We have confirmed a lot things about MX4. One of which is that there will only be a MX4 standard edition at the annoucement conference at September 2nd.
Here is a list of all the thing leaked so far:
5.4-inch display ( resolution not confirmed yet)
MT6595 CPU
Not much difference in the font compared to MX3, the circular Home button is still there.
Bezels are thinner.
The material of the back is changed.
It’s running Flyme OS 4.0
What should be noted is that its main camera is gonna be 20.7 megapixels (the highest so far in China).
This afternoon a Weibo user posted some info of a sample picture taken by the font-facing camera of MX4, which says the resolution is 1088×1920 (around 2 megapixels) with aperture f/2.0. It also comes with a beauty mode. Flyme 4.0 is likely gonna add more beauty options.
Besides that, the model number of MX4 is confirmed to be K95V2 which is the same as what the leak said.
Earlier today Li nan, the vice CEO of Meizu, confirmed on Weibo that there will only be one phone announced on September, 2nd. He also denied the existence of a Meizu tablet during the Q&A with his followers. He also said their developers are still working on the fingerprint recognition function on the MX4 Pro, so we won’t see the Pro edition at the announcement conference.
So without MX4 Pro, then the only phone that’ll be released that day certainly is MX4, the so called standard edition. There are a lot of rumors going on right now. To name a few: the display will be 2K, namely a resolution of 2560 x 1536. and a MTK octa-core CPU (MT6595) on the MX4 standard edition. MX Pro is said run on a Samsung Exynos octa-core CPU. But is the 2K display available for all regular editions? Will all these be true? Guess we’ll have to wait and see what the announcement conference brings us.
Xiaomi is now a well established brand name in the smartphone market in India. The flash sale of some of the products of Xiaomi was a big hit in India. “Apple of China” has identified Indian market as a potential place to grow its business. The company is now ready with a new strategy to set up an R&D centre in India. The research and development centre will be established in Bangalore. This centre will have a main focus on the local users and designing and customizing the devices according to them.
Hugo Barra, the Vice President of this China based company has unveiled this plan of the Xiaomi. According to Barra, the company will employ the team of best engineers, designers and managers at the R&D and design centre, Bangalore. He also accepted and agreed to the fact Xiaomi had some issues and concerns in relation to the production of smartphones for Indian market because antenna calibrations and hardware are quite distinctive for the Indian market. So the stocks of other countries like Taiwan or China might not be redirected to India. Indian market is a potential and heterogeneous market with different requirements from network perspective. But now Xiaomi has overcome all the problems and the scenario has changed. The brand is well accepted in Indian market because of its friendly price tags and premium features.
Xiaomi is ready to grab the major share of Indian market with such moves.

The closer we’re getting to the announcement conference, the more rumours about MX4 are out there. But it’s confirmed that there will only be MX4 at the announcement, no MX Pro. What about the China Telecom edition? And any other editions?
Zhang Heng, the senior tech manager of Meizu was doing a Q&A on Weibo regarding the announcement conference earlier today. He disclosed a lot of information regarding MX4. He also said himself that he’s gonna resign due to all those misunderstandings caused by his failure to deliver the authentic information regarding the announcement.
Below is a list of all the information we got from Zhang Heng:
Only MX4 (the standard edition) will be released on September 2nd, along with Flyme 4.0.
Both China Mobile edition and China Unicom edition will be available, but there won’t be a Telecom edition this time. We also won’t see it coming in the nearest future.
J.Wong won’t be there.
No mini edition available for MX4, but there will be a pro edition. Also there will be a slightly difference in the appearances of the two. Pro edition won’t be available this year due to the slowness of its R&D. There won’t be any news related to Ubuntu.
There will be two announcement conferences this year.
Flyme 4.0 will be available for MX2 and MX3, the 4th quarter of this year, but not the first generation.
Last night, Li Nan, the vice CEO of Meizu confirmed on Weibo that only the MX4 will be released at the annoucement on September 2nd, which means we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for MX Pro.
He also shared some more info about MX4 today on Weibo at noon.
Li Nan said:”The announcement of MX4 is gonna be huge.” A major overhaul we are talking about here. And MX4 Pro is gonna be a even larger step ahead, so its price is also gonna be on the high end. Don’t be surprised to see a price tag like over 3000RMB ($492).
He also implied that compared to MX3, MX4 is one further step ahead in very aspect, giving users a more pleasant experience overall, but there won’t be a big change with its price.
Let’s wait and see what the announcement brings us.

From the photo leaked yesterday, the Huawei Mate 7 looks like it sports a very narrow frame, probably narrower than the MX4’s. This could probably be the thinnest cellphone frame in the Chinese industry right now. However, a new phone was leaked this morning and it looks like the Mate 7’s frame is not that narrow. As the photo shows, the Mate 7’s screen is surrounded by a round black ring. Outside of that is the frame. So, it turns out that this phone’s frame is not as narrow as we thought. It looks like Huawei has used a pretty good eye trick.
Unfortunately, yesterday, it was revealed that the high-end edition of the Mate 7 will still use a display screen with 1080p, not 2K. However, its RAM and ROM were increased to 3GB and 32GB respectively.
The Doogee DG900 is one of Doogee’s newest releases. Among its features is its rear touch panel which can be used to take photos and a wake gesture function and a 16MP Sony camera. It uses Gorilla Glass 3 glass on both side of the body.
Lenovo’s new high-end phone, the Vibe X2, sports a very trendy design with an excellent four-colored mid-frame.
According to Lenovo, the phone’s mid-frame is composed with gold, yellow, orange, and black (just like the screen). However, Weibo user @老潘PLF leaked a photo where the gold panel looks more like white (it could because of the LED light).
The Vibe X2 sports a nice metal body. According to previous reports, one version (X2-CU) will use the MT6595M octa-core chipset (2.0 GHz A17 + 1.5GHz A7), while another (X2-TO) will use a 2.2GHz dual-core chipset (probably from Intel). Other than their processors, both phones will have the same specs. They will sport a 5-inch 1080p IPS screen, have 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory space, and a 5mp/13mp dual-camera. It will powered by a 2250mAh battery and its OS is the Android 4.4.2.

Xiaomi’s officials have also talked about the concern of the company to open the exclusive service centres in India. So, here it goes.

Mozilla, known for the Firefox browser, entered the Indian smartphone market with its ‘super’ low cost smartphone, Cloud FX, priced at a mere $33 ( INR 1999). The company partnered with Indian company Intex, for the manufacture of these handsets which are being sold online at India’s largest e-marketplace, Snapdeal.
The phone runs on Mozilla’s Firefox operating system and users can download games and other content from its own application store, as told Jane Hsu, Mozilla’s Taipei-based Director of product marketing. This would also warm the market up towards the mobile version of their web browser, Firefox.
The Cloud FX has a 3.5-inch with a 320×480-pixel capacitive HVGA display. It is powered by a 1 GHz Spreadtrum processor and sports a 2-megapixel camera. It has a 1250 mAh battery which gives it 4 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time. It runs the web apps through HTML5 which consumes lesser memory. The phone comes preloaded with Facebook and Twitter. However, WhatsApp can be obtained through a third-party app source. Experts have considered this to be a case of ‘App-gap’ which translates as the lack of applications on cheaper smartphones as compared to those based on Android systems.
Success of the phone would be tug of war between the low price and low end features. However, Mozilla has aimed to target the first-time smartphone buyers who are intimidated by high costs and advanced features of other smartphones. The Cloud FX aims to be a low cost source of internet in everyone’s pocket, especially those who do not have access to computers.
Let us see if Mozilla partners with some Chinese mobile manufacturer to launch its phones in China. But till now there has been no news of Mozilla OS smartphones coming to China.
