Xiaomi CEO targets to sell 100 million smartphones in 2015

Who could have thought 5 years ago that Xiaomi would become one of the main players in the smartphone industry. Some of the analysts still call it a startup company as it is very young for electronics industry. However, the Xiaomi sits in the top 5 smartphone makers category and the company’s CEO Lei Jun does not see any slow-downs yet.

As the Xiaomi’s Global Supplier Conference was held today, Lei Jun hit a stage and pointed out a few important facts to the suppliers. He made it clear that Xiaomi’s this year’s target is around 80-100 million units!

Lei Jun said: “I hope you make sure to complete the production tasks, thus making it easier for the users to buy the phone.”

d98caebb7ed14b52b5262f35d2a993fb

The current official data shows that Xiaomi’s smartphone shipments in 2014 amounted to about 65 million. According to the predicted numbers, the company may see a 23-54% growth in sales this year. Knowing how Xiaomi’s phones are popular, we can say if the company is able to produce enough devices to supply the demand, it is really possible to reach this important milestone.

What is more, Lei Jun stressed out that the company always strives for the high quality products and they put a lot of effort to ensure a quality control of its production lines. The result is a high quality device, which has an affordable price point.

Summing up what has been said by the CEO of Xiaomi, we can say that there is a chance that the supply will be bigger soon, so it would become easier to purchase Xiaomi devices.  Moreover, we can clearly see that the company keeps on growing at amazingly fast pace and has become a real threat to the main players in the market. We have to wait and see what happens when Xiaomi enters EU and US markets in the future.

Ulefone Be Pure Benchmarks Along with the Main Specs Revealed

Ulefone has made itself quite famous by producing a very similar to the OnePlus One, yet a bit different device – Be Pro. After it started getting quite positive reviews on both our website and other tech communities, the company started teasing a smaller “mini” version of it, which is called Ulefone Be Pure.

Be-Pure_Banner_01

As the 5 inches smartphones started becoming quite a rare thing these days, the Be Pure wants to provide you with a device, which is compact, yet capable. The upcoming device should look very similar to the bigger brother, but may still spot some minor differences.

Be-Pure_Banner_03

As the name suggests, the device is said to have stock Android UI, 13mp/5mp camera combo and octa core chip inside.

However, the device is still being teased by the company and it is not released yet, but it was already spotted on the Antutu database confirming main specs of the upcoming device by Ulefone.

Screenshot_2015-03-24-14-15-24

As you can see, the Ulefone Be Pure scores pretty great as it is sit just below LG G3 and above the HTC One. For the price tag it is supposed to carry, it is not bad at all.

The benchmarks reveal that the device spots a MTK6592 chip inside, which is only 32-bit. For some it may sound a like a disappointment, but we need to check the device in reality to see how it performs. Also, the device has a 720p display, has 1 GB of Ram and the graphics are handled by the Mali-450T GPU.

It seems that the device should be launched quite soon and we can’t wait to get the hands-on and tell you the first impressions of it.

The ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini and Nubia Z9 max leaked a day before launch, specs revealed!

ZTE will announce the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini, Z9 Max and the Z9 at an official event tomorrow. However, today, we already have the leaked images as well as specifications of both the models. This isn’t the first time we are hearing about the Z9 Max as the company had already shown off the device at MWC 2015. However, before today, we had only a handful of information about the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini.

2689236051

ZTE’s Nubia lineup has come a long way since its launch and the latest Z9 series features a new stylish design and top end specs to keep things interesting. We have already seen the Z9 Max in action and the design looked pretty good. Today’s leak confirms that the Z9 Mini will use the same design as the Max but in a smaller body. The ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini is a bit thicker than the Max, but just by 0.3mm. This is further justified by the battery onboard, which is the same 2900mAh capacity one found on the larger model.

FFDF535AC8E0D7C674F91920D6ABD657

Even though the phone bears the ‘Mini’ tag, it comes with capable hardware underneath. The device features the octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor that’s currently used by most upper mid-range devices in the market. The processor is supported by 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM which is further expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD.

4F6F57D9769C7F82DB18FC1EF5C66B0E

Since, this is the Z9 Mini, you get a compact 5-inch OGS display with full HD  1920 x 1080p resolution. There’s a 16MP camera at the back and an 8MP shooter at the front. As mentioned above, there will be a 2900 mAh battery, which is pretty great for a device of its size. Given that the phone is a part of the premium Nubia lineup, it will support all three Chinese carrier 4G networks namely China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. As for software, the ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini will run on Android 5.0 version with the company’s Nubia v2.8 on top.

988742FDB6180EAEF0BA9149C83C732E

We already know most of the specs of the Z9 Max. It will sport the super fast Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM which can be expandable. You get the same 16MP + 8MP camera combination as the Mini along with the 2900 mAh battery.

While its highly likely that the specs leaked by this source are bang on target, let me remind you that its still not official. Only after tomorrow’s launch can we confirm the specs and the features of the new ZTE Nubia Z9 Mini.

Innos Yi Luo D6000 features a large 6000mAh battery and USB Type-C port

We saw some interesting gadgets at MWC 2015. Among the long list of products from well known manufacturers, there was the Innos Yi Luo D6000 smartphone that caught our attention. The device manufactured by a small local company in China boasted of being the phone with the world’s largest battery. Its 6000 mAh total battery capacity puts every other smartphone to shame.

This is not the first time we are seeing a phone with a large battery from Innos Yi Luo. Back in 2012, the company had announced the D9 with a 4160 mAh battery, which was considered very large at that time.

innos li yuo d6000

The company managed to fit in such a large battery in just a 11.6mm body. While, this can be called as thick considering today’s smartphone standards, its quite commendable for a device that packs in such a massive battery.

The phone comes with two batteries which add up to 6000mAh. There’s 2000 mAh that’s embedded into the device and another 4000 mAh battery which can be removable. What’s more the Innos Yi Luo D6000 boasts of charging both the batteries simultaneously to 100% in just 2.7 hours. That’s an impressive feat since most smartphones with 2000-3000mAh batteries take around the same time to charge.

innos li yuo d6000 USB TYpe C

This is made possible with the USB Type-C port at the bottom. Yes, you heard it right. This particular local Chinese smartphone features the much talked about USB 3.1 Type-C port that charges both the batteries at the same time. Its much faster than previous USB generations which further increases the charging speed.

The Innos Yi Luo D6000 is not just about its large battery. The company has made sure that it comes with other top end features to attract users. The phone is powered by the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. You get a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p display protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3. There will be a 16MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and an 85 degrees wide angle 5MP front shooter ideal for selfies.

It features the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS version. What’s more, it supports at total of 20 frequency modes including TD-LTE / FDD-LTE / WCDMA / TD-SCDMA / GSM and telecom EVOD and CDMA1x. Other important features include Wolfson Audio chip, dual-active noise cancellation, gyroscope, compass and other sensors.

The Innos Li Yuo D6000 is expected to hit the Chinese markets by April this year. Pricing is not yet revealed but expect it to be less than 1999 Yuan, which will make it a great buy. Unfortunately, we don’t think the phone will make it to international markets.

HTC One M9 Plus leaked once again with 20.7MP dual camera unit and fingerprint sensor

We have been hearing about HTC One M9 Plus since the start of the year, however, the company has not confirmed the existence of the device officially. In fact, HTC has already announced its flagship smartphone for the year, the HTC One M9 with much fanfare at MWC 2015 on March 1st. Unfortunately, we didn’t see the M9 Plus at the event, which means the company will probably keep a separate event for its launch later this year.

Today, new images of the HTC One M9 Plus were leaked online, once again confirming the existence of fingerprint sensor as well as a large rear dual camera unit.

3htc one m9+ 2

On first glance, the M9 Plus and M9 looks a lot similar in design. However, there are some areas which clearly differentiates this upcoming smartphone. First of all, you have that large home button up front. The HTC One M9 had onscreen keys and hence, the area was just occupied by the speakers on the device. However, this leak shows off the home button which will most likely harbor the fingerprint sensor. The button lies slightly below the overall body, which we hope will not affect the efficiency of he fingerprint identification process.

htc one m9+

Coming to the back, you can see the same brushed metal finish as the M9. However, instead of a traditional single camera unit, the M9 Plus features a dual camera unit like its previous generations. The main camera sensor looks larger than anything we have seen before on an HTC device, and will most probably be of 20.7MP resolution. You can also clearly see the ‘China Mobile 4G’ logo at the back.

htc one m9+ 2

As for the tech specs, the new HTC One M9 Plus is said to come with 5.2-inch 2K resolution display. On the other hand, the M9 has a 1080p full HD screen. Also, instead of Snapdragon 810, the phone is said to feature Mediatek’s MT6795T processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU. There will be 3GB RAM onboard along with 32GB of internal storage. No information about the existence of a MicroSD slot is available.

The rear camera unit will be of 20.7MP while the front shooter will be the same 4MP Ultrapixel unit as its predecessor. Finally, a 2840 mAh battery is said to power the device. Like mentioned at the start of the article, HTC has been quite about this smartphone till now. But rumors say that we could see an official release as early as April this year. Pricing will be a sensitive point, but expect it to be around 5000 yuan ($800).

So, what do you think about the HTC One M9 Plus?

Xiaomi likely to release the Xiaomi MiPad 2 on its fifth anniversary

In our previous article, we mentioned that Xiaomi may release a number of products on March 31, when it completes five years. In the same post, we had said that Xiaomi MiPad 2 was a likely candidate.

xiaomi mipad 2 release

Now, just a few hours after the company announced its fifth anniversary celebration, the official Weibo account of Xiaomi MiPad has confirmed that there will be tablet launched at the event, most likely the Xiaomi MiPad 2.

The Weibo post said “小米5周年,有我。其他的不让说了” which means “I will be shown at the event”. In other words, a new Xiaomi tablet will be launched at the company’s fifth anniversary.

Unfortunately, the weibo page revealed nothing about the specs or the design of the device. Also, we haven’t heard much about a new tablet from the company in recent times.

xiaomi-mipad2-leak3
But back in December 2014, we had seen a leak which claimed to be the new MiPad 2. The tablet had a different design than the current generation MiPad but retained the same 7.9-inch display. The processor, however, was of Intel make instead of NVIDIA’s Tegra lineup and was clocked at 1.8GHz. Moreover, the RAM was the same as the MiPad, i.e. 2GB and internal storage was 16GB. It was running on MIUI based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

The leaked images did not have any Xiaomi MiPad branding, so it was hard to confirm whether the device was the real deal or a knock off.

xiaomi five year anniversary

Now that Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of the Xiaomi MiPad 2, lets wait patiently till Tuesday to get official details about the new tablet.

Xiaomi competes five years on March 31, expect some exciting announcements soon!

Xiaomi will complete five years on March 31. Over this period, this Chinese company has managed to accomplish something that many couldn’t even in twice the time. The company started slowly, focusing on the best consumer experience with limited number of products but now, it looks like Xiaomi is accelerating its pace.

xiaomi five year anniversary

This year itself we saw a number of new releases, including the flagship high-end lineup, the Xiaomi Mi Note series. And to celebrate the success of the company in the past five years, we may see some exciting product launches on March 31.

In the past few weeks, there have been multiple leaks which suggested that Xiaomi was working on another Snapdragon 810 powered Mi Note device called as the Xiaomi Mi Note Plus. So, we could see this powerful device next Tuesday.

Another possible announcement could be the large screen Xiaomi TV2. The company had confirmed earlier that it will have two models to offer in its new TV lineup, but yesterday at the official launch, we saw just one. While the features and the 1999 Yuan price tag makes it a steal, we were disappointed as we didn’t see the rumored 55-inch large screen model. So, this is another product that we can expect to see at the company’s five year anniversary.

As mentioned above, Xiaomi has gradually increased its pace of new releases. So we may see more than one announcement to celebrate the milestone. Other possible announcements could be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 or a new MiPad tablet or even the recently leaked 2GB RAM variant of the Xiaomi Mi4.

Anyways, we are just a week away from this event, so lets keep our fingers crossed and hope we see something exciting on March 31.

LeTV X900 leaked again, no bezels and USB Type-C port!

A few hours back, we saw the leaked image of the LeTV X600. The image came as a surprise since it revealed that the phone may have slim bezels on the sides after all. However, the ones that we have been seeing for the past few days featured bezelless design and today, there’s another leak which confirms this beautiful design on the LeTV X900.

letv x900

The image which was leaked today isn’t as good as the previous ones, but it confirms the existence of the USB Type-C port on the LeTV X900. You can also clearly see the dual speakers on both the sides of the port at the bottom.

On the left, there’s the power button as well as the volume rocker keys. Also, on top of the display, you can see the sensors and the front camera. The device is rumored to run on the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 with 4GB RAM and 20.7MP rear camera.

Both the models, namely the LeTV X900 and the X600 are expected to be unveiled at an event in April.

Benchmarking sites like GFXBench have many a times revealed specs of upcoming smartphones. This time, it was one of the Xiaomi’s upcoming phones, code named Xiaomi Ferrari that was spotted on this benchmarking website. The device did not have a specific model number, but it could be a part of the company’s affordable Redmi lineup.

xiaomi ferrari 2

The GFXBench entry reveals mid-range specs. Inside, the phone has the new Snapdragon 615 octa-core 64-bit processor clocked at 1.6GHZ with Adreno 405, 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. The display up front is of 4.9-inches and comes with a full HD 1080p resolution. The rear camera will be of 13MP while there will be a 5MP front shooter. Finally, the device will come with the latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop version.

xiaomi ferrari 3

GFXBench reveals that the Xiaomi Ferrari scores 692 in its single core test and 2481 in the multi-core test. These figures are just average, but good enough for a cheap mid-ranger.

As you can see, the new Xiaomi Ferrari would fit perfectly into the company’s Redmi lineup. The octa-core processor, 13MP camera and Android 5.0.2 will ensure takers provided the company prices it appropriately.

There are still some information missing like the battery, connectivity options, and pricing. The display resolution in particular is a bit interesting, since we don’t see many companies use full HD resolution on a 5-inch panel. So, lets wait and see if we get more details about the Xiaomi Ferrari. If the phone is real, expect more leaks soon.

40-inch Xiaomi TV2 announced at an amazing 1999 Yuan ($322) price tag

Time and again, Xiaomi has proved that you can get quality gadgets even at a very affordable price tag. Today, the company unveiled the brand new Xiaomi TV2 and this time, it’s a large 40-inch TV which retails for just 1999 Yuan. This is an amazing price for a TV of this size, especially with the features that it comes with.

mitv-summary-s-bg08

The Xiaomi TV2 features a 40-inch Sharp Super LCD display and continues with the same thin and narrow frame design as its earlier generations. This makes the images and the videos displayed on the TV extremely beautiful. The display sports a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a static contrast ratio of 5000:1 with dynamic response time of 6ms. The screen boasts of viewing angles of up to 176 degrees.

mitv-summary-s-bg03

In addition to the large 40-inch display, the Xiaomi TV2 comes with all the goodies that its previous generation had. So, the TV has a Cortex – A9 powered quad-core processor clocked at 1.45GHz along with Mali-450 MP4 GPU and 1.5GB RAM. There’s 8GB of inbuilt storage space, which unfortunately is not further expandable via MicroSD. The Xiaomi TV2 supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Dual Band 802.11 a / b / g / n Wi-Fi, H.265 hardware decoding, Dolby + DTS Audio, USB 3.0 and even Bluetooth 4.0.

The TV runs on a modified version of MIUI for TV. Xiaomi claims the UI is streamlined to make it user friendly and people of all ages can easily operate the device.

xiaomi tv2

Given the size of the display as well as the features that you get on the Xiaomi TV2, the 1999 price tag is definitely a steal. The TV will go on sale starting March 31. The company has not announced any plans for international release, but we hope this year, Xiaomi brings this amazing TV to newer markets as well.

LeTV X600 leaked again, but this one has bezels!

LeTV is on a roll this year. The company is expected to launch two new smartphones in April, namely the LeTV X900 and the LeTV X600. Both the models have leaked plenty of times to give us an idea about its design.

However, the latest leak reveals something different. Up till now, we have received reports as well as images which claimed that the device had no bezels at all, but this image, leaked by upleaks reveals thin but visible bezels. The leak says that this is the LeTV X600.

letv x600

Just a few days back, we saw a LeTV device with almost zero bezels and beautiful design. The phone was reportedly the higher-end model, the LeTV X900. So, it looks like the X900 will be bezelless while its slightly less powerful brother, X600 will have slim bezels.

Of course, there’s another possibility. This particular leak is fake. We have seen so many leaks about LeTV recently that its hard to believe which one is real. And today’s leak doesn’t help us at all. So, as of now, its best to take all the recent news with a pinch of salt.

We are just a few days away from the official launch of both the devices, and then we’ll finally get to see the final design on these phones. The LeTV X900 is said to come with the powerful Snapdragon 810 processor with 4GB RAM and a 20.7MP rear camera. On the other hand, the LeTV X600 will reportedly feature Mediatek MT6795 64-bit octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and a 13MP rear camera.

This is what the 399 Yuan smartphone from China Unicom looks like!

Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun said a few days back that the company had no plans for a 399 Yuan smartphone. The news came as a surprise because everyone was waiting for a great phone at that price tag. While Xiaomi probably won’t be making such a cheap phone, China Unicom announced recently that it would take up the challenge to make a great phone under 399 Yuan.

399 yuan smartphone

Now, the first images of China Unicom’s 399 Yuan device have been leaked. These images also reveal that the phone will be manufactured by Little Pepper. The Chinese carrier had said that it was partnering up with a manufacturer in Shenzhen for its cheap device. Since Little Pepper has established itself as an affordable smartphone manufacturer, this partnership doesn’t come as a surprise.

399 yuan smartphone 2

To be honest, this 399 Yuan smartphone looks extremely well built for its price. Even in the hardware department, you get decent specs. The phone sports a 5-inch display with HD 720p resolution. Inside, it has a quad-core Marvell PXA 1908 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. You also get an 8MP shooter at the back. Despite is super cheap pricing, the phone will support 4G LTE networks too!

Overall, the 399 Yuan smartphone turns out to be a great offering at this price tag. You get a decent screen, processor and even 4G LTE connectivity, which is at par(or even better than) most entry level offerings in the market. It is said that the phone will be available to purchase directly without any reservations, which is also good since we expect tremendous response for the device.

399 yuan smartphone 3

So, what do you think about this 399 Yuan smartphone from China Unicom? Looks pretty well built, right?

OPPO’s Bezelless phone now makes an appearance in a video!

Yesterday, we came to know that OPPO was working on a unique smartphone. OPPO’s Bezelless phone was leaked in pictures which showed off the beautiful display on the device.

Now, the same phone has made an appearance in a video, showing off the true bezelless design. So, for those who were worried that the images were fake, this should be a good indication of the device being real. Of course, even with a video appearance, we can’t really confirm that this is an OPPO device, since we don’t see any branding on the phone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMWYnNOblOg

The video shows off the device in action and from what we can see, everything was pretty smooth and responsive. We were worried that the bezelless design may hinder everyday operations, but it didn’t affect the experience, at least in the video. In fact, because of almost zero side bezels, the company could have reduced the width of the device, which will further help in handling it even with just one hand.

In case you are wondering, this is the same phone that was leaked yesterday, In fact, it seems that the video was taken around the same time as those images, since the background is exactly the same.

We also have to agree that the almost zero bezels makes the display stand out nicely. Watching anything on the device will definitely be a treat on that beautiful screen. Also, OPPO is known to incorporate high-end specs and display panels on their devices, so expect only high-end hardware (therefore performance) on the phone.

We sincerely hope OPPO releases such a device before the end of the year. Judging from the recent leaks, it looks like OPPO’s patented display tech may change the way smartphones displays are designed.

So, what do you think about the phone in the video?

Lenovo K3 Note takes on Meizu M1 Note for 899 Yuan

Lenovo is stepping up its game in the smartphone market with new releases this year. While the company announced more than five smartphones at MWC 2015 alone, now, Lenovo is back with another affordable smartphone, the new Lenovo K3 Note. This particular device will be a part of the company’s value for money Lemon lineup.

2e5cd2ad664240c2ae0e4f6a481ad3bf

Specs wise, the phone features upper mid-range specs. The Lenovo K3 Note comes with the powerful MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. This octa-core SoC can handle anything that you throw at it with ease. The processor is backed by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The ROM is further expandable thanks to the provided MicroSD slot which can take up to 32GB cards.

3c9a9447ff814beca74fb15dcaaec782

Given that it comes with the ‘Note’ name tag, the phone features a large 5.5-inch display. To make things even more attractive, you have full HD 1080p resolution on this display panel. This is exactly what you get on the Meizu M1 Note. The processor, display and RAM are the same as the Meizu phablet which clearly shows that the Lenovo K3 Note is looking to take on the popular device.

At the back, you have a 13MP camera unit while up front, you get a 5MP shooter. The battery will be of 3000 mAh which should be enough to last for an entire day with moderate usage. Naturally, with such great specs, the 4G LTE connectivity doesn’t come as a surprise. It also supports dual SIM dual Standby. The phone is pretty slim too and measures just 7.6mm in thickness. Given its plastic design, the K3 Note weighs just about 150 grams.

57173048771d45bcbd5b2af12a988660

The new Lenovo smartphone features a very unique design. While the bright yellow shade doesn’t come as a surprise given that this is from the Lemon lineup, the company’s logo is engraved inside a large circular ring at the back, which gives it a unique look. Also, the speakers are located on the around the top instead of the traditional bottom placement.

Overall, the Lenovo K3 Note tries to carve out its own identity in this over crowded market. And it succeeds to a certain extent to get our attention. The powerful specs, unique design and a price tag that’s 899 Yuan ensures that the Lemon K3 Note is one of the best mid-range handsets out there in the market.

s_ec416bb066084470a2a54490a720cd11

In addition to this, there will be a different Teana variant of this smartphone, which will spot a “ceramic piece vibration speaker). The Teana version will basically provide a better listening experience as it will have an upgraded speaker, which is louder and produces a rich sound. To have this feature, however, you would need to pay bit higher price tag, which is 999 Yuan.

The new Ulefone Be Pure features MT6592M processor and Android 5.0 in a compact body

Ulefone Be Pro made the headlines at the start of the year with its beautiful OnePlus One like design and mid-range specs, all for a price tag under $170. Now, the same company has released a new smartphone called as the Ulefone Be Pure. While the device may take some inspiration from its elder brother, the Be Pro, there are some subtle differences in its design to give it a unique look.

001

The Ulefone Be Pure is targeted at users who are looking for a beautiful yet compact 5-inch smartphone. While many like 5.5-inch+ screens, there is a section of population who would prefer a compact device that they can operate with just hand. And a 5-inch display is just perfect for such users. The 1280 x 720p HD resolution on the 5-inch IPS OGS screen ensures crisp and clear display.

004

Ulefone has made sure that the phone is powerful enough to run any apps. That’s why you get the fast MT6592 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Mali-450 GPU. There’s 1GB RAM onboard with 8GB of internal storage. While we would have loved a 2GB version, the company probably decided to go with just 1GB to keep the price low. From our experience, even 1GB is often enough for basic tasks.

At the back, you get a 13MP camera sensor capable of recording full HD 1080p videos while up front, you have a 5MP shooter. The phone is pretty compact with the dimensions 144 x 71 x 8.89mm and weighs just 30 grams. Finally, at the back, you have a 2000 mAh battery which the company claims provides up to 12 hours of 3G web surfing.

The highlight of the Ulefone Be Pure is the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat version out of the box, but like the Ulefone Be Pro, users will get an OTA update in June, bringing the phone to the latest Android version.

The Ulefone Be Pro was a big hit for the company, thanks to its affordable pricing. This particular model too is priced appropriately and will be available for sale from next week for a price tag of $149. You can choose between dark blue and white colors that you can see in the picture above.

This could be our first look at OPPO’s bezelless phone

Yesterday, GSMArena reported that OPPO was working on a unique display technology which could hide the slim bezels on a smartphone. The technology covers the existing rectangular smartphone display with a “special light guide structure” to minimize the visible bezels. Basically, the covering on the display refracts light in a way that the display extends beyond the unit, making us feel that the phone has no bezels.

The source said that the patent was applied on 19 December 2014 in China and it could take as much as six months before OPPO could start using this tech in their phones. However, it looks like we have got a first glimpse of the OPPO’s bezelless phone.

Two leaked images gives us the first look at the OPPO smartphone using this tech. The display has no side bezels at all, or at least it looks that way in the pictures. Even the bezels on the top as well as the bottom are quite slim, which should definitely improve the phone’s screen to body ratio.

Unfortunately, we are still not clear when OPPO’s Bezelless phone will be announced in the market. It seems that OPPO hasn’t received the patent rights yet and hence, it may take a while before a smartphone using this tech hits the market.

While phones without any bezels looks beautiful, there may be some problems with slim side bezels especially when operating the device. Also, the three bezel-less (of which two are leaked) phones that we have seen lately look very similar. So, it may become hard to differentiate between two models if all manufacturers decide to slim down the side bezels.

Anyways, what do you think about this leaked OPPO device? Looks real?

OnePlus One OxygenOS leaked again in pictures

OnePlus surprised everyone back in February when it announced its brand OxygenOS. However, up till now, we haven’t seen much of the ROM except for a few leaked images. But the company has assured that it will release the OS soon. In fact, we expect the new ROM to debut alongside the company’s flagship for the year, the OnePlus Two.

OPO oxygenOS

The company earlier said that it will offer the options of OxygenOS and CynogenMod to its users. So, they can install and use any one of the two ROMs on their devices.

Today’s leak doesn’t reveal much about the OS, except for the OS startup images. But previous leaks have shown us that the OxygenOS looks a lot like the slightly tweaked version of Android 5.0 Lollipop with flatter UI.

OPO oxygen OS 3Unfortunately, this is just a leak, so we can’t confirm whether this is the real deal. So, lets wait for a few more days to get an official look at the OxygenOS from OnePlus.

OnePlus One gets frozen in a block of ice, check what gets it out!

Smartphone manufacturers are known to use weird marketing campaigns to promote their products. Earlier today, we came across a post on Weibo where we saw the OnePlus One flagship killer frozen inside a large block of ice. And anyone who could get the phone from inside the ice could keep it. Pretty Good deal right?

Well, not exactly! When we say its a large, we mean it. The ice is about 4-5 feet high and quite thick too, which makes it extremely hard to get the OnePlus One smartphone that’s inside it.

A lot of people tried out their luck with the ice block, but nothing seemed to get through to the smartphone. For example, a person tried drilling into the block of ice, but without any success. Another tried pouring hot water on the ice block, hoping that it will melt off, but once again, that didn’t help.

So, did anyone manage to get the device? Yes, actually, there was one individual who managed to break the ice, that too using the old fashioned way i.e. violence!

As you can see in the picture below, the person started kicking the ice block, finally separating the top half. Then, he threw the block down to the ground and started breaking what’s left using a hammer.oneplus one in ice7

Well, that did the trick for him as he finally got what was inside the block of ice.

Hands-on with the 5.5-inch Lenovo Lemon K3 Note with MT6752

Just a few hours back, we reported that Lenovo had a surprise in store for its fans, the new Lenovo Lemon K3 Note. The device, like its name suggests, will be an affordable phablet in the company’s lemon smartphone series. Earlier, we got to see two pictures of the device, and now, there are enough pictures to show off the exact design on this upcoming smartphone.

The back of the Lenovo Lemon K3 Note features a very unique design. The smartphone continues with the trademark bright yellow shade of the Lemon series. The Lenovo branding is prominent at the back, especially since its located inside a circular ring which looks like it protrudes slightly from the overall body.

At the back, on the top left corner, you can see the camera unit along with the dual LED flash while on the right, there’s a microphone. Interestingly, the speakers are not located at the bottom, but on the top right corner. The protruding lenovo branding may help in loudness of the speakers since it will not be muffled when the display is facing upwards.

Coming to the front, there is a 5.5-inch full HD 1080p display with capacitive buttons at the bottom. On top, you have a front camera unit and a receiver mesh. Overall Design wise, the Lenovo K3 Note looks well built.

As for specs, the phone is said to come with the octa-core Mt6752 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. You can expand this further up to 32GB via MicroSD. At the back, there will be a 13MP camera while up front, you’ll get a 5MP sensor. The phone supports dual SIM cards and dual 4G TD-LTE networks. Finally, at the back, the K3 Note will feature a 3000 mAh battery, which is decent enough for a day’s battery life. Also, Lenovo has managed to limit its thickness to just 7.6mm, which is commendable given that the battery is large and can be removed.

While we don’t know the official pricing, it is said that the device will be affordable and will retail between 799 and 999 Yuan. The specs and the pricing puts the Lenovo Lemon K3 Note in direct competition with the Meizu M1 Note. Of course, the design on the M1 Note is much better than this Lenovo device, but still, its good enough to confuse potential smartphone buyers.

Lenovo is expected to announce the device later today. So, we will get more details like official pricing and international availability soon.

So what do think about the phone’s design?
