Well-known YouTuber Jon Prosser appeared on the Geared Up podcast with Andru Edwards and Jon Rettinger (via AppleTrackr) to reveal key details of the upcoming 4^th generation iPhone SE. The iPhone SE 2022 was based on the iPhone 8. The new leak reveals that the next-generation iPhone SE will be based on the previously released iPhone XR.

According to Prosser, the iPhone SE 4 will be “just an iPhone XR.” This indicates that it will be equipped with a notched display, reduced bezels, and Face ID. This also suggests that it may not feature a Touch ID sensor.

The iPhone SE 2022 is powered by the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which is the same chip that can be found in the iPhone 13 series. Rumors are rife that the iPhone 14 and 14 Max, debuting next month, will have the A15 chip, whereas the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be equipped with the Apple A16 Bionic.

Hence, it appears that the iPhone SE 4 may feature the Apple A15 Bionic chip. The rest of its specifications could be identical to the iPhone XR, which has been discounted by Apple. Reports have revealed that there has been less demand for the iPhone SE, which suggests that people may not be interested in purchasing an iPhone with an older design.

The iPhone XR, which went official in 2018, came with a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD display that offered 828 x 1792 pixels. The A12 Bionic chip-powered device featured 3 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of storage, and a 2,942mAh battery with 15W charging support. It came with a 7-megapixel front camera and an OIS-enabled 12-megapixel rear camera.

New data made available by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners indicate that Apple‘s US sales numbers were driven by the four iPhone 12 series models, which accounted for 61% of the overall sales in the first quarter of 2021.  The four iPhone 12 models are the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the iPhone 12 Mini.

The iPhone 12 series performance data shows that the vanilla iPhone 12 model had the highest sales numbers among the four models. The petite iPhone 12 Mini accounted for the lowest number of units sold within the period. The iPhone 12 Mini has not met its pre-release projections and has not sufficiently caught the fancy of US consumers.  

The sales trajectory showed a shift away from the more expensive and newer iPhone 12 series to the less expensive iPhone 11. This resulted in a decline in the average selling price to $847 from its December 2020 average of $873. 

The iPhone 11 smartphone retained individual honor as the highest-selling Apple model, as was also the case in Q1 2020. The impressive and hugely popular Phone 11 grossed about 24% of the overall Apple smartphone sales, after a seeming lull in sales in the aftermath of the launch of the iPhone 12 series.

The iPhone 11 has had an outstanding performance against its more endowed successors, including the iPhone SE, iPhone 12 series, and the iPhone XR. It was a mixed bag for the iPhone SE and XR models in the three months ending in March 2021. While the iPhone SE declined from its Q4 2020 market share, the iPhone XR performed better.

The iPhone 11 ships with iOS 13 out of the box, while the iPhone XR is born with iOS 12. However, Apple decided to update both the devices to the latest iOS 14. Naturally, more recent phones get longer software support.

Camera

iPhone 11 and iPhone XR are equipped with the same main camera sensor: a 12 MP unit with f/1.8 focal aperture, phase detection autofocus, and OIS, as well as a Quad-LED flash. Display

Besides having almost the same design, iPhone XR and iPhone 11 even come with the same display. It is a 6.1-inch panel with an 828p resolution, True-tone technology, and wide color gamut. It is an IPS panel, unfortunately, no OLED in this trio. The display of these two phones is actually superior to the screen found on the iPhone SE 2020. But the iPhone SE 2020 has the most compact display and it is easy to use with one hand. iPhone SE 2020 relies on Touch ID for authentication, while iPhone XR and 11 rely on 3D facial recognition (Face ID).

Hardware/Software

The iPhone 11 has the most advanced hardware department. It is composed of an Apple A13 Bionic chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and up to 256 GB of NVMe native storage. The silver medal goes to the iPhone SE 2020 sporting an Apple A13 Bionic chipset paired with 3 GB of RAM. iPhone XR loses the fight with its Apple A12 Bionic and 3 GB of RAM. iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone 11 run iOS 13 out of the box and will get longer software support, while iPhone XR ships with iOS 12. Apple launched the iPhone 12 series later than in previous years as a result of the global pandemic. The American tech giant is said to be facing supply chain issues for the new iPhones. Hence, the company is reported to have ordered more than 20 million units of older and cheaper iPhones.

According to a report by Nikkei Asia, Apple has asked its suppliers to prepare for more than 20 million iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone SE 2020 units from October till the end of the year. Because the company expects sales growth in the holiday season but it does not enough stock of the newer iPhone 12 series.

Another report by Bloomberg tells that Apple is facing a shortage of power management chips for the iPhone 12 series. This could be potentially the primary reason why the company is readying older models to fill the gap.

As per executive-level sources, the demand for iPhone 11 is still strong. Hence, Apple has ordered close to 10 million units each for iPhone 11 and iPhone SE 2020 respectively. 

The figures for iPhone XR are unknown but since the company is reported to have ordered only more than 20 million total units, the orders for XR should be much lower than the other two phones.

Having said that, Apple has discontinued iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max with the launch of newer iPhones a few weeks back. Therefore, customers opting for the Pro models have no choice but to go with iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Apple seems to have made a comeback in India in Q4 2019, according to the latest Counterpoint Research report. The Cupertino giant was one of the fastest-growing brands in India in the last quarter of the year, threatening the current premium segment leader, OnePlus.

According to Counterpoint, Apple’s iPhone XR and the iPhone 11 have sold really well in the country. The company reportedly registered a staggering 41% YoY growth in Q4 2019, grabbing a 2% market share of the highly competitive Indian market. In comparison, Apple’s shipments had declined by nearly 43% in India in 2018.

Apple’s aggressive pricing and channel strategies seem to have paid off. First, the price cut on its iPhone XR model made it the best selling iPhone in Q2 and Q3 of 2019 in India. This, paired with the no-cost EMI and HDFC festive cashback offers on the new iPhone 11 models helped Apple grab a small chunk of the market share in India at the end of last year.

Local manufacturing was one of the biggest changes made by Apple in 2019. Apple iPhone XR has been a success for the company, however, some users of the handset on UK’s second-largest carrier, O2, have been experiencing issues that affects calls, texts, and data usage.

Now, both the companies — Apple and O2, have publicly acknowledged the issue and Apple has even promised a fix for the same. The problems affect calls, texts and data usage with users reporting loss of signal on multiple occasions throughout the day.

O2’s comment was that it’s working closely with its partners to resolve the issue affecting its iPhone XR users. It says that IT fix 101 — turning the phone off and on again — provides a temporary fix, but it’s unclear how long that lasts before the iPhone XR connectivity problems reoccur.

Apple’s statement also confirmed the connectivity issues and promised a software fix with the upcoming iOS release. It said: “We are aware of an issue causing intermittent network connectivity affecting some O2 customers, and we will have a fix in an upcoming software release.”

Although iPhone 11 series has superseded iPhone XR and data from Counterpoint suggests that it was the best-selling smartphone in the first three quarters of 2019.

It is very hard to establish which of these devices has the best aesthetics as they are all made with great materials and they sport an amazing form factor and nice color variants. I personally prefer the Samsung Galaxy S10e because it is a more compact design. Further, the Canary Yellow color variant makes me crazy. It is also a waterproof device, meaning you can put it underwater for up to 30 minutes at 1.5 meters deep. Even iPhone XR is a water resistant device, but unlike the Galaxy S10e, it does not have the IP68 certification but it is only IP67.

Display

While Honor 20 Pro has a classic midrange-class IPS panel, both Samsung Galaxy S10e and iPhone XR come with a high-end display. The former has a Dynamic AMOLED panel with the HDR10+ standard and very rich colors. The latter sports an IPS panel, but IPS panels do not always mean a lower-end display. Indeed, the iPhone XR is one of the few smartphones to sport a 120 Hz refresh ratio as well as a very wide color gamut and the True Tone technology. Samsung Galaxy S10e is amazing even when it comes to selfies and videos with the front camera, as it comes with a 10 MP snapper able to record videos up to 4K resolution. However, iPhone XR is all but a bad camera phone. Honor 20 Pro has the most versatile camera, but we still have to test it in order to give a definitive verdict.

Battery

Both iPhone XR and Samsung Galaxy S10e have a small battery, but it is greatly optimized in both cases. We noticed that Samsung Galaxy S10e is able to last a bit more with more usage patterns. Further, unlike the iPhone XR, it supports reverse wireless charging and it can be used as a power bank. But Honor 10 Pro wins the comparison thanks to its much bigger 4000 mAh battery.

Price

The starting price of the Honor 20 Pro is €600/$670, iPhone XR starts from €850 and Samsung Galaxy S10e costs €560/$625 in its base variant. At the end of the day, I would choose the Samsung Galaxy S10e for its great performances, amazing display, and reverse wireless charging. But it lacks a big battery and it has a compact display, so it is not for everyone.

BankmyCell recently released a report on smartphone depreciation for 2018 which shows that the Galaxy S9 models are among the fastest depreciating models in terms of trade-in value. The company has released another report which details the resale value of the current Samsung flagship Galaxy S10 side-by-side with Apple‘s latest iPhone XS/XR.

Today’s follow up report details the resale value trends of the Galaxy S10 and iPhone XS/XR ranges. It is interesting to note that the projections look grim for consumers as the flagships are likely to depreciate at a much more aggressive rate in 2019, especially for Galaxy S10 series. The report shows that the Galaxy S10 lost more value in the first month after its launch than the iPhone XS lost in 9 months. The Samsung Galaxy S10 models lost 46.69% in the first month of release while the iPhone XS/XR range lost 42.40% in 9 months of release.

Samsung released a 1TB version of the S10 but it didn’t hold up in value as it is shown to have recorded the highest monetary loss in the first month, going from a starting price of $1,600 down to $750, losing $850. However, the Galaxy S10e had the biggest depreciation rate in the first month (-53.3%).

The iPhone XS/XR also saw some significant depreciation in value, with the iPhone XR (256GB) having the biggest depreciation of -$368 among the three available storage variants.

The iPhone XS 512GB variant also had the biggest loss in monetary value, going down from $1,349 to $706. For the iPhone XS Max models, the same scenario also played out, with the biggest loss coming to the 512GB version whose price fell from $1,449 to $801 in nine months.

This pattern of smartphone depreciation is that even though the variant with the largest storage offers the biggest value for money at inception, they depreciate faster in value.

Another important thing we could draw out from the report is that even though the iPhone XS range is outperforming the Galaxy S10 range in terms of resale value, it isn’t a cause for celebration for Apple owners. The iPhone XS is losing value much faster than the iPhone X did in 9months post-launch. In fact, the XS lost -13.85% more value than the iPhone X.

So, there is a raging storm ahead for both Apple and Samsung. Both companies have also seen their market shares tumble in some major markets like India and China.

The iPhone XR launched last year as a cheaper version of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. While it did skip on some features of its more expensive siblings such as using an LCD panel instead of OLED and having a single rear camera instead of two, the iPhone XR uses the same A12 Bionic processor as they do. The phone has been a success and Apple will be following it up with a successor this year. Renders of that successor, currently referred to as the iPhone XR 2019 have been posted online and they reveal what is to come later this year.

The 3D renders are from veteran leaker @OnLeaks and this time he has partnered with India’s Pricebaba. The renders show that Apple will once again be going with bright colors for the iPhone XR 2019 as they show the phone in blue, yellow, and red. There is also a white variant.

Nothing seems to have changed with respect to the front of the phone. It is still a 6.1-inch display and it has a wide notch at the top. Button placements have also not changed. However, when you flip the phone to the back, things get more interesting.

For this year’s model, Apple is adding an extra camera to the iPhone XR. It is still one sensor less than the 2019 model of the iPhone XS which is reported to launch as the iPhone XI, but that extra sensor will up your photography game. The cameras are housed in a square module along with a dual LED flash. The entire back of the phone is covered in glass.

The iPhone XR 2019 will measure 150.9 x 76 x 8.3 millimeters (9.1mm thick with the camera bump). It will be powered by a new chipset expected to be called the A13 Bionic. Unlike last year’s model, it has been reported it will ship with an 18W charger. However, the battery capacity is still unknown.

Following poor sales of the new iPhones, sellers are beginning to cut prices. The slash which started in China has made its way to Hong Kong.

A report from the Hong Kong News Agency says telecom operators have begun to slash prices by several hundreds of Hong Kong Dollars (HKD). The 512GB iPhone XS is said to have received a price cut of HKD 2050 (~$260).

Following poor sales in the region, Apple decided to lower prices in certain countries. In China, the price of the new iPhones is reported to have been lowered to the level before the Renminbi depreciated. For other countries, Apple is allowing the price to be based on the local currency and not based on US Dollars.

This price slash is already yielding positive results in China. Tmall, one of China’s top online retail stores recorded a 76% surge in sales within two weeks of slashing prices. Suning also reported over 80% increase in sales when it slashed prices in January.

Reports from the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) today, has shown how impressive iPhones have sold compared to other phones. Since Apple doesn’t announce the number of units sold, it’s however not easy to determine how iPhones thrive in terms of its sales in the market, more especially when there are reports a slump in its sales. However, the report by CIRP claims 32% of the iPhones sold in the first month of this year were iPhone XR models, while iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max jointly made up 35% of Apple’s market share.

Apple implemented a different strategy for the release of its smartphone this year by launching two expensive iPhones, then in a space of a month launching its newest entry-level tier, giving an opportunity for iOS users to upgrade. According to similar reports, 82% of users were said to have upgraded from older iOS devices, whereas 16% switch from Android. Though the launch in 2017 was a bit different in figures compared to 2018 which 86% upgraded from iOS while 21% upgraded from Android.

From estimation, there was a drop of a few percentages(4%) based on the percentage of iPhones sales in 2017 and 2018 respectively, which was reported to have been 69% as at 2017 and 65% this year. Noteworthy, these figures are estimated values gotten from the statistical evaluation of the 165 participants analyzed after the launch of the iPhone XR within a month of its release date which is October 26 this year.

Lenovo astonished the smartphone industry when it announced the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT as the world’s first Snapdragon 855 chipset powered smartphone at the launch event of Lenovo Z5s on Monday. The marvelous Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is the first smartphone to feature 12 GB of RAM. The Chinese manufacturer also announced that the Z5 Pro with its monstrous specs is leading the AnTuTu benchmarks with an average benchmarking score of 368,480. This score not only puts the smartphone ahead of all the Snapdragon 845 and Kirin 980 powered smartphones, but also it has defeated Apple A12 chipset driven iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. Soon after the launch, AnTuTu confirmed that the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT has outscored all the other Android phones, but it claimed that its benchmarking score cannot be compared with iPhones.

The image shown below was displayed at the launch of the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT. It shows that the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is ruling over iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR that have respectively scored 356,501, 355,804 and 346,735 on AnTuTu benchmarks. The following four spots are occupied by Kirin 980 powered Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 X, Mate 20 Pro and Honor Magic 2. The Xiaomi Black Shark Helo, OnePlus 6T and Nubia X are the Snapdragon 845 that are placed at the last three places on the list.

Through Weibo, AnTuTu explained that Android and iOS platforms have different algorithms. Hence, AnTuTu benchmark scores of Android and iOS devices cannot be compared.

The Lenovo Z5 Pro comes with 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with slider design. It features up to 512 GB of storage. For photography, it features 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual front cameras and 16-megapixel + 24-megapixel dual rear cameras. It receives power from 3,350mAh battery.

The pre-orders of Lenovo Z5 Pro GT will begin on Jan. 15 with official sales scheduled to start on Jan. 24. The 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage editions of the Z5 Pro GT are respectively priced at 2,698 Yuan (~$391), 2,998 Yuan (~$434), 3,398 Yuan (~$498) and 4,398 Yuan (~$637).

Japan Display, which is a supplier to Apple for the iPhone displays, is reportedly cutting down production from December of liquid crystal display (LCD) for iPhone XR model because of the disappointing sales after its debut in October.

The reduction in the production of the LCDs is expected to be about 30 percent compared to the November peak level. It also marks a potential setback for the company which was expecting the iPhone XR supply contract as a key to breaking a four-year streak of losses.

For Japan Display, around 80 percent of its overall revenue is generated through the production of the display panel for smartphones. Majority of those earning is dependent on its business with Apple.

Earlier, the company, known as JDI, has reported sales forecast growth in the range of 10 percent to 20 percent. However, last month, the company lowered the numbers to between 5 percent to 15 percent for the year ending in March 2019. It is also cutting its operating profit margin estimate.

As per the reports, domestic factories have already lowered down the output of display panels for the iPhone XR. Further, the report adds that the company will halt production for around 10 days during the New Year holidays.

The Japan-based company’s panel inventories are reportedly running high after full-bore production in October and November. The company will now use some of the capacity freed up by this month’s output cuts for products other than smartphone displays.

Apple is conducting a more aggressive marketing strategy for its new iPhone models because of weaker sales. The company’s stock is also currently trading down for the year as Apple suppliers report order cuts across the board and investors fear the demand for iPhone XS and iPhone XR is low. The company will be reporting its iPhone sales results in a quarterly earnings call in January but Apple has already announced that it will no longer report unit sales numbers.

In a recent report from the Wall Street Journal, it is believed that the Cupertino giant is going to cut down the price of the new iPhone XR in some markets. Notably, in Japan, Apple will be giving subsidies for local carriers to make some more sales. Apple has not cited any reason behind offering these kinds of discounts. Well, this is not a new thing for Apple, they have done similar kind of promotional activities in the past for some other countries.

We are not clear, whether these promotional activities are just limited to Japan or will come to some other regions also. Usually, it is quite rare that Apple provides subsidies to carriers for promoting their devices, but it is good to see some more efforts from the Cupertino giant in supporting their devices.

As per recent reports from the supply chain, it is taken alongside that Apple is cutting the production of the recently launched iPhone models. Low sales in the global market are to be blamed behind the recent decision. In the past couple of years, global smartphone shipments have been declined after years of tremendous growth.

Apple is not alone affecting its sales due to global slow down, Samsung and many other significant OEMs are in the same line. Now, these companies are looking to cut down the losses by implementing precautionary measures. Some are promoting their potential devices, and some are cutting down on the production to tackle the decline in global sales. In the face of shrinking revenue, Amazon has infused some zest into its sales strategy by striking a deal with Apple to start selling the latest iPhones, Apple Watches and iPads directly on the sales platform. This doesn’t in anyway mean Apple products are not sold on Amazon but the iPhones and other Apple products on Amazon have been from third-party retailers. Thus, the prices are often at variance with the official Apple prices. and that sourcing isn’t as reputable.

According to the report by CNET, Apple products will commence official sales on Amazon sites in the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and India within the next few weeks. The details also show that the listing will not only including both Apple’s devices but also products sold under the Beats brand which is owned by Apple. The products will, however, not include Apple Homepod which is a direct competitor to Amazon’s own Echo.

DxOMark, a popular camera benchmarking platform is known for ranking smartphone according to their camera benchmark scores. A leaked photo of Dx0Mark scores of several unannounced smartphones such as OnePlus 6T, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and Google Pixel 3 have surfaced on Weibo.

As it can be seen on the left side of the below image, the unreleased Mate 20 Pro is leading the pack with 116 score. The next unannounced on the list is the Google Pixel 3 with a score of 107. The Mate 20 is also mentioned below with the same score.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, Apple iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xs, Meizu 16th Plus and the unannounced Honor V20 follows the Mate 20 in the list. The iPhone Xr and OnePlus 6T are also present on the list with respective scores of 100 and 99. The benchmarking reports of these phones are yet to appear on the website of Dx0Mark. There is a high possibility that the above leak nothing but fake.

A DxOMark score is a combination of photography and video recording scores. The the current ranking of smartphones according to their DxOMark scores is shown on the right side in the above image. The Huawei P20 Pro with its triple camera setup as at the numero uno position with 109 score. The HTC U12+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 are on second and third positions with respective scores of 103. As it can be seen, the newly released smartphones such as the new iPhones, Xperia XZ2 Premium, Meizu 16th Plus have not appeared on the list yet.

Since the leaked photo showing the DxOMark scores of unannounced and newly released phones appears fake, it remains to be seen how highly awaited phones like OnePlus 6T and Mate 20 Pro will rank on the list.

Xiaomi has joined fellow Chinese giant in mocking Apple over its latest iPhone models that were announced on Wednesday. The company dubbed “the Apple of China” takes on Apple in a subtle way, by mimicking the iterations of the new iPhone models in the naming of three different product bundles. The product bundles are named XR suite, XS suite and XS Max set and are priced exactly as the starting prices of the three new iPhone models in China.

The listing takes a direct swipe at the pricing of the three iPhone models; the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max. Apple released the pricing of the three models in China yesterday and they are not cheap! Apple products are extremely popular in China and are priced too high for many Chinese. We vividly recall the sad and unfortunate incident that occurred in 2012 when a 17-year-old boy from Anhui, one of China’s poorest provinces, sold his kidney for 22,000 yuan (£2,200) and used the money to buy an iPhone and iPad. As at then, the iPhone price started at 3,988 yuan (£400), and iPads began at 2,988 yuan (£300). The pricing of Apple products continued to skyrocket unabated. On a lighter side, Xiaomi is perhaps trying to prevent such alarming cases of teens selling off their kidneys to get an iPhone. And it is doing that by slapping us with some attractive and cool Mi gadgets we can get at the price of just one iPhone. As surreal as that sounds, it isn’t true. The Chinese company never made mention of that but this is just a marketing strategy to take on the competition. Apple iPhone sales plummetted in China in recent times as a result of the rise of rival brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and others.

The XR suite as you can guess mimics the iPhone XR which interestingly is the base model but starts at 6499 yuan ($947) in China. For this amount, Xiaomi offers buyers the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE (6+128GB) Grey, Mi Band 3, Mi Notebook Air 12.5 Inch 4+256G Silver and the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini (Black). Pricing for the high-end iPhone XS begins at 8699 Yuan ($1268) in China and Xiaomi mirrors that with the XS Suite which offers buyers the flagship Mi MIX 2S (8GB+256GB) Black, Mi Band 3, Mi Notebook Air 13.3″ (Silver) and the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini (Black).

Thirdly, the top-most iPhone XS Max with a giant display begins at a whopping 9599 yuan ($1398). For that amount, Xiaomi says we can get the XS Max bundle comprising the Mi 8 (6GB+128GB), Mi Notebook Pro, Mi Bluetooth Collar Headset and Mi Band 3 on Mi.com. Sadly, this is only applicable in China as all the products in the bundles will cost more than what is being offered on Xiaomi’s website. It would be interesting, though, to see such bundles being offered in India, Spain and other regions where XIaomi has its physical presence.

The 7nm Apple A12 chipset is present under the hood of the newly unveiled iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr smartphones. At the launch event of the new iPhones, Apple did not confirm on their RAM capacities. However, the amount of RAM present inside the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR have been recently revealed through their AnTuTu and Geekbench listings. Now, AnTuTu has shared a new screenshot which reveals that the Apple A12 powered iPhone XS handset has recorded a marvelous score of more 363k.

In the CPU, GPU, UX and memory tests of AnTuTu, the iPhone XS has respectively scored 133,561, 150,931, 66,474 and 12,559 which brings the total benchmarking score to 363,525. Most of the Android flagship phones powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset have scored around 290k on AnTuTu which shows how powerful the Apple A12 SoC is.

Compared to the Apple A11 chipset that powers the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, the hexa-core A12 offers nearly 33.3 percent increased performance, doubled GPU score, 50 percent improvement in UX score and around 20 percent improvement in memory score because of which the iPhone XS has managed to achieve such an impressive benchmarking score.

The Apple A12 Bionic which includes two high-performance cores that worker 15 percent faster than the Apple A11 chipset and four power-efficiency cores that consumes 50 percent less power than A11. The SoC includes four-core GPU which also offers 50 percent better graphics performance than the GPU of A11.

The iPhone Xs features 4 GB of RAM and so does the iPhone Xs Max smartphone. The iPhone Xs and Xs Max respectively feature 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch AMOLED screens. The iPhone Xr that is equipped with a 6.1-inch LCD screen is packed with 3 GB of RAM.

The Kirin 980 that will be powering the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro handset is also a 7nm chipset. An unconfirmed AnTuTu listing of Kirin 980 powered Mate 20 that had surfaced earlier this year had revealed an impressive benchmarking score of 350k score. However, the actual performance scores of the Kirin 980 will be revealed after the announcement of Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro that is slated to happen on Oct. 16. The 7nm Snapdragon 855 chipset is slated to go official by the end of this year. It is expected to power most of the Android flagship phones arriving in 2019.

As mentioned above, the benchmarking score of the best Android phone is 70k less than A12. However, the arrival of Kirin 980 and Snapdragon 855 will change things.

While unveiling its new devices, Apple usually does not reveal all the important details of their specs sheet, and the same applies to this year’s iPhones as well — iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr. The most important detail which was not revealed by the Cupertino giant was the amount of RAM on its new smartphones. But today, three handsets surfaced on some Geekbench listings which revealed both the quantity of RAM and their scores obtained on benchmarks. According to Geekbench, both iPhone Xs and Xs Max come with 4 GB of RAM, that is 1 GB more than the previous generation.

The affordable model iPhone Xr instead comes with 3 GB of RAM just like the original iPhone X. Coming to benchmark scores, Geekbench highlighted a very high result in single-core performance for the iPhone Xs Max: 4813 points, that is much better than the previous generation, while there is just a slight difference in multi-core performance with 10266 points. Due to its lower amount of RAM, iPhone Xr obtained a lower score with 4754 in single-core and 9367 points in multi-core. There are still other important details we need to know about iPhone Xs, Xs Max, and Xr, such as the clock frequency of the chipset.

But they should be revealed very soon as the devices are going to hit the shelves on September 21. All the iPhones of this year are powered by an hexa-core Apple A12 Bionic chipset, but they have displays of different sizes. The first has a 5.8-inch AMOLED panel, the second has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display (the biggest screen ever seen on an Apple phone) and the third is in the middle with a 6.1-inch display and the LCD technology. Even though it is cheaper, according to Apple, iPhone Xr has the best LCD display ever used on a phone.

Apple has introduced the iPhone XS as the upgraded version of the iPhone X that was launched last year. The iPhone XS Max featuring a huge 6.5-inch OLED screen was unveiled alongside it. The iPhone XR featuring a notched LCD screen was also announced alongside the iPhone XS and XS Max. Fresh information reveals with the arrival of the 2018 iPhones, Apple has discontinued older iPhones like iPhone 6S and iPhone SE. The Cupertino company has also halted the sales of the iPhone X permanently.

It is unusual for Apple to discontinue iPhone X because the company is known for slashing the price of previous year’s model with the arrival of a new smartphone. Instead of selling the iPhone X with a reduced pricing, Apple has decided to kill it.

It is now being speculated that if Apple would have sold the iPhone X with discounted pricing, it may not have earned good profits for the company since the cost of materials required would not have decreased significantly. It appears that the iPhone XR that has a starting price of $749 is a good replacement for the iPhone X.

Now that the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and iPhone SE have been discontinued, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are the new entry-level phones from the company. Both phones are respectively priced at $449 and $569. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are respectively priced at $599 and $699.

Since the 4-inch iPhone SE is no longer available for buying, the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are the smallest iPhones available for buying in the U.S. At present, the iPhone X, iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and iPhone SE could be available for buying in some countries, but they will be soon discontinued with the release of new iPhones.

The iPhone XR comes in 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage options. These models are respectively priced at $749, $799 and $899. The storage variants of the iPhone X are 64 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. Along with the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, US-based tech giant Apple also announced iPhone XR, which is the cheapest smartphone of the three that were unveiled at the launch event in California, USA.

The Apple iPhone XR comes with an aluminum body and glass back. Unlike the iPhone XS lineup, the new iPhone XR features a 6.1-inch LCD display with a screen resolution of 1792 x 828 pixels, offering a pixel density of 326ppi.

The company is calling the display as ‘Liquid Retina’ and claims that it is the most advanced LCD display in the industry. It features Apple‘s True Tone technology that is claimed to offer a more natural viewing experience.

While the iPhone XS series features 3D Touch, the iPhone XR lacks support for 3D Touch. However, the company has introduced Haptic Touch, which is similar to the one introduced in the MacBook trackpad.

Just like the iPhone XS and XS Max, the iPhone XR too is powered by the latest Apple A12 Bionic 7nm chipset. Apple says that the chipset unlocks new experiences for games, photography, video editing and graphics-intensive apps while still offering great battery life. It comes in three storage options — 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

Coming to the camera configuration, the phone comes equipped with a single 12-megapixel sensor at the back, with a wide-angle lens and optical image stabilizer (OIS), same as the iPhone XS. On the front side, it has the same 7-megapixel True-Deth camera and comes with Face ID support that now unlocks the phone through facial recognition faster than ever. The camera also has support for Portrait Mode that enables you to take images with bokeh effect.

All the iPhone models announced this year comes with IP67 ratings and thus, the iPhone XR is also water resistant. This too runs on the latest iOS 12 operating system. As for the battery capacity, Apple claims that the battery on iPhone XR lasts one and a half hour more than the iPhone 8 Plus.

The iPhone XR comes in multiple color options, including Black, White, Blue, Coral (Pink), Yellow, and Product Red. It is priced at $749 and will be available for pre-order from October 19 and the company will start shipping the iPhone XR from October 26.

Apple will begin its launch event in a short while. The manufacturer is expected to announce three new iPhones among other devices. However, earlier today, the names, storage options, and color variants of the iPhones have leaked. The leak comes from Apple’s own website.

The three iPhones that will be announced later today will be called the iPhone Xs, the iPhone Xs Max, and the iPhone Xr.

The iPhone Xs will come with a 5.8-inch OLED display while the Max will have a 6.5-inch OLED display. Both will be available in 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage editions. They will also launch in Space Gray, Silver, and Gold.

The iPhone Xr, on the other hand, will come with a 6.1-inch LCD display. Just like the other two, it will come in 64GB and 256GB versions and also have a 128GB version. It will also come in more colors – Black, White, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Coral.

The site also revealed there will be a bunch of cases in various colors and materials including Pink Sand, Blue Horizon, Lavender, and Forest Green. It also revealed a new Apple Watch but doesn’t mention new iPads.
