We have been seeing plenty of rumors about the LG Nexus 5 (2015) model in the past couple of weeks. Recently we got our first glimpse at the model, thanks to a leaked photo. And looks like that’s going to be the final design as the online retailer OPPOMART has already listed cases for the device.

The listing clearly states that the Armour Protective Silicon Skin Case is for the LG Nexus 5 (2015) model. As you can see in the images, the back features the same round camera and fingerprint ID like we saw in the earlier leak. There’s even the same protruding dual LED flash and the Laser Focus sensor on the left.
This LG Nexus 5 (2015) is supposed to be the smaller variant with a 5.2-inch display, while the larger version will reportedly be built by Huawei. The LG version is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset. We also got a glimpse of the Huawei device a couple of days back, you can check it out from here.

There is nothing fancy about the presentation as the device comes in a plain box, which is typical to cheap Chinese phones. The contents include a power plug, USB cable, a pair of headphones, a screen protector, instruction manuals and a case to protect your smartphone.
Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro Review: DISPLAY AND DESIGN
The device comes in a compact footprint as it spots a 5” 720p panel, which is actually pretty good. It is bright enough, it has pretty accurate colour reproduction and good viewing angles.
The top side is where the 8MP selfie snapper along with the earpiece and the proximity sensor are located. On the bottom there are 3 capacitive keys, which are not backlit.
Doogee advertised the Valencia Y100 Pro as an all-metal phone, but it is clearly made of brushed plastic. Nevertheless, it does not feel very cheap and it is very comfortable to hold the device due to rounded corners.
On the back there is a 13MP snapper along with LED flash and on the bottom you can find a loudspeaker.
On the right you can find pretty clicky power on/off switch and a volume rocker.
On the top side there is headset jack and the micro USB port, and on the bottom there is just a mic.

The back cover is removable but it is very hard to do that. Literally, there is no cutout or any gap to open it up with your nail or any tool. Once you manage to do that, you have an access to the 2200Ah battery, two SIM card slots and the microSD card slot.
Overall, the device doesn’t sport premium materials like metal but it feels well built, it is comfortable to hold in the hand. However, I don’t have a lightweight scale but this phone definitely feels heavier than 122g Doogee declares.
Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro Review: USER INTERFACE
Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro runs a Android 5.1 with the light skin on top of it out of the box. It is pretty much stock Android experience with just a few added features. For example, you have plenty of gesture and motions controls and they work pretty good. Well, I’ve never been a fan of motion controls but some of the on-screen gestures are a must. For example, tap to screen feature is something that we get used to very quickly.
However, I found gesture controls unlock the phone accidentally in my pocket. It has become so annoying after the phone started calling random people, so I had to turn it off.
On the other hand, I just love how the UI works. There is no lag or stutter no matter if you have lots of apps running in the background. Overall, you will get a positive UI experience out of this phone.
Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro Review:PERFORMANCE
Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro has a 64-bit MTK6735 chip, Mali-720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Rest assured that the device will handle any daily tasks but if you try something like 3D gaming you may see a hiccup or a skipped frame there and there.
A good news is that the phone doesn’t heat up to uncomfortable levels.

Multimedia consumption is a positive experience since the device has a decent screen and surprisingly good loudspeaker for a budget phone.
However, the sound quality via headphones is far from the best but it is still acceptable.
Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro Review: CAMERA AND IMAGE QUALITY
The phone has a stock Mediatek camera app with a few settings and shooting modes to play with.

The 13MP shooter of this device is said to have a Sony sensor. However, I wasn’t impressed by the camera. The images looked okay on the phone’s screen but once you look at them on the computer… Well, the images lack in details, there is a lot of noise and the dynamic range is completely off but most importantly most of the images just look blurry meaning that the camera can’t focus properly.
What I’ve noticed is that the camera sensor is making some strange noises when it in operation mode and it leads me to believe that I may have a faulty review unit. Nevertheless, this is my experience after using a device for more than a week.
The 720p video quality is not great either. It lacks in details, auto-exposure is bad, contrast levels are off, the focus seems to be wobbling and making the whole footage look shaky (Please see the video review to see the 720p video sample).
I have no complaints in the connectivity department. The call quality is far from the best but it’s ok. Other connectivity options work fine and even GPS lock speeds are fast but the accuracy is not on par with the Snapdragon chips.
Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro Review: BATTERY LIFE
The 2200mAh battery does not impress neither on paper nor in reality. You may get up to 3.5 hours of screen-on time on a light use. However, the heavy use will let you enjoy just over 2 hours of screen on time.

So here it is, the Doogee Valencia Y100 Pro. It has a great design and build quality, and it is comfortable to hold it in your hand.
The screen quality is pretty good, the UI is working fine with just a few minor shortcomings like accidental pocket touches that turn on some of the on-screen gestures.
The performance is not great but you can still enjoy gaming… of course, not on the highest level as the graphics don’t look stunning.
However, the camera performance is a huge let down. I mean, you cannot expect a lot from a budget phone but it can be much better. Again, I may have a faulty unit since the sensor is making some strange noises while in operation mode, but that’s the only review unit I have.
Another let down is a battery. Well, it will get you through the day if you are a very light user but it will disappoint you if you are using your phone as the main multimedia device.
All in all, Doogee managed to make a good looking phone with great UI performance and a decent display. However, all of these advantages come at the expense of the poor camera and and below average battery performance.

Huawei just released the brand new Honor 7i smartphone. It comes with a unique flip-up camera which can rotate up to 180 degrees. The good news is that the camera can take a number of positions which opens up a lot of new camera angle possibilities. Well, many of you may have already thought of ways to use this innovative 13MP camera module, but to give you some inspiration, Huawei shows us how exactly can we use this camera for taking creative pictures.
In the latest promo video, we can see that the Honor 7i camera can take a lot of creative shots in different camera angles, thanks to its special rotating design. With f/2.0 aperture and SLR grade ISP, you can expect to take great pictures with the device. The company has even included a bunch of software features such as beautification mode, new algorithms to intelligently fill light in low lighting conditions and a even a number of camera filters.
Huawei released the unique Honor 7i smartphone with a flip-up camera module earlier today. The phone is particularly targeted at the young crowd with powerful camera features. It comes with a 5.2-inch FHD display and Snapdragon 616 underneath with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and a 3100mAh battery. The camera at the back is of 13MP with f/2.0 large aperture and SLR grade ISP. So, you can expect to take beautiful pictures even in low light.
Now, we take a look at the overall design of the device, which is somewhat similar to Honor 7. But, that’s actually a good thing as the Honor 7i looks extremely well built and premium despite its affordable 1599 Yuan price tag. If not for the flip-up camera, from the front, the Honor 7i and the Honor 7 look identical. The body is quite thin at 7.8mm, even thinner than Honor 7’s 8.5mm profile. It weighs just about 160 grams.
The camera can be flipped up to act as the front facing shooter. As you can see, even the dual LED flash comes on top.
The unique grip pattern continues from the back to the front.
Down below, you can see the fingerprint sensor. Its a side mounted sensor instead of a traditional rear placed one that we saw on the Honor 7. The fingerprint recognition speed is said to be just 0.5 seconds.
As you can see below, the pattern is particularly visible on the Champagne Gold version.
Although you can see two speaker grills at the bottom, they are not dual speakers.
Like expected, Huawei announced the brand new Honor 7i smartphone in an event today in China. The company had been teasing this unique device for the past couple of weeks, and now, its finally official. Like we saw in the TENAA images, the Honor 7i will indeed feature a flip-up camera module, which means, similar to the OPPO N1, the rear camera unit itself will be the front facing camera. However, instead of a rotating module, the Honor 7i’s camera unit will flip-up manually to take front facing shots.
This is definitely the best feature of the device. The flip-up camera can be adjusted to almost any angle within 180 degrees. This makes the phone ideal for taking low-angle shots. You can practically experiment with different angles to get the perfect shot that you need. With a powerful sensor at the back, you can take great pictures with the new Honor 7i.
The rear camera module is a 13MP sensor with a large f/2.0 aperture. The phone supports 4As, namely Auto Exposure, Auto White Balance, Automatic Face Recognition and Auto Smile Shutter. Huawei claims that the camera comes with SLR grade ISP translating into better low light performance, balance and less noise.The phone features multi-frame algorithm that intelligently fills light when under low lighting conditions.
It looks like the company has put in a lot of efforts in the Honor 7i’s camera module. Moreover, Huawei claims that you don’t have to worry about the flip-up camera, as its extremely sturdy and reliable. It is said that even if you use flip-up the camera module 132 times a day, it will still last for up to 2 years.
Another interesting feature of the Honor 7i is the side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Instead of a rear placed one like the Honor 7, this new device will feature the sensor on the side. This is an interesting placement not usually seen on smartphones, so we will have to see if this is more convenient than Home button integrated and rear placed sensors.
Apart from these two innovative features, the Honor 7i is pretty much a mid-range flagship. The phone comes with a 5.2-inch FHD LCD Negative display with a screen to body ratio of 79.8%. Under the hood, there’s the new Snapdragon 616 chipset with eight cores, reportedly much stable and low power consuming than its previous generation. There will be 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM on board along with 32GB of internal storage. As you can see, apart from the rotating camera & chipset, the specs are pretty much similar to the Honor 7 flagship. You further get 3100mAh battery, dual card dual standby and 4G LTE network connectivity.
Huawei has priced the Honor 7i quite aggressively. The phone will be available for pre-order later today for a starting price tag of 1599 Yuan (China Mobile version). The China Telecom version will cost you 1699 Yuan while the China Unicom version will cost you 1899 Yuan.
