Alleged Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 India launch near as they get BIS certified

The Realme 10 series was released in India in December and offered impressive devices with great displays and performance. However, if they didn’t quite capture your attention, then the upcoming Realme 11 series might just do the trick. The brand is already working on this new line, and in the latest update, two of the rumored handsets – the Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 – have received BIS certification, indicating an imminent launch in India.

Realme 11 phones coming to India

Realme’s smartphone business relies chiefly on budget and mid-range smartphones. The brand also has several flagships planned but they don’t quite get the same consumer attention as the more affordable offerings. The Chinese company appears to be ready to soon launch new smartphones under the Realme 11 series. The lineup should include Realme 11 Pro+, Realme 11 Pro, and likely a standard Realme 11.

Today, the Pro model along with the vanilla Realme 11 has bagged Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification with model numbers RMX3771 and RMX3761. The listing did not reveal anything interesting about the two devices except confirming their India launch.

While the Realme 11 Pro has been spotted on many certification sites recently, there has been relatively little information available about the standard Realme 11 as it has appeared in fewer listings. Reports suggest the Pro phone will get a 6.7-inch Full HD+ screen with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB onboard storage.

It is rumored to come equipped with a sizable 4,780mAh battery and a 67W fast charging capability. The device will likely debut with the Android 13 out of the box. The handset’s camera specifications and chipset remains unknown at this time but more details are expected to surface in the near future.

X.AI Corp is Elon Musk’s New Artificial Intelligence Company

Elon Musk is a well-known entrepreneur and innovator who has been involved in creating several successful companies. His first venture was Zip2, a software company he co-founded in 1995 that provided online business directories and city guides for newspapers. In 1999, Musk sold Zip2 for almost $300 million and went on to co-found X.com, an online payment company that later became PayPal. PayPal was sold to eBay in 2002 for over $1 billion, and Musk used his earnings to start SpaceX, a private space exploration company, in 2002. In 2004, Musk also co-founded Tesla, an electric car company that has since become a leading player in the industry. His most recent purchase includes the social media giant Twitter, which was purchased for $44 billion. Now, reports are stating that Elon Musk has founded a new Artificial Intelligence company.

Elon Musk

Last week, news came through that Elon Musk had made a gigantic purchase of around 100,000 GPUs. It was apparent that the billionaire was working on something big, and this news confirms that. Recent reports from The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times reveal that Musk has founded a new AI company named X.AI Corp. Based on state filings viewed by the sources, the new company is incorporated in Nevada, with Musk as the sole director and Jared Birchall, the director of his family’s offices, as the secretary. Known for his penchant for the letter “X”, Musk has even renamed Twitter, Inc. as X Corp.

Although Musk has been involved in AI projects before, he recently expressed concerns about ChatGPT‘s political bias and advocated for its regulation. The Journal suggests that Musk wants to create AI models that are “truth-seeking.” The details of his plans for X.AI Corp and whether he intends to develop a competitor to ChatGPT remain unclear, but reports indicate that he has hired former DeepMind researchers and we already know he purchased thousands of GPUs for AI development. Moreover, he’s already in discussions with investors for Tesla and SpaceX to fund his new venture. Musk’s interest in AI is driven by a combination of fascination with the technology’s potential and a sense of responsibility to ensure that it is developed and used safely and ethically. Only time will tell if Musk conforms to his beliefs with the launch of his AI-based company.

TikTok Faces Ban in Montana (US) as Legislature Passes Controversial Bill

TikTok is a social media app that allows users to create and share short videos set to music or other audio. The app quickly became a global phenomenon, with over 1 billion active users worldwide. TikTok’s algorithm recommends videos to users based on their interests, making it a popular platform for discovering new content and trends. The app has also been the subject of controversy over privacy and security concerns, with the US constantly pressuring the owner of TikTok, Bytedance. As per the latest reports, the application is one signature away from being banned in a US State.

TikTok

Montana is poised to become the first state to ban TikTok if Governor Greg Gianforte signs SB419, a bill that passed the state’s House by a 54-43 vote. If the bill is signed into law, TikTok will not be allowed to operate within the state, and app stores in Montana will be banned from offering it for download. The ban would go into effect in January 2022, but individuals who use TikTok in Montana would not be penalized.

The legislation cites concerns about TikTok’s “dangerous content” and “dangerous challenges,” as well as the potential for ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, to be forced to turn over user data to the Chinese Communist Party. The bill has been criticized by some as vague and virtually unenforceable, while TikTok has hinted at a possible lawsuit, citing First Amendment protections.

Montana is not alone in seeking to restrict the use of TikTok. More than half of the 50 US states have expressed similar concerns about the app. ByteDance has responded to US government requests to spin off TikTok’s US operations by proposing “Project Texas,” which would create a firewall around US data. However, some lawmakers remain unsatisfied.

Critics of the Montana bill, including technology industry group NetChoice and the American Civil Liberties Union, argue that it sets a dangerous precedent for government control over internet use and violates the US Constitution. NetChoice called on Governor Gianforte to veto the bill, while the ACLU labelled it as censorship that would unjustly limit Montanans’ access to a platform for free expression.

As the controversy over TikTok’s ownership and content continues, it remains to be seen whether Montana’s ban will be the first of many or a one-of-a-kind case in the US.

Galaxy S23 Ultra Reviewed by Nothing CEO: “Everyone in Our Industry Should Respect Samsung”

The Samsung Galaxy S23 series was unveiled recently, with the Galaxy S23 Ultra being the standout model that caught everyone’s attention. This true flagship Android phone has been a popular topic for reviews by various tech websites, including Gizmochina, and numerous YouTubers since its debut. The latest review, however, comes from an intriguing figure—Nothing CEO and former OnePlus co-founder, Carl Pei, who has shared his take on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Here are the details…

Nothing CEO Review Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Carl Pei has been posting phone reviews on Nothing’s YouTube channel for a while now, and he recently shared his much-anticipated Galaxy S23 Ultra review. In the video, Pei begins by discussing his deep connections with Samsung, revealing that he was among the first users of the Galaxy S2 and S3 models and was once a Samsung enthusiast. However, he admits that he lost interest in Samsung after those two phones.

As Pei shares his thoughts on the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which he’s been using for some time, he points out that the software bears a striking resemblance to models from 12 years ago. He emphasizes that the hardware is nearly flawless, making it difficult to find anything negative to say about it. The most notable criticism, however, is the striking similarity in design to the Galaxy S22 Ultra released the previous year. Pei highlights a small detail in the design during the video, stating that it’s the only difference between the two phones.

In his Galaxy S23 Ultra review, Carl Pei frequently mentions Nothing and states that their target audience consists of people interested in technology and design. As you may know, the S-Pen is an essential feature for many Samsung users. In fact, when the production of the Note series was halted, many people objected to the decision. However, Carl Pei argues that while the S-Pen may seem attractive on paper, it is not very useful in reality and takes up too much space.

When discussing the camera, Pei reiterates a simple truth: the importance of 200 megapixels is overstated. He says, “the larger the camera lens, the better the camera.” The basic logic here is that the more light a camera lens can capture, the better the resulting photo will be. As for Samsung’s frequently criticized “fake Moon” photos, Pei says that it’s something new and has been recurring every two years for the last six years.

Although One UI 5.0 has satisfied many people, Nothing’s CEO isn’t among them. While he describes the interface as “outdated,” his primary criticism is about the pre-installed applications. He emphasizes that, compared to Samsung’s 30+ preloaded apps, their own phones have only a few. However, when making a general statement, he said, “Everyone in our industry should respect Samsung.”

Drawing attention to the fact that Google and Samsung built the Android ecosystem together, he stated, “If it weren’t for Samsung, we wouldn’t be here.”Nothing’s CEO, known for his objective comments, concluded his Galaxy S23 Ultra review on a positive note. What tech enthusiasts are most curious about now is which phone will be next in line.

Saga helps to simplify the overall web3 experience using the Seed Vault, a secure, biometric-integrated custody solution in the industry. Industry experts have claimed that Saga has elevated what’s possible on web3. It is built for our mobile-first lifestyles while ensuring the safety and security of your digital assets. Saga makes web3 fun in a refreshing manner.

You can use Saga to create an instant NFT from a picture on your smartphone. It also helps you to conveniently manage your digital assets at any time. You can use Saga to make crypto payments on the go. The bouquet of services and activities possible with Saga seeks to redefine the mobile experience for web3. The extension of crypto activities to the mobile arena holds much promise. Most crypto experiences are presented through the desktop and its mobile integration creates new vistas for the product.

Saga offers blockchain support in a more secure and guaranteed manner than what is obtained when interfacing with your blockchain site through browsers. It offers a seamless alternative that overcomes several challenges in the desktop framework. The current reliance of users on in-wallet web browsing for their transactions can be sub-optimal. This does not factor in the massive opportunities for improvement available in a mobile phone. In addition, in-app wallet support also poses some security risks in using multiple apps to store your private keys.

Solana Mobile says it has made significant strides since it commenced the Saga project last year. Its goal was to modernize how people interact with their digital assets and improve their security. The Saga smartphone is the building block for the new era of web3 mobile experience. It is a sleek and beautifully-designed Android smartphone. The Sage is dripping with flagship components like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1chip, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of flash, and a 6.67-inch OLED screen. The Saga is available for $1,000 from OSOM. Users are guaranteed a new experience in the Solana dApp Store which offers several web3 apps.

Saga is available to ship to the US, the UK, the EU, and a few other markets. Saga Pass holders have a higher possibility of getting the product within the first batch of shipments. There are lots of goodies that come with the Saga including a Welcome Pack, a Saga Genesis token NFT when they set up their device, and more.

Didi Introduces “Didi Neuron”: A RoboTaxi Concept with Robotic Arms

Chinese ride-hailing giant Didi Global recently revealed its innovative robotaxi concept car, the “Didi Neuron,” at a virtual company event. This futuristic vehicle aims to enhance the passenger experience with robotic arms that can help carry luggage and retrieve items like water bottles. Here are the details…

Didi Global Introduces RoboTaxi “Didi Neuron”

Didi Autonomous Driving COO Meng Xing showcased the eye-catching blue and white vehicle, which is part of Didi’s ambitious plan to develop their own robotaxis in collaboration with local Chinese carmakers. The goal is to have these autonomous vehicles operational and integrated into Didi’s network by 2025.

Meng Xing emphasized Didi’s commitment to local production, stating, “We hope they will be domestically produced. We hope the supply chain is controllable, and even 90% of the key components inside can be domestically produced.”

The Didi Neuron concept car removes the need for a driver’s seat, providing more space for passengers. Its most distinctive feature, the robotic arms, highlights Didi’s dedication to offering innovative and convenient services. The company also unveiled a lidar sensor and a car computing device at the event, showcasing Didi’s progress in autonomous driving technology after nearly two years of overcoming regulatory challenges.

Didi’s journey into autonomous vehicles began in 2016. Since then, their AV unit has attracted significant investments from firms like IDG Capital and Guotai Junan. The company currently provides self-driving cars in select areas of Shanghai and Guangzhou through its main app, with Swedish carmaker Volvo, owned by Geely, supplying Didi’s autonomous fleet.

However, Didi has faced regulatory hurdles in recent years. In 2021, after the company proceeded with a U.S. stock listing against the wishes of Chinese regulators, it faced a cybersecurity investigation that led to the removal of its 25 mobile apps from app stores and the suspension of new user registration. Subsequently, Didi delisted from New York and received a $1.2 billion fine for data-security breaches. Fortunately, the company was allowed to resume new user registrations in January.
