The Realme 10 series was released in India in December and offered impressive devices with great displays and performance. However, if they didn’t quite capture your attention, then the upcoming Realme 11 series might just do the trick. The brand is already working on this new line, and in the latest update, two of the rumored handsets – the Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 – have received BIS certification, indicating an imminent launch in India.

Realme 11 phones coming to India

Realme’s smartphone business relies chiefly on budget and mid-range smartphones. The brand also has several flagships planned but they don’t quite get the same consumer attention as the more affordable offerings. The Chinese company appears to be ready to soon launch new smartphones under the Realme 11 series. The lineup should include Realme 11 Pro+, Realme 11 Pro, and likely a standard Realme 11.

Today, the Pro model along with the vanilla Realme 11 has bagged Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification with model numbers RMX3771 and RMX3761. The listing did not reveal anything interesting about the two devices except confirming their India launch.

While the Realme 11 Pro has been spotted on many certification sites recently, there has been relatively little information available about the standard Realme 11 as it has appeared in fewer listings. Reports suggest the Pro phone will get a 6.7-inch Full HD+ screen with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB onboard storage.

It is rumored to come equipped with a sizable 4,780mAh battery and a 67W fast charging capability. The device will likely debut with the Android 13 out of the box. The handset’s camera specifications and chipset remains unknown at this time but more details are expected to surface in the near future.

Last week, news came through that Elon Musk had made a gigantic purchase of around 100,000 GPUs. It was apparent that the billionaire was working on something big, and this news confirms that. Recent reports from The Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times reveal that Musk has founded a new AI company named X.AI Corp. Based on state filings viewed by the sources, the new company is incorporated in Nevada, with Musk as the sole director and Jared Birchall, the director of his family’s offices, as the secretary. Known for his penchant for the letter “X”, Musk has even renamed Twitter, Inc. as X Corp.

Although Musk has been involved in AI projects before, he recently expressed concerns about ChatGPT‘s political bias and advocated for its regulation. The Journal suggests that Musk wants to create AI models that are “truth-seeking.” The details of his plans for X.AI Corp and whether he intends to develop a competitor to ChatGPT remain unclear, but reports indicate that he has hired former DeepMind researchers and we already know he purchased thousands of GPUs for AI development. Moreover, he’s already in discussions with investors for Tesla and SpaceX to fund his new venture. Musk’s interest in AI is driven by a combination of fascination with the technology’s potential and a sense of responsibility to ensure that it is developed and used safely and ethically. The Windows Insider team has just dropped another exciting update for Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23435 on the Dev Channel, and we’re here to give you the rundown on what’s new and improved.

One of the major highlights of this update is the introduction of Gallery, a new feature in File Explorer that’s designed to give users easy access to their photo collection. With Gallery, they can view the same set of content that you see in the All Photos view in the Photos app, and it’s optimized for the most recently taken photos. If users have OneDrive Camera Roll Backup set up on their phones, their photos will automatically appear at the top of the view. They can also choose which folders are shown in Gallery through the Collection dropdown, as well as add subfolders of existing sources to filter to a subset of their content.

Gallery isn’t just limited to File Explorer either. Users can use it from the file-picking dialog, which means they can easily access their photos when they are inserting attachments, building a PowerPoint deck, or crafting social media posts. This makes the process of finding and using photos a lot smoother and more streamlined.

Apart from the introduction of Gallery, there are several other changes and improvements in this update. For instance, there are new steps for users logging in with local user accounts on the Start menu, which are aimed at highlighting the benefits of signing in with a Microsoft account (MSA). There are also new presence sensor privacy settings and APIs, which allow you to manage your privacy and block/allow certain apps from accessing these sensors.

TikTok Faces Ban in Montana (US) as Legislature Passes Controversial Bill

TikTok is a social media app that allows users to create and share short videos set to music or other audio. The app quickly became a global phenomenon, with over 1 billion active users worldwide. TikTok’s algorithm recommends videos to users based on their interests, making it a popular platform for discovering new content and trends. The app has also been the subject of controversy over privacy and security concerns, with the US constantly pressuring the owner of TikTok, Bytedance. As per the latest reports, the application is one signature away from being banned in a US State.

Montana is poised to become the first state to ban TikTok if Governor Greg Gianforte signs SB419, a bill that passed the state’s House by a 54-43 vote. If the bill is signed into law, TikTok will not be allowed to operate within the state, and app stores in Montana will be banned from offering it for download. The ban would go into effect in January 2022, but individuals who use TikTok in Montana would not be penalized.

The legislation cites concerns about TikTok’s “dangerous content” and “dangerous challenges,” as well as the potential for ByteDance, the Chinese company that owns TikTok, to be forced to turn over user data to the Chinese Communist Party. The bill has been criticized by some as vague and virtually unenforceable, while TikTok has hinted at a possible lawsuit, citing First Amendment protections.

Montana is not alone in seeking to restrict the use of TikTok. More than half of the 50 US states have expressed similar concerns about the app. ByteDance has responded to US government requests to spin off TikTok’s US operations by proposing “Project Texas,” which would create a firewall around US data. However, some lawmakers remain unsatisfied.

Critics of the Montana bill, including technology industry group NetChoice and the American Civil Liberties Union, argue that it sets a dangerous precedent for government control over internet use and violates the US Constitution. NetChoice called on Governor Gianforte to veto the bill, while the ACLU labelled it as censorship that would unjustly limit Montanans’ access to a platform for free expression.

Xiaomi is set to release the Sound Move Bluetooth Speaker. The new portable device will be unveiled together with the Xiaomi 13 Ultra on April 18. The scheduled Xiaomi product launch event will also see the release of other Xiaomi products. The Sound Move comes in a compact form factor.

The Xiaomi Sound Move is designed for use both indoors and outdoors and is Xiaomi’s introduction into the compact Bluetooth soundbars segment of the audio ecosystem. An image of the Sound Move was revealed by a Weibo user but its technical details are not yet known at this time. As per the Sound Move image on Weibo, it reflects a clean and modern design with buttons on the left side for controlling audio and Bluetooth.

The Buds 4 supports fast charging, with 10 minutes of charge yielding up to 2.5 hours of playtime. The earbuds have a battery life of 6 hours, extended to 30 hours with its charging case.

In a related development, the Chinese tech giant has hinted that it would be pushing a firmware update to the Xiaomi Buds 4. Teh new update will expand the number of compatible smartphones on which the earbuds support 192 kHz audio.

The Xiaomi Buds 4 was first launched in December 2022 with enhanced audio output. The earbuds support the LHDC codec and deliver 192 kHz in some smartphones like the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13. Other compatible models will be added via the firmware updates for the earbuds. However, smartphones powered by the MediaTek chipset do not support LHDC 5.0. The Xiaomi Buds 4 has three mics for noise cancellation and excellent audio clarity. The earbuds also has IP54 certification for dust and water resistance.

The latest teasers reveal the vanilla Pad 6 will arrive with the Snapdragon 870 SoC under the hood. Now, this chipset may sound like it’s brand new but in reality, it is just a rebranded Snapdragon 865 found on last year’s Pad 5 Pro.

The Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro is teased to feature last year’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is quite capable and powers a number of mid-range devices launched this year. In addition, the brand revealed the upcoming tablet series will get a 144 Hz display with a 309 PPI and a 2.8K resolution. Both slates may get an 11-inch panel but there’s no official confirmation as of yet.

Further, Xiaomi claims the Pad 6 series will boast a massive 8,600mAh dual-cell battery that will last up to 47.9 days on standby when put on the new deep sleep mode. For charging the battery, the tablets will support 67W fast wired charging. It’s unlikely that any of the two devices will support wireless charging.

Samsung will debut the Galaxy M14 5G in India on April 17 (Monday) at 12 PM IST. As per the teasers, the device will be a rebranded version of Galaxy A14 5G.

The handset will be powered by an Exynos 1330 chipset. It will sport an Infinity-V display, which may have a 90Hz refresh rate. It will come with a 50MP camera, a 6,000mAh battery, and 25W fast charging support.

The phone is teased to cost below ₹15,000 (~$180) in the country.

2. Huawei Nova 11 Series and Enjoy 60X

The Huawei Nova 11 series is scheduled to launch in China on April 17 (Monday) at 12 PM IST. It will be accompanied by Huawei Enjoy 60X.

The Nova 11 series will be the first mid-range smartphone lineup to have support for a satellite communication system. At least, one of the models in the lineup will be also the first inexpensive smartphone to offer a variable aperture camera. Anyways, they will be limited to 4G connectivity.

Whereas, the Enoy 60X will arrive with a massive 7,000mAh battery and a large 6.95-inch display. However, the screen will be an HD+ LCD panel and the device will be powered by a years-old Kriin 710F chip.

3. Xiaomi 13 Ultra

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2023. It is set to launch on April 18 (Tuesday) at 7 PM GMT+8. Unlike, its predecessor, it will be released in select international markets outside mainland China.

As per leaks and teasers, the handset will be equipped with a Leica-powered quad-camera system. The setup will include a 50MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 primary sensor with variable aperture and three 50MP Sony IMX588 sensors for ultra-wide, telephoto, and periscope lenses.

Other features include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, USB 3.x, 90W wired changing, and 50W wireless charging.

4. Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip

The Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip are planned to launch in China on April 20 (Thursday) at 7 PM GMT+8. The former is the company’s third horizontal foldable smartphone, while the latter is its first clamshell foldable.

The X Fold 2 is said to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, an 8.03-inch internal display, a 6.53-inch cover screen, a 50MP Sony IMX866 primary camera, a Vivo V2 ISP chip, a 4,800mAh battery, and 120W fast charging support.

While the X Flip will arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, a 6.8-inch main panel, an inconvenient cover screen, a 4,400mAh battery, and 44W fast charging support.

MINISFORUM NPB7 mini PC with Intel Core i7-13700H processor and dual 2.5Gbe Ethernet port launched

MINISFORUM has started receiving pre-orders for the MINISFORUM NPB7 mini PC. The NPB7 is powered by the Intel Core i7-13700H processor and two 2.5GbE Ethernet ports. This comes on the heels of the recent release of a smaller and inexpensive PC with support for up to four 4K displays and the 12th-gen Intel Core H processors. The new MINISFORUM NPB7 has the 13th-gen Core i7 processor.

The MINISFORUM NPB7 and the earlier MINISFORUM NAB6 share several similarities. In fact, the new model is a refreshed version of the NAB6 and comes with DDR5 memory, unlike the DDR2 in the NAB6. It is priced higher than its earlier sibling although the price remains inexpensive. The gadget is equipped with a heat sink and fan. Customers can also get an active SSD heat sink with a built-in fan.

The Intel Core i7-13700H processor is equipped with 14 cores consisting of 6 Performance and 8 Efficiency cores. It is a 45W, 2D thread chip with a 1.5GHz Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics module. The MINISFORUM NPB7’s case can be easily opened and allows for an easy upgrade or replacement of its components. There is an assortment of ports for the mini PC including HDMI, USB4 Type-C (with DP Alt mode), USB 3.2 Gen 2 (Type-A and Type-C), as well as USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A. Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E are also supported in the mini PC.

The MINISFORUM NPB7 is available for pre-order and will ship by mid-May 2023. The product will retail at a starting price of $609 for the barebones model. However, the corresponding pre-order price starts at $489+$120 for memory accessories. The highest memory configuration is the 64GB/ 1TB model with a pre-order price of $799. The corresponding original price of the model is $999.

The new variant of the Tecno Spark 10 5G packs 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. There is support for 8GB virtual RAM technology. The core specifications of the latest option remain the same as the base model. The Spark 10 5G 8GB + 128GB option is priced at Rs 14,499 and is available for purchase at the nearest retail stores in the country.

The Tecno Spark 10 5G features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button. The back panel has a Tetris-like design with one big ring and another small ring housing a 50MP main sensor and an AI lens respectively. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie snapper. The Tecno Spark 10 5G has a 6.6-inch display bearing an HD resolution and a waterdrop notch. It offers a 90Hz refresh rate and 480 nits peak brightness.

Internally the Tecno Spark 10 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 processor. It is offered in 4GB + 64GB and 8GB + 128GB RAM and storage options with the latter expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot. The device is equipped with a 11851mm graphite sheet for heat dissipation. The smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery unit supporting 18W fast charging.

The Tecno Spark 10 5G runs on HiOS 12.6 based on Android 13 OS. Connectivity options on the smartphone include a USB-C port, NFC, Dual 5G, and a 3.5mm jack.

The Tecno Spark 105G is offered in Meta Black, Meta White, and Meta Blue colors.

The Didi Neuron concept car removes the need for a driver’s seat, providing more space for passengers. Its most distinctive feature, the robotic arms, highlights Didi’s dedication to offering innovative and convenient services. The company also unveiled a lidar sensor and a car computing device at the event, showcasing Didi’s progress in autonomous driving technology after nearly two years of overcoming regulatory challenges.

Didi’s journey into autonomous vehicles began in 2016. Since then, their AV unit has attracted significant investments from firms like IDG Capital and Guotai Junan. The company currently provides self-driving cars in select areas of Shanghai and Guangzhou through its main app, with Swedish carmaker Volvo, owned by Geely, supplying Didi’s autonomous fleet.

However, Didi has faced regulatory hurdles in recent years. In 2021, after the company proceeded with a U.S. stock listing against the wishes of Chinese regulators, it faced a cybersecurity investigation that led to the removal of its 25 mobile apps from app stores and the suspension of new user registration. Subsequently, Didi delisted from New York and received a $1.2 billion fine for data-security breaches. Fortunately, the company was allowed to resume new user registrations in January.

Lava is reportedly working on Agni 2 5G smartphone. Earlier in February this year, the phone’s key specifications and launch timeline were tipped. It had also appeared on Geekbench benchmarking platform last month. Now, new information about the upcoming smartphone has surfaced online. The Agni 2 5G is expected to arrive as the successor to last year’s Agni 5G.

As per a Twitter user, the Lava Agni 2 5G will feature an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is tipped to launch sometime in May and carry a sub-Rs 25,000 price tag, If this indeed turns out to be true, then a phone with a 120Hz AMOLED screen in the mentioned price segment will be a great deal.

The latest information is also contrasting with a previous report saying that the Agni 2 5G will come with a 6.5-inch LCD screen bearing an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate.

Apart from the new information, the Lava Agni 2 5G will reportedly be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor as per Geekbench. It will pack 8GB RAM and we can expect more options at launch. The device will run on Android 13 OS out of the box. The upcoming offering is tipped to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery unit with support for 44W fast charging. On the imaging front, the Lava Agni 5G is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP OIS-enabled primary sensor and a 16MP front-facing selfie snapper.
