Unistellar’s AR Binoculars have Guided Navigation, Target-Lock Mode and a Dedicated Smartphone App

Unistellar, the company that has made loads of smart telescopes, is venturing into a new sector: augmented reality binoculars. Their upcoming Envision binoculars aim to revolutionize how we experience the world around us.

The binoculars don’t necessarily require the smartphone app for full functionality

The Envision boasts a groundbreaking feature – augmented reality (AR) overlays. With a simple button press, you can access a wealth of contextual information layered directly onto your view. This personalized data, incorporating a comprehensive map database, caters to various needs. Explore your surroundings with ease in Smart Scouting mode, identifying landmarks and points of interest. For astronomers, Guided Navigation transforms the night sky into a guided tour, revealing wonders and providing informative overlays. Wildlife enthusiasts will love the Shareable Target-Lock mode, which allows you to locate an animal, share its location with others, and ensure everyone stays focused on the subject. Even traditionalists are catered to, with the Envision seamlessly switching to a classic, high-quality optical view.

AR Binoculars

To unlock the full potential of the AR features, the Envision connects to your smartphone via a dedicated app. However, Unistellar assures users that even without the AR functionality, the Envision delivers exceptional optics, making them perfect for traditional use as well.

Unistellar positions the Envision as a game-changer, combining cutting-edge AR technology with premium optics at an attractive price point. While technical details are still under wraps, the upcoming crowdfunding campaign promises to reveal more.

It’s important to remember that crowdfunding campaigns involve inherent risks. However, Unistellar inspires confidence with a proven track record. Their successful delivery of the eVscope smart telescope and positive reviews of previous products solidify the promise of the Envision campaign.

Apple’s New Beats Pill Bluetooth Speaker Passes FCC Certification, Launch Imminent

Apple‘s revival of the Beats Pill seems imminent, with the speaker recently passing FCC certification in the United States. The FCC filing reveals the model number (A3211) and confirms 2.402-2.48GHz Bluetooth transmission. This suggests a potential launch date sometime in June.

Apple has been using celebrities to subtly market its upcoming speaker

Apple has been amping up excitement for the new Pill with a celebrity marketing push. Basketball legend LeBron James, F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, soccer star Lionel Messi, and social media icon Kim Kardashian have all been spotted carrying the speaker in recent photos.

While details about the speaker’s specifications remain under wraps, leaks from the iOS 17.5 code suggest it will retain the classic “pill” design and introduce a new lanyard, a feature absent on previous models.

This upcoming release marks a return for the Beats Pill series. The original pill-shaped speaker launched in 2012, before Apple acquired Beats Electronics. Apple further expanded the line with the Pill+ in 2015, featuring a Lightning charging interface. The discontinuation of the Pill+ in early 2022 paved the way for this new iteration. In line with Apple’s recent design trends, the new Pill is expected to adopt a USB-C charging port. Beyond that, we can expect advancements in Bluetooth technology and other functionalities compared to the nearly nine-year-old Pill+.

Redmi 13 4G design, price, and key details leaked

The specs of the Redmi 13 4G were leaked nearly 1.5 months ago. Now, a new leak by 91Mobiles has revealed the official renders, pricing, and more of the device. All of this suggests that the smartphone will be launched soon. The previous generation Redmi 12 made a splash with record sales. Especially selling well in India, the Redmi 12 is now making way for the Redmi 13.

Redmi 13 Design & Price

The Redmi 13 shares a similar design language with the Redmi 12, and in fact, the two devices are expected to be largely identical. On the processor side, the Redmi 13 is expected to be powered by the Helio G88, codenamed MT6768. However, MediaTek’s newly launched Helio G91 for 2024 could also be used in the Redmi 13. Regardless of whether it’s the Helio G91 or Helio G88, both chips are nearly identical and offer no significant improvements. Therefore, the Redmi 13 is expected to perform very similarly to the Redmi 12.

In addition to the processor, the Redmi 13 also offers little improvement over the Redmi 12 in terms of display, camera, and fast charging. However, we have learned that the smartphone will come with a new 108MP camera sensor compared to the 50MP camera on the Redmi 12. This camera sensor is expected to take good photos in well-lit environments, but you shouldn’t expect much from night photos.

The Redmi 13 is rumored to come in two variants: 6GB RAM / 128GB storage and 8GB RAM / 256GB storage. The base variant is expected to be priced at €199, while the top-of-the-line Redmi 13 model is said to have a price tag of €229. We don’t have any other information at this time.

Gamers and PC enthusiasts looking to push their systems to the limit will be excited about the new co-branded memory from ADATA and Gigabyte: the Obsidian and White Obsidian DDR5. These memory modules boast a custom-designed PCB built for high performance overclocking. The design allows for higher voltages, improved signal transmission, and the ability to manually adjust voltage for even more control.

The supported motherboard list is quite extensive

For those using a compatible GIGABYTE Z790 or B760 AORUS ELITE series motherboard, a one-click overclocking option is available exclusively for Obsidian and White Obsidian memory. This simplifies the process, allowing users to achieve improved memory performance through the AORUS x XPG EZ-OC GIGABYTE Ultra Mode within the BIOS settings.

The supported motherboard list is extensive, including various Z790 and B760 AORUS models, ensuring wide compatibility.

Beyond overclocking prowess, Obsidian and White Obsidian memory also caters to aesthetics. With support for Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO dual-platform certification, users can enjoy one-click overclocking with pre-set profiles. Additionally, the memory pairs with Gigabyte Smart Concierge (GCC) for customizable RGB lighting effects. This allows for synchronization with other Gigabyte components like the motherboard and graphics card, creating a cohesive and visually stunning lighting setup for your entire PC.

Obsidian and White Obsidian DDR5 memory comes in various capacities and speeds, with prices starting at 449 yuan for a single 16GB 6000MHz module. The price scales with capacity and speed, reaching 1379 yuan for a 48GB 6400MHz kit.
