Realme started offering four major Android updates to its devices last year, beginning with the Realme GT 7. Some more devices later arrived with this updated software policy, but the overall list is still too short, as Realme hasn’t expanded the new policy beyond the premium segment.

If your Realme device is on the list, you’re in luck. But millions of Realme users are getting up to three Android OS updates, while brands like Samsung offer up to six on many of their budget phones, and their high-end phones get seven OS updates.

The four Android OS update policy is very welcoming from Realme, but it really shouldn’t be limited to premium phones. Even premium mid-range phones, such as the Realme 16 Pro+, which costs up to INR 45,000, only guarantee up to three Android OS updates.

Realme really needs to up its software update policy, as its competitors are doing it aggressively. Take Motorola, for example: the brand isn’t well-reputed for software updates, but it has been greatly improving rollout speed for the last few months. Not just that, the brand now promises up to five major OS updates for many of its mid-range phones, and recently matched Google and Samsung by promising seven years of Android OS support for the Motorola Signature smartphone.

Its Chinese rivals, including Oppo and Xiaomi, are also ahead with up to five major Android OS updates. Additionally, they promise longer updates to newer mid-range phones. So, I guess Realme wouldn’t want its customers to switch to other brands just for this reason, and therefore, we’ll likely see an improved software update policy anytime soon, at least for mid-range phones.

The OnePlus 13 (review) is one of the best flagship smartphones of 2024, featuring a powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a high-quality camera setup, and a battery that lasts an entire day. However, in 2026, we now have plenty of options with better specs at a similar price.

We’ve curated a list of five flagship smartphones that give the OnePlus 13 a serious run for its money.

1. OnePlus 15

That’s obvious, but the OnePlus 15 is your best bet if you want to stick to OnePlus. By adding just Rs. 3000 (about $40) on top of the OnePlus 13, you’re getting a much better value.

The OnePlus 15 provides enhanced protection on both sides, an upgraded IP rating, and a more advanced display with a higher refresh rate and increased brightness level. It comes with a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite, promising up to a 20% CPU performance uplift, 23% improved GPU performance, and a 16% boost in the overall power efficiency.

The camera setup now has Sony IMX906 as the main sensor, and features a 3.5x optical zoom (up from 3x). The OnePlus 15 also offers 21% higher battery capacity and faster charging over a USB-C cable.

2. Vivo X300

If camera is your primary concern, the Vivo X300 (review) is your best shot from the list. It features a solid triple camera setup, comprising a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor.

The main sensor captures adequate details with superior dynamic range and highlight control. Daylight shots are excellent, but the low-light shots are far superior to those of the OnePlus 13. The selfie camera also performs better in terms of sharpness, color accuracy, and low-light performance.

The Vivo phone also excels in performance, thanks to a more powerful Dimensity 9500 chipset. The battery capacity stands at 6,040mAh, which is slightly higher than the OnePlus 13, but the latter offers slightly faster charging.

3. Realme GT 8 Pro

It’s another solid alternative to the OnePlus 13, featuring a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. The screen sizes are nearly equal, but the Realme phone offers a higher refresh rate (144Hz vs. 120Hz) and a significantly higher peak brightness level (7000nits vs. 4500nits).

The rear camera setup on the GT 8 Pro has a 50MP main sensor, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide unit. For selfies, it has a 32MP snapper.

The standout feature is the GT 8 Pro’s 200MP periscope telephoto camera, which captures excellent details with well-controlled noise, better dynamic range, and color accuracy. The OnePus 13, however, may have an edge in low-light and portrait photography.

The Realme phone also excels in battery capacity (7,000mAh vs. 6,000mAh) and charging speed (120W vs. 100W). 

4. iQOO 15

iQOO phones prioritize performance over anything else. So, if that’s top of your list, the iQOO 15 (review) is a compelling choice. It features a top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship chipset, paired with a dedicated in-house Q3 gaming chip and an oversized vapor chamber cooling system, which offers sustained gaming performance in extended gaming sessions with higher FPS and improved battery efficiency.

The iQOO 13 has an excellent AMOLED screen, featuring a higher refresh rate and peak brightness. The camera specs are almost similar: a 50MP primary shooter, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide shooter. And a 32MP selfie camera in a hole-punch style.

The iQOO phone gets a bigger 7,000mAh battery. The wired charging is the same at 100W, but the wireless charging is slightly faster on the OnePlus 13.

5. Oppo Find X9

The Oppo Find X9 (review) is also a good alternative to the OnePlus 13 for several reasons. One of these is the Dimensity 9500 chipset, which is faster than the Snapdragon 8 Elite found in the OnePlus 13.

The Find X9 also features three 50MP shooters on the back, and interestingly, all three sensors are the same. This essentially translates to similar camera performance on both phones, but OnePlus’s optimizations offer better low-light shots, while Oppo’s implementation may result in slightly better colors, although the difference is not significant in any case. Both phones have the same 32MP selfie snapper.

The Oppo smartphone also offers a higher battery capacity. As for the charging speed, the OnePlus 13 supports a slightly higher speed over a wired connection, but the wireless and reverse wireless charging speeds are the same. Software support is another key advantage for the Find X8, as it will receive OS updates until Android 21, while the OnePlus 13 will reach its end of OS support on Android 19.

That said, the OnePlus 13 remains a solid flagship phone in 2026, but there are excellent alternatives from other brands available in a similar price bracket. Which one is the strongest choice in your opinion among the five phones we’ve listed above?

Telephoto Power That Goes Further

Following the downgrade of its camera system, the OnePlus 15 and Realme GT 8 Pro share a similarly sized main camera. Both use a different imaging system, like DetailMax on the OnePlus and Ricoh GR lenses on the Realme. However, the telephoto shooter is much larger than on the GT 8 Pro. The 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 periscope telephoto shooter has the same sensor size as the main sensor (1/1.56-inch) with 3x optical zoom and up to 12x lossless zoom. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 15 has a longer 3.5x optical zoom on its 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto shooter, but this is a smaller sensor. Apart from the new aesthetics, this model is practically the same as the regular GT 8 Pro model.

Pricing and Availability

The Realme GT 8 Pro has just been announced in India in two color options, namely Diary White and Urban Blue. The base 12GB + 256GB model is listed for Rs 72,999, while the 16GB + 512GB variant carries a Rs 78,999 price tag. Pre-bookings are live now, with first sales kicking off on 25th November 2025. As a part of the introductory launch offer, Realme is offering a Rs 5,000 bank discount. Meanwhile, the Realme GT 8 Pro Dream Edition was announced for Rs 79,999.

Realme has confirmed that its latest flagship, the GT 8 Pro, will launch in India on November 20 at 12 PM local time. The phone has already been available in China since October 21. According to Dealabs leaker billbil_kun, the GT 8 Pro will arrive in the Eurozone and the UK on November 24, slightly later than the Indian release.

In Europe, the phone will come in three color options: Unary White, Urban Blue, and a special Aston Martin Racing Green edition. The green version will be exclusive to the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. The same configuration in blue or white will cost €1,199 or £1,099, while the limited Aston Martin model will be priced at €1,299. The base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model will sell for €1,099 or £999.

Prices are about €100 higher than last year’s Realme GT 7 Pro, which launched at €999 for the 12GB/256GB version. The increase is linked to several upgrades, including a larger 7000 mAh battery, faster charging, and higher RAM options.

The Realme GT 8 Pro features a 6.79-inch AMOLED display that can reach up to 7000 nits peak brightness. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and supports 120W SuperVOOC fast charging. Realme has just announced the GT8 Pro in China, and its headline feature is a camera module you can physically swap out.

Realme is using what it calls a mechanical assembly design for this. The interchangeable camera plate is secured by two Torx screws on the side of the housing. Remove them, lift the module, and you’re free to swap in a different look in a few seconds.

The OEM offers three main camera designs: square, circle, and a robot-style. But if you’re the type who likes to mod your gadgets, Realme is opening the door for DIY designs. 

The company has published the 3MF model file for the camera housing, so you can design and print your own custom module instead of relying on Realme’s official options.

Design isn’t the only thing that’s new here. The GT8 Pro is also debuting Realme’s first collaboration with Ricoh GR.

Realme GT 8 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery

To recall, the Realme GT 7 Pro from last year came with a 6,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. However, it lacked support for wireless charging.

In comparison, the Realme GT 8 Pro has a larger 7,000mAh battery inside. Apart from 120W wired charging, the device will also support 50W wireless charging. The handset also supports bypass charging.

Realme claims that the GT 8 Pro can go from 0 to 50 percent in just 15 minutes using the 120W charger. Despite packing a larger battery, the GT 8 Pro, which measures only 8.20mm, is slimmer than its previous generation, which measured 8.5mm.

As per recent reports, the Realme GT 8 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED panel that offers a 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The device will run on Realme UI 7-based Android 16.

The Realme GT 8 Pro will have a Ricoh-certified 1/1.56-inch 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support. It will be joined by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 200-megapixel camera, which may feature the Samsung HP5 sensor. The brand has also confirmed that the device is capable of shooting 4K 120fps videos with Dolby Vision support. On the other hand, the Realme GT 8 Pro’s rear camera setup will have a pair of 50-megapixel sensors for the primary and ultra-wide cameras, along with a 200-megapixel periscope camera, which seems to be backed by the Samsung HP5 sensor. The GT 8 Pro is confirmed to feature a swappable camera deco, but there’s no clarity on whether the GT 8 will also feature the same.

The publication speculates that the phone may launch on Nov. 11.

If the rumoured Realme GT 8 Pro launch date turns out to be true, Realme India may begin its official teasers later this month. Realme says the GT 8 Pro’s camera system is powered by Ricoh GR, the company’s well-known line of point-and-shoot digital cameras.

It’ll be interesting to see what this partnership actually delivers in practice. Realme claims the GT 8 Pro will offer an “unprecedented imaging experience,” featuring “groundbreaking innovations” in optics, color science, and image processing.

The phone will also include a custom camera interface designed to mimic the feel of a Ricoh GR. Realme is placing a special emphasis on street photography through this partnership, a genre long associated with Ricoh’s compact cameras.

But considering the Vivo X200 lineup arrived in India in December 2024, we can expect a similar launch timeline for the Vivo X300 series.

The base X300 is a compact flagship with a 6.31-inch display; however, the X300 Pro is a tall 6.78-inch full fledged premium phone. These models are getting an upgrade in terms of battery capacity, camera performance, display quality, and much more.

According to the leak, among the above-mentioned phones, three of them will have 50-megapixel main cameras, each using a 1/1.5-inch sensor, and one will feature a 50-megapixel camera with a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor.

For telephoto capabilities, two phones will have 50-megapixel cameras with 1/2.76-inch sensors, another 50-megapixel camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor, and one phone will feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor.

Interestingly, while all these telephoto lenses are said to be periscope types, only one of the devices appears to support telephoto macro photography. DCS did not mention the ultra-wide camera details of these phones.

The phone is expected to feature 120W wired charging, while there’s no clarity on wireless charging. On the software side, it will boot Android 16 with Realme UI 7 out of the box.

2. Xiaomi 17

Launch: October 2025 (expected)

Xiaomi 17 just launched in China as the first Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 phone, and it’s also confirmed to launch soon in India. In China, the company also launched the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, but there’s no certainty around their India launch.

The standard Xiaomi 17 has a 6.3-inch LTPO OLED display with a variable 1-120Hz refresh rate and 3500nits of peak brightness. It’s IP68-rated and features Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection.

The rear side features a triple camera setup similar to that of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14. There’s a 50MP OIS-enabled main shooter, a 50MP telephoto shooter with OIS and 2.6x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. It’s capable of recording up to 8K video, whereas the 50MP selfie camera can record up to 4K. The battery comes in at 7,000mAh (Si/C) with support for 100W wired, 50W wireless, and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.

3. Vivo V60e

Launch: October 7, 2025 (expected)

The Vivo V60e is expected to be released on October 7th. However, we already know pretty much everything about the device. According to a recent leak, the V60e will be the first phone to feature a 200MP camera in the segment. Additionally, there will be an 8MP (likely an ultrawide unit) on the rear side, as well as a 50MP selfie camera.

The smartphone reportedly brings a 120Hz AMOLED screen, Dimensity 7360 processor, and a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging support. It will also offer an IP68/P69 rating, IR blaster, NFC, and three major Android updates. An early Flipkart listing was also spotted recently, revealing that the Vivo V60e starts at INR 34,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The 8GB + 256GB variant will cost INR 36,999, and the top-end 12GB + 256GB will cost INR 38,999.

4. iQOO 15

Launch: October 2025 (expected)

The performance-packed iQOO 15 is expected to be unveiled in China next month. Later this year, it will be released globally. The brand has already confirmed some key specs of the phone, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powerful chipset, a 6.85” 144Hz QHD display, a Q3 gaming chip, and a periscope telephoto camera.

The iQOO 15 is confirmed to feature a color-changing back design and will ship with OriginOS 6 out of the box, not just in China, but worldwide. Overall, it will be a solid flagship phone with high-end hardware.

5. OnePlus 15

Launch: October 2025 (expected)

The OnePlus 15 is also set to make its debut in China next month and is expected to launch in the international market later this year. This one will also be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with high-end specs, including a 1.5K display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a massive 7,000mAh battery, supporting 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The smartphone is said to feature a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP OIS-enabled primary shooter, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and an ultrawide camera. Also, since the OnePlus and Hasselblad partnership has ended, the OnePlus 15 will likely introduce an in-house image engine. The phone will boot Android 16 OS, likely with different custom skins: OriginOS 6 in China and OxygenOS 16 for the rest of the world.

6. Oppo Find X9 series

Launch: October 16, 2025 (official)

This one will also be a flagship series, but unlike many others on the list, Oppo is opting for the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, which, by the way, performs neck-and-neck in benchmarks (see the benchmark data here). It will launch in China on October 16, with the global launch expected towards the end of the month.

Oppo has been teasing the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro lately. However, there could also be an Ultra model in the pipeline, which might be released later with a Snapdragon chip. According to a recent leak, the Find X8 will feature a 6.59” 120Hz 1.5K OLED screen, a Dimensity 9500 chip, and a 7,025mAh battery with support for 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. The triple rear camera setup may include a 50MP Sony LYT808 primary sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN5 ultra-wide unit, and a 50MP Sony LYT600 periscope lens. There may be an additional 2MP True Chroma sensor for better color accuracy. The front side features a 32MP selfie shooter.

The Find X8 Pro is expected to bring a larger 6.78-inch OLED screen with LTPO support, the same Dimensity 9500 chipset, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a bigger 7,500mAh battery with the same charging capabilities. It also features triple 50MP cameras, but with better sensors: a Sony LYT-828 primary sensor, a Samsung HP5 periscope camera, and a Samsung JN5 telephoto lens. The selfie camera is said to be a 50MP unit.

7. Vivo X300 series

Launch: October 13, 2025 (official)

Alongside a mid-range Vivo V60e, the brand is also preparing to unveil a high-end Vivo X300 series. It’s officially confirmed to launch in China on October 13, and might be released outside China before the end of the year.

The Vivo X300 series comprises the X300 and X300 Pro, both of which will feature the Dimensity 9500 chip at their core. Besides, the X300 will reportedly feature a 6.31” 120Hz LTPO panel, a 50MP selfie camera, and a triple camera setup on the back consisting of a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide unit, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The phone is said to offer a 6,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging support and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint 2.0.

As for the Pro model, it may offer a 6.78-inch OLED screen, a more powerful camera setup, and a bigger battery with support for wireless charging as well.

8. Redmi Note 15 series

Launch: October 2025 (expected)

Launched in August in China, the Redmi Note 15 mid-range series is expected to come to India in October. The series consists of three models: Redmi Note 15, Note 15 Pro, and Note 15 Pro+.

The Redmi Note 15’s key specs include a 6.77” 120Hz AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, a 50MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup, an 8MP selfie camera, and a 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro brings a 6.83” 120Hz AMOLED screen, a Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor, a 50MP + 8MP dual rear camera setup, a 20MP selfie camera, and a massive 7,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ offers a 6.83” 120Hz AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, triple rear cameras (50MP + 50MP + 8MP), a 32MP selfie camera, and a 7,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging.

9. Motorola Edge 60 Neo

Launch: October 2025 (expected)

The Edge 60 Neo was announced at IFA 2025 and is expected to be released in India in October. It’s powered by a 4nm Dimensity 7400 chipset, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

The Motorola phone features a 6.36” LTPO OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution, HDR10+, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and a 300nits of peak brightness. It features a triple camera setup on the back, including a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide unit, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It has a 32MP selfie camera.

As can be seen above, an Oppo smartphone with model number CPH2791 has been approved by India’s BIS authority. As per reports, this model number belongs to the standard Oppo Find X9 Pro’s global version.

At the same time, the BIS has also approved a Vivo phone with model number V2514. Reports have revealed that this model number is associated with the global version of the Vivo X300.

The third screengrab reveals that a Realme phone with the RMX5210 model number has been certified by the BIS. This device is believed to be the global edition of the Realme GT 8 Pro.

What to expect from these phones?

Speculations are rife that the Oppo Find X9 and Vivo X300 may debut in November in India. Their Pro editions, such as the Find X9 Pro and Vivo X300 Pro, are also expected to launch around the same time, but they have not received BIS approval yet. Both series will arrive with the Dimensity 9500 chipset onboard.

According to the teaser, the GT 8 Pro will feature a detachable camera module that users can swap or rearrange. Realme has presented three different shapes in its preview video: a round design, a square option, and an irregular “robot-inspired” version.

This fresh approach looks to move past the usual circular or rectangular camera cut-outs and introduces a hands-on element, letting users personalise the look of their device. Alongside this design innovation, the GT 8 Pro is expected to house a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, also described as the “Ultra Eye”. However, there is no information about the other camera sensors of the device.

As per other reports, the Realme GT 8 Pro will launch with a 2K 144Hz AMOLED screen co-developed with BOE, featuring Q10+ material for improved brightness and eye protection. According to Derrek, the Realme GT 8 Pro’s display resolution has been increased from 1.5K to 2K, the refresh rate increased from 120Hz to 144Hz, and peak brightness pushed from 6,000nits to 7,000nits. The design also shifts from a curved screen with small corners to a flat display with larger R-corners.

Eye comfort features have been strengthened with global full-brightness DC dimming enabled by default, a 1-nit eye-care mode, and circular polarisation protection. Colour accuracy has also been upgraded from software-level calibration to hardware-level chip calibration.

Derek explained that although a 2K screen demands more power, advances in battery energy density have allowed Realme to equip the GT 8 Pro with a 7,000mAh-class battery. He added that beyond resolution, Realme has enhanced multiple aspects like refresh rate, design, brightness, and eye protection, making the GT 8 Pro’s screen one of the best available in its price segment.

The other poster released by the brand confirms that the Realme GT 8 Pro will feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto. The company’s Marketing Communication Director, Aric Song, revealed that the camera will support 3x optical zoom and 12x lossless zoom.

According to the tipster, the Ouga Group will unveil ColorOS 16 in September, followed by the announcement of new phones running on this system in October. In October, Oppo will take the covers off the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, whereas OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 15 and Ace 6.

While the Find X9 lineup will feature the Dimensity 9500 SoC, the OnePlus 15 will have the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 onboard. The OnePlus Ace is also expected to feature a Snapdragon 8-series chip, but it is unclear whether it will use the existing Snapdragon 8 Elite or the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5.

This leak seemingly puts an end to claims that a third device named the Find X9 Plus will also be a part of the lineup. Also, this time there will be no OnePlus Ace 6 Pro launching alongside the Ace 6. It remains to be seen whether the company will launch the Ace 6 Pro in Q1 2026. Globally, the OnePlus Ace 6 may get rebranded as the OnePlus 15R.

The tipster further revealed that the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro will also debut in October in China. These devices are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC.

While it is not mentioned in this leak, the Redmi K90 series, iQOO 15, and flagship phones by ZTE/Nubia are also expected to debut in October.
