Last month, Oppo launched the Reno 8 series smartphones in China. The series consists of the vanilla Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and Reno 8 Pro+. A report earlier this month claimed that the smartphones will make their Indian debut in the month of June, however, the month is about to end and there is no official word from the brand on this matter.
Now, reliable tipster Yogesh Brar has tweeted out that the brand will debut the Reno 8 series in India by mid-July. This means that the device is expected to launch anytime during the first couple of weeks.
OPPO will announce the Reno8 Pro with MarisiliconX in India by mid-July. This offcourse will be coming alongside the regular Reno8.
The tipster also added that the Reno 8 Pro will debut with the MariSilicon X NPU and the brand will also launch the vanilla Reno 8 device at the launch event. So, let’s take a look at what we know so far about these upcoming smartphones.
OPPO Reno 8 Pro, Reno 8 specs
A recent Geekbench listing revealed that the Reno 8 Pro+ will launch as the Reno 8 Pro in India. This means that the device will come with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Max chipset, paired with the MariSilicon X NPU to offer better camera performance. It will be offered with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will likely bring a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Coming to the vanilla Reno 8, the device will feature a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display paired with 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will house a Dimensity 1300 SoC which will draw power from a 4,500mAh battery unit with support for 80W fast charging. For optics, the device will most likely feature a 50MP + 2MP + 2MP camera setup on the back and a 32MP sensor on the front.
ASUS ROG Phone 6 is slated to go official on July 5 in Taiwan, China, and the US. One of the variants of the ROG Phone 6 series was recently spotted at the TENAA certification site with full specifications. Now the listing has been updated with its images. The TENAA images of the device show that the ROG Phone 6 will not offer any significant improvement in the design department.
ASUS ROG Phone 6 design
The front of the ROG Phone 6 is not clearly visible in the TENAA images. However, it appears that its display will feature a centrally positioned punch-hole. The screen will come integrated with a fingerprint sensor. The rear shell of the device has a horizontal triple camera unit at the top-left corner.
ASUS ROG Phone 6 TENAA images
It seems to be fitted with a vertically aligned secondary display towards the centre. Some sort of LED indicator seems to be present on the opposite side of the secondary screen. The ROG logo and Tencent Games branding are available towards the bottom of the back panel. The right side of the device features a volume rocker and a power key. The TENAA images match the 2D renders, which were leaked by Equal Leaks earlier this year.
ASUS ROG Phone 6 specifications
The ASUS ROG Phone 6 will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that produces a 165Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It will come preloaded with the Android 12 OS and ROG UI. It will feature a 12-megapixel front camera, and a 64-megapixel triple camera unit.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered device will come with 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. It may pack a 6,000mAh battery dual-cell battery with 65W fast charging support. It is unclear whether all three rumored devices, such as the ROG Phone 6, 6 Pro, and 6 Ultimate will debut on July 5.
Apple has dominated the premium smartphone segment market again. The company is the market leader in this category, with its iPhones series of smartphone being the most popular offering.
iPhone 13
The news arrives from a Counterpoint Research report, which stated that the Cupertino based giant managed to acquire a massive market share of 62 percent in the global premium smartphone segment in Q1 2022. In other words, this means that the brand almost had a two thirds of the entire market under its belt. Typically, a premium smartphone is considered to be a handset that costs over 400 US Dollars. So two in every three devices sold above this price tag was an iPhone model.
Although, this also implies that some mid range phones like the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G model was also included in this list. But despite the likes of the South Korean brands having an advantage for having a more diverse smartphone portfolio, Apple still managed to dominate the entire segment in the first quarter of this year. As of right now, the iPhone maker’s shares are up by 5 percent over last year. Back in 2021, the iPhone 12 series was also quite popular thanks to the lineup being the first 5G enabled iPhones.
Interestingly, this also means that the iPhone 13 is currently the world’s best selling smartphone model, since it practically beat offerings from every other rival in the handset market by a large margin. Apart from this, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone was the best selling premium Android smartphone in the market during this same period.
Earlier this week, Instagram announced that it was testing new options to test the users age for its verification system when making an account. Apparently, one of the options might have users take a selfie video to prove their age.
The popular social media platform has stated that it is testing two new ways to verify one’s age, apart from requiring them to upload their identity proof online. Erica Finkle, director of data governance at Meta (Instagram’s parent company), said that “When we know if someone is a teen (13-17 years), we provide them with age appropriate experiences like defaulting them into private accounts, preventing unwanted contact from adults they don’t know and limiting the options advertisers have to reach them with ads.”
For this verification system, the company will be partnering up with Yoti, which a firm that specializes in online age verification and also ensures users’ privacy. Once the video is uploaded by the user, Yoti’s technology estimates their age based on facial features. Following this, Meta and Yoti will delete the image once the age has been verified. Apart from this, Instagram also plans on allowing people to select three mutual followers to confirm the user’s age.
Although, the people vouching for the verification process must be at least 18 years old. Notably, the popular app is bringing this system after it paused the launch of Instagram Kids last year. This app was meant to be dedicated for children and would require parental approval by providing an ad free and age appropriate content on its platform.
While Apple is preparing for the launch of its iPhone 14 series later this year, we have already reported on rumors regarding the next year’s iPhone 15 as well. Now, a new report has revealed that there might be some similarities between the 2022 and 2023 iPhone lineup.
The new rumor arrives from Omdia (Via PhoneArena) and states that the next year’s iPhone 15 lineup will feature similar display specs as the upcoming iPhone 14 series. Apparently, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 will have the same display size. Furthermore, the iPhone 15 will reportedly also feature the same dual punch hole style cutout on its display that is shaped like a pill.
For those unaware, the iPhone 14 Pro series is expected to finally get rid of its large notch on the front in favor of two cutouts for the FaceID sensors and the selfie camera. And it appears that the iPhone 15 lineup will also have a similar front design. Notably, this will also include lower end base model as well unlike the iPhone 14 series. This report also implies that the Cupertino based giant will ship its iPhones with the same display sizes two years in a row.
iPhone 14 Pro render
Interestingly, the Omdia report also added that that Apple is falling behind other smartphone brand rivals when it comes to under display cameras and FaceID technology. These features will likely ship sometime around iPhone 16 lineup. Keep in mind that the iPhone 15 is still a long while away from launch, so take this report with a pinch of salt for now.
The Huawei Nova Y90 has gone official. It is a mid-range phone positioned above the Nova Y70 series, which went official in the global markets recently. While the entire specifications of the smartphone have been revealed, the company is yet to confirm its price and availability. Here is all the information on the specifications, features, and price of the Nova Y90.
Huawei Nova Y90 specifications and features
The Huawei Nova Y90 has a 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel with a punch-hole design. It offers a screen resolution of 1080 x 2388 pixels, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 270Hz. Huawei claims that the Nova Y90 has a 94.2 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Huawei Nova Y90
On the front, the Nova Y90 has an 8-megapixel camera for snapping selfies. It has a round-shaped camera module on the back. It comprises a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and an LED flash unit.
The Snapdragon 690 chip powers the Huawei Nova Y90. The device ships with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. It packs a 5,000mAh battery that carries support for 40W fast charging. The handset runs on the Android 12 OS with EMUI 12 on top.
For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner. The handset offers connectivity options, such as dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. A new gaming test has thrown up some performance issues for the Xiaomi Poco F4 GT. The Poco F4 GT is POCO’s first gaming-focused smartphone for the global audience.
A YouTube video first shared by Golden Reviewer revealed the poor performance of the Poco F4 GT as a gaming phone. The Poco GT throttled throughout the duration of the testing even though it achieved its maximum of 60 fps.
The Poco F4 GT is a renamed Redmi K50 Gaming Edition that was released earlier this year. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and features magnetomotive shoulder triggers. Overall, the YouTube video showed that the Poco F4 GT settled at an average of 47.5 fps.
The result translates to a damning slow gaming device and the Poco F4 GT is the most underwhelming in the category. The throttling began just three minutes into the test and the device settled at just 40 fps by the tenth minute of the test.
To put the performance in perspective, the S22 Ultra got averaged between 56fps and 58fps depending on its chip. The S22 Ultra model with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip performed slightly better than the Exynos 990 and 2200-powered models. It should be seen that being a gaming device, the Poco F4 GT’s performance becomes more woeful. It is unclear what could be the reason for the results. It has also to be noted that the test may not be definitive of the full capability of the smartphone.
The gaming test results which compared 8 smartphones showed that the Poco F4 GT also came short in average power/ Watt and efficiency fps/ Watt. It is unclear what the cause of the poor performance could be. The processor can be one of the major sources of such under-par performance, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra (with the same SD 8 Gen 1 chip) had a higher fps.
Earlier today (24th June 2022), we had covered an announcement from Huawei that confirmed the launch date for the Nova 10 series of smartphones. Now, the top end Pro model from the series might have just been spotted in an online benchmark listing. This revealed some of its specifications, so let’s have a look.
According to a MySmartPricereport, a smartphone model from the Chinese tech giant had surfaced on popular benchmarking platform, GeekBench. This handset carried the model number GLA-AL00. In other words, this device is likely a part of the Nova 10 series and is the higher end Pro variant. Furthermore, the benchmark listing also revealed the Nova 10 Pro‘s SoC, OS version, and even RAM.
Looking at the GeekBench results, the smartphone scored 784 points in single core tests and 2813 points in the multi core test. Its processor is an octa core chip with four cores clocked at 2.4GHz and four cores that are clocked at 1.8GHz. So, it is undoubtedly the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, which will be paired with the Adreno 642L GPU. The benchmark also lists the device running on Android 11 OS.
Nova 10 Pro
Another notable details is that the Nova 10 Pro will launch with at least one storage configuration that has 8GB of RAM. From what we know so far, the device is expected to sport a 6.7 inch curved OLED display and a pill shaped cutout on the front for its dual selfie camera module and support for 120Hz refresh rate. The device might feature around 100W fast charging and will feature a 50 megapixel primary sensor on the back.
Nothing’s debut smartphone, the Phone (1), is arguably the most hyped smartphone. The company carefully revealed details of the phone in bits and pieces for months. However, more and more details have started to emerge as we get closer to the launch. A latest leak has now revealed the Pre-order details of the phone for Indian market. Let’s delve deeper into the details.
As initially spotted by Noted tipster Mukul Sharma, Flipkart listed the Nothing Phone (1) pre-order pass for Indian market. The listing detailed some information about the procedure and terms of pre-order pass. The Pre-order pass listing was only live for a short time but thankfully, Sharma captured screenshots to prove the development.
As you can see in the tweet, interested buyers can purchase the Nothing Phone (1) pre-order at a security deposit of Rs. 2,000. The pass will provide people with a special discount on a Nothing phone (1) accessory (Probably the case) along with some exclusive pre-order offers. After purchasing the pass, customers would be able to pre-order the phone through Flipkart.
Customers purchasing the Pre-order pass will be emailed an invite code that will be used during final purchase. Do note that the pass guarantees you’ll be able to pre-order the smartphone, but it’s not the actual order itself.
As per the screenshots, people with pre-order pass will be able to buy the Nothing Phone 1 via Flipkart at 9pm on July 12. The Rs. 2,000 security deposit for the pass will be adjusted to the final price.
The price of the Nothing Phone (1) is not revealed yet but we expect it to be priced under Rs. 30,000. It was recently uncovered that Nothing’s debut phone will likely be powered by a not-so-impressive Snapdragon 778+.

Lastly, the publication has shared a design render of the smartphone. As per the image, the smartphone measures 166.1mm X 76.4mm (Height and width). The render also confirms a triple rear camera setup accompanied by an LED flash.
Yesterday, popular tipster OnLeaks released the first renders of the Nova 10 Pro. Today, Huawei has officially confirmed that the smartphone will be announced on July 4. At the same time, multiple sources have released some more images of the Nova 10 Pro.
Huawei Nova 10 Pro specifications, design
As can be seen, the Huawei Nova 10 Pro features a 6.7-inch OLED display with curved edges on the front. It will probably have support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Like last year’s Nova 9 Pro, the Nova 10 Pro features a pill-shaped cutout for dual front-facing cameras in the upper-left corner. The machine-translated text by Digital Chat Station’s Weibo post reveals that the Nova 10 Pro is equipped with a “60-megapixel front-facing dual-focus camera.” In addition, the screen seems to be integrated with a fingerprint scanner.

Earlier this month, two Huawei devices with model numbers NCO-AL00 and GLA-AL00 were approved by the 3C authority of China. The 3C listings reveal that these devices may ship with a 66W and a 100W charger, respectively. Speculations are rife that the NCO-AL00 model could be the vanilla Nova 10 and the GLA-AL00 variant could be its Pro version. Even though the company has only said that the Pro model exists, it is likely that the vanilla model will also be made official on July 4.
Huawei teased its next-generation FreeBuds Pro 2 TWS earbuds for a few days and the company has now officially launched the wireless audio wearable product at a launch event for Central and Eastern European.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 TWS earbuds have been made in collaboration with France-based sound technology company Devialet. Compared to the processor, the new earphones come with improved performance and longer battery life.
The newly announced Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 come with dual drivers and three microphones for 47dB noise suppression. This is a new benchmark for the company in terms of noise cancellation as in the previous generation model, it was at 40dB.
It supports the biggest frequency range for Huawei earbuds, going from 14Hz to 48kHz. The company has also added an adaptive equalizer that learns the user behavior and tweaks the audio for better sound output.
The noise cancellation feature supports three different modes — General Mode, Cozy Mode, and Ultra Mode. There’s also an Awareness Mode when the user wants to be aware of the surroundings during outdoor activities. Unlike its predecessor, this time the earbuds are IP54 compliant for water and dust resistance.
Huawei has not revealed the battery capacity of the FreeBuds Pro 2 but has promised up to 30 hours of battery life with the charging case. It offers four hours of playback on a single charger with ANC enabled and 6.5 hours without Active Noise Cancellation.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 comes in three color options — Silver Blue, Silver Frost (Black), and Ceramic White and is priced at about €200. Those who pre-order the earbuds will get Huawei Band 7 for free. It is now up for pre-order and will start shipping from 11th July.
Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphone along with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and it appears that the design of the clamshell foldable smartphone remains the same as its predecessor.
While the design might be similar to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be offered in interesting color options. The latest report coming from Ross Young has revealed the color options which will be available for the smartphone.
As per the report, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be available in nine color options, which include Gold, Gray, Light Blue, and Purple. There are also five combination colors — Black/Green/Green, Gold/Yellow/White, Gold/Yellow/Yellow, Silver/Navy/Navy, and Silver/White/White.
It is said that the gray-colored model will be produced in large numbers for the first few months, followed by purple and gold. In that case, it’s safe to assume that the South Korean giant is of the opinion that there won’t be many takers for the new hues.
The phone is expected to have a 2.1-inch cover screen and a 16.7-inch main foldable display with a less noticeable crease. Under the hood, it will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, there will be a 12MP dual-camera setup on the back. It is expected to run the Android-based One UI and be powered by a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging and 10W wireless charging.

OSOM is a new smartphone brand formed by some of the former members of the Essential company. It was already confirmed a few months ago that the company will be launching its first smartphone later this year.
The phone, which was called OSOM OV1, has now been renamed to Solana Saga. Not just that, the company has also revealed that it is becoming a web3-focused Android handset.
The rebranded of the smartphone also drops the name OSOM and instead the device is now being launched by Solana Mobile, which is a subsidiary of Solana Labs.
Earlier, the company had revealed that the phone will be launched in the second half of this year but now the launch has been pushed back to “early 2023” but there’s no exact timeline available for its availability.
However, the company has opened up pre-orders for the Solana Saga. It features a 6.67-inch OLED display. The device will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.
It will have Solana Mobile Stack (SMS), which utilizes security features baked into the Qualcomm chip. It is said to be “a framework for Android allowing developers to create rich mobile experiences for wallets and apps on Solana.”
The phone will feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera sensor, coupled with a 12MP Sony IMX373 ultra-wide lens. On the front side, there will be a 16MP snapper for taking selfies and video calling.
It comes with support for features like Bluetooth 5.0 and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device will be powered by a 4,100mAh battery and come with wireless charging support. While the pricing is not yet known, the company is expected to price Solana Saga at around $1,000 even though the company was talking about pricing the OSOM OV1 smartphone well under $1,000.
