A UK retailer already listed the Galaxy S22 series accessories on its website

Samsung Galaxy S22 series will have several accessories and some of these have been spotted in a UK retailer’s listing. It is indicated that there will be dozens of Galaxy S22 accessories that customers could choose from. A phone case is an important protective accessory for the device and box.co.uk has already listed a massive 66 official phone cases in different colors for the Galaxy S22 series.Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

The United Kingdom retailer also stated that the signature Galaxy S22 Ultra’s S Pen will come in four colors as the smartphone itself namely dark red, green, white, and black. There could likely be housing for the S Pen, as the cases displayed by the retailer did not provide such an addition. While it could be speculated that there may no casing for the S Pen, it is most probable that Samsung will provide a silo within the smartphone’s casing with the opening on the bottom of the phone. That will bear a close semblance to what we find in the Galaxy Note.

There are a variety of phone cases that were listed for the Galaxy S22 lineup with prices also attached, but these prices could just be a placeholder pending when the actual pricing will be available. We already know that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will be powered by either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 chipsets, with the Qualcomm chip deployed in China, the United States, and Canada.Samsung Galaxy S22

The raft of accessories available for the Galaxy S lineup has been linked to its popularity across markets. The UK retailer’s listing further increases the tempo of expectation for the release of the Galaxy S22 lineup.

Motorola recently announced the world’s first phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but it was not alone. Alongside the Motorola Edge X30, the Lenovo-owned brand also came up with the lower-end Motorola Edge S30. Powered by the Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform, it is one of the most powerful and affordable flagship killers out there. But is it able to compete with a complete flagship killer like the OnePlus Nord 2 5G which is currently one of the best-selling devices in its price range? This comparison between the specifications of Motorola Edge S30 and OnePlus Nord 2 5G will let you find out.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES 5G, dual SIM 5G, dual SIM, water-repellent

Design

The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is a more attractive device when it comes to aesthetics. It is more compact, thinner, and lighter than Motorola Edge S30, thanks to the presence of a compact display and a smaller battery. Further, it is built with better materials: it has a glass back protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 (just like the display) and a plastic frame, while the Motorola Edge S30 is entirely built of plastic. But the Motorola Edge S30 has a water-repellent coating, so it offers some kind of protection against water. OnePlus Nord 2 5G and Motorola Edge S30 have a punch-hole display with holes placed on the upper left side and centrally, respectively.

Display

For most of the users, the display of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is actually better. Unlike the Motorola Edge S30, it has an AMOLED panel. It is a smaller screen but the image quality is higher, not only thanks to the OLED panel but also because of the HDR10+ certification. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 90 Hz refresh rate, and it is paired with stereo speakers. The Motorola Edge S30 has an LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and the HDR10 certification: it is inferior, but if you are a gamer, then you should opt for it because it offers a higher 144 Hz refresh rate and a wider diagonal with 6.8 inches.

Specs & Software

The hardware department is the killer feature of the Motorola Edge S30: despite its incredibly affordable price, it is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform that is the best Qualcomm’s chipset after the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. You can get the same memory configuration with the OnePlus Nord 2 5G but with an inferior MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. It is still a high-end processor, but it is not even close to the performance provided by the amazing Snapdragon 888+. Both the phones run Android 11 out of the box.

Camera

Do not get fooled by the Megapixels: even though the Motorola Edge S30 has a 108 MP main camera, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G wins the camera comparison because it offers a better main sensor. We are talking about the Sony IMX766 with a 50 MP resolution and OIS (the Edge S30 does not even support OIS). The Motorola Edge S30 has a better 13 MP ultrawide camera, while the OnePlus Nord 2 5G wins again when it comes to the selfie camera thanks to a 32 MP front snapper.

Battery

The Motorola Edge S30 has a bigger battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, but its display consumes more energy (because it is an LCD panel with a higher refresh rate), so it does not always guarantee a longer battery life. Further, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G charges quicker thanks to 65W fast charging (the Edge S30 has just 33W).

Price

The starting price of the Motorola Edge S30 in China roughly translates into €280/$315 (still not available in Europe), while the OnePlus Nord 2 5G starts from €399/$450 globally (prices vary depending on the region). Overall, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is a more complete and valid device for the average user due to its AMOLED display, better cameras, faster charging. But the Motorola Edge S30 is superior for gamers and power users thanks to its better hardware, big battery, and wider 144 Hz display.

Upcoming OxygenOS 12 update will restore access to auxiliary cameras for GCam: Report

The popular smartphone brand OnePlus recently started rolling out its version of Android 12, which is a unification of the OxygenOS and OPPO’s Color OS, called the OxygenOS 12, to its flagship devices. Unfortunately, despite being called stable, the software was plagued with bugs. Hence, the brand had to halt the rollout

OnePlus 9 Pro

But the problems with the OS weren’t only limited to bugs. As we previously reported, modded apps like Google Camera ports were being blocked from using the phone’s auxiliary cameras, i.e. the ultrawide and the telephoto camera. This is a deal-breaker for many people since GCam (modded) is known to considerably improve picture quality compared to the stock camera app on a lot of phones.

This issue has been present in OPPO’s ColorOS for a while now, leading people to believe that OnePlus devices will no longer be able to use modded camera apps. However, a new report has surfaced that reassures OnePlus users otherwise.

According to an XDA Developer‘s report, on Friday (December 17th, 2021), OnePlus took to its community forums to announce that they have heard the feedback regarding the bugs and issues faced by its users in the recently rolled out OxygenOS 12 update and are working hard to fix them and release a patch soon. OnePlus additionally pointed out that the upcoming update will also fix the “temporary lack of access to the Ultra HD 48M / AUX camera on GCam.”

Since then, the OxygenOS 12 has been re-released, but the inaccessible auxiliary camera issue while using the GCam port still remains. However, since the company has specifically acknowledged the issue, we can expect a future update to arrive with the promised fixes.

Infinix gearing up to launch sub-20,000 INR 5G Phone in India in January

Infinix is gearing up to launch its first 5G smartphone in the Indian market. The company will be releasing a new 5G enabled handset in January 2022, as per a senior official.

Infinix Note 11 Featured A

In an interview with India Today, Anish Kapoor, CEO of Infinix India, confirmed that its first 5G smartphone will be making its way to India, sometime in January. He further added that the Hong Kong based smartphone maker will also be launching a new 55 inch TV, which is set to be released in the first half of next year as well. In other words, apart from entering the 5G handset market, the brand is even expanding its presence outside of smartphones as well.

Notably, this expansion even includes its recent InBook X1 notebook offering, marking its entry into the laptop market in India. Kapoor stated that “We are launching the first 5G phone in India by the end of January. There are customers who are looking to buy a 5G phone when the technology hasn’t rolled out. We are looking to build a portfolio where customers can either get a 4G phone with top notch specs or can opt for 5G. The cost of the latter is, of course, higher. Once the rollout happens, 5G devices will be more affordable.”

He further added that “There are a lot of factors involved in deciding the price of a phone. It’s not just the component pricing, the dollar has appreciated by 8 percent in the last few months and that affects the overall pricing. Even then, we are aiming not to cross that Rs 20,000 price point.” So, we can expect a smartphone under the 270 US Dollar price point to be unveiled soon, which also means that its a mid range handset.
