You might know Fairphone for its smartphones that come with lengthy support periods and repairable designs. However, the company also has a pair of sustainable headphones in the work. Fairbuds XL will be made using eco-friendly materials and offer easy repairability. While there’s no official launch date yet, a new report has shared detailed images of the hearables in two colors with a recycled plastic design. Let’s have a look.

Fairbuds XL are Made using Recycled Plastic

Fairbuds XL will debut as over-ear headphones that follow the same sustainable credentials as the brand’s smartphone. Leaked images of the hearables, shared by Winfuture, suggest they are made using recycled plastic materials. The speckles of different colors on the body of the headphones indicate the use of various colored plastic particles. Moreover, there are easily accessible screws that will make repairing any broken component easy. Their battery is also said to be easily replaceable.

Most hardware details of the Fairbuds XL are still anyone’s guess. The publication points out that the headphones could rely on a joystick and a physical button. The headphones will recharge their batteries via a USB Type-C port located within their right earcup. The leaked images suggest that there are four microphones, with most of them on the right earcup. The Fairphone headphones will come with a focus on repairability, but they are said to be in no way inferior than the products offered by the competition.

Although the launch of Fairbuds XL is expected soon, there has been no official confirmation yet. However, some online retail outlets have listed the headphones with a launch price of €249 (~$272) in Europe.

Panasonic TVs specifications

The newly launched Panasonic televisions come with a slim design and a bezel-less display on all sides. The Panasonic MX850, MX800, MX750, MX740, MX710, and MX700 television models feature a 4K display resolution with HDR10+, micro dimming, and a 4K color engine. On the other hand, the MS680, MS670, and MS550 come with FHD and HD display resolution options. Depending on the variant, these feature a vivid digital processor and 2K HDR support.

All Panasonic televisions are equipped with 20W speakers tuned by Dolby Audio and Audio Booster+. Under the hood, the smart TVs pack up to 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The televisions run on Android TV OS with built-in Chromecast, voice assistant, and fast cast. They ship with pre-installed Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, Disney+ Hotstar, and more.

Connectivity options on the Panasonic TVs include WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI 2.1 ports, USB ports, and a 3.5mm jack.

In terms of smart features, the Dolphin Champion Edition’s NFC car keys may support both Android and iOS operating systems.

The American tech giant has announced that the Expansion Cards will now start from just 90 US Dollars for its base 512GB storage variant. There are two more options, which includes the 1TB and 2TB version for larger storage expansion capacities. Overall, this marks a sizeable discount of over 30 percent for the Seagate Expansion Cards. For those unaware, the usual price tag for the 1TB and 2TB memory cards are 220 US Dollars and 280 US Dollars respectively.

So now, the 1TB model is available for just 150 US Dollars while the 2TB version is being offered for 280 US Dollars. While this price slash is welcomed, many still feel that Microsoft’s proprietary storage expansion options are still quite expensive. As sizes of AAA games easily crossing the 100GB mark, the 512GB option is basically too small, while the 2TB Expansion Card is as expensive as a mid range smartphone with its near 300 US Dollar price tag.

However, this move from the company makes these storage expansion options more accessible to many gamers that are in need of more storage on their latest gen Xbox console. Chinese smartphone brand iQOO has announced that it will be launching its highly anticipated Neo 8 series and its first-ever Android tablet, the iQOO Pad, in China. The launch event is scheduled for May 23, with the company expected to confirm the exact launch date on May 10.

According to leaked images shared by tipster Panda is Bald, the Neo 8 series will comprise two premium smartphones, the Neo 8 and the Neo 8 Pro. The Neo 8 Pro is expected to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC, while the Neo 8 5G is rumored to pack a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.

The Neo 8 Pro boasts an impressive 120W fast charging support, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also features a triple-camera setup on the back, with a 50MP 1/1.5-inch primary camera with OIS support. The phone will be powered by an Android 13 operating system and a 5000mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the Neo 8 is expected to have similar specifications, including a 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution, a 5000mAh battery, and 120W fast charging support. However, details about the phone’s other features remain unknown.

The iQOO Pad is also set to launch alongside the Neo 8 series, but details about the tablet are scarce. However, there is a high chance that it could turn out to be a rebranded Vivo Pad 2 tablet that was recently launched in China.

All leading tablet vendors experienced a decline in Q1 2023. Apple and Samsung maintained their dominance, accounting for nearly 58% of the tablet market. Huawei climbed to third place, while Lenovo and Amazon ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. The reason for this sharp decline in almost all products is quite clear. As of 2023, the Covid-19 pandemic ended, and life returned to normal worldwide.

As practices like working from home and online education decreased, consumer frenzy also slowed down somewhat. Another reason is the increasing inflation and economic difficulties worldwide. Nonetheless, experts remain hopeful about the future of the tablet market.

Jitesh Ubrani, a research manager at IDC’s Mobility and Consumer Device Trackers, remains optimistic despite the downturn in tablet shipments. He notes the increasing interest from vendors, particularly Google’s re-entry, which could potentially enhance Android’s tablet experience and integrate tablets into smart home systems.

For those unaware, the Galaxy F series is the South Korean tech giant’s mid range handset range. So it is safe to assume that this model will also be included in this category.

The tipster even revealed that the new device will sport a tall 6.7 inch AMOLED display that has a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will be equipped with an Exynos 1380 SoC. The smartphone will also be powered by a large 6,000mAh battery pack that will support for 25W fast charging rate. Other notable features include, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, side mounted fingerprint scanner, hybrid SIM slot, WiFi 6, and more. The rear will reportedly feature a triple camera setup, consisting of a 108 megapixel primary sensor with OIS support, 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 2 megapixel macro shooter.

Meanwhile, the front will house a 32 megapixel selfie camera. The device will likely run on Android 13 OS out of the box. The tipster also revealed that the device will be launching in India around the second half of May 2023. Furthermore, he also shared that the Galaxy F54 5G will be priced under 30,000 INR (roughly 366 US Dollars) in the Indian market. While thin bezels alone may not make a phone a top flagship, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to feature several other improvements over its predecessor. Rumors suggest that the device will feature a larger 48MP main camera, which could outshine even the best Android camera phones on the market. Additionally, the Pro Max is highly likely to include a periscope camera, which would provide users with even more advanced camera capabilities.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are also rumored to feature a new chipset, with some reports suggesting that the devices could use Apple’s upcoming A17 chip. The phones are also expected to switch from the traditional mute switch to a programmable action button. In terms of design, the Pro models could feature a titanium frame and be slightly less wide and tall than their predecessors, but 5% thicker. For those unaware, the Search Engine giant is planning to launch the Pixel Tablet soon. However, the ahead of its announcement, it was found listed on Amazon. This listing revealed its entire specifications and even leaked its pricing. It was clearly an accident since the e-commerce listing was taken down soon after it went live. Based on the details found listed on the website, we can see that the Pixel Tablet will sport a tall 10.95 inch LCD panel that has a 2560 x 1600px resolution. This screen will have a 16:10 aspect ratio, 500 nits of peak brightness, and USI 2.0 touch pen compatibility.

Under the hood, the upcoming tablet will be equipped with the Google Tensor G2 that is paired with a Titan M2 security coprocessor. Furthermore, the tablet will house 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the rear, the tablet will feature an 8 megapixel camera that has a 1.12 μm pixel width, f/2.0 aperture, fixed focus, and an 84 degree field of view. Meanwhile, the front will house an 8 megapixel camera on the same specification as well.

Other notable features include, WiFi 6 support, Bluetooth 5.2, USB Type C port, quad speaker setup, 3 microphones, and rear pogo pins for dock functionality. Huawei has announced that it will hold its summer all-scenario new product launch conference on May 18th, where it will unveil a brand new series of tablets called the “Huawei MatePad New Series”. The company has teased that this tablet will be focused on “light” and “new”, with the homonym “more enamored”. It is expected to be a mid-to-high-end flagship tablet that targets light office productivity, positioning it to be more powerful than the digital series.

Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 10T series officially confirmed to get 5G SA update in India

Xiaomi recently announced that it will be releasing a software update in the near future, enabling 5G standalone (SA) network access functionality on devices that do not currently support it in India. This update will enable Xiaomi users to experience the full benefits of 5G technology, including faster speeds, reduced latency, and improved connectivity.

Xiaomi India claims that their selection of more than 20 5G smartphones supports the 4G-based 5G non-standalone (NSA) network. While the 5G SA network does not rely on 4G and offers a more pure and effective 5G experience, some of these devices still do not support it.

In order to allow 5G SA, the brand revealed that it has provided an over-the-air (OTA) update for the Mi 11X, Mi 11 Pro, and Mi 11 Lite NE 5G devices. The business added that updates for the Mi 10, Mi 10i, Mi 10T, and Mi 10T Pro would come soon. The company also said that in order to give its clients a smooth 5G experience, it is updating all of its products.

The announcement comes as India’s leading telecom carriers prepare to launch 5G services there. While Airtel is implementing 5G NSA networks, Reliance Jio is putting out its 5G SA networks. By December 2023 and March 2024, respectively, the two telecoms hope to have finished rolling out their separate networks.

The company asserted that a variety of Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones have been tested on Jio 5G and will work with the network after a rollout of a firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) update.
