The Chuwi UBook X Windows tablet has been announced. The latest Chuwi tablet is powered by the Intel Core i5-10210Y processor and has a 12-inch display. Chuwi is offering the UBook X as a budget and a pretty good Windows tablet. It supports an optional keyboard and digital pen.

The Chuwi UBook X is equipped with the 10th-gen Intel Core i5-10210Y processor with four cores and 8 threads. The processor was first released in 2019 but it still offers some performance mileage to the tablet even with newer chips already in the market. The Chuwi UBook X has an IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. It has a 3:2 aspect ratio and a maximum brightness of 340 nits. It has a magnesium allow and polycarbonate body and dimensions of 11.5 x 8,2 x 0.4 inches and a 38Wh battery.

The UBook X weighs about 810g and supports Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. It has several ports including USB-C (for charging and data), USB-A 3.0, micro HDMI, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet also has a microSD card reader. The keyboard can be connected to the bottom of the tablet via a set of pogo pins while its built-in kickstand provides angular positioning for the tablet. The optional pen is the Chuwi HiPen H7 stylus with up to 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

An identical model to the UBook X is the UBook XPro which comes with a bigger 5,000mAh battery than the UBook X. The Chuwi UBook X tablet is being offered at a discounted price of $359 for the 8GB+256GB model, with up to $80 chalked off its original price. There are added costs for the accessories of the tablet with a $40 bundle offering a detachable keyboard and pressure-sensitive pen. The UBook XPro is almost identical to the UBook X 2023 and it is offered at a discounted price of $399 at the least.

OnePlus has updated a lot of its devices to OxygenOS 13.1, and now, the two-generation old OnePlus 9R is also getting the same treatment. The brand officially started seeding the OxygenOS 13.1.0.581 update for the OnePlus 9R for Indian users.

The monitor comes with a decent audio architecture that includes dual built-in 5W speakers. Interfaces in the monitor include HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, Thunderbolt 4 outputs (100W and 27W), and USB-C with 15W power. The monitor also features a wired network port among others.

The ThinkVision P49w-30 monitor is priced in Japan at ¥275,000 (~$1,905). It is also set to be released in China subsequently. Lenovo has not released availability details for the new monitor in the global market.

Honor will be holding a launch event in Paris on July 6 to launch the Honor 90 series smartphones for global markets. The brand is expected to debut two devices at this event, the Honor 90 5G and the Honor 90 Pro. Ahead of the launch, the brand teased that the Honor 90 5G will feature an “enhanced display”.

Although the teaser hints at a curved display and rounded edges, it doesn’t provide detailed information about the display itself. Thankfully, the device has already been released in China, granting us access to all the information we need.

What’s special about the Honor 90 5G’s display?

The Honor 90 5G boasts a 6.7-inch OLED display offering an FHD+ resolution of 2664×1200 pixels. Notably, it supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and reaches a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The display also impresses with its wide color gamut of 1.07 billion colors. Moreover, a noteworthy feature is the world’s first implementation of 3,840Hz PWM dimming on this device.

For that unaware, PWM dimming offers eye-related benefits due to flicker reduction and eye fatigue reduction. Flickering caused by rapid on-off backlight switching can lead to discomfort or eye strain for certain individuals. However, PWM dimming at higher frequencies minimizes or eliminates flickering, resulting in a more comfortable viewing experience. Additionally, precise control over brightness levels with PWM dimming helps reduce eye fatigue, which can occur from excessively bright or dim screen settings.

other than that, the Honor 90 5G will also feature a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Additionally, the device will boast a 5000mAh battery with 66W fast charging via a USB Type-C 2.0 port.

When it comes to photography, the Honor 90 is equipped with a 200MP main camera, along with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth-of-field sensor. While it lacks Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), it does support Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). Additionally, the device features a 50MP front-facing camera for capturing selfies.

Legion Y700 2023 could bring a more powerful processor

An official teaser on Weibo confirms that Lenovo is ready to launch the Legion Y700 2023 on July 22. The launch event will take place in China. While not much information has been revealed through the teaser, it does give us a good look at the device’s front panel. It appears that the slate will have essentially the same design as its predecessor, with thick bezels on the front.

Lenovo reveals the tablet will retain the 8-inch display of the 2022 model. Other hardware details of the device are still anyone’s guess. Since it’s a refresh, we can expect it to get new and more powerful processor, a higher refresh rate screen, among other upgrades.

To remind you, the original Legion Y700 tablet (review) brings an 8.8-inch LCD display with support for a 100 DCI P3 color gamut. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, the slate is powered by the capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. It packs a large 6,550mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging and runs on ZUI 13.

Honor is ready to launch the Magic V2, its latest book-style foldable, in China on July 12. Today, the company has confirmed that a new tablet— the MagicPad 13— will also share the stage with the folding phone, along with an eSIM-supported Honor 4 smartwatch. Furthermore, Honor revealed that it will also launch the new Smart TV 5, featuring a sleek design. Here’s what we know so far.

Honor Smart TV 5 will be launched on the same day

According to teasers on Weibo, the Magic V2 will be accompanied by at least three more devices. The major one will be the Honor MagicPad 13 tablet, which features a 13 inches display with thin bezels. It will also come with niceties like a cover keyboard and a stylus. Other details of the slate are yet to be known.

The Honor Watch 4 has also been teased. The wearable is pictured with a squircle dial that resembles the Apple Watch series. What’s interesting about this watch is that it comes with eSIM support, which is a first for an Honor smartwatch. An eSIM will open up a wide range of connectivity options for users, allowing them to make calls and perform various tasks directly from the watch itself. It features a single button on the right side and is claimed to have better battery life.

As mentioned, Honor will also launch the Smart TV 5 on July 12. While not much has been revealed in the teasers, the TV appears to have a large size and features a sleek design. Xiaomi has released MIUI 14 for most of its eligible devices. However, not all of these updates are based on Android 13. Some popular Xiaomi smartphones still run Android 12 as the underlying operating system, even though they have the latest version of MIUI. While these users wait to get the Android 13 update, Xiaomi has announced the Android 14-based MIUI beta for three of its popular flagships. Here are the details.

Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro getting Android 14 but not the 13 Ultra

According to the official announcement, Xiaomi is now seeking beta testers to try out the MIUI based on Android 14. The company has decided to offer early access to the software for users of Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 12T. It is surprising to see that Xiaomi has not included its latest ultra flagship, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra (review), in the roster. Notably, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is also missing out.

Xiaomi is currently recruiting beta testers for the MIUI 14.1 update, which is expected to be released in stable form later this year. The company is looking for only 2000 users for each of the above-mentioned devices. Also, selections will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Xiaomi notes that beta testers should be willing to go to the local Xiaomi service center if devices can’t be turned on after updating.

Most importantly, the company will only accept applicants running the Global ROM of the devices. Other versions such as Europe and Indian builds will have to wait. To check your version, go to settings and then the About phone section of your device.

Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy M34 5G in India on July 7. The South Korean brand has already teased key features of the upcoming offering. However, the smartphone’s hardware details are under wraps. It appeared on Geekbench recently. Now, the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G has been spotted on the Google Play Console certification.

The Samsung Galaxy M34 5G Google Play Console listing reveals that the device will have a display resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a screen density of 420 DPI. It will pack 6GB RAM. The listing mentions a processor codenamed s5e8825 comprising of two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4GHz and six A55 cores at 2GHz. There is a Mali G68 GPU onboard. This suggests that the device will be powered by an Exynos 1280 chipset. The upcoming smartphone will run on Android 13 out of the box.

The information on the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G on Google Play Console is in line with the Geekbench listing. Alongside the 6GB variant, the smartphone is also tipped to come in an 8GB RAM option. It is expected to be priced between Rs 21,000 and Rs 24,000. We should learn official details about the Galaxy M34 5G on Friday.

MKBHD recently provided an exclusive first look and a brief hands-on experience of the highly anticipated Nothing Phone (2). As a result, the brand has now officially unveiled the official image of the Nothing Phone (2).

While the design of the Phone (2) was previously showcased in a video, it has been confirmed that the upcoming device will be available in two color options: grey and white. From a design perspective, Nothing has made minimal alterations compared to the Phone (1). These modifications include a subtly curved back design and the introduction of a fragmented Glyph interface design.
