Meizu 20 Pro was announced back in March this year. Now Meizu has announced the addition of a new color variant, called “Sunrise Purple,” to its Meizu 20 Pro smartphone lineup. This latest color option joins the existing range of Dawn Gray, Twilight Silver, and Sunrise Gold, representing the four stages of sunrise and embodying the aesthetics of “rising towards the sun.”

The Sunrise Purple variant features a low-saturation purple as the primary tone, with a gradual transition from bottom to top. It incorporates Meizu’s exclusive ultra-fine delicate shimmering craftsmanship, maintaining consistency with the other color options.

An exciting highlight of the Meizu 20 Pro Sunrise Purple edition is the extended warranty. Meizu offers a 3-year warranty for this device. To qualify for the extended warranty, customers need to purchase the phone before June 20th and activate it by June 27th.

A few days ago, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu launched its latest flagship smartphones — Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro. Now, starting today, both smartphones are available for purchase in the Chinese market.

The Meizu 20 starts at 2,999 yuan (~$435) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the 12GB + 256GB model is priced at 3,399 yuan (~$494). There’s also a 12GB + 512GB model which is available for 3,799 yuan (~$552).

On the other hand, the Meizu 20 Pro starts at 3,999 yuan (~$581) for the 12GB + 128GB model, and the 12GB + 256GB model costs 4,399 yuan (~$639). The top-end model in the lineup with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is priced at 4,799 yuan (~$697).

Coming to the specifications, the standard model features a 6.5-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate, whereas the Pro model boasts a 6.81-inch display with 2K resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, and HDR10 support. Meizu 20 series has launched in China today. The lineup includes a standard and pro variant. The latest offerings arrive as the successor to the Meizu 18 series that debuted way back in 2021. The smartphones borrow design cues from Apple’s iPhone 14 and Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series. The regular and pro models are slightly different from each other. Read on to know what the Meizu 20 series offers out of the box.

The Meizu 20 series features an E6 AMOLED display with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout and thin bezels. The regular variant has a 6.5-inch screen with a 144Hz refresh rate whereas the pro model boasts a 6.81-inch display with 2K resolution, 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, up to 1,800 nits peak brightness, and HDR10 support. There is an in-screen fingerprint scanner and Gorilla Glass Victus protection on both devices. Meizu 20 Pro will debut in China later this month as the latest flagship from the brand. This highly anticipated release marks the return of Meizu to the smartphone market after a period of relative quiet. The upcoming handset has been the subject of numerous leaks lately, with reports suggesting that it will sport a Galaxy 23-like camera module and be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Now prior to its official launch, an image has been leaked online, showcasing its front design. Let’s have a look.

Meizu itself has released various renderings of the Meizu 20 but they mostly focus on the back panel. But this new image shared by Chinese tipster @数码闲话站 gives us a good look at the pro phone’s front. It can be seen to have a flat display with thin bezels all around, however, the source claims the real units will have comparatively thicker borders. The handset features a center punch hole cutout for the selfie camera.

The Meizu 20 Pro will be unveiled on March 30 alongside the vanilla Meizu 20. As per the information previously shared by company officials, the Meizu 20 series will feature a flat screen with a suspension dispensing 3.0 process, and a narrow frame of only 1.57mm. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, equipped with 13 gaming-grade high-energy antennas, and boast a total heat dissipation area of 36242mm², which is 56% higher than its predecessor.

Additionally, the Meizu 20 series will debut the new generation ecosystem Flyme 10, which comes with full-link anti-fraud technology. The Pro model is reported to get a 5,000mAh battery with support for 50W wireless and 80W wired charging.

Meizu 20 Pro Camera Samples Emerge Ahead of Launch

Meizu is set to launch its new flagship smartphone series, the Meizu 20, on March 30 in China. Ahead of the launch, Senior Vice President Yang Xueliang has shared some camera samples from the Meizu 20 Pro on Weibo, giving us a glimpse of what the phone’s camera system is capable of.

Although the sample shots are not the best in terms of color accuracy, vibrancy, and detail, it’s worth noting that they were likely taken using pre-production software. Therefore, we should wait for official images from the retail units to make a proper judgment on the phone’s camera capabilities.

The Meizu 20 Pro is expected to come equipped with a 50MP main camera using Sony’s 1″ IMX989 sensor. While the camera samples so far have been underwhelming, it is worth noting that the unit used was probably running pre-production software. We will have to wait for official images from the retail units to get a better idea of the camera’s performance.

Meizu has just revealed the launch date for its next generation of flagship Meizu 20 series smartphones. The company will be hosting an event later this month in China where it will also be unveiling the premium grade handset. So here are all the details.

The Chinese smartphone maker has announced that it will be hosting a new event with Lynk & Co on 30th March 2023 at the Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center at 19:30 CST. Tipster @爱范儿 has shared real-life images of the upcoming Meizu 20 Pro. The handset has apparently been pictured in the hands of a Meizu executive. As can be seen in the images, the smartphone adopts a right-angle frame design with flat sides and display. The rear panel is also flat, featuring 4 rings. Out of the 4, 3 rings house the cameras and the other one features the flash.

According to recent teasers, Meizu 20 Pro is equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. The handset features a 2K+ Samsung E6 AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 1800nits. It also uses a self-developed 1-120 frame LTPO adaptive refresh technology. It will pack a built-in 5000mAh battery, rated to last 12.3 hours of usage.

The smartphone will also support 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is claimed to take only 30 minutes to charge wirelessly to 80%. It is said to be equipped with a 50MP 1/1.56-inch outsole main sensor, which supports a new generation of SMA optical image stabilization and DarkVision 2.0 for night photography. The Meizu 20 series of smartphones is set to be launched soon by Meizu, which will include two models, namely the Meizu 20 and the Meizu 20 Pro. Ahead of the launch, the brand has confirmed the camera specs of the Meizu 20. Additionally, Shen Ziyu, Chairman of Meizu Technology has posted a live image of the Meizu 20 Pro.

The Meizu 20 Pro’s live image shows a quad camera setup on the back arranged vertically, with one of the cameras featuring a ring flash. The MEIZU logo is located on the back of the device. Up front, it will feature a flat display with slim and even bezels, with a punch-hole camera in the top center.

Other than that, the Meizu 20 is confirmed to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and SMA optical image stabilization. In addition to that the device will also feature DarkVision 2.0 extreme night scene enhancement and a full-pixel focusing technology that has a 33% increased focus speed compared to the Meizu 18s.

So far, the Meizu 20 and 20 Pro are also rumored to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It will be cooled using a heat dissipation system that covers an area of 36242mm², which is 56% higher than the previous generation. Both devices are also said to be equipped with 144Hz displays. Meizu is going to launch a new flagship series after a long time. The company has confirmed it is working on a new lineup equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The series could include at least two devices— Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro. Now, ahead of the formal release, the Pro phone has possibly been spotted in AnTuTu results with the above-mentioned processor. Let’s look at the details.

The alleged Meizu 20 Pro has appeared in AnTuTu results with model number m2391. The handset has been listed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. There may be other storage configurations. Meizu has barely launched any smartphones lately. In fact, the last flagship we saw from the brand was way back in 2019, the device was called Meizu 19. The Chinese company is now planning to return to the market with the new Meizu 20 series. The lineup is said to include the vanilla Meizu 20 and a higher-end Meizu 20 Pro. Today, the vanilla model’s protective case has appeared online, revealing its design. Let’s have a look.

A Pandaer-branded phone case has been doing rounds on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The case has apparently been designed for the upcoming Meizu 20 and it even matches the phone’s design as revealed through patent images. Also, Pandaer is Meizu’s sub-brand which focuses on accessories and other gadgets.

The case can be seen with flat sides and a large vertical opening on the back for the camera module. On the right edge, there are the power and volume buttons. The Meizu 20 is expected to have 4 circular rings on the back housing at least 3 cameras. The display of the device will be equipped with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.

Meizu 20 (M381Q) and Meizu 20 Pro (M391Q) have recently bagged radio approval, and it has been revealed that the pro model will support UWB’s ultra-wideband function.

Meizu 20 Pro Leaked Live Image Reveals Design

Meizu is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that has been in the business for quite some time but isn’t as popular as other firms (Xiaomi, OPPO, just to name a few) from the country. Also, it has been a long time since we saw a Meizu flagship— the last one was released way back in 2019. That’s about to change as the company is now gearing up to bring the Meizu 20 smartphone. There may also be a Pro model, at least that’s what a new leaked image suggests.

A tipster has shared a hands-on image of the alleged Meizu 20 Pro on Weibo. The image shows the smartphone with a curved back and an interesting camera module. There are at least three camera sensors and one mysterious black bar. We can’t help but notice that the camera arrangement looks like a disapproval emoticon (:|).

The text on the camera island suggests the Meizu 20 Pro uses a 1-inch 50MP Sony sensor. This is likely the Sony IMX989 sensor found on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Pro. We are not sure what’s the purpose of the black bar on the module. It could feature some sort of sensor or maybe it’s there due to aesthetic reasons.

Details about the Meizu 20 series smartphones as pretty scarce at the moment. Previously, patent images of the vanilla model surfaced online, revealing a Galaxy S23-like design with an additional ring on the back. In addition, a Geekbench listing revealed the Meizu 20 will be equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The Pro model could also feature the same chipset.

Meizu is reportedly working on the Meizu 20 and Meizu 20 Pro smartphones. Recently, the Meizu 20 was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform with the new Snapdragon 8-series chipset. Now, a new Meizu charger that is supposedly designed for the upcoming Meizu 20 lineup has received certification from the 3C authority of China.

As can be seen in the screenshot, the new charger that is likely to accompany the Meizu 20 series has a UP2040 model number. The charger supports up to 80W fast charging. He added, “There is also a new protocol for wireless charging (machine translation).” To recall, the Meizu 18 Pro, which debuted in 2021, supported 40W wireless charging. Hence, there is a possibility that the Meizu 20 Pro may arrive with support for faster 50W wireless charging.

Meizu fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of its next flagship phones. The company has not announced a flagship phone after launching the Meizu 18 series in March 2021. In July of this year, the company was taken over by Geely’s Xingji Times. It was also said at that time that the company’s next flagship phone is planned for 2023. In a fresh development, Meizu’s upcoming flagship phone has been found listed in the database of the Geekbench benchmarking site (via. TechGoing).

A new Meizu device with model number M2392 has appeared on Geekbench. The CPU and GPU (Adreno 740) information mentioned in the Geekbench listing is enough to say that the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The listing further reveals that the device is equipped with 12 GB of RAM and Android 13 OS.

Since the Meizu M2392 has the SD8G2 chip onboard, it appears that it could be the upcoming Meizu 20 or Meizu 20 Pro flagship. The device scored 1409 and 4199 points in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, respectively.

Interestingly, the M2392 model number does not match the report that revealed details about the Meizu 20 series last month. According to the report, Meizu phones with M381Q and M391Q model numbers will debut as the Meizu 20 and 20 Pro in China.

While not a well-known name in the global market, Meizu is a popular smartphone brand in the domestic Chinese market. The brand recently announced that it is working on a new flagship smartphone which will be powered by the newly unveiled Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Information has been scarce on the upcoming device, however, a new report brings some key details to light.

Meizu 18 Pro

The report comes from PriceBaba citing tipster Paras Guglani as the source. While there are rumors that the upcoming series will be called the Meizu 19 series, the firmware data reveals that the Meizu phones with model numbers M381Q and M391Q will have the Meizu 20 and the Meizu 20 Pro marketing names, respectively. These are the upcoming flagships from the brand.

The report also reveals that the Pro model will be available in two variants: 8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of storage and 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage. Other than that, a total of three color options will be available to choose from with the upcoming Meizu 20 Pro. The configurations of the vanilla model are not known at this time. However, it is confirmed that it will also feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
