Motorola is gearing up to launch a new phone in the market called the Moto Edge 50 Pro. This same device is set to debut in China as the Moto X50 Ultra. After clearing some regional certifications like FCC, BIS, and TRDA, it is safe to say that we can expect a global launch soon.

However, ahead of the launch, Android Headlines has leaked the renders of this upcoming smartphone along with some key details about its hardware.

The leaked renders of the Moto Edge 50 Pro reveal that the brand is going with a unibody back for this device. The edges appear to have a metallic curved finish and the display is also curved. The smartphone features a choice of three colors: purple, black, and a silver/white/stone variant. The purple and black variants appear to feature a textured back, likely faux leather.

Moving over to the specifications, the report suggests that the device will feature a 6.7-inch curved display with a 165Hz refresh rate. For optics, the Edge 50 Pro will feature a triple rear camera system, including a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.4 aperture, alongside wide-angle and telephoto lenses, the latter offering a 6x zoom capability. This camera setup will have laser autofocus and optical image stabilization (OIS).

Internally, the Edge 50 Pro will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, supported by 12GB of RAM. It features a 4500mAh battery, compatible with 125W wired and 50W wireless charging. Motorola has teased the AI capabilities of the X50 Ultra in China, indicating the integration of advanced AI features, which is becoming a standard in modern flagship smartphones. Chinese smartwatch manufacturer Lemtofit has launched the affordable Lem 3 smartwatch for the global market. The new Lemtofit Lem 3 smartwatch is said to have received the China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) certification for its ECG function. This means that the smartwatch can be used as an ECG tool.

Features

The Lem 3 is a relatively affordable wearable that was recently announced by Lemtofit. It comes with a bouquet of health monitoring features seemingly signposted by its ECG functionality. Other health tracking features present in the Lem 3 are blood glucose (non-invasive), blood oxygen, heart rate, and body temperature monitoring.

The smartwatch packs a 1.92-inch display, supports Bluetooth calling and various sports modes are available to the user. The smartwatch can also be controlled using its voice assistant. The watch has up to 7 days of runtime on a single charge and typical usage.

Although Lemtofit has stated that the Lem 3 has the CFDA certification for its ECG measuring tool, it has yet to state the details of the certification. This implies that the accuracy of ECG measurements by the smartwatch has not been established. The Lem 3 will also need to be certified by the National Medical Product Administration (NMPA), which replaced the CFDA in 2018. Non-invasive blood glucose measurements are seen as unreliable, as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a statement that advised against using smartwatches and smart rings to take blood glucose measurements.

He does not detail in to what those limitations are but the only difference between the standard and pro variants of the Pixel 8 is that the former packs 8GB RAM whereas the latter has 12GB.

Gemini Nano runs on the Pixel 8 Pro and the Galaxy S24 series. The AI model offers features like Summarize in the Recorder app, Smart Reply in Gboard, WhatsApp, and photography enhancements without network connection. The lack of the AI model on the standard variant has made the gap between the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro greater. If you’re considering buying Pixel 8 device, you might want to keep this thing in mind.

Google also confirmed that it is working on extending the Gemini Nano’s compatibility to more high-end devices. On the last day of February, the Oppo Watch X made its global debut in Malaysia. Just a few days earlier, the same product was also unveiled as OnePlus Watch 2 at MWC 2024.

This wearable is now tipped to be released in China. A reliable source has not only revealed the launch date but also its price point.

According to Digital Chat Station, the Oppo Watch X will launch in China on March 22. He adds that this is a tentative launch date, and therefore, there could be changes.

Further, the tipster claims that the Chinse variant will support eSIM. Despite the additional feature, the device will only cost around ¥1,000 (~$140).

For comparison, the global variants of Oppo Watch X and OnePlus Watch 2 without eSIM are priced at around $300. That’s more than double the Chinese price.

The higher international price is most likely due to Wear OS 4. In China, Oppo smartwatches boot ColorOS Watch based on AOSP, which does not require the company to pay any hefty licensing fees to Google.

Apart from software differences, the Oppo Watch X Chinese variant is expected to have the exact same hardware as its global counterpart.

For the unaware, the Oppo Watch X arrives with a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, IP68 rating, MIL-STD-810H certification, WiFi, Bluetooth, GNSS, a speaker, a microphone, a 500mAh battery, and 7.5W charging support.

NVIDIA has unveiled its Cloud G-SYNC technology, which is aimed at enhancing the game streaming experience for users of GeForce NOW. Exclusive to GeForce NOW RTX 4080 SuperPOD instances under the Ultimate subscription tier, Cloud G-SYNC synchronizes display refresh rates with cloud gaming streams, minimizing screen tearing and stuttering for smoother gameplay. This feature also incorporates Reflex technology to reduce latency in cloud gaming.

Specific requirements for compatibility and usage

To utilize Cloud G-SYNC, users must have display equipment with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz and support for variable refresh rate (VRR) technology, such as Nvidia G-SYNC, AMD FreeSync, or Apple’s ProMotion. Notably, Cloud G-SYNC is only available through native GeForce NOW applications and does not extend to browser, mobile, or TV clients.

For Windows systems, a minimum requirement of NVIDIA Turing architecture graphics cards (GTX 16 or RTX 20 series) is necessary, excluding support for Intel or AMD GPUs. Additionally, the macOS version of the application supports all Apple Silicon models and select Intel-based Mac models, including specific MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, and Mac Pro configurations.

It’s essential to ensure that systems equipped with GeForce have at least the R545 driver version to support Cloud G-SYNC. However, NVIDIA clarifies that under Windows, multiple monitors are not supported with this feature. Alongside the introduction of Cloud G-SYNC, NVIDIA has also launched the GeForce NOW cloud game day pass, offering Priority and Ultimate versions priced at $3.99 and $7.99, respectively. These passes provide 6 or 8 hours of gaming at the corresponding level, catering to users who temporarily step away from their computers or wish to explore cloud gaming options.

Earlier today, iQOO revealed some key details about the upcoming iQOO Z9 5G smartphone, including its price point. The phone is set to launch below Rs 20,000 (~$243). Ahead of the March 12 launch, tipster Mukul Sharma has revealed the exact pricing of the iQOO Z9 5G smartphone.

As per a leaked promo poster shared by Mukul, the iQOO Z9 will come in two storage options: 8GB/128GB for Rs.17,999 and 8GB/256GB for Rs.19,999. These prices likely include a Rs. 2,000 discount which will be available to ICICI and HDFC bank customers. So the actual retail price will likely be Rs. 19,999 and 21,999. The smartphone will be available for early access on March 13 at 12 PM, with the official sale commencing on March 14 at 12 PM.

iQOO Z9 5G specs:

The iQOO Z9 5G is made with performance in mind, featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC for smooth gaming. It will feature an AMOLED display with 1800 nits peak brightness and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display will also have a 300Hz touch sampling rate and a 1200Hz instant touch sampling rate offering snappy controls and touch response.

The camera setup will includes a Sony IMX882 sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for clear, stable shots. The phone will have a 5000 mAh battery supports up to 5.9 hours of gaming or 17.4 hours of video playback. It could also feature 44W fast charging support. The smartphone will be available in two colors: Brushed Green and Graphene Blue. More details are expected to be revealed as we get closer to the launch, so stay tuned.

Samsung continues its rollout of the One UI 6.0 update, based on Android 14, with the popular Galaxy A72 now joining the list of supported devices.

While many Samsung users are now expecting the newer One UI 6.1, there are still some devices awaiting the One UI 6 update, including the Galaxy A72, which has just begun receiving the Android 14 update.

The update has officially gone live in select Middle Eastern and European countries, with India also on the list.

If you own a Galaxy A72 in these regions, be on the lookout for the update with the firmware version A725FXXU6EXB3, which also includes the January 2024 security patch.

The simplest way to install One UI 6.0 is through an over-the-air (OTA) update. You can check for the update in your phone’s Settings app under Software Update and select Download and Install.

Alternatively, if you prefer a manual update using a Windows PC, you can download the necessary firmware from Samsung’s official archive.

Android 14 marks the final major OS update for the Galaxy A72. However, Samsung may release One UI 6.1 before the device reaches the end of its support period.

What to Expect with One UI 6.0

One UI 6 introduces several noticeable changes. The Quick Panel has been redesigned for easier access to frequently used settings, while a new font refreshes the overall visual experience. Music lovers can enjoy a new media player widget for a lock screen and notification control.

Customization takes center stage with more font and placement options for the lock screen clock widget. And there are two new widgets — “Custom Camera” for quick access to camera settings and “Weather Insights” for detailed weather information.

The Settings app has also gone a makeover, featuring a dedicated Battery section for easier navigation. The camera is now simplified for easier use and the Photo Editor app now has larger controls for easy accessibility.

The weather app now presents even more detailed information about your favorite locations, all wrapped up in a cohesive new design. Finally, Samsung has decluttered the app drawer and home screen by removing its branding from stock app icons.

At the start of this month, Nokia announced that it will launch a new storage variant of the Nokia G42 in India. This model has now officially gone on sale in the region. So here’s everything you need to know about the G42’s pricing and specs.

Nokia G42 4GB + 128GB Pricing and Availability

To recall, the Nokia G42 was first announced in India back in September 2023 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Soon after its release, a new 8GB + 256GB variant in a fresh Pink color option also went on sale. Now, the 4GB + 128GB option has also been released in the region in three color variants. This includes the So Pink, So Purple, and So Gray versions.

It has a price tag of 9,999 INR (roughly 121 US Dollars) and is listed for purchase on Amazon India. There are EMI options as well as exchange benefits as well for interested buyers. Apart from the memory capacity, the device is the same as the other Nokia G42 models. It sports a 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate.
