Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra dimensions revealed: slimmer than S24 series

More and more aspects of the Galaxy S25 series, expected to launch in Q1 2025, are getting revealed thanks to leaks and rumors. Two of the most recent ones include images of the screen protectors (that hint at even slimmer bezels) and aluminum dummy units of all three models along with the precise dimensions.

It looks like Samsung is continuing its minimalist design approach with the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus, while the Ultra model is getting a major shift in design – rounded corners.

Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra dimensions:

The Galaxy S25 measures 146.94 x 70.46 x 7.25 mm, down from 7.6mm of the Galaxy S24.

The Galaxy S25 Plus measures 158.44 x 75.79 x 7.35 mm, down from 7.7mm of the Galaxy S24 Plus.

Galaxy S25 Ultra measures at 162.82 x 77.65 x 8.25 mm, down from 8.6mm of the S24 Ultra. The upcoming Ultra flagship is also slightly narrower, down from the 79mm of the S24 Ultra, which is possibly due to the slimmer bezels.

Front design

The S25 Ultra will be the brand’s first Ultra model to feature a completely flat display, addressing several issues: easier availability of screen protectors, better display protection from the middle frame covering the sides, and fewer accidental touches.

Leaked images of the screen protectors also hint at slimmer bezels for all three models.

Inside, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (or Snapdragon 8 Elite) chip, which is expected to deliver significant improvements in raw performance and AI processing compared to its predecessor. However, the chip will be notably more expensive. Although earlier rumors suggested that the base and Plus models would adopt MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9400, a recent report from Sammy Fans indicates that the Snapdragon chip will be used across the entire lineup.

Qualcomm will introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform at the 2024 Snapdragon Summit, set to take place in Hawaii from Oct.  21 to Oct. 23. Soon after, smartphone brands are expected to release in China. Speculations are rife that the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro will be the world’s first phones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Which brand will launch the first Snapdragon 8 Elite phone outside of China? As per reports, the Realme GT 7 Pro and iQOO 13 will be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite to hit markets outside of China. While the iQOO 13 is expected to break cover in the first week of December, the GT 7 Pro could be the first Snapdragon 8 Elite phone to hit the Indian market.

Many details about the GT 7 Pro have already been leaked by the rumor mill. Here’s a look at everything that’s known about the device.

1. Display and Durability

The Realme GT 7 Pro is expected to feature a custom-made Samsung screen, which is expected to deliver a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen can achieve global brightness of up to 2,000 nits and manual brightness of up to 1,000 nits. The exact screen size is not known yet.

The GT 7 Pro will also be Realme’s first phone equipped with an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner. In terms of durability, it will be Realme’s first IP68/69-rated dust and water resistance. Additionally, it will feature a metallic frame. In terms of design, the GT 5 Pro featured a round camera module, but rumors surrounding the GT 7 Pro suggest that it will have a square camera module as shown in the mock render above.

2. Top-notch Performance

The 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the Realme GT 7 Pro smartphone. According to a recent leak, the chip has the capability to surpass a score of 3,000,000 million on the AnTuTu benchmarks.

The other major highlight of the GT 7 Pro is its high-density 6,500mAh silicon carbon battery. Thereby, it will offer the largest battery seen on a Realme phone.. It is expected to support 100W charging but may lack wireless charging capabilities. The topmost variant of the GT 7 Pro for the Chinese market is expected to feature 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The Realme GT 7 Pro could be the first phone from Realme to run on the Realme UI 6-based Android 15 platform. It is likely that the company may also have a bunch of AI features for enhanced experience.

3. Stellar Photography Experience

According to a recent report, the Realme GT 7 Pro will have an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary camera. An 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom will accompany it. It might come with a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies.

4. Realme GT 7 Pro Launch Timeframe

The Realme GT 7 Pro will be unveiled later this month. However, the phone is rumored to launch by early November in the home market. As far as the global launch is concerned, it is expected to hit the Indian market by mid-November.

5. Price Speculations

Currently, there is no official pricing for the Realme GT 7 Pro. However, reports suggest that devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset are expected to be priced around 500 Yuan more than last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phones. The base model of the GT 5 Pro was priced at 3,399 Yuan ($480) in China. Based on these rumors, the starting price for the GT 7 Pro’s base model could be approximately 3,899 Yuan ($550).

While Realme has launched a couple of affordable flagships in recent years, it hasn’t launched a true flagship phone in India for quite some time. To recall, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Realme GT 2 Pro, which debuted in April 2022, was the company’s last flagship phone for the Indian market. At that time, it was priced at Rs 50,000. There’s a possibility that the GT 7 Pro with all the new features and upgrades could be positioned between Rs 55,000 and Rs 65,000 in India.

OnePlus 13 design revealed

OnePlus 13 design
OnePlus 13 design

The OnePlus 13 will be available in three colors. The “White Dawn” variant features the latest Silk Glass technology, providing a sleek and elegant appearance. The “Blue Moment” stands out as the industry’s first to introduce BabySkin texture, offering a soft, skin-like feel. Lastly, the “Obsidian Secret” debuts with an Ebony Wood Grain Glass finish, presenting a unique and refined look reminiscent of natural wood.

In terms of design, the OnePlus 13 features a micro-quad-curved display on the front and a prominent circular camera module on the back panel. Unlike predecessor models, the camera module does not fuse with the frame of the device. The camera island houses three lenses, and an LED flash unit arranged symmetrically in a square formation. A metallic ring surrounds the circular module, adding a touch of elegance and distinguishing the camera area from the rest of the back panel.

There is a horizontal line that extends from the camera module to the edge and has the “H” (Hasselblad) logo on it. Subtly embedded beneath the camera module, the OnePlus logo upholds the clean design language. The sides of the phones are metallic, contributing to the premium feel.

At present, OnePlus has only released a couple of teasers to reveal its design and has yet to confirm the technical specifications of the device. Leaks have revealed that it will have a 6.82-inch 2K 120Hz BOE X2 screen, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, up to 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, a 6,000mAh battery with 100W charging and 50W wireless charging, a 32-megapixel front camera, and a 50-megapixel (LYT-808) triple camera unit on the back. It is also expected to come with other features, such as ColorOS 15-based Android 15, an 0916T vibration motor, and an IP69-rated chassis.

Xiaomi successfully “tapes out” China’s first 3nm smartphone chip

Xiaomi has been rumored to be working on its very own smartphone chip for a while now. Looks like the company has now reached an important milestone.

A report by Chinese media MyDrivers suggests that Xiami has successfully “taped out” the country’s first 3nm smartphone SoC.

The announcement came from the Chief Economist of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology on BRTV, a government-owned television network in China. Below is the announcement video of the same, in Chinese of course, posted by an X user.

Xiaomi’s own smartphone SoC?

The report doesn’t provide details about the CPU or GPU and only mentions that it is a 3nm chip. It also doesn’t specify whether Xiaomi is using TSMC, Samsung, or another node for production.

However, the “tape-out” process in silicon design means the chip has reached the final stage before it’s sent to the manufacturing facility for production. In other words, Xiaomi has successfully completed the design phase and the chip is now ready for fabrication.

That said, this doesn’t mean the SoC is ready for mass production or smartphone use yet. Xiaomi will still need to test the chip once it’s fabricated by a manufacturer like TSMC or Samsung. Also, if the initial yield (the percentage of working chips) is low, they may need to tweak the manufacturing process or the chip design to improve it.

In case you didn’t know, Xiaomi has already released a smartphone with its own SoC. The Mi 5C, launched in 2017, featured Xiaomi’s Pengpai (or Pinecone) S1 chip, a 28nm, 8-core processor with a big-little architecture and a maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz.

While Xiaomi hasn’t launched another smartphone SoC since then, it has been developing chips for charging, battery management, and image signal processing in its Surge G, P, and C series. For instance, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra uses the Surge P2 and G1 chips to improve charging efficiency and extend battery life.

So, chip production certianly isn’t an unfamiliar territory for Xiaomi. It remains to be seen if the company can successfully develop and launch its own smartphone SoC (again), and how it will stack up in terms of performance.

Here’s your first look at the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition in live images

Samsung has a launch event set for tomorrow, October 21st. Although the company hasn’t officially confirmed what it’s unveiling, it’s expected to be a new foldable, likely the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition.

We’ve only seen the phone once, in a leaked render from a month ago. However, a new leak has now given us the first live image of the Special Edition Fold.

Galaxy Fold Special Edition real-life images

The leak comes from X (formerly Twitter) user @Jukanlosreve, who shared somewhat blurry images of the upcoming foldable. This particular model is for the Chinese market, where it’s rumored to be called the “Samsung Galaxy W25.”

It’s recognizable because of the distinct logo at the bottom, used for Samsung’s Chinese foldable. In Korea, however, it’s expected to be named the Galaxy Fold Special Edition, its only other market after China.

Unfortunately, the leak doesn’t reveal any specific details about the phone. It’s expected to be thinner than the standard Fold, and the image of the phone folded does make it look slimmer. Still, we can’t confirm its exact thickness.

The unfolded inner display is rumored to be 8 inches, up from the standard Z Fold 6’s 7.6 inches. The outer display is also expected to grow from 6.3 inches to 6.5 inches.

A previous report also suggests that the display crease on the new fold will be less noticeable than in the standard Z Fold 6. If true, that will be a welcome improvement since previous models have made little progress in this area.

Aside from being slim, the new foldable is also rumored to feature a 200MP camera. According to reliable leaker Ice Universe, the camera quality will even surpass that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. We’ll find out if these rumors hold true in just one day.

Samsung is readying Galaxy S25 Ultra in four colors

Samsung typically launches its flagship Galaxy S series in January, and although we’re still a few months away, leaks and rumors have already begun revealing details.

The design renders have shown a subtle tweak to the phone’s look. Now, a new leak reveals the color options for the upcoming phone.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra color options

According to tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in four color options — black, green, blue, and “titanium.”

The black and titanium could simply be a continuation of the existing Titanium Black or Titanium Gray finishes from the S24 Ultra, or perhaps a new shade closer to the natural titanium look recently seen on iPhones. The blue and green, however, are likely new additions to the palette.

Of course, Samsung usually reserves a few more daring colors for its online store in select markets. Details on these exclusive options are still under wraps, but it’s a safe bet some bolder options will be available beyond the standard four.

Under the hood, the S25 Ultra is expected to pack a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip. Rumors also hint at a hefty 16GB of RAM, which should keep things smooth even for the most demanding users. The camera system could see a bump too, with a possible upgrade to a 50MP ultrawide sensor.

However, there’s one area where the S25 Ultra might disappoint is its battery life and charging. Leaks suggest Samsung is sticking with the same 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired fast charging from the S24 Ultra.

While this isn’t necessarily bad, an upgrade in battery capacity or faster charging would have been a welcome improvement, especially as many 2025 flagships from Chinese brands are rumored to feature batteries around or even above 6,000mAh. We will keep you updated as more details about the phone surface.

  • Variants: 6GB+128GB | 8GB+128GB | 12GB+256GB
  • Android 14 | Realme UI 5

The Realme Narzo 70 Turbo 5G is a performance-driven smartphone fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Energy chipset, a 4nm processor with Cortex A78 cores clocked at 2.5GHz. This powerful chipset, coupled with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, ensures smooth multitasking and lag-free experiences, even with demanding applications.

Gaming enthusiasts will appreciate the phone’s ability to achieve 80+ FPS in popular titles like COD: Mobile and BGMI at high graphical settings, especially when GT mode is activated. The phone incorporates a large vapor chamber cooling system to manage heat dissipation during intense gaming sessions, though some users may still find the device gets warm.

Battery life is a strong suit, thanks to the 5,000mAh battery. While PCMark benchmark scores are slightly behind peers, real-world usage suggests a screen-on time of 5-6 hours with moderate use. The included 45W fast charger replenishes the battery from scratch to full in around 75 minutes.

Running on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, the Narzo 70 Turbo 5G offers a lag-free experience. However, the phone is preloaded with plenty of apps, including Hot Apps folders. Thankfully, many of them can be uninstalled, but it would require you to spend some time doing the cleanup. The device is promised to receive two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

4. Camera and Other Features

Realme Narzo 70 Turbo 5G
Realme Narzo 70 Turbo 5G
  • Front: 16MP
  • Rear: 50MP Sony camera+ 2MP depth + flicker sensor

The Realme Narzo 70 Turbo features a user-friendly camera app with multiple modes, including Photo, Night, Portrait, and Professional. The camera setup of this phone is decent for its price point, but it’s not the phone’s main focus. One drawback of in the camera department is that it lacks support for optical image stabilization.

It features a 50-megapixel AI main camera and a 2-megapixel depth lens. The main camera captures satisfactory daylight shots with good detail, sharpness, and dynamic range, though colors are slightly boosted. In low light, images are softer and lack the same level of detail. Portrait shots exhibit good edge detection and preserve skin texture, but color balance can be slightly off and there’s no support for 2x zoom.

The 16-megapixel front camera produces decent selfies with accurate skin tones, though skin texture appears smoothed out at times. Nighttime selfies are acceptable only when there is sufficient light. Video recording is adequate, with support for up to 4K at 30fps. However, the lack of OIS means video stability is not ideal.

The Realme Narzo 70 Turbo 5G includes several notable features. It has an in-screen fingerprint sensor, although its placement is a bit low; it shouldn’t be a major concern for most users. In the software department, there are some nice additions like Flash Capsule for notifications around the front camera area, Air Gestures for touch-free control, and Riding Mode for easier navigation while riding a bike. Additionally, the phone offers Free Calls, allowing users to make calls over Bluetooth when there is no network coverage. The rainwater touch feature works flawlessly, making it a very usable feature during the rainy season.
