Nubia Mobile has officially teased the launch of its latest flagship device, the Nubia Z50 Ultra Starry Night Collector’s Edition. The phone boasts cutting-edge technology and design inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night.”

A man from Delhi lost Rs. 29 lakhs after falling victim to an Instagram scam in a horrifying event. The man had purchased an iPhone from an Instagram seller. The seller gave a significant discount on the iPhones, causing the consumer to make the deal. The complainant, identified as Vikas Katiyar by officials, resides in Delhi’s Ghitorni neighbourhood.

The complainant told the police that a few days before, he went to an Instagram page where he saw iPhones being sold at high discounts and was attracted to buy one. According to Katiyar, this gang of people requested 30% of the phone’s purchase in advance, or Rs. 28,000. Following that, their staff contacted him via several mobile phones and requested further payments to clear customs holdings and other taxes.

Nevertheless, the customer did not get any shipment details after making the purchase. When he contacted the seller, the seller stated that the shipment was held up in customs and requested additional funds to clear it. The buyer deposited more money into the seller’s account after believing the seller’s story. This went on for a few weeks until the customer realised he had been duped.

According to the victim’s complaint, he transferred INR 28,69,850 ($35,000) across many accounts, expecting that everything would be addressed and that he would receive the aforesaid iPhone. The buyer filed a report with the Delhi Police’s cybercrime unit, which is looking into the situation. The police have warned people to be cautious while making online transactions and to confirm the seller’s legitimacy before making any payments.

OnePlus has set the launch for March 7 and has already confirmed many features on the Ace V2 via teasers. Here’s everything that’s known about the device so far.

Design & display

Starting off, multiple teasers have revealed that the OnePlus Ace V2 will feature a boxy design with flat edges. The brand has revealed that these edges will be made of high quality aluminium that’s usually found on flagship smartphones. The back panel will also be flat and house a triple camera setup located on two circular camera islands. This camera design has previously appeared on multiple devices including the OnePlus Nord 2T and Realme 10 series.

The front of the device will have a flat OLED display that measures 6.74 inches and offers a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and 10-bit colors. It also features high-frequency PWM dimming, a brightness of 1450 nits, and HDR 10+ for improved image quality. It will have a centered punch hole for the front camera. The bezels surrounding the device are revealed to be super thin and even. The phone will also include the popular notification slider on the side of the smartphone.

Performance

The brand has also released additional information about the Ace 2V, stating that it will be powered by a Dimensity 9000 chipset and will come with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. This week Lenovo did a teaser announcement stating that their next affordable Lenovo Legion gaming laptop in China will Nvidia’s latest generation RTX 4050 GPU, but it seems that the brand decided to share more details of the upcoming gaming laptop, including an option for buyers to upgrade to an RTX 4060 as well.

The announcement comes from the official Lenovo Legion Weibo account in China, as they announce that the upcoming Lenovo Legion Geek Pro G5000 will feature an option for buyers to upgrade to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU that has a max TDP of 115W. Previously it was announced that the Legion laptop will arrive in a base model that has RTX 4050 with a max TDP of 95W, so giving consumers the option to upgrade to a better configuration is a commonplace market practice.

As for the details of the 115W RTX 4060 GPU in Lenovo’s upcoming Legion Geek Pro G5000, the company shared that the GPU will have 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, support for the AV1 video-encoding codec, and Nvidia’s DLSS 3.0 graphics technology.

The company also shared some performance benchmarks, namely 3DMark Time Spy Benchmarks, of the RTX 4060 running on the affordable gaming laptop. It can be seen that the RTX 4060 has extraordinary power efficiency, as with only 45W of power, less than 40% of the max TDP of 115W, the RTX 4060 GPU can already pump out 70% of its max achievable performance.

Besides the GPU, ITHome quoted that Lenovo has stated that the Legion Geek Pro G5000 will be powered by Intel’s 13th Gen Core i5 processors, equipped with a 15.6-inch screen, 16:9 ratio, 2560 x 1440 resolution, 165 Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB coverage of the colour gamut, and 350 nits of brightness. Nintendo has announced that it has taken Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon offline due to security issues. The company posted a message on its website stating that urgent maintenance was required to fix a vulnerability related to online play. Nintendo has not yet provided an estimated time for when the network services will be restored. The company apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this situation.

According to Dataminer OatmealDome, the issue is “almost certainly” due to ENLBufferPwn. This exploit could allow an attacker to take control of a victim’s system by simply being matched with them in an online multiplayer game. It was previously found to be a problem in Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS and several other Switch games, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Nintendo Switch Sports, Splatoon 2 and 3. However, Nintendo has already patched those titles to protect them against the exploit.

A video posted by YouTuber PabloMK7 showed ENLBufferPwn in action on Mario Kart 7. It allowed custom firmware to be inserted onto the targeted console, and it could have potentially been used to steal account or credit card information, as well as to record a victim using the 3DS’ mic and cameras.

Although it may disappoint those still playing the games on the discontinued Wii U system, it seems that Nintendo had little choice but to take the online features offline until the security issue is resolved. Users must open the “Advanced Features” menu in the Settings app to access S Pen options, then hit the three-dot button to reset. The “Keep S Pen connected” option, which is by default disabled to conserve battery life whenever the S Pen is inactive for an extended period of time, is another potential solution to this problem. Users must open the Settings app, go to “Advanced features,” select “S Pen,” then “Additional S Pen Settings” to enable this function.

There are currently no official statements on the issue, and the brand has not yet acknowledged the problem. I strongly hope that the company will take care of the problem and make a patch available as soon as possible. Most users won’t have a problem with this, but those who use the S-Pen frequently might become frustrated. Future upgrades from the company could resolve the problem. The Baybot Live360º Wireless Wi-Fi smart security camera has been unveiled in India. The Baybot Live360º has a 360-degree, upgraded 3MP camera that offers all-around monitoring throughout the day. The camera is capable of motion detection and smart tracking, while two-way communication is also possible with your smartphone.

The launch of the Baybot Live360º camera follows the earlier release of the OpenAlert Smart Wireless Door Monitor in India last year. The camera has a 360-degree rotating head and can be set up to automatically monitor every corner of your household. It can also be switched to manual mode to focus on a specific region of your house or surrounding.

You can use the Baybot app to adjust the camera’s angle and pan up to 355º horizontally and 80º vertically. The camera’s wide-angle lens provides a panoramic view of the environment while the built-in microphone and speakers enable two-way audio communication. The camera sends an instant notification to the user’s smartphone when motion is detected. It also records a clip and takes a screenshot of the object. Smart motion detection is also enabled with the Live360º Wireless Wi-Fi camera. It can track moving objects like animals or persons and automatically pans to keep the subject in the crosshair while recording.

The night vision mode is activated when the light dims and the infra-red LEDs make it possible to detect activity in complete darkness. The camera supports Wi-Fi connectivity for live feeds to your phone and the Baybot app is available in Android and iOS app stores. Alternatively, up to 128GB of microSD storage is available for up to two weeks of footage. Baybot is also offering optional subscriptions for unlimited data saved to the Baybod Cloud Service.

The package of the Baybot Live360º wireless camera includes the camera, a USB cable with adaptor, ceiling/ wall mount bracket, screws, and wall plugs, as well as a User Manual. Baybot is offering a one-year warranty for the product and it is priced at Rs. 2,299 (~$28). The product comes with a mounting plate for easy installation and can be purchased directly from Baybot India’s official website or Flipkart.

Popular robot vacuum manufacturer, Roborock, has released the Roborock H1 washing machine in China. The product is a reflection of the brand’s expanding portfolio within the smart home ecosystem. The Roborock H1 washing machine uses low-temperature air circulation to dry clothes efficiently without damage to the clothes.

The H1 washing machine uses an energy-saving algorithm for the drying process together with Zeo-cycle low-temperature drying. It uses warm air circulation to remove water from the fabric and prevents shrinking. The built-in algorithm automatically stops drying when the machine detects dry clothes. There are 25 washing and drying modes available with the washing machine. The Roborock H1 has a self-cleaning mechanism and the machine can be controlled via its touchscreen or the companion app.

The washing machine can handle up to 12kg of clothes and is available in either black or white variants. The machine is 34.4 inches tall and can be pre-ordered from Roborock. The Roborock H1 washing machine has a 5,999 yuan (~$874) launch price with a 100 yuan (~$15) deposit until March 20. The original price of the H1 washing machine is 7,299 yuan (~$1,063). Roborock is yet to provide availability and pricing information on the product in overseas markets.

Roborock has carved a niche for itself with its array of robot vacuum cleaners available in several markets. It hopes to leverage its excellent record in the home cleaning segment of the market to market the new H1 washing machine.

Dell G15 & G16 Laptops With 13th Gen Intel Chips & Nvidia RTX 40 GPUs Hitting Store Shelves Later This Month

Dell has just announced that the refreshed G15 and the G16 budget gaming laptops will be hitting store shelves later this month in the US market. The laptops were initially revealed at CES 2023, however, Dell did not reveal the pricing of these devices.

The new laptops will come with the latest hardware from Intel and Nvidia. This means Intel’s 13th Gen CPUs and Nvidia’s RTX GPU. According to the CES announcement, both the Dell G15 and G16 laptops will come equipped with a Core i9-13900HX processor, up to 32 GB of DDR5 memory that is upgradeable, an RTX 4070 graphics card, and a storage capacity of up to 2 TB in the high-end model. The main distinguishing factor between the two laptops is their available screen options.

Those who opt for the Dell G15 can choose between a 15.6-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a Full HD resolution, and 250 nits of brightness, or a 165 Hz screen with 300 nits of brightness. In contrast, the G16 boasts a larger 16-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and a brightness of 300 nits, available in either a 165 or 240 Hz refresh rate.

The base variants of the Dell G15 and G16 laptops, featuring Intel Raptor Lake CPUs and Nvidia RTX GPUs, are priced at US$899 and US$1,499, respectively. It is interesting to note that Dell has plans to release SKUs with AMD processors in Q2, but has not disclosed any information regarding their pricing.

Garmin Forerunner 265 & Forerunner 265S Mid-range Smartwatches Launch With AMOLED Displays

The Garmin Forerunner 265 series which has been the subject of many leaks have now been released. The two models in the mid-range smartwatch series are the Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 265S and both come with AMOLED displays. They are available in two sizes and multiple color combinations.

The Forerunner 265 has a 46mm chassis and a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels. The Forerunner 265S is 42mm in size with a 1.1-inch, 360 x 360 pixels AMOLED display. Both smartwatches come with built-in touchscreens and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Up to 8GB of storage is available in both models and they come with a similar array of sensors. Multi-GNSS connectivity is supported in the Forerunner 265 series for precise positioning, while heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring are also supported.

The pre-installed software in the Forerunner 265 series provides access to several exercise modes, and smart notifications, and the Connect IQ Store and Garmin Pay are supported. The new Forerunner 265 models support music playback by default and Garmin will omit the music-centered models. The Garmin Forerunner 265S has up to 15 days of battery life in smartwatch mode, while the Forerunner 265 delivers 13 days of battery life. The battery life is substantially reduced when using GPS or in heavy mode.

The Garmin Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 265S are now available in the US and a few selected markets. Both models are offered at a launch price of $449.99 and can be ordered directly from Garmin. A few color combinations are available for the two models. The color combinations are for the bezel, Silicone band, and watch case.
