amounts of pressure being exerted upon the different frames, it does appear that the P8000 has a distinct advantage over the iPhone 6 (and most likely over the P7000 that came before).

With the release date set for the 25th of July we should hopefully find out more very soon.

ZTE V5 Launch Invitation Also Comes With Nokia 1110, But There’s A Twist!

ZTE released a teaser a couple of days back for its upcoming launch of the ZTE V5 series smartphones on July 29. Now, the company has sent out invitations for the event, and this is when things get interesting. Remember the invite for the Meizu M2 last week? It came with Nokia 1110 inside! And guess what, the invite sent out by ZTE for its V5 series launch also come with Nokia 1110.

zte v5 event invite 2

But there’s another twist. Apparently, the company is sending out smashed Nokia 1110s with the invite. Now, why are these Chinese companies so obsessed with Nokia 1110? Apparently, this was one of the best selling phone in the market at that time. So, the phone has a significant place in the industry.

zte event invite

It looks like ZTE is trying to send a message here. It wants to defeat the Meizu M2 and a smashed Nokia 1110 seems to be the best way to convey this message.

zte v5 invite

Anyways, we will have to wait and see what both the companies have in store for us at the end of this month. Once again, things are getting interesting near the month end, so stay tuned!

Meanwhile, alleged images of the new ZTE V5 model were leaked recently featuring an all metal body. You can check that out from here.

OnePlus 2 Night Camera Samples Compared With The LG G4

OnePlus is doing everything in its power to prove that the upcoming OnePlus 2 is really a flagship killer. One thing we are still unsure about is its camera, but we have seen enough samples to guess that its going to be at par with current flagships. To prove this point, the company CEO Liu Zuohu had earlier compared the OnePlus 2 night camera samples and macro samples with iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy S6 respectively.

oneplus 2

Today, the CEO has revealed a few more night camera samples from the OnePlus 2 and directly compared with the mighty LG G4. To be honest, the OP2 night camera performance looks way better than the first generation model, but we can’t say much given that these samples come directly from the CEO. So, they are bound to be good. We will have to look at the real life performance to make conclusions about its camera unit.

As you can see from below, the camera performance of the OP2 is comparable to the LG G4. We can’t really say that it beats the G4, but its quite close.

We leave it up to you to decide which ones better. You can check out the samples from down below.

Xiaomi Sold Over 5.1 Million Redmi 2A Units In the First Three Months!

Xiaomi has released so many products in the past few months, that its quite hard to keep a track of all of them. Among the releases this year, the Xiaomi Redmi 2A was particularly special because it was the cheapest Redmi device in the market. In fact, it still is one of the cheapest smartphones with pretty good specs.

xiaomi redmi 2a

Naturally, given that the phone retailed for just 499 Yuan ($80), it was destined to sell like hotcakes. And today, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has just confirmed the numbers. He revealed a few minutes ago that Xiaomi has sold over 5.1 million units of the Redmi 2A in the first three month of launch. This is a significant achievement for a new product like the 2A which yet to reach a number of international markets. To give you a perspective, Meizu managed to sell only about 8.9 million devices in the entire first half of 2015.

redmi 2a shipments

Another thing to note here is the presence of the local Leadcore L1860C quad-core chipset inside the Redmi 2A. Instead of the traditional Qualcomm or Mediatek chips, the company went with the Leadcore SoC to limit the cost and looks the strategy worked well.

xiaomi redmi 2a 2

Anyways, it will be interesting to see if the momentum continues in the coming months too.

UMI Hammer S Coming In August: USB-Type C, $129 Price Tag & Other Specs Confirmed

UMI Hammer has been a tremendous success for the company. Although its been only a few months since the device hit the markets, the company is already prepping for the release of its next generation model, the UMI Hammer S. The device brings a lot of needed upgrades in the series, and keeps the same pricing.

umi hammer s launch

Earlier today, UMI Official revealed more details about its UMI Hammer S model via its Facebook page. The phone is confirmed to feature the reversible USB Type-C port, usually found only in high-end flagships. Further, it will come with a 5.5-inch display, with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Under the hood, there will be the MT6735 quad-core chipset.

USB Type-C isn’t the only premium feature that you get at this price. The UMI Hammer S also comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back. Given the super cheap $129 price tag, the phone turns out to be a great option for potential buyers. The design is also pretty attractive, further making it a great buy.

The UMI Hammer S will be hitting the markets sometime in August, which is just a few weeks away. By then, we are sure to get more details about the specifications of the device like the battery, camera and the display resolution.

Stay tuned for more details.

Huawei Might Release Mate 7 Plus In September, Mate 8 Could Be Postponed To Next Year

Huawei just announced that it will be releasing a new flagship smartphone at IFA Berlin in September this year. At that time, we were almost sure that this new phone was going to be the awaited Mate 8 flagship. However, earlier today Chinese media reported that the company might postpone the release of the Mate 8 to the end of this year, or next year. Instead, it would release another device in the Mate family at IFA.

huawei-mate-7-mate-8

It is said that the Kirin 950 which is supposed to power the Mate 8 will only be released sometime in October. So, the company could announce a different smartphone at the September event, like an upgraded version of the Mate 7, probably called as the Mate 7 Plus or the Mate 7S.

In fact, we have already seen a couple of renders, which could be of the new smartphone. While we guessed that it could be the new Mate 8, but after considering this report and the striking resemblance to the Mate 7 flagship design, the leaked renders might be of the Mate 7 Plus. The phone is also said to come with surprising new high-end tech. But the report failed to specify any details.

Unfortunately, Huawei has not yet announced any details about its new Mate flagship. So, we will have to wait until we get some concrete information about the upcoming device.

Huawei To Announce Mate 8 Flagship On September 2 At IFA Berlin

Huawei has just announced that the company will be unveiling its new flagship in the Mate lineup, namely the Huawei Mate 8 on September 2. Like tradition, the unveiling will be at IFA in Berlin this year.

huawei mate 8 launch

We have seen a number of smartphones from the company in 2015 like the Huawei P8, Honor 7, Honor 4C, 4A, etc. This would be the third major smartphone flagship from the company this year, which clearly shows the amount of investment in the smartphone market.

The company hasn’t officially revealed any details for the Mate 8, but it is said that the phone will feature the new Kirin 950 64-bit chip with 3GB / 4GB RAM versions. Like the previous generation Mate 7, the new model is also expected to come with an all metal design. There should be a 20.7MP camera at the back along with a fingerprint sensor. Other details are scarce, but we can expect to hear a lot more information in the coming days.

Xiaomi Aluminium Bluetooth Speaker Review: The Best Cheap Bluetooth Speaker

Xiaomi has been known not only for its affordable yet great smartphones but also for a lot of different accessories. In addition, many of these accessories are actually independent gadgets and one of them is a super affordable aluminium Bluetooth speaker.

After using this device for a few days I have been really impressed with it and I strongly believe that it is one of the best budget Bluetooth speakers you can purchase on the market today. Check out a video review to find out everything you need in just over 4 mins!

Xiaomi Aluminium Bluetooth Speaker Review: VIDEO

Xiaomi Aluminium Bluetooth Speaker: UNBOXING

The device comes in a plain box and the contents include just the speaker itself and Chinese instruction manual. Keep it mind that there is no USB cable included but I bet you have a spare one.

Xiaomi Aluminium Bluetooth Speaker: DESIGN

The very first impressions you’re gonna get is the speaker is very tiny and lightweight.
It is not entirely made out of aluminium as the speaker grill and the back side spots a plastic material. Still, it does not feel cheap at all.
The sides of the speaker definitely add a bit of a premium look as a metal chassis goes around the entire speaker. In addition, there are a few silicone pads on the bottom side to prevent the speaker from sliding on the table.
The right side is a little control centre where you can find a power on/off switch, Bluetooth LED and micro USB charging port.

Other sides of the speaker are clean except the bottom part where you can find silicone pads, which prevent speaker from sliding. That is a little but neat feature that not every manufacturer understands as a must. I have reviewed a few Bluetooth speakers, which did not have these pads and it was a nightmare to use it. They kept sliding on the table when played at high volumes, so I could not leave them without taking care of. Otherwise, they would simply fall off the table because of low frequency sound.

Overall, this speaker definitely exceeded my expectations. For under $20 you are getting a very well built device, which has some premium materials in the construction. Also, it is very compact and lightweight. In addition, it is just a tad longer than a 5.5” Letv Le 1 Pro smartphone. In fact, you can even fit this little speaker into you back pocket.

Xiaomi Aluminium Bluetooth Speaker: PAIRING

Pairing the Xiaomi bluetooth speaker is very easy as the pairing mode turns on automatically once you power on the device. All you have to do is turn on the bluetooth on your smartphone and select it. All other times the speaker will connect to your smartphone automatically in just a second.

Xiaomi Aluminium Bluetooth Speaker: SOUND QUALITY

For such a compact speaker the sound quality is very good and it even has a little bit of bass in it. In addition, you would not believe how loud it is. Literally, the speaker can’t even keep the balance at the highest volumes when you pump up the bass setting on your smartphone’s music player.

Xiaomi Aluminium Bluetooth Speaker: CONCLUSIONS

IMG_1301

Overall, the Xiaomi Aluminium (I prefer saying Aluminum, you may have noticed that in my video). Bluetooth speaker is a wonderful cheap little gadget. I have to tell that I didn’t have any issues with the range as the Bluetooth 4.0 is one of the newest standards. In addition, I got around 8 hours of music playback, which is really amazing considering how tiny it is.
On the other hand, some control buttons would have been a nice addition as right now you can only control it via your smartphone. Also, make sure you reduce the amount of bass in equaliser settings, so you don’t break the speaker.
Finally, the design and build quality are really premium and considering the overall package it’s hard to believe that this device does not even cost $20. Please use a coupon code: GBXMSP and get it for just $18.99!

OnePlus 2 Hits TENAA, Features Physical Home Button With Fingerprint ID

Now that the OnePlus 2 unveiling is less than a week away, not a day goes by without any significant news about the new flagship. And once again, today, we have some very interesting news about the OnePlus 2. The device has just hit TENAA revealing a bunch of pictures. This will be the first time we are going to see the handset’s design.

oneplus 2 02

One of the interesting things revealed by these images is the presence of the physical home button. You can clearly see the oval shaped home button right below the display. It will also harbor the fingerprint ID sensor.

At the back, you can see that the placement of the camera unit is a bit lower than usual. There’s also the laser autofocus below the camera sensor. According to the camera review by MKBHD, this helped focus at tremendous speeds, in most cases less than a second. On the left side, you will also find a new button, which could be a customizable function key.

Unfortunately, the TENAA listing didn’t reveal much about the specifications. But then, we already know so much about the device, that it hardly makes any difference. We expect the OnePlus 2 to come in two variants. Inside, there will be Snapdragon 810 v2.1 on board (check out the recent AnTuTu benchmark!), 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB storage, 13MP camera with Laser AF, USB Type-C port, 3300mAh battery and 5.5-inch 2K display. The price is confirmed to be below $450.

Rumor: Xiaomi Smartwatch Coming In November With Heart Rate Monitor

Weibo is often a source of new leaks and rumors. The latest rumor that is going around this Chinese social networking site is about a Xiaomi smartwatch. Earlier today, leaksfly, who is known to leak news about gadgets revealed a few details about a new Xiaomi smartwatch. Of course, Leaksfly hasn’t been accurate all the time, so before you get too excited, take the following news with a pinch of salt.

xiaomi watch

According to Leaksfly, the new Xiaomi smartwatch will come with Qualcomm S410 chip, with 520MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. It will have heart rate monitor and other such features traditionally found on a smartwatch. There will be a 1.3-inch screen, but we don’t know whether it will be round watch.

The leak further adds that the Xiaomi smartwatch should release sometime in November this year for 600 Yuan ($96).

It makes sense for Xiaomi to expand its wearable line up this year. We have already seen that Xiaomi was the second largest wearable smartband maker in the world, thanks to its best selling Xiaomi Mi Band. So, a logical upgrade would be to expand this popular lineup with smartwatch this year.

However, we are not quite convinced with the specs posted by Leaksfly. So, like we mentioned above, take this news with a pinch of salt and wait for some concrete information before getting excited.

The Voyo V2 is a mini-PC with battery inside

1435691641113-P-2787431

Mini PCs are now becoming a fashionable item at home and they may be around to stay. The competition is not only in design, with Voyo having included an in-built battery in their latest voyo V2 TV box. This makes it much better than the likes of Compute Stick from Intel. The V2 TV Box is made of tempered glass, which is scratch resistant to make the sleek designed device keep a good appearance for longer. It will allow home users to stream videos, movies, music as well as edit video/pictures, browse the internet and share everything with other devices via Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth.

The compact system is larger than the average stick PC due to the included in-built battery, but smaller than a traditional PC. Voyo V2 TV Box is offered with two battery options, with one packing a 8,000mAh capacity battery, and the other a battery of 4,500mAh in capacity. The latter compensates with an extra 64GB of storage space. The model fitted with a 8,000mAh battery is a bit cheaper at $123.24 than with one that has a smaller capacity battery – which trades at $134.06. The two batteries are of lithium ion type.

Of course the device is not completely versatile. Even wherever you go with it, a screen will be needful. But let’s talk about the advantage of having an in-built battery on a mini-PC: if you wanted to keep a mini PC for longer in order to enjoy services of this device, you will need to have a UPS if there is no in-built battery. This adds in extra costs. Again, with an in-built battery, you will be purchasing one device than having two separate parts (UPS and mini PC), especially with regard to portability.

1435691641512-P-2787431

Most of systems with in-built battery/power systems come with power management capabilities, meaning you not only save on power consumption, but also do you keep the device for longer than with a UPS.

However, like is the case with other mini PCs, you will need to buy a keyboard, mouse and have a separate screen. Some of these devices are sold together with the mini PC, which removes additional costs on the side of the buyer. In deed, separate powering for the screen is necessary even if the mini PC is on with its in-built battery.
