It also sports a 5-inch display screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720. It is powered by a 2500mAh battery and its operating system is the new CoolLife UI 5.5 OS which is based on the Android 4.2. The Coolpad Dashen F1 Goddess Edition will come in many different colors but the price will not change.
Shortly after Lei Jun claimed that the Xiaomi Mi4 press conference invitation letter is made by metal , and the material of the next generation of Mi4’s body is Austenitic stainless steel 304. Which is allegedly can provide strong rust and corrosion resistance. It is easy to be stamping form by its excellent plasticity and toughness. Stainless steel 304 is one of the most common stainless steel with the density of 7.93 g/cm3 , Which is also called as stainless steel 18/8 in the industry. It can resistant high temperature, have good processing performance, thus it is widely used in medical industry and furniture decoration industry and food industry.
Although this kind of stainless steel is very common in China, the name “stainless steel 304 “comes from the United States. Many people thought that stainless steel 304 is one of the Japanese models, but strictly speaking, a Japanese official called for stainless steel 304 is the “SUS304”. There are three kinds of common Marking methods on the market, they are 06 cr19ni10, S30408 and SUS304, of which 6 cr19ni10 is generally signified ISO production, S30408 is generally signified ASTM standard production, SUS 304 is signified Japanese standard production.
As a kind of common stainless steel, stainless steel 304 is widely used to make equipment and parts which required a good comprehensive performance (corrosion resistance and formability). In order to keep its inherent corrosion resistance, the component of chromium in stainless steel must more than 17% , and the component of nickel must more than 8% . Stainless steel 304 is a brand that produced according to the United States ASTM standards.
According to the picture, the profile of the invitation is quite similar to the phone (5″ screen), if there is no accident, MI4 would be the same size.
Last week, Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, announced that they would hold the press conference on July 22 at the China NationalConvention Center , if there is no surprises, then we could be able to see the real apperence of Xiaomi Mi4 for the first time.
Today some net friends exposed Xiaomi’s launch invitation letter in the social network, they unexpectedly used a steel plate as an invitation, which is quite different from former ones.
Qualm controls the domestic market of 4G mobile phone chips, whenever you buy china mobile or not, and they are all adopted snapdragon of qualm. We have no choice, but this situation will not last for long.
According to Taiwan, MTK, One of the biggest supplier, will put out a new advanced octa-core 4G LTE CPU-“MT6595”, and plan to shake the status of qualm. MT 6595 is the first LTE octa-core SOC by MTK, is also the first one with A17 CPU. The four A17 cores and four cortex A7 cores are joint by HMP, and both are okay: work together or work separately. MTK indicates this structure can realize the best division, heat management and consumption control.
Cortex A17 can, properly speaking, support Cortex A12 of Big Little, and his position is lower than Cortex A15 aiming to replace the old Cortex-A9、A17 and support the new technology of video encoder like HEVC 4K/2K.It can play with taking if you like.
But for MTX, the greatest significance is support of 4G LTE. The 4G TDD LTE license has been issued to two operators. There is no doubt that the mainland China become the main motive force of global 4G market, like china mobile sold about 2000 million phones in the first half year and need to achieve the target of 5000 million.
After MT6595, 64 bit four cores and octa-core LTE chip will also be in the fourth quarter, and shipments of LTE chip are expected to 15000 sets this year, which takes five percent in 3 billion shipments of smart-phone chip.
A week before the product launch, details about MI 4 continues to be exposed. @C Technology just reveals in Weibo, that MI 4 will be integrated with fingerprint identification function, which in design works by sensing a finger’s touch (not by sensing a finger’s movement, which is used in Galaxy S5). It can go into different functions according to gathered fingerprint information, entering main interface by default.
Nevertheless, the question is where the fingerprint identification function will be placed in Xiaomi Mi4?
As is disclosed in previous spy photos (relatively with a high liability), MI 4 has a mainstream design, that is a front-panel display with 3 navigation bottoms below. There is no indication that MI 4 is able to carry the fingerprint identification function. However, what if such function is to be designed at on the backside? With reference to existing models, such design has little practicability, and that’s more to do with stunts.
Thus, MI 4 with a fingerprint identification function still puts a huge question mark.
As for the specific configuration, in summary, MI 4, running MIUI V6 system, is expected to adopt a 5-inch 1080P screen, along with Snapdrago 801 processor(MSM8974AC), 3-GB Built-in Memory, and 5-million-pixels front camera and 5-million-pixels front camera and 13-million-pixels rear camera.
The change in appearance is one of its attractions: ultra-narrow border and joined metal material help to enhance the quality of visual impact. Besides, the anticipated production capacity will increase a lot more, compared with before. When it comes to the selling price, it is said to be as high as 2499RMB($400). How much do you think?
There’s only about a few weeks left until Xiaomi launches their newest installment in the Mi series, the Xiaomi Mi 4. Xiaomi will host a launch event for the Mi 4 along with their other new products on July 22.
In the meantime, new information has come out on the phone’s specs. The Mi 4 uses a 5-inch 1080p display screen. Its processor is the Snapdragon 801 chipset (MSM8974AC) with 2.5GHz. It also sports a 5mp/13mp camera and its operating system is the MIUI V6 OS. The biggest changes in the phone are its mid-size frames and the fact that it was designed with a metal case. Hopefully, the Mi 4 supports 4G internet.
According to previous reports, the Mi 4’s starting price is 1999 RMB.
In addition to the Mi 4, Xiaomi will launch the Hongmi Note 4G edition, Xiaomi Smart Armband, and the MIUI V6.
In a few days, Gionee will release a new 4G phone into the market with the model name, “GN151.”
The GN151’s design is similar to the Fenghua 3 series’. It has round edges and curvy sides. Its measurements are 137.5 x 68.5 x 8.9mm.
One of the good things about the Gionee GN151 is that it uses a combination of the MT6582 quad-core chipset and MT6290 frequency band chip. It also sports a 4.7-inch display screen with FWVGA resolution (854 x 480), 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, a 2mp/5mp dual-camera, and sensors like an electric compass. It is powered by a 1800ma battery and supports dual-frequency WIFI.
The GN151 also supports LTE internet and uses the Amigo system. It can also support TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, and GSM. It does not support dual-SIM. The Android 4.4-based Amigo OS offers different kinds of features to take photos with.
The GN151 will be sold in stores at the price of 1199 RMB.
Xiaomi’s press conference would be held at The National Conference Center on July 22th, Phoenix digital has received the invitation from Xiaomi as the media guest. The figure below was probably the steel plate of the back cover of Xiaomi. The invitation of the press conference was made of metal, engraved “ A plate of steel’s tour of art” on the back, in with echos to the twitter of Lei Jun, however the received invitation dos’t present the number “4”.
Most of the rumors said that Xiaomi M4 will be powered with 5″ 1080p screen, snapdragon801, 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM, 5MP front camera and a 1300MP rear camera, running MIUI V6, priced at 1,999 yuan($320).

First impressions:
I can’t use Windows 8 very well right now. It is more complicated to use than with Android and Apple’s phones, but it should not take long for me to get used to it.
It runs pretty fast. The installation process is a bit slow. For example, when you unzip the Zip file to install Lu Dashi, it will take a while for the installation process to start.
Metro’s IE is very easy to use. Accessing video streaming sites like Youku are the same as with a regular computer. There are also no Flash problems. It’s standard Windows so compatibility is not a problem.
Screen resolution is good. There are no dark spots. I would go as far as call it perfect.
Heating is ok. It does not get too hot. Temperature is around 45.6 degrees.
I still don’ t know about its endurance.
I finally installed Lu Dashi, but I need to plug it in to test it.
Craftsmanship is okay. There is a bit of screen leakage.
Last week, the related news about Xiaomi’s annual launch event was released in Weibo by Lei Jun, which had attracted great attention, especially the pictures. People are curious about the implication of the number 4, however, most netizens believe that it refers to xiaomi Mi4. Tickets for the launch event went on sale on www.mi.com at midday. Unsurprisingly, 1000 tickets were sold out in one minute.
Only 1000 tickets were ready for sale this time, and they were only sold online. Since a great number of gifts would be given to participants in every Miphone conference, people are eager to attend it and the supply of the tickets has become further and further from enough. Thus, 1000 tickets were sold out in one minute unsurprisingly.
Currently, Xiaomi has not revealed any message about launch event and did not show any implication, making the situation being mysterious. Different surmise appears on the Internet, including 4G and 4 kinds of products. However, most people still believe that 4 refers to Mi4, because what is written in the picture is Annual Launch Event and they believe there must be major product in such an important conference. Everyone is looking forward what will happen. The answer will be published in July 22.
In the last two years, MediaTek has worked hard on producing great processors for Chinese phones and have even received orders from foreign brands like Sony and LG. As they continue to produce new chipsets, they are closing in on Qualcomm. Early this year, MTK finished their first LTE chipset, the MT6595, and will ship it to companies this month. So how is MTK’s first LTE processor?
Today, a snapshot of the Antutu benchmark test results of devices that use the MT6595 chipset came out. Surprisingly, this device scored 43000.
The MT6595 chipset uses four Cortex-A17 cores and four Cortex-A7 cores. It is an octa-core chipset that uses the big.Little design. It has a built-in PowerVR G6200 series GPU core. As a result, its GPU is in the same series as Apple’s A7 processor’s GPU, so it should not have bad performance. It’s CPU is compose of the Tubro High-Speed Edition (2.4-2.5GHz), the standard version with 2.1-2.2GHz, and a slower version with just 2GHz.
Interestingly, in the MT6595 chipset, only the Cortex-A7 has 1.7GHz. The device has 3GB RAM and uses the Android 4.4.2 OS.
It is not clear why the MT6595 scored so high. It is also not clear what device was used to test the MT6595. It is very likely that it is Chinese-made.
Another highlight of the MT6595 is 4G. This chipset supports LTE Release 9 Cat.4 internet (50Mbps-150Mbps), 4G dual-mode (TD-LTE and FDD-LTE). It is also compatible with DC-HSPA+42Mbps, TD-SCDMA, and EDGE/GSM.
The MT6595 also supports 20mp camera resolution, 2K display screens, and H.265 4K x 2K codec. MediaTek has boasted that the MT6595 has better performance, cost-performance ratio, and power consumption rate than even Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800/801. We’ll just have to wait until the second half of the year to see if they were just talking big.
Recently, some information came out that the Mi 4 may be designed with a metal case which would lead to an increase in production costs. As a result, Xiaomi will increase price of the Mi 4 to 2499 RMB.
The text in the poster for Xiaomi’s July 22 launch event says “A journey through steel.” Xiaomi’s vice-CEO, Wanqiang Li, also said in his Weibo account, that “comparing metal with plastic is like Germany playing against Brazil in the World Cup,” implying that the news about Xiaomi Mi4 using a metal design are true.
Many consumers compete with each other for Xiaomi’s smart phones because of their low prices, so this price increase may weaken this competition. Perhaps, this is just a psychological strategy Xiaomi is trying out with their prices. Whatever it is, we will just have to wait.

Xiaomi Mi4

Yesterday afternoon, Nubia launched three new flagship phones in Beijing, the Nubia Z7 (high-end market), Nubia Z7 Max (mid-end), and Nubia Z7 Mini (mainstream). With the prices of 3456 RMB (557 USD), 1999 RMB (322.18 USD) and 1499 RMB (241.59 USD) respectively, it looks like Nubia’s newest flagship phones cover a very wide scope.
Today, Inpai received the Z7 Max and Mini. With the Max costing 500 RMB more than the Mini, what’s the difference between the both of them?
The Max sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display screen, runs on the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 8974AC chipset, has 2GB RAM, 3GB ROM (supports 64GB expansion card), and a 5mp/13mp camera. It supports 4G internet and its OS is the Nubia UI 2.0 which is based on the Android 4.4.2. The Z7 Max also has an infrared transmitter, NFC, etc.
On the other hand, the Nubia Z7 Mini sports a 5-inch 1080p display screen, runs on the 2.0GHz Snapdragon 801 8974AA chipset, has 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM, (supports 64GB expansion card), and a 5mp/13mp camera. It also supports 4G internet and its OS is the Nubia UI 2.0 as well.
Both of them look mostly the same, keeping Nubia’s classic design, including the red “Home” button. Here is a snapshot comparison of both phones.
Eight months after the release of the Nubia Z5S, Nubia introduced the Nubia Z7 series in Beijing, releasing three devices one after the other. The Z7 Mini boasts its good prices while the flagship Z7 phone is mainly known for its high-end specs. But what about the Z7 Max? What distinguishes it from the other two?
Max editions are usually big-screen low-end versions of flagship products, but the Nubia Z7 Max retains the Z7’s 5.5-inch screen and Snapdragon 801 processor at the cost of just 1999 RMB (322.28). Despite its name, the Nubia Z7 Max is really the third generation of the Big Bull phone. Of course, it would be such a bother to dabble into the name and what it essentially is so let’s just start the review.
Appearance
The first time you see the Nubia Z7 Max, you may almost mistake it for the Nubia Z5S mini. Considering that the Z5S mini has sold millions, it is easy to understand why its design would serve as the inspiration for the Z7 Max’s and the market seems to be pleased with this.
A comparison of the Z7 Max and Z5S Mini
The Nubia Z7, like its predecessors, has round edges and the classic red Home button which everyone should be familiar with. This familiarity points out just how famous the Nubia phones are which is important for ZTE than profits made.
Round-edged design
The most important part about this phone is the fact that it has such a plain and simple design with no marks and a good protective rear cover.
Frosted rear-cover
The buttons are located at the middle of the right side. The narrow design of the phone’s frames makes it easier and more comfortable to carry the phone on hand.
With a detachable rear cover to properly insert two SIM carts, the Nubia Z7 Max supports 4G internet as well as dual-SIM 4G.
5.5-inch 1080p display screen
At a time when Apple plans to reject one-hand phone carrying designs for big-screen ones, a screen that is less than 5 inches would already be considered small, while a screen that is over 6 inches would be considered too big which could cause a lot of problems when the phone is used. Therefore, 5.5 inches looks more reasonable for a display screen’s size.
This phone uses a 1080p Full HD display screen with a pixel density of 401ppi. It has clear graphics and a higher screen ratio which should give the user a nice viewing experience.
There is one slight problem with its built-in wallpapers which are just landscape and color palettes. These roughen up the interface. What Nubia should do is add more simple and plain wallpapers in their next products.
13mp + NeoVision 4.0
The Nubia Z7 Max has a 13mp rear-facing camera and 5mp front-facing camera with a F2.0 aperture which are pretty impressive.
One of the biggest selling points for Nubia’s phones are the the many functions provided by NeoVision. Nubia’s latest phones have the new NeoVision 4.0 which has three main modes, Auto mode, Pro mode, and Fun mode. It also has depth of field preview, and manual focus and many more.

Nubia’s new UI
The Nubia Z7 Max’s OS is the Nubia UI 2.5 which has a neat and simple appearance and an interface with so many different apps, all organized in a “flattened” manner.
Nubia UI 2.5
The Nubia UI 2.5 lets you unlock a locked phone by letting you to swipe your hand upwards on the screen, after which, you will be asked whether you want to unlock the phone or use the camera. The shortcuts and notification center are concentrated in a single interface and there are not any big changes on the background and settings menu.
Background interface (left), Settings menu (right)
The best things about the Nubia UI 2.5 are Nubia electronics and Nubia Niudun. With these, you won’t have to download third-party security software.
Nubia electronics (left), Nubia niudun (right)
Infrared remote control, projector, and NFC are all included.
Projector
The upgrades made in the UI should greatly user experience.
The Snapdragon 801
Although the existence of the Z7 shows that the Z7 Max is not a flagship phone, it still uses the current processor to date, the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 which is compatible with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory storage. With a benchmark score of 35560, there is absolutely no need to worry about performance problems.
Information on device (left), Benchmark score (right)
Conclusion:
Nubia has gradually been perfecting the interactive experience of their products. When they include the new Nubia UI 2.5 and their top-notch specs into the Nubia Z7 Max, the result is an excellent cell phone at the cost of 1999 RMB. Whether you are just someone who wants a good cost-performance ratio, or someone who wants a good camera, the Nubia Z7 Max does not disappoint.
Mediatek have announced the new MT6795 processor, and it’s pretty special, putting the Snapdragon 801 to shame. The rumours of the new 64bit processors being able to match the Snapdragon 801 are one thing, now the 810 could be under threat from this new monster chipset. Following on from the leaked roadmap last week (see picture below) , which gave us a fleeting glimpse of the MT6795, we have some official details for you. Impressive details they are too.
While Mediatek have stuck to the 28nm manufacturing processor model, they have used a 64bit octacore set-up, consisting of Cortex A53 cores and A57 cores. Although currently the listed specifications clock the MT6795 at 2.2 GHz, we’re likely to get an upgraded 2.5GHz version also, nearer to launch.
The GPU is a PowerV G6200, which we know is good enough, thanks to its similarity to the iPhone 5S hardware, but whether it will be as good as the Adreno 430 which comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 remains to be seen.
The processor supports dual channel LPDDR 933MHz memory, Qualcomm gets 64 bit LPDD4F 1600MHz. It also supports display resolution of up to 2560 x 1600, along with cameras up to 20MP, LTE, Glonass, GPS amongst others. Another huge plus is the new MT6795 is pin compatible with the MT6592, meaning that current smartphones could easily be upgraded to the new hardware.
The launch date is intended for the end of 2014, making it likely that first quarter flagship Chinese phones will have the MT6795. It looks as though the bar has been raised, and Qualcomm just might be a little worried.
